In the end, my pool was opened and chemicals were applied. The area was hand weeded and overgrowth was cut back. Entire area was power washed including pavers, fence, walkway and pool cover. The paver area was resanded. Byron, inspected and cleaned the filter, as well as inspected the heater. He provided me with his expertise with regards to future operation of the pool. He had his very hard working, extremely polite workers also clean my front walk and front of house which was not included but he has an eye for detail and perfection. We hired the company to "open our pool".....$1000 bucks (which is ridiculous)....and they leave a note that says: "Will have to come back to finish the vac, backwash, and balance the chemicals *Pool was a bit murky, so we left the system running 25/ in service until we return" Im not sure, but sounds to me as though they didn't finish the job and they are coming back, right? I called to ask when and they said they would send someone out for and additional $500 bucks...and stupid me, I agree!!!!! because Im the type of sucker that a business like this relies on taking advantage of. So thats the end, right? NO!!!!!!! They don't show up and when I call again, its my fault!!! So now we are two weeks and about $1500 bucks into getting this pool open and still no end in sight. But is that the end? NO!!!!!!! We were charged nearly $1000 bucks to replace 15 small tiles!!! Why? IDK....perhaps they flew artisans in from Italy. $2500 bucks....15 small tiles.....and a bowl of water I can not swim in.....do yourself a favor.....find someone that has some pride in their business, some sense of value for the customer, and frankly someone that will be around next year.......because these guys will go under and deserve it. We spent over a year trying to find a fair priced, communicative, and quality contractor who was even available to do the renovation work. We had ridiculously high quotes, quotes not itemized, blatant gouging, and folks who would not even return phone calls. Then we found Brian and Northstar Pools. From the first moments, I knew this was not your average NJ contractor. He was extremely polite, knowledgeable, humble - and clearly held to their mantra of providing only caring and customer-focused service - but he really knows his stuff on top of that! His prices were fair and enumerated in detail, so I knew exactly what I was getting. But it took a couple of months while I did more research - and during that time he was ever so patient, answered all my questions, and helped me arrive at a plan that worked. Once work started, he and his crew worked very hard and efficiently to tackle this beast of a project. As I was juggling the logistics of the other related landscaping and electrical work (and not to mention the weather), Brian was super accommodating and patient in coordinating all the work with me. When the inevitable need for plan changes occurred - Brian took everything in stride to make sure I was satisfied. The DIYer and engineer in me forced me to ask a LOT of questions as work progressed (and I mean a LOT). Brian answered every single one of them patiently and professionally - even the stupid ones. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were clearly evident. He even crawled ten feet under the new liner he just installed to remove a few pebbles that had found their way underneath - on a nice hot August day no less. However, we simply did not click. What started as a miscommunication on the timing of his visit to open the pool, moved on to Ed accusing me of being passive aggressive in my communication (which he does not tolerate), and ended up with Ed accusing me of defrauding Naso Pools, by not checking a box on his webform. My feeling was that it was not a big deal he would charge me for all services rendered. He had my card data. Very odd escalation.....I was good until the defrauding comment came up. After out back and forth, we agreed that we would not be a good mix, agreed that we would go our own ways, with Naso refunding the thousand dollar plus payment I had made in advance. Almost a month later and no refund in sight, and have filed a dispute with Bank of America. I have no clue about the quality of his service, was fine with moving on, but I am not happy about having to have to dispute the charge. May take a month or two but I will get the money back, but that does not change someone trying to charge you for services never provided. Read Ed's counter; lots of analysis for calling just to find out if he was going to show. His planner that Naso specified an all day appointment, no other communication, no prior visit to confirm the scope of work. I see no problem asking for a clarification. Upon him informing me I missef a box, I told him repeatedly charge me for all required serices....and that the opening might identify other work which may need to be performed. I do nor understand why that's a big deal. Certainly not defrauding someone. We have found a great pool service company that's will to just bill me for services rendered. No stress no unnecessary bs. Ed's review gets personal, sticking to facts Mr Naso is taking money for services he did not render. Draw your own conclusions.

Before finding Fabio, I had worked with two other pool companies that were either unable to identify the source of the leak, recommended services which were not needed, or were simply unprofessional throughout the process. It was frustrating, so it was a huge relief to finally find someone who knew exactly what he was doing. Fabio identified the problem, explained the repair in detail, and answered every question I had along the way - and I had a lot. He arrived on time and got right to work. The repair was extensive, as shown from the photos, as it involved excavating the concrete around the pool to replace the old skimmer with a brand-new one, as well as digging a trench all the way to the pool equipment to replace the old plumbing with new rigid lines. Throughout the entire project, his workmanship was outstanding. Fabio was patient, honest, personable, and never made me feel rushed despite the many questions I had. He also shared several great recommendations for future pool maintenance, which I really appreciated. Once the repair was complete, he also took the time to thoroughly vacuum and clean the pool so it was ready to be used. I appreciated that extra level of care. His pricing was very fair, especially considering the amount of labor involved and the quality of the finished result. After my experience with other companies, I can say Fabio is the real deal.
