Had an appointment scheduled weeks out to get a punctured tire patched -- rear passenger side. Simple job. Show up on time and the rep (Robert) immediately says he won't repair it. I push back and ask him specifically which puncture is actually causing the leak. He starts checking and finds out the one near the sidewall isn't even the issue -- it's the other punctures. So now the original reason to refuse goes out the window. Then he pivots. Goes over to my front driver side tire -- completely different axle, opposite corner of the car -- and says he won't service my vehicle because of the condition of that tire. Points to a specific line in their internal policy: "2/32 Inches or Less." I read it right there in front of him. That row describes what they can and can't do with a tire that IS itself at 2/32" -- it says nothing about refusing to patch a completely separate tire on a different axle. He misapplied his own policy. Also worth noting: that same policy line has a green checkmark under "Inflate" -- meaning by their own chart they'd inflate a 2/32" tire but won't touch a perfectly separate tire on the other side of the car. Make it make sense. I asked him to put the refusal and the reason in writing. Wouldn't do it. Just kept pointing at the policy -- the same one that doesn't actually back up what he was saying. And here's the part that gets me -- if it's a safety issue, why'd you let me drive off? No waiver, no documentation, nothing. Just sent me on my way with the puncture still in the tire and the "unsafe" tire still on the car. That's not a safety call, that's a sales call. Posting the policy photo so you can read it yourself. Earlier today, America's Tire even sent me an appointment reminder confirming that everything would be ready for my 8:00 AM appointment, including instructions on where to park when I arrived. That level of confidence would be fine if the store actually had the order ready. Instead, the night before my appointment, I received a call telling me that not all four tires were in stock. That is unacceptable. This was not a same-day walk-in. This was not a last-minute request. This was an order placed almost a full week in advance with a scheduled appointment. If inventory was not complete, that should have been identified and communicated well before the night before the appointment, not after I had already planned my Saturday morning around an 8:00 AM installation. The most frustrating part was the handling of the call. Luis was unable to provide a clear timeframe for when the fourth tire would be available and came across dismissive instead of solution-oriented. When a customer's appointment cannot be honored because the store failed to have the order ready, the bare minimum should be clear communication, ownership, and urgency. I had to escalate the issue to Robert, a senior manager, who was finally able to provide a more realistic update and estimated the tire would be available around 10:00 AM-ish. I appreciate Robert stepping in, but it should not take escalation to get basic accountability. The issue is not only the missing tire. The issue is the breakdown in process: America's Tire confirmed my order. America's Tire confirmed my appointment. America's Tire sent an appointment reminder saying everything would be ready. Then America's Tire called the night before to say the order was incomplete. That is a failure in inventory control, appointment management, and customer communication. If a business is going to ask customers to order ahead, schedule an appointment, and follow specific arrival instructions, then the business needs to honor that process. This store has convenient hours and availability and more tire choices than other places. I recently had my Tesla tires changed for the first time at this store for those reasons. Service was quick, but it would have been appreciated if technician had advice me/reminded me to record the new tires in my Tesla dashboard. I hit a pothole the night before and came in to the tire shop at opening time this past Saturday, as appointments were unavailable at the last-minute. Alex helped me almost immediately, and I was quoted an hour or less wait time (it ended up only taking 30 minutes). I had a warranty and knew the drill, so the process was easy peasy... staff inspected the tire at my car, checked if the tire was in stock, and I paid the certificate fee (for repair or replacement coverage). Similar to other AT shops, the waiting area had a sufficient amount of seating and a restroom available. Service lived up to the high quality and professionalism I usually get from America's Tire. Unfortunately, if you're not there to make a purchase and just for an air check, they just leave you sitting around with no acknowledgment. I went here this morning to have a tire check. I was there at 7:45 pulled my car up right at 8 AM I had tons of employees walking past me and techs in the bay staring at me and nobody assisted or acknowledged me. I finally got up and went into where people would go inside. And one employee thankfully kept trying to call someone to go to my air check while I stood in line, but nobody would come so I finally had to leave. Then when I called to express my frustration I was met with no remorse and told that they were all busy. And I asked if it's normal to just sit there and not be greeted for 20 minutes, especially when I got there before you guys even opened. Unfortunately I purchased my tires here, but was met with terrible service after. So I guess you are only important when spending money. read more

I came here to do tire rotation for my Tesla model Y. I called them the day before asking if need to schedule an appointment. Luckily they're not too busy on the weekday before 4pm but definitely recommended on the weekend to schedule an appointment. Super fast service, I actually got lucky to book an appointment the same day and was able to pick up 20-30 minutes after the appointment. Super friendly staff, but surprisingly the day that I went was super busy. I definitely would like to give feedback that, my car was kind of parked closer to the exit in a non parking spot, it felt like it was in the middle of blocking entrance and exiting. So just me being on edge, it's a risk of getting hit. That's just my feedback if possible, please park in a parking spot when available. read more

