I brought my car to this location on a Saturday morning at 7:45am to get a state inspection. The guy that I dealt with was super friendly and accommodating. He let me know that the man who performed inspections would not be on site until 10am, and there was not a guarantee that he would be able to get to my car right at 10am. I asked if it was ok to leave the car with them overnight, because I would be heading out of town in a few hours and not returning until the following day. He said that was no problem. I thanked him, gave him my key fob, and left. I returned the following afternoon around 2pm and saw that my car was parked inside one of the bays. I told the man, who I recognized from an earlier visit as the self-identified, "only one who performs inspections" and "Assistant GM", that the car parked in the bay was mine and asked if they had finished the inspection. "That's been done for days", he replied. I told him that I had just dropped my car off the day before, so that wouldn't be possible. I walked inside to pay for the inspection and the first thing he said to me was, "I was hoping you were gonna pick it up yesterday, I finished with it yesterday. I had to pull it into the bay overnight." He seemed pretty put out with that fact. I let me know that I spoke to one of the guys there the day before to make those arrangements, and his response was "Oh yeah, little red-headed leprechaun dude?" I said, " He had red hair but I don't know if he was a leprechaun." He then said, "We call him him that because he's drunk all the time." I was beyond ready to be done with the conversation at this point and just wanted to have my car pulled around so I could leave. He gave me the key fob and said "You're all set." I could see that my car was still parked in the bay, so I asked "Just drive it out of the bay?" "Yes, just don't hit anything" was his response. That seemed really out of the ordinary to me because every garage I've visited before has had very strict safety measure to ensure a customer DOESN'T enter the mechanics bays. I had reached the end of my patience and opted to just drive my car out myself instead of engaging in further conversation with the guy. I will definitely not be back. read more

Brought my Mercedes in because also had to get tires next door because, well, it's a Mercedes and it burns oil. They topped me off with no charge. Greatly appreciate the service. They lost one star because the bathroom and rest of the waiting area are in need of a real good cleaning. Pay somebody $50 to come in twice a day to clean and it'd be well worth it. read more

I have been to this location 4 times, once to get try to get an inspection, the other 3 for an oil change. I was told when I went for an inspection that someone would not be in until later, so I left and went somewhere else. Now as far the oil changes each time I went it was going to be a 2 to 3 hour wait. I felt each time they really did not want me there because of the way they said it. The last time I asked if I could leave the key and car and walk over to Home Depot, the man said yes. So went in to leave the key and let them know what type of oil change. I waited 10 minutes at the counter and no one ever came in, so I left and went to Walmart and got better service and better deal. I went for an oil change and noticed my battery light had turned on. They were super quick and I asked if they could replace my battery for me. They didn't have the one I needed in stock but said they could have autozone bring one. Well my battery died while they were ringing me up so I had to of course wait. Autozone was taking their sweet time but all the guys at Jiffy were so polite and nice. They kept calling to see if autozone was on their way. It was hot and I had my 4 year old and baby with me. They brought us inside, put cartoons on and even gave my daughter some candy. Really could not ask for better customer service. Will be back again!! read more

