Ed and everyone associated with Olympic Pools have been great in our pool installation. The pool installer, in my opinion was extremely experienced at pool installation. But more than that I truly felt he went out of his way to make sure I received the best service possible and was happy with our new pool. In addition to pool installation, I had to have a sewer pit installed and a retaining wall with additional cement patio. Both supplied contractors were very good. The sewer pit was installed by Mikula Contracting out of Clifton, and I couldn't say enough about them. Professional, timely and completion of job was unmatched. They went above the contracted service to assist with my gutter connections and leveling my yard. The concrete work was performed by New Way Construction. Isaiah, in my opinion is a very honorable man. His work we are very pleased with, and is dedication to my ultimate satisfaction was extremely appreciated. I have and will continue to recommend his services to family and friends. Of course there were hiccups along the way, to be expected with any large undertaking, but overall my wife and I are very happy with our pool and our choice of contractor. Thanks Ed! read more

We love Mike and Olympic Pools! The pictures below speak for themselves and their beautiful work. Mike gave us exactly what we were looking for. A custom sized, clean lined, rectangular pool and we could not be happier. My one main request was that the stairs be lined and go from end to end, as opposed to a plastic insert, and they exceeded our expectations. Everyone who walks into our pool by way of the steps cannot believe how cushioned and comfortable they feel, with a little gripping action to make entry safer. The LED color changing light makes it easy for night swimming while the different color options make it possible to create whatever ambiance you are looking for. While I wish the light was remote or phone application accessible, it is easy enough to change the light by flipping a switch. We knew NOTHING about pools when we started this endeavor and we feel that Mike led us in the right direction and even came by after the work was done if we ever had any questions. We went with an electric heated, salt water pool and it was the best decision we ever made. You feel clean coming out of the pool with no stickiness or scent of chlorine. Olympic Pools did a fantastic job on my pool. We made an appointment last year in about early June 2016 and spoke with Bob Bianca (the owner). He was very knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. During the next two weeks, we spoke with other pool builders none of which could install on a reasonable time line and did not seem as knowledgeable as Olympic. We decided to go with Olympic Pools and signed a contract on June 16, 2016 for Olympic to install a 20 by 40 foot vinyl-lined, in-ground, salt-water pool. Olympic was not the cheapest or the most expensive of our estimates. I note that other reviewers allege difficulty in getting help, and/or were ignored when they went in the store. That was not my experience, every time I entered Olympic I was immediately helped. During the time the pool was installed I must have called Bob over twenty times to ask questions regarding permits, plans, secondary contractor appointments etc. He either came to the phone immediately or called me right back. Note that my wife is high maintenance and she was pleased that Bob always was responsive. A few reviewers seem to have gotten poor service from "Ed". I have never dealt with him. Only Bob. I did not read the other Yelp reviews until after I had signed my contract. On this point, Olympic pools installs thirty to fifty pools a year. I know this because I had in-depth discussions with the secondary contractors that work with Olympic (electric, plumbing, tree service, topography site plan). I spoke to all involved in-depth because I was nervous about the other Yelp reviews. That being said, out of the probably thousands of pools Olympic has installed over the past forty or so years, they have only about ten Yelp reviews, most of which deal with secondary issues. The day that I signed the contract, I spoke to five of Olympics customers who had large, in-ground salt-water pools installed, as they were coming in and out of the store for chemicals, testing etc. All of them gave Olympic high praises and were very happy with their pools; Bob spoke to each of them as they came in. It's too bad that they do not review on Yelp. Bottom line is that the Yelp reviews of Olympic Pools do not appear to be a good sampling and only the unhappy customers dealing with mostly minor issues have reviewed. Installing an in-ground pool is a huge physical, logistic and financial undertaking. No installer will build your pool in a week or even a month. Permits are required, secondary contractors must install electric, plumbing etc. weather does not always cooperate, ground must settle after digging before pavers can be installed. Regarding the secondary contractors, they were prompt, professional, did great work and all inspections passed first time. They were also very affordable I think because they give Olympic customers a break due to the amount of work Olympic gives them. Getting back to the pool build, it was installed in a timely professional manner. We were swimming by August (less than about a two month install). The pool is always crystal clear, beautiful; we are so happy. The robot vacuum works great and the pool filter is top of the line. There were a few unforeseen issues during the install. For example, a lot of ground water appeared on the dig site. This was dealt with by installing a gravel pit. Lesson, there may be unforeseen costs during your pool build. Be prepared for this. One of the reviewers called Bob a used car salesman. I do not agree with this. He knows his craft very well, has a lot of experience and wants your business. He does tend to promise a lot, but in my opinion he delivers. If you go with Olympic expect to get a beautiful pool in a timely manner. Also be prepared to pay promptly, they want payment right away on the times agreed. They are coming to open my pool April 30, 2017. Can't wait. read more