I asked for a quote that I could review with my husband and he set me up with a text-based link that we later reviewed. This was super helpful in making an informed decision. We also needed to replace our TPMS sensors and windshield wipers so my husband and I reviewed our options on their web site. I tried making an appointment online but the first available would have been May 5 which would be fine. I wanted to get the car situation taken care of so the next morning I returned hoping for a slot and I was seen right away! Jose was helping another customer but Ryan was just as helpful! He explained the device used to check the tire pressure sensor and windshield wiper options. After getting checked in I was given a link that would update me on the process. The enshittification of America's Tire is happening. Their customer service used to be what set them apart. Super helpful staff, hassle-free air pressure checks, and especially fixing flats at no extra cost made tires easy. Now it's a pain. The parking lot is overrun and unmanaged. I parked in the lot and stood in the rain waiting for the busy air station to open up, then asked the employee helping there if I could move my car in. He said yes, but let a car that had just entered the lot take the space instead. I can't blame the driver but it's disappointing that the staff didn't care. I tried to make an appointment to have the tires rotated. I was told there was no appointment until tomorrow. I couldn't commit to that because it was my wife's car and she needed it then. I asked again about getting it done today, and magically there was in fact an appointment available in about three hours! I wasn't prepared to spend 3+ hours at America's Tire so I asked when they would need the car. "Just leave the keys", I was told. Since I'd just been told it would be hours before they could do the rotation I asked when they'd start work on the car (I would normally walk the two miles home, but I wasn't prepared for the rain so I hoped I could keep the car for a bit longer and bring it back). "I don't know" and a blank stare was the response, so I left without an appointment. I stopped at Big O Tires down the block. Plenty of room in the parking lot and bays ready to receive. But since I didn't buy the tires there it would cost $30. This made me feel stuck with a business that has me captured by sunk costs and no longer needs to provide the same value or level of service to keep me in their ecosystem. When home I decided to make that appointment for tomorrow. I tried using the website and found it a pain. It gets stuck without proper capitalization of the make or model. It requires I know the trim package option name. I usually just give them my name or phone number in person. So I bailed and called the shop directly, where I was put on hold and have been waiting for 30+ minutes. Plenty of time to write a review. read more

(There are a bunch of places across El Camino where you ca get lunch.) The wait is still 30 mins when replacing 2 tires. You could be waiting longer if there is a long queue line which I was in at 11:00am on a Thursday. I booked this appointment 3 weeks ago and to be honest I thought it would be faster with the amount of tires I would be replacing. There is always a long queue line. I was frustrated with the service at first because it took over a month to receive my order. I ordered a hubcap for my car on January 10th at the shop. The staff member assured me it would take only a few days and promised to call when it arrived. After more than 10 days passed with no word, I called on January 20th and was told the order was delayed due to a holiday. A month passed without a call, so I contacted the shop again on February 19th. A staff member confirmed the part was in and asked me to come in. Unfortunately, when I arrived, Denton found it was the wrong part. Although it wasn't his fault, he took ownership, immediately reordered the correct part, and told me to check back in a few days. I returned on the 27th, and it was the correct part. He installed it for me and kept apologizing for the long wait. I was very impressed by his professionalism and kindness. Stopped by on a Monday because my Toyota Camry "low tire pressure" light kept popping up and I live and work in the area, so I stopped by. Parked my car next to the tire pressure check machine and little did I know that some Vietnamese lady went inside to request her Tire pressure be checked for her White Model Y Tesla. And the America's Tire Associate asked me if I mind? Yes i do mind. First of all I've been an America's Tire customer for years since 2018 and I've always been told to just pull up or park next to the tire pressure check machine/area and they'll check my tire pressure. And I was already parked next to the tire pressure machine and the Vietnamese lady was parked in one of the parking spaces. And she had to go get her car. I wasn't going to move my car, so the associate told her to park beside me! And proceeded to help her out first I'm very disappointed in this location. People who own Tesla's aren't that special and are normal people too. Is she that important just cuz she drives a Tesla? read more