RECEIPT SHOWED SERVICES THAT WERE NOT ACTUALLY PERFORMED I would have given these folks zero stars, except that I complained via email and received two phone calls from their corporate office within 24 hours. In short, the receipt showed that a number of things (tire pressure, fluid topped-off, floors, vacuumed, window exteriors cleaned, and power steering fluid ) were checked, when in fact they were not. Yup, the receipt said they performed service when they actually did not. They also said the air filter needed to be replaced. Guess, what. It didn't need to be replaced. You know, I don't really mind about the windows not being cleaned or the floor being vacuumed. But, it really hacks me off that they fibbed. Corporate said they would "take care of things". My letter to Jiffy Lube: I am officially a long-time FORMER customer. I went to your Bastrop location to find out if I needed an oil change. You see, my wife is about to go on a 6 hr trip to South Texas to see her dad and I wanted to make sure that everything with her car is up to date and working properly. The last time we went in for an oil change your people didn't set the car's computer back to zero so the car was telling us we needed an oil change when we just had one. You did leave a sticker in the windshield BUT the number seemed to be off as it read, 65,987 and my odometer reads 57K +/-. This morning at about 8:30 I pulled into your service drive just to find out if I needed an oil change or not. I asked them NOT to look at the sticker but rather to look at the computer to see when I had my last oil change. I told the young man who took my plate number down that I would pull around to the front so I didn't block the drive. FYI, they were servicing 2 vehicles at the time. When I pulled around to the front and went inside I was told that it would be 30 minutes to get the information. I said, "30 minutes just to find out if I need an oil change or not?" and Chuck, who was standing in front of a computer said, "yes, we have these customers we're trying to take care of"....I said, "I understand. I'm not asking you to change my oil, I'm just trying to find out if it needs to be changed or not." I was trying to determine if I needed an oil change because I was trying to schedule another service with the Chevy dealership and only wanted to know so I could coordinate the two events. I went inside to see if I could find a manager but apparently Chuck is your manager. I started walking to my car but decided to let Chuck know how unhappy I was with the way he treated me so I turned around walked back into your bay and told Chuck and everyone else that I'd been coming to Jiffy lube for a long time now and that I would NEVER set foot on the property again. Chuck turned around long enough to salute me and I left. You guys have always been great. Well, except for the time you didn't tighten the oil pan nut and/or spilled oil all over my truck engine and it leaked all over the drive way. But even then, your guy came to my neighbor's house to clean it up. LMAO, yes, you read that right. You guys caused an oil spill and your manager said he'd come clean up my driveway. Only problem was, he was across the street 2 houses over, cleaning up my neighbor's driveway when I walked out to check on him. Ok, I hardly EVER write a review for a non food related establishment. But I had a surprisingly good experience here. The technician noticed that the faceplate on my radio was disconnected and that the radio itself was sliding around in the housing. He asked me how long it had been like that, and I told him since I was not handy, it had been like this for a year or more. This awesome guy (I know I should know his name, but I forgot...ADD to blame) fixed my radio, installed the faceplate properly and made my car whole again :) He did not ask for a penny (and although I may have forgotten his name, I did not forget to tip the guy :) Now if only Jiffy Lube would pick up on this story of "Surprise and Delight" and figure out a way to ensure that it is woven into their training - then we would ALL be Jiffy Lube Customers! read more

Worst experience ever and don't go here! I was traveling through this area and stopped for an oil change, when I got home noticed custom valve stem caps were missing, called continuous for 2 days until they finally answered the phone and spoke to someone whom I thought was a manager. (Trey which took like 3 times me asking the mangers name). Trey is the worst and rudest employee ever! From the reviews why does he still have job here??!! When I asked how come a place of business took 2 days to answer the phone he became very unprofessional and irate. After this rude behavior I became agitated myself and we both started to exchange words, his more threatening than mine! Have reported this experience and location to their corporate headquarters and still have yet to here back from them! Imagine that! All because I wanted to see if they could mail me the items. I went here a few weekends ago to get an oil change. The bathroom is disgusting and had piss all over it and lord knows what else all over the seat and floor plus there wasn't any soap to wash my hands but what can you expect, it is a mechanic shop. Also the coffee tasted like dirt from China but anyways that's besides the point. I really do wish I could give them more stars than this but the service was below average. They weren't very friendly and lack in communication and customer service department. I have a brand new Veloster and the gentleman was telling me that it would be over $100 for an oil change? When I told him that I've never had to pay that much at other jiffy lube's and asked if he could talk to my dad on the phone he suddenly got all toungue tied. Trying to scam me much? I know I'm a Woman but I wasn't born yesterday. And then had the audacity to tell me the coupon on their website for a discount was expired even though on the website it says it doesn't expire until February. Anywho, I asked to speak to someone else and James (Manager) apparently "lowered" my cost once I stood my ground. I was caught a couple of hundred of miles from home with the dreaded service overdue sign flash across the dash of my MB E320 CDI ... I pulled off the highway and thank my lucky stars for finding Jiffy Lube # 3176 open .... Chris L did not blink at handling the import and did a fantastic job!!! Besides the oil change there was also a 20 pointt inspection and explanation of findings +++ there was more!!! he even cleared the error codes previous service technicians could not !!! Do not go to this business or spend one dollar here. I went for a routine oil change on Sat Oct 29, 2016, and an hour and a half and almost $100 later when I pulled out of their parking lot, my transmission "suddenly" was high pitched squealing and when I accelerated, it had difficulty shifting and lurched like I was pulsing the gas. I immediately turned around and went back. They "checked" it and found "nothing wrong". I left again. It continued to get worse so I went back again the next day- telling them they clearly did something to my car incorrectly. I told them it is my only vehicle as a single mom and I have a long commute. The manager made a point to tell me how the transmission box was "factory sealed" and all they did was change my oil. They said I needed to take it back to Nissan for service because they don't have the tools to check or top off transmission fluid for my type of car. That is the only honest thing that was said. I drove it home to Austin (no choice) and to work 45 min away today, and went to a repair shop at lunch. They immediately told me the symptoms indicate no transmission fluid and checked it out. It was obvious upon inspection that JIFFY LUBE had accidentally drained my transmission fluid pan instead of my oil. They don't have the proper type of spout to refill it, so they sealed the gasket with some bright red paint stuff- that they claimed was "factory" and hadn't ever been opened. They sent me on my way playing dumb, with no transmission fluid. I guess they thought I wasn't ever going to look under my car to see the same fresh red paint sealing the gasket of the oil pan too. I am very lucky my transmission didn't break completely and need replacement. I drove about a hundred miles on no fluid as it was a weekend. The manager who explained all this to me on my multiple trips to JIFFY LUBE may or may not have known what happened, I couldn't see the tech who actually did the work. BUT it was obvious what happened with inspection, and they didn't own up to the mistake even with multiple hours spent and trips back. I called the Austin store, as Bastrop El t take my call, and they told me it was a stupid mistake and obvious. As a woman bringing my car somewhere to keep it safe for my kids- I feel very taken. I am now out hundreds more dollars to correct a ridiculous mistake. Their philosophy I believe was to let me take my chances and let Nissan and me pay the bill for their mistake. The worst car service experience in my life, and I'm very sorry I turned in there for an oil change. read more

