Get a pool they said - it'll be great they said. They were RIGHT. Chris and his team at the Pool Boss are nothing but the MOST PROFESSIONAL, KIND, RESPECTFUL group of people I have ever come across. We got quotes from FOUR pool companies, recommended by friends and family alike. We chose the Pool Boss because we believe he had no hidden costs or fees. When comparing the companies and calling back and asking - what about soil removal? Plumbing? Electric work? All we heard from the other companies was... oh, I forgot... that's extra. NOT with the Pool Boss. Everything was spelled out IN WRITING from day one. Our amazing oasis is completely installed and ready for inspection and there were no additional "surprises"! I challenge you to find another company that works with such integrity!! You're still reading? GREAT!! The ladies in the office - Joanna and Lauren - have you ever had to deal with your town on a project? I have never had the pleasure (insert sarcasm). I left town hall crying on more than one occasion... and all it took to calm my fears was one call to the office and everything was handled in an instant. These two fabulous women are the heartbeat of the company for sure. Excavation and soil removal team. On day one of our project... the coolest cats in the biz showed up at our home... EARLY... and went about their task seamlessly. When you have someone fondly nicknamed "Crazy Eddie" with a giant machine in your back yard digging a giant hole, you may worry. Not with these guys. They did minimal (necessary) damage to our property - which is to be expected when hauling 17 full dump trucks of dirt. They dug our pool exactly to specification with razor precision. The men who built the foundation for our pool (Chino and his team) were nothing short of amazing. Working for HOURS nonstop in the blazing July heat - never complaining... it was a sight to behold! I was greeted each day with smiling faces and was kept informed during the process... always knowing what was coming next. The frame arrived and Chino and his crew put together a pool like it was a set of Legos!! Walls went up, were screwed in and we were ready for our liner!! Our liner... Joanna sent us a link to choose our liner. We had our liner all selected - we had a "look" in mind. We showed our choice to Chris and he told us that the liner we chose was not going to work with our vision. He suggested another and showed us completed pools with that liner in place. BOY was he right. Our pool SHIMMERS!! It's GORGEOUS!!! Liner arrives... Chino installs it in 15.2 seconds (perfectly) and 7 seconds after that - the WaterMan arrives. Here is another example of Chris surrounding himself with the best. John and his son arrived with beautiful crystal clear water that was NOT overpriced... just in time for a 100 degree day! Three truckloads later and our pool was full :) James the electrician is now our friend AND we will never use anyone else for electric work in our home. James worked tirelessly to make sure the specifications for our electric to our pool was impeccable. He even calmed down a very cranky (shocker) town inspector... who was complaining about work from a completely different electric contractor that was not up to code. James fixed the shoddy work performed by someone else at no cost. Saved the best for last... DON. The icing on the cake. Don came to show us how to work EVERYTHING on our pool. Entertaining and educational at the same time, I am now a PRO at all things related to our pool. I am not mechanical, but I can take care of my investment with ease, knowing that if I get confused I can hop online for a tutorial or on the phone and get the team of professionals at the Pool Boss to help in an instant. Chris and your team at the Pool Boss... thank you for helping build our dream pool. We will spend many, many years in our back yard joyfully thanks to you. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I don't normally post reviews. However, my experience with the Pool Boss has been so amazing that I felt compelled to share my thoughts. Let me start by saying that we have a very small yard and adding a pool was no small challenge. I was aware that we were over our township defined lot coverage allowance and I thought that the only way to add a pool was to get a variance. Not only would a variance take a long time to get, but approval is not guaranteed and would have added an additional expense on top of this project. I met with two other pool contractors before contacting the Pool Boss. Both of these contractors said that we would need a variance or elect to have a smaller pool than we wanted. Then cam the Pool Boss and their amazing team. From the first contact with Terry, she made me feel at ease and I knew right away that I contacted the right people. Terry did not push us one bit and suggested we speak with one of their contacts that would figure out whether we needed a variance or not. Long story short, the Pool Boss was able to figure out how to build us a pool with a size we were comfortable with and all without needing a variance. I felt relieved to say the least. Next, I met at the property with Chris. Chris is amazing and gave me some helpful advice on the pool configuration. Not once did he try to up-sell me on anything and in fact, I believe that our original configuration may have cost us a bit more. Chris knows his craft and it was refreshing to meet with a contractor that cares more about the actual product than his own bottom line. From that point, we signed a contract and the Pool Boss took over. They dealt with the town in getting the permit and our town is not exactly the easiest to get permits from. The level of communication we received was nothing short of amazing. They answered every single email I sent them and most, usually, within a very short time. They would email and text us regarding appointments always letting us know who was coming to our