Went to America's Tire to repair replace, but her tires were showing the wear bars and with rainy season upon us we opted to buy four tires. Exec summary: OUTSTANDING for: ease of pre-ordering online, fair price, easy check-in procedure, a very friendly, attentive, and efficient team, and a very clean facility inside and out. All the benefits of a chain in terms of pricing and availability, but the team really made it feel like a small shop that cares. Details: I needed a replacement set of tires soon, anyway, due to age, and then two sprung a slow leak. The dealer was booking 3 weeks out, and Tire Track wasn't going to deliver very quickly. I checked online, and A's T had stock of the tires that I wanted at several locations. And as it turns out, I had a several hour block today between rides in the southern Peninsula. Both this location and another had stock, but this one was closer and had a slightly better rating. So, I ordered the tires online yesterday evening. You can optionally book an appointment at the same time, so I grabbed the earliest one (11:15am). However i was free much earlier than that so I arrived at 7:50am and there were only two people already there. They opened a few min early and it was very quick to check in since I pre-ordered. They said they could have me put in less than hour (I was fearing much longer!). I had some special requests and I could really feel the service advisor understood what I was asking for. The waiting room was very clean there's a window at the end where you can see into the shop. My car ended up first in the shop and it was truly amazing how they had two teams (one for each side) working simultaneously to get it done rapidly, each with their own mounting and road force balancing machines. I felt line a F1 driver for a bit, with my own pit crew. You could really see them work together as a well-oiled machine and the supervisors were helping in too. I was really impressed. They took extra care with the road force balancing and achieved a very successful result, which was important for me to provide my customers an ultra smooth ride. I've watched a lot of people bumble through using (and misusing) the hunter RF balancers, but it was clear this team had training. That's a big plus for me. At the end, they did a nice job cleaning up the wheels and tires, which isn't something many places do, and i was on my way less than an hour after arriving. I couldn't believe it! I will be back for certain, even though they are three counties away from where I live. read more

Sabine Wimmer 4 reviews The whole operation is a bit sketchy. We ended up having to ask for a refund for a surprise charge that was never discussed and ended up with an addiationl flat tire that happened while the car was in their care. We had a flat tire and came into the lot with the donut on the right front wheel. All our four tires were Continental and only a year old from American tire in Palo Alto. They first wanted to convince us to buy four more tires, but our tires were sufficiently new that we declined. We only wanted two tires for the front. The sales person said that they only had Michelin tires for $311 per tire in stock. I asked when the Continental could be delivered and the price of it and they told us that they would only come a day later but they would only be $250. For the sake of speedy exchange, we agreed to buy two more expensive Michelin tires. The total came out to $800+ and once I had paid I was informed that I also had bought a sort of certificate that entitled me to a free tires if anything would happen to my new tires to the tune of $62 per tire - a total of $124. I was surprised that they didn't tell me and ask me before adding it to the bill. The sales person tried to convince me by saying that he drove over a pothole and then got a free replacement. I am immune to these kinds of anecdotal testimony from a sales person and I ask for immediate reimbursement. Lo and behold when we came to pick up the car, I was informed that (1) they had rotated the tires - now the new tires were in the rear and the old Continental tires were in front and (2) during this rotation process they had discovered that one of the former rear tires had a nail in it and couldn't be repaired. We were surprised that we had driven in with a known flat tire and then they discovered another issue. The pick-up sales person said "let's have a look." And a look we had: the tire now was flat! So we had dropped off a flat tire (we had exchanged the flat tire with our donut) and dropped off the car with three perfectly fine tires and while the car was at this American tire location, one of our tires had surprisingly gone flat due to a screw. That all sounded weird and we just wanted to exchange our donut for the flat tire and drive away. Regrettably, we did have evening engagements and work the next day, so the sales person offered us to exchange the two old "Continental" tires with Michelin tires at a discount. We really didn't want to give them more of our money, but timewise it was the most convenient. We agreed to buy two more tires (as they had pushed us to buy in the beginning). So we did have two unpleasant interactions with this American Tire location and still feel weird about working with a company in the business of fixing flat tires and then at pick-up see that there is a new flat tire. Our advice: check exactly what they are billing you for - any "certificate charges" that were not discussed before charged to you - and make sure you check all your good tires before you hand your vehicle over to them. read more

Have been a loyal America's Tire customer for over 10 years now for both of our family cars. Great prices and service - they even match Costco pricing! Had to mention my latest interaction this week and call out a great employee, Alex, who is the assistant manager. After a not-so-pleasant experience with another manager-type at that location (not mentioning names as I don't want to throw him under the bus!), Alex came in and literally saved the day. He was pleasant, patient, understanding, and helpful. Most of all, he made sure customer satisfaction was his top priority! My situation was a little complicated as it included a broken stud and stripped lug nuts. I had to visit a local mechanic that they recommended to get that changed first (on their dime!). Once that issue was resolved, I was able to go back to Americas Tire to get two new tires at a discounted rate (Pro Tip: the tire extended service warranty is worth every penny!) and my car safely driveable again. Will continue to use Americas Tire for all my tire needs. And have readily recommended them to hundreds of people, without hesitation! read more