Here it is 8 months later and I decided to give them one more chance as I was desperate and thought maybe they got a new manager or something. Their service manager Amanda, doesn't know how to do her job and isn't educated on what is she is exactly supposed to know so that she could actually be competent at her job. I wish I could give them zero stars. I had a bad experience with them the first time I got my oil changed. I had paid to get everything topped off and checked, which was STATED on my receipt but DID NOT actually happen. My windshield fluid was empty, windows not cleaned, my tires pressure not checked, the windows not cleaned, and did not turn off my change oil light. Which I PAYED for. However, decided to give them one more try. THE SAME THING, I even politely asked to make sure they did since it had not even properly done the first time. My sister in-law who was with me both times even asked to make sure. It WASNT. Yet... Why did my receipt once again say they did? I've never been more outraged about their customer service, how they take care of their "customers". This place is absolutely terrible. I WILL ADVISE YOU TO make the drive to Austin or Elgin..SOMEWHERE ELSE. Besides Jiffyy lube of bastrop. It's worth driving somewhere else to get your car properly taken care of, because they surely can't. I will never recommend this place, I will advise otherwise. Went in to get an oil change and an inspection. First off, my car is 10 years old, so it isn't in pristine condition underneath. I get it, but apparently they do not. As I was waiting in the lobby, I heard my horn blow for the inspection. Being again a 10 year old car, the horn is not as loud as it used to be, but it works. I heard some chatter in the garage concerning the horn and if it needed to be louder to pass. Next, they find that my power steering reservoir is a little low, (they said it was empty which was false, it still registered on the dipstick ) and that the bottom of the car was CAKED with dried fluid (again false) They said they would not pass the vehicle in this condition. I am extremely disappointed that I went there. I usually do my own maintenance on my vehicles and the day before I completely changed out the radiator in this car. The fluid that they seen underneath the car was antifreeze and a little transmission fluid from the radiator change out. That explanation didn't make a difference, and they still wouldn't pass the inspection. After seeing how frustrated I was they did not charge me for the inspection and I told them to just pull it out of the garage and I would do the oil myself. Bottom line, I wouldn't trust ANY of these jackasses that work there to do maintenance on my vehicles. They are just a bunch of flunkies on a power trip!!! read more