house, when, and for what specific purpose. All of their technicians treated our home with respect. Their shining star is their offsite project manager Joanna. Joanna is attentive, professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and responsive. She can teach a course in customer service for sure. I am someone that asks a lot of questions and never once did I feel that my questions were unwanted. I have enjoyed dealing with Joanna so much that I will miss her now that our project is starting to wrap up. In sum, there really isn't a better pool contractor out there than the Pool Boss. I have heard nightmare stories from other people telling me their project was put on hold for months after the initial excavation took place. The Pool Boss gave us a timeline of what to expect and how long it would take. Although they will tell you that they will do their best to meet the deadlines, they hit our expected timeframe on the nose. If you are in the market for an in-ground pool, do yourself a favor and look no further than the Pool Boss. You will not be disappointed. read more

The Pool Boss takes the stress out of what can be a very stressful pool building process. After reading all the horror stories online of some pool building experiences, my wife and I were extremely nervous to take the plunge into building our own backyard oasis. From the first time we met Chris, we knew he was the one we wanted to build our pool for us. He was extremely knowledgeable and had a game plan of what we should do, and of course what our town would allow us to do in our backyard. His suggestions and ideas started to put us at ease right away. Our project definitely was not a cookie cutter pool that he was going to be building. When he first walked into our backyard all he saw was the tree filled sloped rear part of our yard right behind a retaining wall, that lead up to a town house community that resides just past our property line. He originally assumed we were putting the pool into the nice flat grassed portion of our yard, but that was not the vision that we had. Once we explained it to him, he was able to start seeing it too and within minutes the plan started coming together. The Pool Boss's top notch design team was able to map out the design for us and we were on our way! The design team was extremely hard working and very flexible with us when it came to our design. Once the design was completed, the process was seamless all the way through the build stage. When working with The Pool Boss, you have an on-site and also an off-site project manager that you are communicating with constantly. They work together to always keep you informed of what the next steps are, who is going to be on your property, and what days/times they will be there. This takes a lot of the unknowns out of the project that we have read about online with other pool builders. We never had to worry if or when someone was coming to work on the project each day. We also had a good idea of when the project would be completed as soon as they showed up for our dig day. Once our pool was completed, we received a very informative tutorial of everything that we needed to know in order to properly care for our pool. This was extremely helpful as first time pool owners. At this tutorial, the valet service was mentioned to us. This is a service that The Pool Boss provides so they can assist with the caring for your pool through-out the summer. We quickly saw this to be a great benefit and we signed up for it right away. From the initial meeting with Chris to the end of project recap meeting with him, we really felt like we made a great choice by selecting The Pool Boss. We have already recommended them to friends, and we will continue to do so. We look forward to creating fun memories this summer and for many years to come, not only with our children, but with our extended family and friends, and we have The Pool Boss to thank for that! read more

We had the pleasure of working with The Pool Boss to construct an inground pool at our residence, and we are absolutely thrilled with the end result. From the initial consultation to the final finishing touches, The Pool Boss exemplified professionalism, expertise, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional pool-building experience. The process started by setting up a consultation with Chris Argenziano, CEO of The Pool Boss. Chris came to our house and met with my wife and I. We did not feel rushed, he took the time to answer all our questions and did not push us in to anything, unlike other pool companies we met with who always were rushing us to sign a contract with them because of some sort of an expiring deal or potential changes in tax laws. This was the first indication that Chris was the right person for our project. We signed the contract and started the design process which we found to be a collaborative process, and they took the time to understand our vision, offering valuable suggestions and insights along the way. Their attention to detail was evident in every aspect, ensuring that the final pool design seamlessly blended with our home's aesthetics and met our specific requirements. Once construction began, Chris was there to layout and kick things off, and once again never felt rushed when meeting with him. He took the time to ensure the layout was good and he answered any questions we had. They adhered to the agreed-upon timeline, ensuring that the project progressed smoothly and without unnecessary delays. The construction crew was highly skilled, working diligently to bring the design to life. Moreover, the level of communication throughout the project was exceptional. We were notified of all mobilizations and steps by their project manager and received communication through their scheduling tool which sends you a text from the moment the crews start their travel to your project. What truly sets The Pool Boss apart is their unwavering commitment to customer service. The entire team was dedicated to ensuring my complete happiness, actively seeking my input and making adjustments when necessary. They provided valuable guidance on maintenance and upkeep, ensuring that I had the knowledge to keep my pool in pristine condition. I wholeheartedly recommend The Pool Boss to anyone in search of a pool builder. Their expertise, professionalism, and commitment to customer satisfaction are unmatched. read more

