Laura the owner was amazing. She was able to work with us to fit in our inspection time frame and was very accommodating. Brittany was our pool inspector and she was incredible! Never having a pool before, I was very nervous about the process due to my lack of knowledge. I was beyond impressed with Brittany. Her extensive knowledge blew me away. She also walked me through everything in the inspection to make sure I felt comfortable with her findings. She was patient (i had lots of questions) and her answers to my questions were very thorough. I greatly appreciate how she took the time to make sure I felt at ease since the system was quite complicated. She walked me through the systems as well and took the time to show me what I needed to know and what system was linked to which processes for the pool and the spa. She did all of this in under an hour. Her report was very detailed with great pictures. They were recommended to us through our home inspector as he did not cover pools. I could not say enough great things about Brittany, Laura and the company. Incredibly trustworthy and professional. Laura, Jeff, and Nicole were all amazing to work with from start to finish! Laura was very responsive via email/phone during scheduling and even took the time to get back to us over the weekend, when she was hosting guests no less! The pool was closed and I didn't know if we needed to open it fully or what our options were. Laura took the time to explain everything to me and go over all my options. Preferred Pool Inspections was recommended to us by our Realtor. We were sold on the fact that they do not install or service pools - they only do inspections so there would be no 'up' selling of anything. Jeff showed up on time and gave us a very detailed explanation off what he would examine and the reasoning behind this. He preformed a very thorough inspection. There were some known issues with the pool but Jeff conducted his inspection without asking about any known issues to ensure his examination was based on what he saw and not on anything else. He provided a very thorough explanation of what he found based on an obviously extensive knowledge of pools, pool equipment, NJ laws regarding pools and liability. He also took us around the pool and pointed out defects and other items that were foreign to us as we have never owned a pool. He also ensured we understood any issues with gates/landscape features around the property and impact to us as potential owners of a house with a pool Jeff was instrumental in our understanding of what was wrong with the pool and if the proposed fix by the home owner would address the major issues. The report provided by Preferred Pools was also promptly delivered and very detailed with many photos of any issues Jeff deemed was of concern. He was also always available and prompt in responding to our followup questions as we had to make some decisions regarding remediation proposed by the home seller. I had Preferred Pool Inspections inspect a pool in a home i was buying recently.Jeff arrived on time and was an extremely pleasant guy to work with.He has a wealth of experience and is very thourough and takes his time in looking things over. He is ever ready to explain the workings of the pool he is inspecting and is very patient and knowledgeable. They did use hi tech modern equipment to do the inspection as well. We found Preferred Pool Inspections via the Better Business Bureau website as we only want to use a company with at least an "A" grade. Laura was very polite and attentive when scheduling an inspection for an in-ground pool at a house I just purchased. The inspector, Jeff, showed up early ready with all his equipment organized for the inspection. As a first time pool owner with absolutely no idea about how they work, I was able to learn/understand the basic mechanics of it with Jeff's explanations. He had volumes of knowledge and info about our pool, and pools in general, a true craftsmen of the trade. He provided the written pool inspection report within 2 days and it was a very comprehensive photo-narrative that was easy to read and understand. Note, that Jeff ONLY performs pool inspections and does not repair/maintain them, making him truly an unbiased 3rd party inspector. I highly recommend Preferred Pool Inspections! read more

This company is top notch from start to finish, we used them to inspect a pool at a potential home for purchase. Laura called me back the same day and emailed me the contract and explained everything involved in the winterized inspection. This company doesn't deserve a single star. I had a pool of a prospective home purchase inspected by Jeff and it was a waste of money. Jeff claimed the liner was in good condition and was fine. Big Lie the freaking liner had multiple holes and a giant hole in it the size of a tennis ball. I had to replace the entire liner over $4,000 . A pool company and The guys who replaced the liner said wow who did your pool inspection. two separate companies said the same thing. Any reputable inspection company could pull off a pool cover during inspection and see that the water level was too low which indicates a leak. Not to mention Jeff also said my heater was new and replaced.. Freaking Lie the heater also has a leak and I have no idea how much this is going to cost me next season but I guarantee it would be over 2000 dollars. I should've know when he asked to remove the cover in private,(he claims he doesn't want anyone to see his secret way to remove a cover) Freaking liar I should've been cautioned when he said he remembers when my pool was built he claimed to be there when it was installed. Me not wanting to be biased felt reassured that someone who knows the pool inspected it NOPE. I believe he got paid off to give me a satisfactory inspection.All the bullshyt is in writing. good liner, good heater with pictures and all. But I lost a lot of money because of his scam A$$. He took advantage of the fact that I was an inexperienced home buyer who never owned a pool and didn't know what to look for I know you knew what you was doing and I hope you rot in hell for getting paid to lie to innocent home buyers. My husband and I are in the process of purchasing a home with a pool and needed a pool inspector. My husband found PPI online and we decided to use them due to their great reviews. They did not disappoint! I made the appointment with Laura and they were quick to schedule us and email the contract. On inspection day we were scheduled with Mike. He was the best! His attention to detail and patience is immeasurable. He took the time to explain the equipment, fencing, pool tools, patio around the pool, ect and really made sure that we understood his findings. He walked us through the pool equipment, how to use it, what it's for, it's maintenance, ect- all extremely valuable things first time pool users should know. He made sure to answer any questions we had and told us that if anything happens in the future to call PPI and they'd be happy to guide us with any questions. We're so happy to have found them!