The credit noted below, was applied to my account and TODAY 8/28, I receive notice based on what Olympic wrote to AmEx, that my account was now charged for the pool I NEVER received, despite the numerous calls I made to them with no call back WHAT SO EVER.Where I thought Olympic failed miserably in customer service, they now have shown me another side of themselves that I think is absolutely deplorable. All I can say to anyone thinking of purchasing a pool, tread carefully. The day they correct the wrong they did to me, from their end, will be the day that I will post a positive comment here with multiple stars. I worked very hard on this today after visiting 6 stores and none of them had the right parts to fix the water pump in my pool. Mike took the time to explain the process and guide me correctly even though I'm clueless when it comes to plumbing. I hired these people to open my pool they are so unprofessional and expensive. I had asked to have my pool open in the beginning of May they said it was no problem. Never called me back it was almost the last week of may. Kept telling we will call they never did. After numerous calls and I even went to the place personally they finally came and opened it. Close to me memorial weekend. But guess what the guy who came did not remove one of the filter plugs. I was so upset kept calling they couldn't come to remove saying they were " too busy or not in the area". I spoke with the one in charge Alex who was no help what so ever. We installed our Pool in 2017 and checked out every pool store in the area. We decided to go with with Olympic because of how comfortable my wife and I felt with Ed and John. They came to our house in Paramus a few times and answered every question we threw at them. They were honest and extremely knowledgeable. One of the main things I love about them is anytime I go into the store the entire staff is friendly and very helpful. Ed and John still spend the time to talk to us and answer any maintenance questions I ask. Even though there are a few pool stores closer, I go to them because they are always spot on. They don't tell you that the installer they give you does not work for them. The inside of the pool was full of sand and the bottom of the pool is all bumpy because they did not smooth out the sand. Ed and his crew are some of the best people one could ever work with. Ed and his whole staff are not just incredibly knowledgeable, they genuinely care and do business the right way. Ed excavated for our pool, installed our filters and gave us countless tips and pointers along the way. Ed, himself, genuinely cares about the product affiliated with his company and takes great pride in the work he puts his name to. He did not leave the job until every little detail was perfect each time. He even came back to fix something so small the next morning after it did not meet his own liking. His excavator Francisco is one of the hardest workers I have also met. The man can do it all. To give an example of how much he cares about his work also, after he was finished back filling our pool, he moved dirt to patch up grass and re- level our yard. He then raked the dirt to make it smooth. They did this service with no cost, yet would not leave until it was done. The serviceman, Jesse, is also top notch. He is incredible with his attention to detail and also possesses wonderful knowledge. Other people who were great to us as well were workers Jirim and Richard. On a whole, these gentleman came into our home to do a job and left the job as our friends. They are all extremely easy to get along with. Ed never fails to answer his phone and is always good for answering any questions we have. They dug the hole September 23. It took until January to finish with just the backfill. They do take over the whole job and submit the permits for you. I did not haggle with them and their price. However the whole time I dealt with them I felt that my job was an inconvenience to them. Even after the pavers were in which was done by lopes and sons pavers which jon had on his call list whom is just as unprofessional as these guys were. So after everything was done with the pavers and the week before Memorial Day I was still missing little things that I paid for. I had to go out of my way after going out of my for these guys the whole time to pick these parts up and install my self. The only person I had no problem with was the electrician. read more

Don't waste your time. I made an "appointment" through their online booking system, for someone to do an estimate at my house. The day before my "appointment" I was sent a confirmation email. After waiting 15 minutes past my appointment time, I contacted the store. A young girl who sounded to be of high school age identified herself as the manager. She told me that she had taken down my appointment time 2 days prior, but never intended on sending someone to my house to do an estimate. Her excuse was that she is short handed and it was a holiday weekend. When I asked her why she could not call me to inform me that she did not have anyone available, she told me she was too busy to do so. I get home and it doesn't fit it's for an above ground pool. We bought a pool from Olympic about 20 years ago and the pool held up with very few physical issues. The up keep and constant chemicals required from Olympic was ridiculous. About 7 years ago I went into another pool store and picked up chemicals and advise for my persistent algee issue and I could not have been happier. I was using fewer chemicals throughout the season, to open and close my pool I felt like I was taken advantage of by Olympic. I did return to Olympic to purchase another pool because the last one lasted for 20 years and I feel like I paid a little more than I should buy the pool quality is there. I wanted to purchase a pool frog system from them and was quoted $550,I went on line and purchased it for $149, enough said. I will never go back to Olympic for any service and would recommend that anyone shopping for a pool be very careful and do check for reviews. read more