The Pool Boss installed our pool this past summer and we could not have been happier with the experience. From beginning to end, they took all the worry and concern away and handled all aspects on our behalf. They dedicated a person (Michael) to work with us on the total backyard design who was fabulous, handled all the permit requirements with the town, communicated with the engineer, coordinated the hardscaping, scheduled the multiple electrician visits, provided reputable companies for our fence alterations and tree removal...you name it, they took care of it! From our initial conversation with Chris and Terry, we immediately felt comfortable and confident that this process would be smooth, professional and timely. They have a very thorough system to ensure you're always aware of the process every step of the way which eliminates any worries or confusion. And when any questions or concerns do arise a representative (we dealt primarily with Joanna who is outstanding) immediately responds and addresses them. Their customer service is top notch which is very important and their work is impeccable. They are extremely knowledgeable and do meticulous work. Employees are friendly respectful, hard-working, and take pride in what they do. The final results exceeded all of our expectations. We absolutely love our new backyard and look forward to many fun family summers! One final thing to mention is I would highly recommend using the companies that The Pool Boss regularly works with (hardscaping, electrical, tree removal, fence company etc.) They all know each other and work so well together which absolutely contributed to the smooth and positive experience from start to finish. Danny Lopes from Lopes and Sons did our pavers and stone work and was phenomenal, would hire him again in a second. Brian from Benemerito Electrical specializes in pools and did a fantastic job, and finally Brian from Jan Fence and Big Foot Tree Service were both great. A five-star experience all around! I consider it a privilege to have worked with the Team of Designers and Contractors at "The Pool Boss." With 20 years of experience in the Northern New Jersey custom luxury market as the founder of Plan Architecture, I've worked with several teams over the years and I had made a very early decision to work with The Pool Boss - essentially prior to even having the property to do so! Our project started as an interview with Chris Argenziano to discuss the design and layout of our pool. We reviewed the location of the pool along with its orientation. Our design considered the sun, an area for lounging in and outside of the pool, benches, fountains, lighting and a pool cover. Chris patiently reviewed the process with us describing each step of the way. He was excellent at setting expectations at the onset of our work. We broke ground in late February of 2020 with our landscape contractors and then COVID hit. The construction industry, as with many other industries, was affected by delays, shortages and material increases. Each step of the way we all felt like challenges were being hurled at us, all the while Chris and Joanna did an incredible job of pre-ordering materials, getting ahead of the curve and helping us consider alternatives. We just completed our photoshoot with Chris and his team, the exclamation point on this incredibly refined process. As a professional, I typically get wary of companies when I see such a strong social media and advertising presence, but with The Pool Boss, their marketing is an expression for the pride they have for the work they've completed. They couldn't wait to photograph their work and share it with their friends. Our relationship with The Pool Boss continues as they offer competitive service contracts and pool maintenance programs which we have found to supplement Chris's ethos perfectly. One team member is better than the next. We could not say more great things about our experience and strongly encourage you to not only consider, but proceed with the Pool Boss. read more

From the very first consultation to the final touches, The Pool Boss exceeded every expectation we had. They broke ground on our pool in Spring 2024, and the entire process was nothing short of seamless, stress-free, and absolutely enjoyable. Building a pool can be a daunting undertaking, but The Pool Boss made it feel effortless, guiding us every step of the way with expertise, transparency, and top-tier customer service. Their team provided detailed architectural drawings that helped us visualize our dream pool, and their recommendations for subcontractors were spot-on, ensuring that every aspect of construction was handled by the best professionals in the industry. We were particularly impressed with how timely and efficient they were--not just in completing the pool itself, but also in managing the necessary permits and approvals. They worked hand in hand with the Upper Saddle River building department, ensuring that everything was filed properly and moved forward without any unnecessary delays. Throughout the process, their communication was outstanding. Every question we had--no matter how small--was answered promptly and thoroughly, and they always made us feel like a top priority. Their level of dedication didn't stop once the pool was complete. Even now, long after the project is finished, they remain incredibly responsive, offering valuable insight, guidance, and support whenever we need it. The end result? An absolutely stunning, perfectly executed pool that has become the highlight of our home! It's clear that The Pool Boss takes immense pride in their work, and their passion for what they do shines through in every detail. 