Fries too salty and limey. Hamburgers were barely a cut above McDonald's. Advertised as at least 4 stars. Not worth the price.

First time I came here it was GREAT! These last few times it has not met standards. I did a dine in two days ago with my daughters and well I think that did it for me. I ordered a single patty of the Santa Barbara and when I received it, the burger was the size was like that of Mcdonalds... super small burger and no avocado, which was the main reason I ordered it. My burger of $9.25 looked nothing like the picture of a stacked burger, meal was so small it fit in one of those small fry trays even worse I paid extra for fries and my whole meal fit in a small fry tray. Now this is what did it for me; I ordered a margarita from the bar. The gal serving drinks was sweet no issues with her. First time around I noticed little dark brown things floating in my margarita I take a closer look it was two bugs gross their legs and all I fished them out. Walked back over told her, showed, her and I even apologized for bringing it back. She said no prob, I'll make you a new one. She was going to make the same one and the bugs seemed to have been inside the tequila bottle. Made me a new one I go sit down, I was mixing it with my straw and now there was a black thing in the middle of my drink, once again I fish it out with my straw and it was black hair curled up. At that point I couldn't finish my $10 margarita. It was too much I didn't bother saying anything because for starters I didn't want another one and I was done I spent $28 on my tiny burger & fries (quality horrible) , kids chicken tenders with fries (chicken was good, fries were greasy tasted like they were cooked in old oil). Plus $10 for the margarita. I am giving 2 stars because all staff at Jimmy Hula's are kind never an issue, but food quality, and preparation have hit the lows. I think I will be stearing clear here for a while. read more

My family and I visited St. Augustine over spring break, we came on a Sunday and they were extremely busy, so we expected the food to take a little longer due to how busy it was. The food came out very quickly and the service was outstanding, the girls at the counter were so kind and didn't require us to pay extra for small things like sauces and drink refills. If you're looking for a beautiful place on the water to eat, Jimmy Hula's St. Augustine is the way to go!! read more

Food just isn't good. Poor quality, mass produced. Tastes like food at an amusement park or something. Wouldn't recommend unless it's your only option and there are dire consequences to not eating. For example, steak on the bowl was mostly gristle. Like 4 oz of tiny pieces of steak which could have been anything grayish and gristly. Ugh. Rice was good tho. So much rice. You've been warned. 2 stars bc at least you pay in the beginning so you can leave immediately. read more

This was a fun little restaurant. This was our first meal in St Augustine and it didn't disappoint. We took advantage of the outdoor seating so our dog, Neo, could join us. The staff was friendly and attentive. The seafood was delicious which was extra special as it was the first seafood restaurant for my nephews. This is a nice, new addition to the St Augustine food scene. The food was great and we can't wait to come back to try more of the menu. We started with Jimmy's Crack'd Corn as our opening munchie. My wife had the Fish Tacos (Baja style) and I had the Primo Fish sandwich. Good blend tastes. We really loved the corn. They are still in soft-opening mode so people should give them some grace and patience while they work out the kinks. They have a huge outdoor patio overlooking the river. My wife wanted a hamburger and I was looking for tacos and after a few rounds of looking at restaurant reviews, we decided on Jimmy Hulas. Jimmy Hulas has only been open for about a month but you would never know it. The restaurant was very well run, the staff very friendly, and the food very good. Who would ever imagine a quick serve restaurant having $1 million view? I had the Killer and Kingston tacos. My wife had the Kahuna burger and sweet potato fries. We stopped in without realizing it was a soft opening or new restaurant. My child loves tacos so we thought we would check it out. The food was really delicious, fresh, and hot. This was a different spin on tacos for us, but we all really like it. The restaurant was busy with indoor and outdoor seating. We could tell that they were working out some kinks. The cashier was clearly learning the touch screen register, but was very polite and nice. There was some communication issues between the kitchen and wait staff. My lunch and one of my sons arrived at our table well before my husband and other son. The staff and owner noticed and addressed the timing issue quickly. The food was great. Great local spot for some aloha, laid back feel, and some tasty grinds! While they're still in the opening phase, this new St Augustine good spot has it "going on"! From the open air dining area overlooking the inlet, to the great tasting dishes and eye candy, Jimmy Hula's has it all! Not bad. The setup is a little strange. Order your food at the counter and they bring your food to your table. Full service at the bar. Had some fish tacos and they were pretty good. My biggest complaint with the tacos is they were a little messy. The flavor was good. I'm just bothered when a dish is too complicated to eat because it has too much sauce and toppings. Foods always pretty tasty. Service not so much. We ordered a couple Baja taco meals to dine in. My wife got two I ordered three and we added an order of truffle fries on the side. The tacos came out in togo boxes, which fine not a huge issue, and the young lady mentioned our fries would be right out. We managed to slowly eat our tacos and snack on chips before finishing and the fries still had not come out. So my wife went in to see what the deal was. They apologized stating the kitchen was under staffed and that they'd be right out and asked if we'd like them togo. My wife said sure and they said we will refund your card for the inconvenience. Went to Jimmy hulas for the first time with my family. We have never been there before and really love tacos and Tex mex foods. They had an amazing bowl with hot sauce and they carry locals favorites while still being a franschise. Love this new spot and will absolutely be back! Young staff and super friendly. This location has great food, staff, and beverages with a beautiful view. Set on a salt water inlet you can watch boats go by. Have tried many different tacos and have not had a bad one yet. I can't say enough good about our experience. Incredible food, awesome service and a beautiful location. We sat at the bar so we could order through the bartender and enjoy some of their craft beers. Their located on the water with great views. There is a large outdoor seating area with large fans to keep things cool in the warmer months. The food unique in a GOOD way. These aren't the same old tacos they have all kinds of fun ingredients. The JOHNNY UTAH has Smoked Pork, Mac N' Cheese, BBQ Sauce, Bacon, Pickles, Scallions, or the KINGSTON with Jerk Chicken, Melted Cheddar Jack, Sweet Plantains, Avocado, Cotija Cheese, Honey Habanero Boss Sauce are 2 if my favorites. Also the smash burgers are ALL delicious. Prices are reasonable, and most importantly they have a full-service liquor bar. When we were there, we had an organic tequila drink similar to White claw called Freshie, they were the perfect refreshing drink to pair with their yummy tacos. We will be back. read more

This is my new favorite. I have been a fan since my Central Florida days and I am so happy we have one in St.Augustine. A few of us had lunch and it met expectations. I expected there would be some hiccups because they are newly opened, there were a couple if bumps. One dish came out about 15 mins later than the first two. There were enough chips to share after paying an additional amount, but they were stale. The servers were getting their steps in, but we had a wait for a request for a side of sauce and to-go boxes. The cookie dough flautas may not be best served by frying, but was given the option as their oven was down. So, my bad, I know for next time. They have a good selection of food and drinks. Plenty of parking and seating inside and out. The patio overlooks the water and there are plenty of fans for a steady breeze. It was comfortable even on a FL Sunny, hot, day.
