Theres not too many options at the Memphis Airport , so I opted for Nellys. But if you can, eat before you come or get something from the market next door. I ordered a regular hot dog, and a side of fries. The regular hot dog tasted like it was cooked, recooked, and recooked again. It had a leathery texture and was not moist at all. The bread was super dry and flakey. When I picked up my hot dog and bun the bun instantly broke in half and crumbled at the end. The fries were okay, if you like undercooked soggy fries. They are a medium thickness. I like a good mixture of soft and some crunchy fries and I did not receive that.

1/2 slab of ribs + small wings

Food options at MEM are simply atrocious, and sadly, I travel through there all the time. Since I like to have a glass of wine with my meal, there's literally only one option in Terminal C (Home Team Sports; 1-star Yelp venue). On my way home Friday, I. Simply. Could. Not. Go. There. Again! Since some of the locals I talked to in Arkansas suggested it, I thought I'd try Neely's at the airport. I should say strike three, but it's probably more like, strike twelve, Memphis International Airport. Wait staff are in no rush to do anything and seem indifferent about your presence. I wanted to try the wings and ribs, but there was no combo that would allow. So I ordered a small wings and 1/2 slab of ribs plate. Wings were decent although they had a salt heavy dry rub on 'em. The ribs were...not good. Fall off the bone, yes, but not in a good way. So overcooked the meat felt like a mealy apple in my mouth. While I feel like I ordered too much food (see picture), my bill only came to $24. I was full, although my palette was definitely not satisfied. Thankfully there is a new grab-in-go bar at the end of the terminal where I could wash away the flavor with some wine.

I want to go to the main location, but every time I am in Memphis at the airport this is a must. I always get the combination platter with Ribs and chopped pork. Service is spot on and if I didn't see planes I'd think I wasn't in an airport. This is not your typical airport food!! Mouth watering tangy bbq sauce! You can actually get frozen stuff to fly back with. (Next time) I may have ate so much that I had to loosen up the belt for the flight home.

Excellent Brisket! And not a rip off!

Flawless Brisket and excellent BBQ Sauce - I don't smother it like most people do, I add the sauce as I eat it. The meat was lean and the price was excellent! I love the Cashier too! She is very nice - I see her whenever I come through the airport. I am not a big fan of red meat, but when I eat it, it has to be very good and lean! THIS IS BOTH!

Dried out dehydrated ribs on the bone. The bone is easier to eat.

DO NOT EAT HERE! EVER! If your hungry and it's the only thing open, drink some water and go hungry. It's that bad! I ordered the ribs and my wife had the pulled pork sandwich. They only had three tables so we had to get it to go and ate it in the terminal. The ribs (see attached pic) were so overcooked there was no moisture in them at all. Like eating leather. When things are this overcooked there is not taste left. My wife's sandwich was better except that there was pieces of bone mixed into the meat. I know you throw the dice with food in an airport , but this may be the worst airport food ever in the history of aviation.

This was the worst experience I have ever encountered at an establishment!! Stephanie M needs retraining on how to treat customer that are buying from this establishment! She was rude to everyone in line. Her barking at your customers is just down right rude and insulting. The minute we walked in she had an attitude with all customer. She didn't have her mask on right was on her chin and would scream at you if you dare asked for anything. If this wasn't the only place open on this concourse I wouldn't come back again. I fly often and this was down right awful customer service ! If I see her working I will not be coming in!

Half slab dinner with slaw and potato salad

I knew BBQ in an airport that looked like a ghost town was going to be risky. But I was hungry and decided to give it a try. The chairs on the inside has been moved to the side but there was seating outside the store. It looked kind of dirty to be honest with you. I don't think anyone had been to clean the area for a long while. As for the food, honestly I didn't care for the ribs. I ordered a half rack and they were all dry and tough. The tangy bbq sauce, which I didnt care for flavor wise and that the ribs were covered with, didn't help. The flies really liked the ribs though. Like how did these flies get this far into the airport? One even managed to climb all the way into the little bag where I was putting the bones. Amazing. The slaw had a weird aftertaste. I can't really describe it. After a few more bites I think I got use to it and didn't mind it as much. The 2 pieces of white bread they give, seemed fresh. And the potato salad was ok. Nothing to write home about. But ok. In terminal C there aren't many food options. The other place that was open looked equally dismal.

Best nachos I ever had! They're kinda on the expensive side but so worth it. And they also give you a large amount.

