What a pleasant surprise coming off a plane and smelling BBQ. Overall, not bad. We got two BBQ sandwiches to go(I forget which ones) and ate them at the gate. Not the best BBQ I've ever had, but probably the best food I've had in an airport terminal. I did find a small bone in my sandwich, but it's just a sign that it's real pork. read more

The food here is just okay. I've had their chopped pork before and I wasn't impressed. I had a small breakfast this morning and only had the hash browns which were actually good. Even though this is Memphis, try to stay away from the BBQ at the airport. It's definitely made off premises and somehow it looses any good flavor in the delivery process. read more

The combination platter is so much food it's ridiculous. The brisket is pretty fantastic. Ribs were decent. Prices aren't bad considering it's in an airport. read more

My Memphis office is not far from the Interstate BBQ on Third St. and Interstate is without a doubt the best BBQ in town. However, the airport location doesn't really do Interstate BBQ justice. It's decent, but not as delicious as the real deal. Pretty good for airport food though. read more

The worst. Don't come here. Awful food backed up with awful service. There is absolutely no reason to come to this place whatsoever. Would leave 0 stars if possible. read more

Sorry, I just didn't like this place that much - and I tried it three times. BBQ spaghetti was overloaded with BBQ sauce and was gummy. I did like the BBQ balogna. The pork BBQ was hard to evaluate as there was too much sauce. Mr. Neely was a great host and pleasant. read more

In a rare act of divine intervention, I walked off a flight, starving, in Memphis with only 30 minutes to make a connection, and found that the only thing separating the two gates was Jim Neely's. I had a half chicken dinner, sweet tea, and a little sweet potato pie (wanted pecan, but they were out). The food was excellent, if pricey. But that's airport food for ya. The chicken was delicious and I greedily devoured it. The location was convenient and the counter staff were friendly. Although I probably won't go out of my way to make a connection in Memphis, it certainly sweetens the deal if it is a necessary evil. Way better than your common airport fare. read more

The absolute WORST BBQ I have ever had. Had to use all my sauce to moistened the meat near enough to swallow it and it still scratched my throat. Thus made the cole slaw burn my throat. Extremely overpriced with a sandwhich and bottled soda $10.95....even for airport food this is too high. Will never come back. read more

Just horrible...got a bbq salad with pork. It came out in 5 mins (that's what the 1 star is for). It was shredded pork that was all dried out, but hot, so it wilted the iceberg lettuce. There was almost nothing else in the salad except Bacos, yes Bacos! I know that gross taste and texture. Definitely not returningd read more

Amazing! If you are at the Memphis airport walk to terminal C and check it out! You won't be disappointed. Also, if you ask they are happy to give you bread :) Delicious read more

Omg!!!! I had no idea airport food could be so wonderful. Totally expecting the worst and got THE best BBQ I have ever had!!! Barely made it back to my plane, but it was totally worth it! read more

GREAT bar-b-que, and in an airport, too! The staff was fast and friendly.

Nasty about sums it up - they served my partner a cold half chicken. It was drowned in sauce and, aside from the lukewarm temp, he said it wasn't very good, either. Sides looked run of the mill and he said he was unimpressed. This is from a guy who loves Olive Garden and Chinese buffets, so I'd steer clear of this one and find something else to nosh on in the airport. read more

At first cold and unremarkable food, but then they took it back without complaint and brought me a new piping hot dish. Definitely better but not especially impressive. Ordered the BBQ spaghetti. read more

With only ten minutes, I had to be quick -- ordering and eating-wise -- so I only had a chance to get the side of baked beans: they were sooo tasty! I only wish I could have tucked into a big plate of meat. Someday, I will fly through this airport again and give this joint its due. read more

My Fiance and I stopped here while on a layover at the Memphis Airport. We could smell the BBQ sauce from 100 ft away and I could tell it was going to be good eats. I ordered the BBQ turkey plate with cole slaw and potato salad, she had the BBQ beef with slaw and beans, all of it gets 4 stars. I'm pretty picky about my slaw and potato salad and Jim Neely's does not dissapoint! Thanks for the great food and great service. read more

