I wasn't exactly sure what the noise was when I brought it to them. They were so kind and walked me through everything (even physically showing me). Unfortunately, they are not competent. This review is about the front desk's and the stuff services provided by the company. Extremely unhappy after waisting one hour at JL without any result. First they told me that the oil for my car needs to be ordered and will be delivered within 15 min. After 1 hour wait they asked me again what car do I have and declared that they dont have the needed oil and it has to be ordered. Unhappy driver! I brought my 2001 Jeep during my lunch break for an oil change it took longer than told. My car was up for another oil change and brought it to neighborhood auto shop and was told the oil pan plug just spins in the oil pan and to take take back to Jiffy Lube and let them know the problem so they can fix it. I brought jeep into Jiffy Lube on 1/22/22 and spoke with Gisele and Justin about the problem they offered to replace pan and gasket at my expense. My car was in their possession over 6 hours only to find out that the problem escalated to the point of now costing me $1400.00 !!! Which includes missing bolts on the oil pan and one is stripped. The staff failed to inform me about the damages that were created. I don't know if this is part of the underlying practices that take place with the owners knowledge!!! read more

Note- the purpose of this visit is only for an oil change., at least that's what I intended to do. While I was immediately greeted, the visit turned unpleasant. 1. I've been to various Jiffy Lube locations, the guy at the desk claims they scanned my VIN and couldn't find me in the system. He asked me to fill out my info without looking further. I suggested he look me up through my cell phone. Voila! Years worth of data showed up which he was adamant Jiffy Lube only keeps 18 mos of info. Then he claims, it's for my other car. Hmmmmm, quite interesting since I only have one car. 2. They do their usual cross-sell dance of pulling out the car filters and telling you that you need replacement even though they're clearly clean and still white. I told him my mechanic recently changed them. He retorts by saying he didn't change them since this air filter is the same brand they use. Then he says, you also need new transmission fluid, which I declined. I'm quite annoyed at this point since he's pressing that my own mechanic charged me for services that didn't occur. I kept my cool and just told him, I'm only interested in an oil change. He then asks, do you want your wipers replaced. Really?!!!!! Not coming back to this location. I've been going to the Jiffy lube (Campbell) by my house to get oil changes for the last 5 years. But recently I've had issues with them not being able to find my cars information and they always try to upsell me and make me feel bad if I said no. But the last two visits I've gone to this Mountain View location and both times have been great. The manager I believe checked me in and was very friendly. Then Kathryn took over to check me out. She was very nice, genuine, and informative of what's going on with my car. They vacuumed my front seats and washed my window. Everyone was customer service oriented and professional. So my battery died half a block away from this shop, which I'd never been to. After a quick call to confirm they carried car batteries, I sauntered over there to buy a battery. I also politely asked to borrow a few tools and offered to leave my credit card as collateral. They did me one better, and a tech drove me over to my car and replaced the battery for me. Literally left my car without filter because of their workers CARELESS mistakes then when the manger put back my filters AFTER driving back here they didn't even put them in right. Went in for an oil change and was told they didn't have my 016 oil but had 020. I asked if it would cause damage to my car using 020 and they said it's fine for this time but my next oil change I would need to go to 016, so there served no point in changing my oil. Came in today to get an oil change and the first thing I smell when walking into the waiting room is marijuana and liquor. I brought in my own oil, filters, and I guess the guys here were so intoxicated they misplaced it. When the short guy with cornrows asked where my oil was, I mentioned they were in the backseat (that's where I left it) and this guy decided to give me attitude because he couldn't find it. If I could, I'd give this place ZERO stars for the unprofessionalism. We'll see if they did a decent job in the morning.. hopefully my car won't be leaking any oil. When there is a 10 minute Oil Change down the street, why bother coming back here? I dropped in because my mini needs a routine service, their flyer advertised routine service. Great. So I asked: How much would it cost to service my mini here? "$35 and you'll have to wait 45 minutes to an hour for the answer" I am sorry. I am asking you how much you will charge me for a routine belt check, fluids and maybe oil, your answer is that in order to tell you that $35 and I have to wait an hour... For a quote? $35 just to tell me how much something would cost, which would take about 5 seconds to do. Not even for the service but just to even have the conversation? Then your reply is "Other people charge $70. Well I'm not there either am I? Do I look like a chump? No thanks. That only tells me that 1: you aren't price competitive. 2: you likely don't offer the services you advertize. 3: You have too many customers so are fine with turning them away to the guy literally down the street 4: Your level of service is so low and so bad that if anyone knew what you would charge up front they would run away. So that is what I did, I suggest you do the same. They don't need your business after all. read more