Five stars to the Jiffy Lube guys last weekend. It was late in the day. The sky was overcast, the wind was picking up, and it looked like a big storm was blowing in. I, of course, made the poor decision that it was a perfect time to get my not-fancy Jeep convertible(!) inspected. When I arrived at Jiffy Lube I realized that the guys were working short handed which probably also meant they were tired. That did not slow them down! Don't go here. Turn around and go somewhere else. It took over two hours to change my oil with at least three techs on duty and no other cars in the bay. Checking in was a nightmare: I'm pretty sure the person checking me in was drunk. She put me in the system as having an '84 Chevy Blazer, which is close since I drive a 2013 Ford Escape, but after I pointed the error out she got me down for the right car. The tech did not put the skid plate on tightly and frankly, I'm not convinced they topped off fluids like they do at the other high-functioning franchise locations. Oh, and they didn't air up my tires even after I specifically asked them to. The only thing they did according to plan was charge me the full amount. At least I left with the right car? read more

Bad bad experience here. I brought my car in for an oil change and I had my own oil, because that's what I've always done. Now I'll tell you I don't know much about cars or the inner workings of jiffy lube as a company, but apparently jiffy lube doesn't allow customers to use their own oil. If the employee who had spoken to me had simply said "Jiffy Lube doesn't allow customers to use their own oil" I'd have been cool and just returned it and got their oil, but instead this employee comes up to me and says "Are you trying to get me fired? Customers aren't allowed to use their own oil man, I mean it's offensive to us, we sell oil here" So I had them pull my car out of the bay and went to get my oil done elsewhere. read more

Aside from the long waits and the many times an inspector is NOT on duty (requiring multiple return trips), this location is staffed by a manager with a cocky in-your-face attitude. I am so glad I took the time to find a better place to go in Bastrop. Save your money, your time, your patience and your patronage and avoid this location like the plague. read more

I have been a loyal Jiffy lube customer for years. That being said....my experience today in Bastrop was very probably my last attempt at this location at least. I know not all franchises are created equal so I won't hold it against the whole. I drove up today, all doors were closed (it's hot), no cars in bays. Two very young looking fellows were inside making it very obvious that they weren't doing anything. No-one could come out in Jiffy lube fashion and greet me so I walked into the lobby. A third employee was slowly moving around and grunted at me in recognition of me standing there. He said something to someone else in the office before taking another customers money. TOTAL lack of any type of sense of urgency by any 4 of the employees. I waited a few minutes for my turn but the stench of the lobby and the disgust I felt for any type of customer service or urgency made me walk out and go elsewhere. This is not the first time that I have felt this about this location but I have given other opportunities to change my mind....I think that my mind is made up. There are other and hopefully better options in Bastrop and I will find them instead of returning for this extremely mediocre experience. read more

Will not be going back here again for an oil change. Used to paying $39 in Houston and was told $41.99 here after pressuring the manager as nothing was posted in lobby. Then when we checked out, somehow the bill jumped to $65. Was told an extra can of oil had to be put in my car. That costs $20+??? Very shaky. Don't trust them... read more

The other local place tried to tell me all these things were wrong and needed to be fixed (they tried to take advantage of a woman). Great, fast, professional service. This crew is trying very hard to win the respect and loyalty of their customers and IT SHOWS. I visited for a state vehicle inspection today and drove away very happy. I must admit this was the last place I was going to try since I had bad experiences in the past at this particular location shortly after it was built. Lucky for me it looks like they have a whole new crew (or at least a new attitude) and actually had inspectors working today (Sunday) whereas every other shop I stopped at either had no inspector on duty or said the inspector would not have time to do any more inspections for the day. As for the service, everyone was very prompt, courteous and had a no-slack hustle about them keeping busy tidying the waiting area or stocking products when no cars were in for service. When an issue arose with my park brake not holding, the inspector (Joe) took the time to explain exactly what the state requires to pass the test and even said that if I could get it fixed and come back before they close that he would do the inspection again. After I adjusted the park brake accordingly, I returned and he kept to his word finishing the inspection. He went above and beyond taking the time to apply the new sticker with careful positioning and even cleaned up the small pieces of the old sticker that inevitably end up all over the dash and floor (which I thought was a bit of overkill considering how filthy my truck is). When it came time to settle the bill, Eric was very informative and up to date on the state of my vehicle's service. He had me back on the road in no time flat. read more

I was traveling through and my car broke down on a Sunday. I was able to make to the parking lot of Jiffy Lube and got out to investigate. An employee named JR came out as I was searching for the cause. Jr. quickly discovered the problem, a broken thermostat housing, and offered to fix it after they closed. They explained everything so that I understood exactly what they were doing and why. They even pointed out that the previous place I had gone to had used the wrong oil.