We have been customers of Olympic Pools from Saddle Brook for the past 28 years. If I was able to give them more than 5 stars I would. In 1988 they installed a beautiful 20 X 40 ft swimming pool which has been completely trouble free for all that time. We recently had a new filter, lines and liner installed by them without any problems or issues. During the renovation they inspected the exposed steel wall panels which showed virtually no evidence of deterioration. The owner Ed, and his associate John frequently stopped by during our renovation to ensure that the project was moving along issue free. Olympic Pools of Saddle Brook uses the top of the line building products as well as all of chemicals and other supplies you would require for the pool. I highly recommend them for installation of a new pool as well as any services required after the pool is installed. They have been around for many years and are extremely knowledgable in all areas. I took a day at home to wait for a serviceman from Olympic pools to come out and diagnose a problem with my pool. After waiting around until 2:00 p.m. I finally get a call that they aren't coming, won't make an appointment on the weekend and can only come when I'm normally in the office. Not exactly customer friendly. I feel bad for the guy they say was injured on the job but it isn't my problem to staff their appointments. If they are going to say they can be somewhere, they should have an extra hand around to care of emergencies, not transfer their problems to me. We had gone to Olympic Pools, as my parents had purchased 2 pools from them over the years and felt they were very good (keyword "WERE") early in May to get a quote for an above ground pool. At the time, you had to make an appointment due to COVID restrictions. I spoke to a very helpful young lady who made me an appointment and we had a great meeting and received our quote. There was no mention from the salesman that we needed to decide quickly as at this time construction was still shutdown A few days later after confirming with my town that we could use the size we chose, I Left several messages and emails with no response. I finally got through to someone who said there are no pools left!!! I guess with the high demand for pools they were taking whoever walked in and did not care about other customers with quotes or repeat customers!!! I signed a contract in March 2016 with this company it took myself and my family to finish up getting permits and contracts done with other providers to get a CO in September 2017 losing two seasons. The owner of this company is irreparable unreliable and does not keep any promises. People who have had simple above ground pools placed he probably did a good job. My job is one he never should've excepted. He kept us out of the pool for two seasons. My Caun does not want to deal with him nor any contractors he dealt with he's been nothing but unfair and on top of that has made so many mistakes that I had to take over to get my CO. Ask the owner why I had to pay $1000 fine after he said I can swim. Ask the owner what you fail to permits in my town is the only why he didn't get a permit to put on a concrete slab when he was supposed to ask the owner why did you open my pool for my daughter's birthday he reset the temperature to 101° and refuse to pay the gas bill. And now he's asking me to pay the balance when he has not even covered my pool. He wants to put a simple Tarpon sandbags under $200,000 job you tell me that's a fair guy I say go find somebody else stay away from this company stay away from him read more

These guys are the absolute worst. Presently going through an install that started two weeks ago. They show up one day, dig the hole, partially assemble the pool and leave. Nobody has been back since. Nobody answers your calls...and when they finally do, Ed just blows smoke up your ass!! They are holding up the entire back yard project. GO ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR POOL! Since we purchased a home with a pool that was installed by Olympic, we had to let their guys come in to do the pool inspection and opening in the spring in order to transfer the warranty. Since it was a salt-water pool, there was minimal work in terms of chemicals and etc., but I was glad to have strong guys to take the covers off and get it cleaned up. Well, I was surprised that they took the pool cover off, folded it up and put it in the mesh bag without cleaning and drying. When I asked if it will get moldy, they guy told me to let the bag sit in the sun for a few days and then store in a cool dry place without rodents. So, I spent the next week rolling the bag around my pavement trying to get sun on all sides and then stored it away for the summer. Imagine my annoyance this weekend when I got the pool cover out for closing and it was covered in mold all over. So for $375, the Olympic Pool guys came to dump a container of chemicals and make my pool cover moldy. Would not recommend them for pool opening - very disappointed. read more

Don't use them. Hired them to open my pool. all they did was take my cover off, primed the filter and threw some chemicals in the pool. It's a salt water pool. They didn't start the salt generator or check salt levels. They didn't vacuum. They charged me almost as much as my prior pool guy, and did half the job. Awful. Do not use them! read more

I look at these prior reviews and am very surprised because everyone I have dealt with at Olympic Pools has been great to us. Mike and his crew come close and open our pool every fall and spring. They show up when they say they will and are friendly. We had an issue with our liner (installed by a different company by the prior owners of our home) and they have gone out of their way to help us with a solution. We also put a down payment on a pool installation at our old house and then decided to move and Ed the owner at Olympic left that down payment as a credit on our account for things we needed for our new homes pool.