5 Stars Without Hesitation! Giving a company 5 stars has honestly never been easier! We met with several pool companies before meeting with Chris, the owner of The Pool Boss. The minute he left our house, my husband and I looked at each other and just knew--this was the person we trusted to build our pool. Chris is down-to-earth, genuine, and gives you that immediate sense of confidence and ease. From our very first meeting through to the completion of the project, the entire process was seamless and stress-free. This was, hands down, the most organized company I have ever worked with in any aspect of my life. They have dedicated teams for each phase: finalizing your contract, designing your dream pool, handling permits, managing construction, and even teaching you how to care for your new pool and equipment. Each person we encountered was not only incredibly knowledgeable and professional but also guided us step-by-step with ease and patience. One thing that truly sets The Pool Boss apart is their consistent communication. We received daily email updates detailing the next day's plan--who was coming, what they were doing, and when. On top of that, we got text messages when workers were en route, complete with their photo. That kind of transparency and care is rare. Our calls and emails were always answered promptly, which was especially helpful as we often had questions along the way. We cannot say enough positive things about this company. Their attention to detail and commitment to excellence was evident every single day. If you're considering installing a pool--look no further. We feel incredibly fortunate to have worked with The Pool Boss, especially after hearing about the not-so-great experiences some of our friends have had with other companies. The Pool Boss made our vision a reality and exceeded our expectations in every possible way. Sincerely, Michele and Billy Mack Cranford NJ read more

We took the plunge last year to beautify our backyard with a new pool. For such a significant project, we knew it would be critical to hire the best pool company. Fortunately, we did - The Pool Boss. From our initial concept discussions with Chris, through design, construction, and service, the Pool Boss team demonstrated themselves to be the most experienced, dedicated, and conscientious professionals in the business. We couldn't be happier with our new Pool Boss pool. All the steps it took to complete our project were seamlessly performed by the Pool Boss team. Chris inspired confidence from our first meeting. Working with Joanna on contract documents, Kim on our pool design (which changed a few times), and Tina on permitting, was a pleasure and made easy by their knowledge, responsiveness, and attention to detail. Our construction phase, which began in January with the "big dig" and frame installation, was handled by the two very best construction managers - Dan and Gennaro - who kept us fully informed and addressed all our questions during construction. Dan was "hands on" and always present during the construction phase. He ensured that our pool construction was well-organized, efficient, and professionally done - it was amazing to watch. Special mention also to JBJ Electric (recommended by Pool Boss) who did an impressive job with his large team of electricians. After our pool was opened at the end of April, other members of the Pool Boss team took over. Lisa is incredibly responsive and detail-oriented in handling all our service needs (safety cover; valet service; and answering all our questions about the new pool). We also highly recommend the Pool Boss weekly valet service - and specifically our service technician Eduardo, who leaves our pool sparkling after every visit. If you are putting in a new pool, there is only one pool company to call - The Pool Boss! read more

The Pool Boss, led by owner Chris, has completely set the bar on how a business should be run. Long story short, my pool was in rough shape. I needed new lines, new skimmers, new returns, a new filter, essentially a total rip up. A project of this magnitude can be intimidating. I have owned a pool for 14 years and have used multiple pool companies. Thank God I found The Pool Boss. From the first day, Chris and his team demonstrated a level of professionalism, expertise, and attention to detail that will not be matched by any other pool company. Each person that I had been in contact with through The Pool Boss had a clearly defined role. Chris (owner) came to my house to assess the situation and record each issue that needed to be resolved. Joanna (Director of Client Operations and Pre-Construction) was the point person during pre construction. She communicated with me and explained what would be happening at each step of the way. Her patience is unmatched. Jessica (Project Coordinator) informed me of who was coming each day during construction and what would be happening. Her emails were extremely detailed so I fully understood the scope of what would be happening during construction. Dan (On Site Project Manager) not only walked me through the process he informed me on what he needed done on my end like filling up the pool and to what level (after liner was installed). Once the job was complete, Chris stopped by for a post construction meeting and inspection. Lastly Tyler (Service Supervisor) came by to explain to me how the filter worked and educated me on proper pool chemistry. It's rare to find a company that genuinely cares about its customers the way The Pool Boss does and it's clear that Chris demands exceptional service. If you're looking for a pool company that you can 100% trust, The Pool Boss is the one to call. Highly recommended! read more
