Dishonest to a point bordering on fraudulent. Incompetent. We hired the company to "open our pool".....$1000 bucks (which is ridiculous)....and they leave a note that says: "Will have to come back to finish the vac, backwash, and balance the chemicals *Pool was a bit murky, so we left the system running 25/ in service until we return" Im not sure, but sounds to me as though they didn't finish the job and they are coming back, right? NO!!!!!! I called to ask when and they said they would send someone out for and additional $500 bucks...and stupid me, I agree!!!!! because Im the type of sucker that a business like this relies on taking advantage of. So thats the end, right? NO!!!!!!! They don't show up and when I call again, its my fault!!! So now we are two weeks and about $1500 bucks into getting this pool open and still no end in sight. But is that the end? NO!!!!!!! We were charged nearly $1000 bucks to replace 15 small tiles!!! Why? IDK....perhaps they flew artisans in from Italy. $2500 bucks....15 small tiles.....and a bowl of water I can not swim in.....do yourself a favor.....find someone that has some pride in their business, some sense of value for the customer, and frankly someone that will be around next year.......because these guys will go under and deserve it. AND SHAME ON YELP FOR MAKING ME GIVE AT LEAST 1 STAR!!!!

We spent over a year trying to find a fair priced, communicative, and quality contractor who was even available to do the renovation work. We had ridiculously high quotes, quotes not itemized, blatant gouging, and folks who would not even return phone calls. Then we found Brian and Northstar Pools. From the first moments, I knew this was not your average NJ contractor. He was extremely polite, knowledgeable, humble - and clearly held to their mantra of providing only caring and customer-focused service - but he really knows his stuff on top of that! His prices were fair and enumerated in detail, so I knew exactly what I was getting. But it took a couple of months while I did more research - and during that time he was ever so patient, answered all my questions, and helped me arrive at a plan that worked. Once work started, he and his crew worked very hard and efficiently to tackle this beast of a project. As I was juggling the logistics of the other related landscaping and electrical work (and not to mention the weather), Brian was super accommodating and patient in coordinating all the work with me. When the inevitable need for plan changes occurred - Brian took everything in stride to make sure I was satisfied. The DIYer and engineer in me forced me to ask a LOT of questions as work progressed (and I mean a LOT). Brian answered every single one of them patiently and professionally - even the stupid ones. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were clearly evident. He even crawled ten feet under the new liner he just installed to remove a few pebbles that had found their way underneath - on a nice hot August day no less. Thank-you Brian and your great team for the work you did - and the manner in which you performed it. We are so blessed that we found you.

He takes care of our hot tub as well as recently opened up our pool for the season. He is responsive, easy to get a hold of, takes pictures of all his work, and thoroughly explains what he is going to do before he actually does it which is very helpful to homeowners. Communications is the key to all relationships and Erik definitely meets our high expectations. Erik has come up with several creative ideas for solutions we have been looking for and we truly trust that he has our best interests at heart. We would recommend Erik and his team to anyone who is looking for a professional spa and pool manager that will take care of all of your maintenance needs. You will not be disappointed working with Erik.

I've been working with Eric for about a year and a half now, and I even have his first review to…read moreshow how our relationship started. Eric is experienced and generally knows what he's doing. His pricing is also more competitive than most. However, actually getting consistent service from him has been a challenge. Our communication has been rocky from the start, largely because Eric is extremely unorganized. He's often messy with scheduling, and there have been multiple times when we agreed on a visit to a property, and he simply didn't show up--without any notice, and with no response to calls or texts. Another major issue is his temperament. He has a short fuse, and when he believes he's right, he resorts to aggressive language and constant cursing. Even when I prove him wrong and he briefly apologizes, the same behavior returns the next day. I've continued giving Eric business out of patience and understanding for his situation. I've kept him busy and even referred multiple clients to him, which brought him more work. But the last incident was the final straw. He failed to show up at my personal home for four consecutive weeks, despite our agreement for weekly visits every Thursday. As a result, I and my guests couldn't use the pool and hot tub multiple times. He promised to come the following day (Friday), apologized, and then still didn't show up. The final time I followed up, he replied with, "No, we are clearly not coming in the rain. Seriously?" -- without even a proper notice or attempt to reschedule. This level of unreliability and disrespect is unacceptable, especially after all the work and referrals I've given him. I've been patient long enough, but I can no longer tolerate this kind of behavior.