Their barbeque sauce is amazing!! Lots of flavor and a little heat! I had a pork shoulder sandwich here and it was huge!! My only negative feedback is they have limited side options and I didn't like any of them, but with the size of the sandwich the sides were not even needed. The food was definitely better than most airport options and it didn't seem to loose any of its quality being there. You can also buy precooked ribs that are frozen and will keep for 6-8 hours so you can take Memphis BBQ with you! There are also two locations, one in a food court and another as an individual restaurant and we went to the individual restaurant so our large group could sit together. read more

Omg! Get cole slaw in your pulled pork Sammy:-) I was told Memphis has the best bbq but I dint expect to find it at the airport! The chopped pork sandwhich was amazing...they put bbq sauce on it and homemade cole slaw! Ive never heard of that before but will be doing that from now on. the server was super frtiendly and nice... read more

Nothing negative to say about the service, but the food was just the worst. My bun was soggy and fell apart, the fries were stale, and the water... don't drink it. You are WAY better off going to Home Team Sports Bar a few feet away. read more

You smell bbq as soon as you get off the plane so naturally you have to get some. $8 for a big sandwhich. Totally average at best, you'd have to drown it in sauce, and overpriced. Cold slaw was lame as well. Skip it. read more

Outstanding ribs and sides. I visit rib places when I travel throughout the US, Interstate is in my top 3!

Whenever I fly through Memphis I always look forward to the BBQ at Neely's. Great sandwiches.

Chopped pork was a little dry but the sauce wasn't and was really good. I think they were getting ready to close so maybe the food had sat around for a while. I'd give it a go again. read more

I have traveled through the Memphis Airport on two recent occasions. On the first trip, I exited the aircraft and immediately smelled Memphis BBQ. The smell led me to Jim Neely's. I ordered the ribs and was totally disappointed. The meat was stringy, tough and not very plentiful. The potato salad was very good and was the highlight of the meal. On the second trip I tried the sliced beef with a double whopping of potato salad. I was disappointed with the beef also. It was hard, dry and tasteless. Again, the potato salad was very good. I would skip this restaurant in the future, and would disregard the smell of the BBQ. read more

After all the tv hooplah, i travel to memphis and rendesvous was closed in monday. Should have waited till tuesday but had a hankerin for the renowned memphis que. dried out ribs, so disappointed. If this is the best foot forward to rep memphis que, i might come to town and open my own shack cause i am leaving feeling empty read more

Very good BBQ is here. I had ribs and beef brisket, the brisket was great the ribs were just good, which was surprising as I think they are know for ribs. I will try it again, perhaps an off day. read more

Three stars is just about right... It'll scratch your bbq itch if you get the itch at the airport, and looking at the reviews for the other restaurants at MEM, it might even be one of the best options. But the food was just okay. I got the half rack of ribs, and they were weird. Good flavor, but half of each rib instead of having a large bone the meat fell off of, had some small cartilagey bone type fragments that had me picking those yucky bits out of each bite. Cole slaw was quite good and the fries were okay, needed salt and ketchup. Wish I would have had more time that would allow me to eat somewhere other than the airport and get a little more authentic, higher quality, Memphis BBQ. read more

BBQ tastes super bitter. Some of the worst BBQ I've had in a while. On a positive note the staff was super nice.

I always get the same thing. Smoked sausages. its so good when its plain.

Awesome BBQ. Normal airport prices so its kind of pricey, but it is worth the money. I recommend everything.

Horrible ribs. Tasted like it was boiled, then covered with average tasting sauce.

This place is a winner!! Must have the pork sandwich and a side of beans. The sandwich is hugh and you definitely not leave hungry. Staff is very friendly and attentive. read more

Had to try some Memphis bbq even though KC is the king. We decided in this place because we had seen it on TV several times and it was close. We sat down and our waitress was older and a little out of it. When we told her we were from KC and wanted to see what Memphis bbq has she looked at us like ok. Pump it up woman and put on a show, tell me you are the best bbq and play along. We got beef bbq sandwiches with a side order of bbq spaghetti. The bbq sauce was a little aggressive and strong but very good. The meat was chopped up and would have perfected it to be sliced. The fries were not bad, not my favorite but not bad. The bbq spaghetti was crazy, it should not be good but it was. I thought there was too much sauce on it and not much meat but it was good. I like to use the bbq sauce for my fries but they don't put sauce on the tables and was going to ask but after she forgot my daughters ranch I figured the old girl must be tired. I tried the ketchup they had on the table but it's some cheap brand and tasted like cheap ketchup. The bathroom looked like it had not been cleaned since Elvis was alive with dust piled on everything. So overall it was a good dinner just missed out on something's. I would go back but only after I tried other places. read more

