I would classify this business as a scam. Used Erik a few times for one off maintenance (should have stopped there since he never showed when he said he would) and then went into an annual contract where he was supposed to come once a month. Paid upfront flor the year, he came once, never came again and stopped responding to texts and calls. That's right...took our money for the entire year and ran. I'm shocked no one has taken him to court for breech of contract. I'm clearly not the only one who has paid him and not received the product or service. read more

I've been working with Eric for about a year and a half now, and I even have his first review to show how our relationship started. Eric is experienced and generally knows what he's doing. His pricing is also more competitive than most. However, actually getting consistent service from him has been a challenge. Our communication has been rocky from the start, largely because Eric is extremely unorganized. He's often messy with scheduling, and there have been multiple times when we agreed on a visit to a property, and he simply didn't show up--without any notice, and with no response to calls or texts. Another major issue is his temperament. He has a short fuse, and when he believes he's right, he resorts to aggressive language and constant cursing. Even when I prove him wrong and he briefly apologizes, the same behavior returns the next day. I've continued giving Eric business out of patience and understanding for his situation. I've kept him busy and even referred multiple clients to him, which brought him more work. But the last incident was the final straw. He failed to show up at my personal home for four consecutive weeks, despite our agreement for weekly visits every Thursday. As a result, I and my guests couldn't use the pool and hot tub multiple times. He promised to come the following day (Friday), apologized, and then still didn't show up. The final time I followed up, he replied with, "No, we are clearly not coming in the rain. Seriously?" -- without even a proper notice or attempt to reschedule. This level of unreliability and disrespect is unacceptable, especially after all the work and referrals I've given him. Erik was professional and quickly fixed the crack in our hot tub. Everything works like new again. Highly recommend!

After an initially positive experience with Erik Solis/Spa Valet in March 2025 (see my prior review on Yelp), I ordered a spa cover and paid him $600 'up front' on the understanding that it would take about 2 months for me to receive the cover. After that period had clearly passed, I began communicating with Erik (mostly by text) but he was extremely unresponsive. On July 8, 2025 after several months of poor communication and having received neither the spa cover nor a refund, I filed a small claims case for $600 plus court costs against Erik/Spa Valet in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Special Civil Part in Passaic, NJ. Mr. Solis did not appear at the appointed place and time in court (September 3, 2025) and, after a "Proof Hearing" the judge ruled in my favor and entered a Default Judgment again Erik/Spa Valet. Since Erik did not respond to that Judgment, on September 25, 2025 I filed an official Request for Writ of Execution for Goods and Chattels with the Court. Of note, a review of the publicly available NJ court website (https://portal.njcourts.gov) shows that, in addition to my case, there are 5 other defaulted contract disputes in the system against Mr. Solis - DC008080(99); DC007935(08); DC019849(08); DC010735(09); DC010633(12); and DC013735(25). Erik is a true professional at his craft. We have an annual white glove contract with Erik and we have been exceptionally pleased with the work he has done for us. He takes care of our hot tub as well as recently opened up our pool for the season. He is responsive, easy to get a hold of, takes pictures of all his work, and thoroughly explains what he is going to do before he actually does it which is very helpful to homeowners. Communications is the key to all relationships and Erik definitely meets our high expectations. Erik has come up with several creative ideas for solutions we have been looking for and we truly trust that he has our best interests at heart. Reached out base on yelp reviews. My hot tub is older, had a leak during the freeze in January and the heater went out. Reached out on 2/25 for an appointment and Erik came out in on 2/27, fixed the leak on the first visit and explained that I needed a new part for the heater. He was very knowledgeable and told me he had to order the parts. He texted me he'd have the parts on 3/17 and have it installed by 3/19. I reached out on 3/24 when I hadn't heard from him and came back on 4/8 (spring weather was bad so no worries here). When he is talked the new part he realized there was a second part that was needed that didn't come with the part. He knew right away what the issue was. Told me he'd order it and be back in a few weeks. Connected in mid May on text and he said he was coming and had the part. Never showed. Connected again in August over text, said he was coming, never showed. In between those timeframes and after, numerous attempts to contact him went unanswered. It's now 10/17 and he has yet to come back or connect with me. So not sure if this exceeded his capability to fix it was too problematic and didn't want to come back. Either way, it's been almost 8 months since he came out initially and hot tub still doesn't work. So I've given up and have to find someone else to fix the tub. read more

Erik was refered from a local shop that did not service my brand tub. He fit me into the schedule within a day, arrived promptly, diagnosed the problem and fixed it for an extremely reasonable rate. Id recommend anyone looking for honest, reliable service to give Erik a call. read more

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL I messaged The Spa Valet via yelp and got a prompt response from Erik S (on Wednesday) , stating he would be there on "Thursday" afternoon and he provided a number . On Wednesday, I texted that number, as well as responded through the yelp messenger. Since the appointment was confirmed for Thursday afternoon, I had to move my schedule around to accommodate this appointment (that's why I am writing this review). I called up that number on Thursday around noon to confirm if he is stopping by , he said yes. I waited until 4 o clock because no one turned up so I called Erik around 4 to confirm if he is coming today or not, but he did not pick up the phone. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and called him the next day, he again did not pick up the phone and did not even text back. A suggestion to Erik, if he wants his business to grow, he needs to be more professional and at least have the decency to text/call back the customer stating if he can make it or not. read more

After purchasing a spa, I realized quickly I needed help. The water was cloudy and I was doing all I could to correct it. Not good.