I went in for a normal oil change and told the staff member Ivan twice that I needed my back driver side tire filled with air. He was very polite and said no problem it will get done. I was in the area and had to replace my tire with the spare and surely it was low on air-pressure! I was looking for a place to get the tire pressure set up right before I got on the highway when I saw  this Jiffy Lube and turned into it during the late afternoon hours on Friday, Oct 23. I explained the situation to Rick/Richard - sorry, I may not be remembering the name right now - and he readily agreed to take care of it after the vehicle he was servicing was done, which I think was absolutely the right thing to do. However, shortly thereafter, I realized that I was getting way too late for another meeting as unwittingly, I had not factored the time I had taken in switching to the spare tire myself. Now, I was not sure what I could do but took my chance to share the additional dilemma with Rick. He asked me to pull over to another bay and shortly thereafter, attended to the low pressure in the spare. Thanks to him and Jiffy Lube, I had a safe ride and I was not unbearably late for the meeting! What great timely friendly service!!! Have a great time guys!!! read more

Poor customer service, rude employees. I got a flat tire, my first instinct was to safely pull over to the nearest place, which happened to be this Jiffy Lube. An employee approaches us and offers to fill the tire with air, suggested it's better to fill it with air before we try changing it. However, he said they were busy and after 10 minutes of waiting, my boyfriend decides to go ahead and change the tire. The man approaches us again, began giving us a hard time because it is "not allowed to work on your own car on the property." Okay... but what else can I do? Surely I was not going to drive with a flat tire during rush hour. We decided to continue to change the tire since we had already started. The man approaches us again, this time threatening to call the cops because we are not getting off of the property. I ask him where he suggests I go? And how does he suggest I drive with a flat? He said he didn't care, just have to be off of their property, and points to the street... (busy street during traffic time, no place to even pull over). I tell him sorry but I am not comfortable driving with a flat tire, especially one that has already been loosened. He ended up calling his manager and telling us we can finish up with changing our tire but we are not welcome back at Jiffy Lube. No worries! After this experience I wouldn't suggest anyone coming here. Who would suggest someone to drive their car in that condition??? I wouldn't trust someone who gives this advice to work on any car. This whole experience is just sad and disappointing. We're humans, emergencies happen, I understand what your "policy" may be but please don't encourage people to drive their cars in unsafe conditions, it's not worth it. OK I am going to be tough on this one. I went to this Jiffy Lube 3 months ago to perform oil change. They tried to sell me a bunch of other stuff. Just like when you buy one flight ticket and they try to have you rent hotels, cars, etc. They were nice but pushy. 2 months after, my car was smelling bad and some smoke was going out of both front wheels. I took my car to the garage and boom: oil was all other the place on the engine. What happened? Oil filter had not been properly closed. Oil has been leaking since the oil change. I trust my auto repair so I don't think they were trying to fool me. I think Jiffy Lube did a huge blunder. This may cause the car to break down. I won't try to get a refund because the amount was small but I would never give my car back to them. read more