This location is a large building with lots of seating options. I had to try Central as it keeps winning awards and is consistently mentioned as the top BBQ place in the Memphis area. Some of their awards were displayed at the entrance and on the walls. Lots of history. My wife ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich and had the slaw on the side so I could have it (she's not a slaw fan). I had the small order of ribs with 1/2 dry and 1/2 wet with sides of BBQ Beans and Mac n Cheese. I tried the pulled pork and it was tender and delicious. My ribs were pretty good with my favorite part being the wet ribs. The dry part was overcooked and really dry and chewy. This was a bit of a disappointment. The BBQ beans were flavorful but a bit mushy. The Mac n cheese also mushy a bit but tasted better than it looked. I love great BBQ so I like Central BBQ but may have caught them on a bad day. Oh, they were out of a lot of T Shirt options/size I wanted too. Darn. I wanted to buy one. I would return and try the brisket, pulled pork or poultry items next time.

We had the ribs and pulled pork. The ribs were good and tender and the pulled pork was good but a bit on the dry side. I just used more bbq sauce. We had a nice little meal here at this casual spot right along the western edge of Beale Street…read more Since we visited on a weekend evening, they had the whole road blocked off, so you had to enter from the north or west side to avoid entering the walkable area which requires you to pay a $5 entry. This entire restaurant is built on a slight slope, and they did not level the foundation when building out the restaurant, so if you're sitting at your table and the table is aligned north to south, you will see a slight lean to the flooring. Also, if you have any juices on your plate of food, the juices will flow toward Beale Street. I wanted to try their tamales but will have to do it on a subsequent visit. This visit we ordered the bowl of gumbo and the Memphis strip steak which is pre-cut for you. The gumbo is slightly salty but good. The strip steak was really good, filling and cooked to order. I chose new potatoes as my one side. Service here can be a little difficult depending how busy they are and how wild your fellow patrons in the restaurant can be. It took a long time to pay the bill here due to a large party coming in right when we were wanting to pay and our server was attending to them for about 15 mins while we were trying to flag him down. Other than that, we had no other problems. I would happily return the next time I'm in the downtown area and looking for food near Beale Street.

There is plenty of parking in a lot across the street. We went inside and found it to be pretty busy, but we got a table for 4 quickly. The place was clean and homey-feeling and I loved the fact that they used disposable plates, utensils and napkins! It is probably way easier on the crew to clean up, and it adds to the relaxed atmosphere. I had the corn nuggets to start, yum! We finished them easily, they were so good. Then the entree of my chicken tenders, beans, and Mac and cheese came out, along with my sweet tea. The sweet tea was perfect, I drank a whole one during my meal and they gave me another to go in the souvenir Gus's cup. The food was just great, chicken was juicy and perfectly crunchy on the outside. Beans and Mac and cheese, delicious! I ate all of it even though I was stuffed. I even went so far as to order a piece of pecan pie for dessert, but unfortunately our server came back out to tell us they were out of it! Guess it wasn't meant to be (this time)! Our server was really friendly during our whole meal, chatted with us a little and made sure we had a great experience! Bottom line.... Go to Gus's!

The atmosphere was casual and welcoming, making it a comfortable spot to grab a bite. I wasn't really a fan of the mac and cheese, as it leaned way too heavily on the processed cheese flavor and ended up overly cheesy in a not-so-great way. The texture and taste reminded me more of melted processed cheese than a rich, homemade mac and cheese. However, the service was delightful and easily made up for some of the disappointment with the sides. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the visit. While not everything hit the mark for me, the great service and tasty fried chicken make Gus's worth trying if you're in the mood for comfort food.

Brisket Combo $27 comes atop bread, it was very soft in texture, oily, vs my preferred slab of smoked beef with grainy texture intact. The crispy burnt ends were delish tho accompanied by a rack with about 1/3? less ribs. Ribs $27.50 Lg order became more meaty as I made way to small end and leftovers tasted even better next day. Dry rub is excellent black pepper, onion garlic, baked beans tangy n bit sweet, while the BBQ sauce, Hot and Regular in squeeze bottles, along with a mustard yellow coleslaw in deep plastic solos, were more vinegar forward than I recall. It definitely gave me a pucker and took me to almost end of first sitting to acclimate to that level of tang. By the next day, you are almost craving it lol so it's a building up your sour puss or maybe that it tames and mellows out somewhat next day haha. When it came to which flavors to pick, I knew I had to try their award-winning flavor, Memphis Buffalo. I'm not a big wing person, so it was just ok to me. It was good, but didn't wow me. Also, I always get boneless, so I'm not sure if the flavor is different on regular wings- so take my review with a large grain of salt if you're a big wing person. The fries were really good but the flavored versions weren't that impressive so I'd rather just stick to the regular fries. The Pineapple Habanero was really good though.
