Now they want to accept return but CHARGE 20 percent restocking fee for which will be approximately $2200 !!!!!!! Seriously, waiting a week to just hear back why the warranty is not covering it. I bought chlorine tablets and filled the dispenser with them. I bought shock liquid from Ordini's and I put some in. When I was finally ready to go in the pool I wanted to get the water tested first. I brought pool water to Ordini's for them to test. I think it was Tim who first took my water, but it was taking long. Turned out that apparently I did something incorrectly and whatever colors the test strips were turning weren't even ON the color chart. Tim got James. James, who has been doing this for years had unfortunately never seen colors like this. All the guys tried to help me- between Gerald, Tim, Angel, Edgar and James, someone got me a chair and everyone tried to figure out what to do about my off the charts pool water. At first they thought maybe just my container was contaminated so I went home and came back with a new container filled with water. Unfortunately, no, it was still my water. James suggested hardcore that I drain my pool and start over. But I am stubborn and reluctant to do that. So he gave me another option of a ph reducing product, which he gave me at a discount because he felt bad for me. And I so appreciate. He told me that I way over chlorinated too. So now I'm waiting a few days and I'll go back and they'll test it again. Hope I pass this time! James and the rest of the guys spent a lot of time with me and were very patient. I did not drain my pool so fingers crossed the ph stuff and taking the chlorine out has made it right. No one made me feel stupid or silly for doing all this to a glorified baby pool, AND doing it incorrectly, either.

We spent over a year trying to find a fair priced, communicative, and quality contractor who was even available to do the renovation work. We had ridiculously high quotes, quotes not itemized, blatant gouging, and folks who would not even return phone calls. Then we found Brian and Northstar Pools. From the first moments, I knew this was not your average NJ contractor. He was extremely polite, knowledgeable, humble - and clearly held to their mantra of providing only caring and customer-focused service - but he really knows his stuff on top of that! His prices were fair and enumerated in detail, so I knew exactly what I was getting. But it took a couple of months while I did more research - and during that time he was ever so patient, answered all my questions, and helped me arrive at a plan that worked. Once work started, he and his crew worked very hard and efficiently to tackle this beast of a project. As I was juggling the logistics of the other related landscaping and electrical work (and not to mention the weather), Brian was super accommodating and patient in coordinating all the work with me. When the inevitable need for plan changes occurred - Brian took everything in stride to make sure I was satisfied. The DIYer and engineer in me forced me to ask a LOT of questions as work progressed (and I mean a LOT). Brian answered every single one of them patiently and professionally - even the stupid ones. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were clearly evident. He even crawled ten feet under the new liner he just installed to remove a few pebbles that had found their way underneath - on a nice hot August day no less. I gave this business thousands- all regrettable life lessons learned. They lie to you. Sleaze their way into you paying up, with them delivering wrong information and extremely poor work. They even lied they showed up to my house, when cameras show no one in sight for hours. I did pool liner with them: started coming off and they blamed anything they possibly can (water itself, the liner they themselves installed, and, the funniest one, the last installer which was them). When they ask you who did the last work- say a competing business or you forgot, and watch how quickly they point out all the wrong things done even they're the ones that did it. Their warranty is bogus but they're smart about avoiding any actually quality work and follow up. Schedule will keep extending. Dates will keep changing. People will show up for 30-45 min and scam you. They'll make problems much bigger so they can come back and take more money. They don't believe your photos, videos, or what you are seeing in your own home. They always follow their made-up delusions. The people who make the decisions and you give your money mostly to are not the people who do the job, nor do they show up to see anything. You'll find an extremely rude, unprofessional, and liar of a person named Darlene working you through the phone. The mostly behind the curtain guy is Dan- he will talk his 30 years of experience with you to get you to believe, and of course take your money. You will lose your money. You will face more problems in your pool and system than you started with. You will be lied to. You will regret your decision to worth with these slimy people. Go elsewhere. Do it yourself. Order online. Anything but conduct business with this company of liars and deceivers. You work hard, so take it easy and give your money and time to a more deserving business. Monarch is not it.