I just bought a house at the end of last summer and unfortunately i inherited a pool that needed a lot of help and maintenance. Trying to find pool servicers was already difficult to begin with and because charles responded and provided me a reasonable price i decided to go with him. Little did i know that his reliability and quality of work would be far below satisfactory. Many times he committed to appointments and would either come late or not show up without even a call. I literally got a response one time that he slept late. I had to chase him various times and because i was desperate to get this done, i kept giving i him opportunities to come back. When he finally replaced my filter and pump, now it appears that there is a leak in my pool that i hadn't had before his service. His response was that it's probably the pipes or skimmer due to the water falling below the skimmer line when this was never an issue. Not to mention he was the one that replaced the pipes leading to the filter from the skimmer. Instead he says he'll take care of it next year when we're ready to open the pool assuming that i would even continue to do business with him. Lastly, i purchased a cover pump as part of this transaction and both of them have died on me. He committed to coming last saturday to replace it under "his warranty" and of course he didn't show up nor respond to my text. Please beware of this pool service provider and consider calling another legitimate company.

Olympic Pools did a fantastic job on my pool. We made an appointment last year in about early June…read more2016 and spoke with Bob Bianca (the owner). He was very knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. During the next two weeks, we spoke with other pool builders none of which could install on a reasonable time line and did not seem as knowledgeable as Olympic. We decided to go with Olympic Pools and signed a contract on June 16, 2016 for Olympic to install a 20 by 40 foot vinyl-lined, in-ground, salt-water pool. Olympic was not the cheapest or the most expensive of our estimates. I note that other reviewers allege difficulty in getting help, and/or were ignored when they went in the store. That was not my experience, every time I entered Olympic I was immediately helped. During the time the pool was installed I must have called Bob over twenty times to ask questions regarding permits, plans, secondary contractor appointments etc. He either came to the phone immediately or called me right back. Note that my wife is high maintenance and she was pleased that Bob always was responsive. A few reviewers seem to have gotten poor service from "Ed". I have never dealt with him. Only Bob. I did not read the other Yelp reviews until after I had signed my contract. On this point, Olympic pools installs thirty to fifty pools a year. I know this because I had in-depth discussions with the secondary contractors that work with Olympic (electric, plumbing, tree service, topography site plan). I spoke to all involved in-depth because I was nervous about the other Yelp reviews. That being said, out of the probably thousands of pools Olympic has installed over the past forty or so years, they have only about ten Yelp reviews, most of which deal with secondary issues. The day that I signed the contract, I spoke to five of Olympics customers who had large, in-ground salt-water pools installed, as they were coming in and out of the store for chemicals, testing etc. All of them gave Olympic high praises and were very happy with their pools; Bob spoke to each of them as they came in. It's too bad that they do not review on Yelp. Bottom line is that the Yelp reviews of Olympic Pools do not appear to be a good sampling and only the unhappy customers dealing with mostly minor issues have reviewed. Installing an in-ground pool is a huge physical, logistic and financial undertaking. No installer will build your pool in a week or even a month. Permits are required, secondary contractors must install electric, plumbing etc. weather does not always cooperate, ground must settle after digging before pavers can be installed. Regarding the secondary contractors, they were prompt, professional, did great work and all inspections passed first time. They were also very affordable I think because they give Olympic customers a break due to the amount of work Olympic gives them. Getting back to the pool build, it was installed in a timely professional manner. We were swimming by August (less than about a two month install). The pool is always crystal clear, beautiful; we are so happy. The robot vacuum works great and the pool filter is top of the line. There were a few unforeseen issues during the install. For example, a lot of ground water appeared on the dig site. This was dealt with by installing a gravel pit. Lesson, there may be unforeseen costs during your pool build. Be prepared for this. One of the reviewers called Bob a used car salesman. I do not agree with this. He knows his craft very well, has a lot of experience and wants your business. He does tend to promise a lot, but in my opinion he delivers. If you go with Olympic expect to get a beautiful pool in a timely manner. Also be prepared to pay promptly, they want payment right away on the times agreed. They are coming to open my pool April 30, 2017. Can't wait.