Slow service. Food was really bad. I had the chicken. It had sauce all over it and still had no flavor. It was tough meat. I literally took a bite; attempted to chew; took it out of my mouth; and put it back on the plate. Pretty disappointing. read more

Me and my daughter had a BBQ (pork) sandwich and it was delicious and HUGE! My wife and son both had BBQ spaghetti and though it was a bit spicy but they loved it. My wife, kids and I only had about 25 minutes to catch a flight, the waitress was great and fast. In and out quickly. read more

Been in the seat for 40 min. No drink no food 20 min. Before we got a waitress to check on us we finally got our food and it was cold the only thing that was warm was the barbecue spaghetti it was okay but still nothing to write home about read more

I wasn't impressed. The atmosphere leaves lots to be desired. Dirty tables and uninviting. I had a chopped pork shoulder sandwich. Pretty standard and nothing stood out. Slow service and just boring. read more

They close early! In fact it was closing as I stopped by before my 6:18 pm flight back to DCA. Less than a half-day escape to Memphis and had to consider departure without even getting my pork! The super-friendly cashier saw my disappointment and asked the cook to make me a to-go pork shoulder sandwich with a drink for $9.01. Delicious bbq with extra sauce and slaw. Worth the walk down to the end of B terminal even for those flying out of C. I didn't get to try anything else but why would I? read more

Just received the worst service of my life! My family and I are in Memphis currently for vacation and we wanted some good BBQ. Well we heard on food network of this place and came here very excited to try their food. Our experience started off with us walking in with no welcoming greets or faces we were just told "sit where you can find a table." So we went and sat down and waited for a server to come by with menus and to get our drink order. Well we waited a good five minutes or so and nobody brought us menus so I had to go up personally and get them myself. Then finally our server found a chance to come by and she gets our drink order then disappears and starts doing stuff for other tables. Now normally I am very tolerable because I am a server myself and understand at times you do get busy but she didn't even seem to care about us. She just took her sweet time. When she brought our drinks she told us she would be right back with straws and she took our order. Now she wrote down everything we said so we figured she would get it right considering it's hard to mess up something that's wrote down. Well then she leaves and we wait for a while to get straws and she never came back! Then I got up to go get us some straws and I go around the corner and she's sitting there with a bunch of other servers and I say "can I get four straws?" And some girl is like "sure." Then our server says out loud "oh that's what I forgot." I then proceed back to our table and sit down by this time I am incredibly frustrated. I sit down and there are nine tables in this whole restaurant and about five or six servers. How's it possible to get that awful of service with very few amount of tables. Another group of people walk in and sit at a table next to us for what it seemed like ten minutes. When our server came by and dropped off our food she kept forgetting and mixed up some of our food. Once she finally got us what was forgotten or mixed up she asked if we needed anything else. We told her no and she's like "okay, here's your ticket you pay up front when you are done. I have an emergency and have to leave." Now normally whenever you leave you get someone to take over your tables not one person kept an eye on us and our server took off. The food was okay. I got a combination platter with pork ribs and sliced pork and was broug by pulled pork instead. The pulled pork wasn't bad. My mom and brother shared a sampler platter well the sausage on it seemed over cooked, dry, and was just awful. my dad got a slab of ribs the ribs were dry and seemed over cooked. My family and myself agree the coleslaw, potatoe salad, and beans were good. That was the only good part of it. Then when we went and waited for ever for someone to come pay us out. When the lady came by and took the money she asked my dad how it was and he said "not to good." Then disappeared. Over all the worst experience of my life and we will not be returning. read more

Pretty solid, authentic barbecue especially for an airport. I went with the ribs. Yum.
