They seem fairly new but they provide great service and I believe an introductory offer for a full diagnosis of your vehicle when you take it in. The process was pretty quick and the shop was very responsive and even though I did not elect to get additional work done, (I can do a lot of the regular maintenance stuff myself, really just wanted the diagnostic) I appreciated the constant updates on the work getting done, making it a very "stress-free" experience. I have to say I have mixed experiences with my brake pad/rotor services... One of the new brake system installed have had problems like constant grinding noise, reversely installed brake pad (yes i did not make this up) and brake pad that making clicking sound whenever I press brake for the 1st time after changing gear (this turns out to be the pad installed is a bit smaller in size and not tightly fitting into the system). I went back to the shop 3 times over the course of ~9 months, each time discovering some issues and replacing the pad/disk (this is where i felt good about the shop, everyone welcomed me back and did the diagnose and replacement for free). I end up relacing the two front pad/disk with another brand (zimmerman? that's what i heard) and resolved all issues. Maybe I just got unlucky, but I have to leave my honest and true experience which exhausts me over the last year (imagine every time you back out of your garage and hearing this "click" sound from your brake system, with a baby in a car. I was quoted around $160 for an oil change and approximately $350 for a check engine light diagnostic, not including whatever repairs might be needed afterward. The total felt pretty high, so I decided to shop around before committing. I'm really glad I did. After calling a few other local shops, I was able to get all the same services done for $230 total, including the oil change and diagnosing the check engine light. I can't speak to the quality of Stress Free Auto Care's work since I didn't move forward with them, but based on my experience getting a quote, I'd strongly recommend that others compare prices before deciding. I love that you can kinda see what the fee will be (estimate) I made the appointment online everything was seamless. I went in the two gentleman were so friendly and they checked me in. Even offered me a Lyft. I was just there to get my car assessed. They found some issues that may be causing the noise. I wasn't ready to get the work done and they totally understood and didn't pressure me or anything! I'll be honest--I chose this place because of the name Stress-Free Auto, but overall my experience turned out to be more stressful than I expected. On the positive side, I appreciated the transparency, the clean environment, and how easy it was to communicate through text and get updates. I also really liked the convenience of being able to get my car in quickly and have it ready the same day. I like that they showed the full cost breakdown. That said, I did feel like they could easily take advantage of someone who doesn't know much about cars. It also gave me the impression that they might lead customers into paying for services they don't necessarily need. Because they didn't have the full history of my car, it seemed like they could have easily recommended THOUSANDS of dollars of work that might not have actually been necessary. Even for a simple oil change, I ended up spending more than I had anticipated. Overall, while there were things I liked, the experience left me with mixed feelings. Visited this place 4 times in the last year and a half. Our 2017 Honda Civic was bottoming out on the cracks in the freeway, after driving over deep potholes in Lake Tahoe back roads. 6/19/23 took it to Stress-Free, and they diagnosed the problem as leaking shock absorbers, showing me pictures of the problem. $600 for 2 new shocks for a car with only 21,820 miles? Could not blame the pot holes for all the problem, as we bought this car as a demo back in 2018 with 6500 miles, and you know how customers take it out on loaners by driving nonstop over speed bumps. Driving home from Thanksgiving, my 2017 Honda Fit was bottoming out on cracks in the freeway. Two new shocks needed? Took it to Stress-Free, and they diagnosed the problem as only pins falling out holding the underpan on the engine cover. It would periodically scrape the bottom when traveling at speed. $122.50 to fix the loose skid plate. Tossed in the $113.20 oil change, and $64.60 wiper blades. Free multi-point digital inspection during all visits. And they told me I didn't need a new battery despite the battery being 7 years old. They take pictures of all potential problem areas. Only problem I've had with this place is finding a place to park. Only 10 full size parking spots, and 7 of them filled by overnighters when they open at 8am. Three micro parking spots only for cars smaller than my subcompact Honda Fit. read more

My wife used this location for 2018 BMW 330i current only over 70k mileage. This February the car had a a coolant level low light and this location made full diagnosis and replaced the water pump cost $1410. However, last week the car got another coolant low level light and the estimate is now over $1600. The water pump replaced in Feb also got replaced in August 2024 in Stevens Creek Dealership under factory warranty, my wife didn't ask why the water pump got replaced again just over a year new. read more

I had my timing belt and water pump replaced by this shop. They charged me almost $2,000. What bothers me is they did not replace the coolant lost during the repair. Being mechanically inclined, I do my due diligence when it comes to maintenance, so, I checked my coolant reservoir. It was empty. I called, deaf ears answered the phone. I complained via text message and was told they bought and used coolant to replace what was lost. That is a lie. They added zero coolant and that's a recipe for disaster. Aluminum heads and blocks don't take kindly to too much heat. They tend to warp. read more