This happened to me in September of 2011, but a friend of mine had a horrible experience with another auto place this weekend and when I told her about this, she insisted I yelp. I remember the service being quick, and them trying to upsell me something about my differential fluid (my regular mechanic assured me it was fine and didn't need changing). I also distinctly remember going to check my oil level about two weeks later and realizing the handle on my dipstick was missing. As in completely broken off. I had to dig my nails in underneath the small plastic bit that was remaining to get the dipstick out. And of course, I felt like if I even bothered to call the shop and tell them what happened, I'd get the brush off because it took me a couple weeks to catch it. Never again will I get an oil change or any kind of car service without checking over everything myself before leaving. What kind of place does this? No one else was under the hood of my car in those two weeks, and I naively trusted a professional car place to NOT BREAK MY CAR. If you break parts, at least notify me and offer me a solution. Once I discovered that, I was done with Jiffy Lube for life. I'd rather pay my regular mechanic more if it means I'm not going to discover broken stuff weeks later. read more

Went in on Monday 09/01/2014 around 6:00pm for a oil change with a friend David, there were two other customer ahead, but there was three working station, and three technician. It took the technician about 40min to complete the task. Next morning 09/02/2014, when driving the car out of the drive way there are a puddle of motor oil about slightly more than half quart, and because of work my friend David wasn't able to return to this place to have them fix the issue. Morning of 09/03/2014, David had to go to work and since I have time I drove the car back to this Jiffy Lube to get it check. The technician said the bolt wasn't screw back tight, and was about to send me out when I ask if they refilled the motor oil, they then unhappily refill the motor oil. My reason of complaint: 1. It took the technician about 30min, which was a reasonable work time, but how they screw up something they do every day. 2. Jiffy Lube should of have come and clean the drive way, because now there is a permanent stain on the property. 3. The extra time that I have to take from my personal time to go back to this place. 4. I went back and told them what happened, and they found the source of leak because one of their guy don't know how to do their job. However what disappointed me the most is I had to ask to have them refill the motor oil that was lost due to their skilled technician. This is the worst place to go for oil change, and if anyone want leaking motor oil on their drive way or garage come here. read more

I have to give major thanks to the awesome guy who helped me last night. I wish I caught his name, but he had blonde hair!! I pulled into this Jiffy Lube after hosting an event for work in Mountain View. I was in a floor length turquoise dress for the formal event and jumped into my truck to drive home to SF. All of the sudden all my gauges shifted to the left and I was scared to get on the freeway. I pulled in just as they were getting ready to close up for the night and asked the guys for help. The blonde gentleman checked everything out and showed me how to check the fluids myself should this freak me out again (probably should know that by now in my life anyway). He assured me that everything was safe and that gauges in Broncos sometimes do this unfortunately. He did not charge me, wished me a good night and I was on my merry way. Worse service I used to go to the one in Palo Alto and was just fine, however I needed to go to this one in MV and they had a very bad service! They filled up my oil and left the compartment open, I was driving and a bad smell was inside the car, the car was licking oil under and through the headlight and I was feeling afraid to catch fire or something. I opened the first part and I saw that the thing was open, and was oil everywhere, I took again to the same jiffy lube and they filled up for free, when I got home I noticed the water tank was also left open. Just to share my experience and tell everyone to open the car just to check if nothing was left open. read more

I want to preface this by saying the people here are genuinely nice and friendly. Unfortunately though, I'll never return to a Jiffy Lube again. I have a newer model Subaru and was told the last time I went there they had an issue with the bolt and it's a common issue with Subarus. They had to put in a temporary plug and never followed up with me to put in a permanent one. I called a few days later and was told it arrived and to stop by. I thought this was a one time hiccup and didn't think much of it. Today I stop by and apparently they ran into the same issue. The guy told me how the last person messed up and how he had to fire him, but instead of just saying "Hey, this is going to take a while, do you want us to start or not?" I had to wait two hours for an oil change when there was only one other person. He also told another employee that he told me to not come back last time because he hates working on Subarus. If that was the case, why not tell me from the start? He made it seem like he was doing me a huge favor by searching for the part and ordering one to arrive the next day and that he wasn't going to make me pay. I was there for two hours and had my day pretty much hijacked. I wasn't going to pay no matter what. I felt bad too because there was a woman with a newer Subaru and she was there for at least an hour with no one else. In the end it's my fault for trusting them a second time. read more