It was great to get my car in quickly, help with the inspection, and even the offer to drive me home or give me $15 for an Uber. There are a couple problems. First is that other Yelp auto shops messaged me and offered to do an alignment for $150 or lower (I have Tesla Model 3), while Stress-Free charged me $250. Second, they were going to make sure the suspension wasn't off first before doing the alignment to make sure it wasn't the problem. They didn't. They did the alignment and I still have the same problems. On the bright side, they were very friendly to help in every other sense. Grateful for that. read more

I've been a customer here for years, but this latest experience was unacceptable. During a recent oil change, the technician overfilled my vehicle with oil, which led to a leak. I went to get an alignment here. They charge much more than other places but it was a convenient place for me to go. Last time I'm going here as not only I had to come back 3 times for my car to run straight(they couldn't hold the steering wheel straight when doing the alignment somehow), they left a steering rack bolt loose which could have cause a serious accident. I started going to Stress-Free a few years ago because it's very conveniently located relative to where I live. I am consistently impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of all the employees I talk to, and like that they offer the flexibility of staying or leaving while they are doing repairs/maintenance. I had to take my car in a couple weeks ago to get a flat tire replaced; while there, I was told it would be prudent to have the other three wheels replaced, as well as the front and rear brakes. The employee gave me a detailed but clear breakdown of why the work needed to be done, so I felt confident moving forward with the recommended services. I also mentioned that I did not have a terribly large repair budget and only wanted them to do what was truly necessary to keep the car running safely and reliably. The employee was responsive to my concern, and gave me a slightly lower estimate after eliminating a service that could be deferred for a little while. When I went to pick my car up after hours, it was very easy (stress-free) getting the keys from a locker outside the shop; the person who notified me that my car was ready was kind enough to text me after hours to send me the code, which impressed me! I'm extremely disappointed with my recent STRESSFUL experience. I won't be back, and I wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone looking for fair pricing or transparency. I brought my car in for a possible coolant leak, hoping it might be related to the thermostat or hose that this same shop had previously replaced and might be covered under warranty. They said they'd check and let me know. After a $560 diagnostic fee -- yes, $560 just for a diagnosis -- they told me it wasn't covered. What's frustrating is that during our phone call, I was clearly told: "If it's not covered under warranty, it would not be much more than the price that I just sent you in total. I think it was 500 something. Right?" That gave me the impression the repair -- even if not covered -- would be in the same ballpark as the $560 diagnosis. But after the inspection, they quoted $1600 for the fix. When I declined, they still demanded the full $560(settled for $280) just for looking at it. This felt misleading and borderline predatory. I got it fixed for $700 at another reputable shop, with full transparency and no pressure tactics. The $1600 quote here was completely out of line, and the initial reassurance about price turned out to be meaningless. read more

Stress-free strives to give a good experience--but they disappointed me this time. First, the good: Very courteous and service-oriented. When I arrived, the staff told me when my car would be ready, and it was ready when they said it would be. Good communication--he updated me during the process so I knew when the work started and that the car was almost ready. The waiting room has a few seats, a bathroom, hot water and tea bags, a coffee machine thing, and a selection of attractive snacks and the space was clean and pleasant. Now the gripes: 1) we made the appointment over the phone. I got the text confirmation--but it was for an incorrect day! We got that fixed and I had a 9:00 appointment on the correct day. (Just to vex me further-- today I got a reminder text for the incorrect appointment!) 2) I arrived promptly at 9 and was told the car would be ready at 11:30. The tech didn't even start work on the car unless about 10:30-since there were cars ahead of me, the car just sat in the lot for 90 minutes. Why did I have a 9:00 appointment then? (The car was indeed ready by 11:30; 11:15, even). I was very frustrated to have to sit there knowing I was over an hour early! Use this shop--but make a plan to drop off the car. I needed new front brakes for my Porsche Macan. Over the phone they told me they would have the parts for my car. When I arrived for my appointment they didn't have the parts and said they had to "measure" the rotors and then it will take days for the parts to come in. Why didn't they tell me that in advance? Why didn't they just ask over the phone or text? Why can't they just look it up with the year, make, model, and VIN. Even worse the guys behind the desk told me it was my fault for not texting them the VIN. They never asked for the VIN so they could order parts. This is a sketchy business and the guys working there can't be trusted. I'll be taking my car somewhere else. read more

My car needed a certain repair very urgently so it was safe to even drive. I walked in right at opening and was greeted by Michael who was very friendly and accommodating. I showed him the problem and he didn't want me to drive off without fixing it since it was fairly large safety issue. Despite having a full schedule and being short staffed, he made sure that I would be able to get my repair done that day. They stayed opened passed closing hours to make sure they fit my repair in. I appreciated the honesty and integrity of this shop. Pricing and the work needed was very transparent.
