I've been going here forever since I was in grade school I am a hold adult now. I miss Dr. Messinger, but we all have to retire. The new doctor is great. I don't think all of the new staff is great. The young tall guy made me feel some kind of way while he was helping me chose classes, not very friendly, very short as if he was not interested in my small talk. I was telling him how I had gone somewhere else and the product was not that good, so I had to come back to my old doctor anyways the more mature gentleman who help with my contact fitting was so sweet and super nice. He smiled and walked me through the new contact experience. He advised me if I needed anything please call the office, he as doctors Messinger's spirit try and keep the same vibe that has kept people coming back for over 40 years. I came here for the first time to bring my daughter for her eye exam. Her pediatrician referred me to this eye doctor. From the moment on getting on the phone and making an appointment, their customer service was really nice. On the day of the appointment it was kind of difficult finding parking on the street. I didn't know we can park on the "La Quinta Real" Mexican restaurant's parking lot on the back side. It would have been nice if they would have advise me where to park over the phone. That's a suggestion of mine to let their patient know before hand. Their office receptionist are so nice. They have an amazing team with great customer service. Dr. Francis (sorry if I misspelled his name) was nice and patient. My daughter got her first pair of glasses. Next thing you know, I made an appointment for my self. The office has new staff whom is not as professional, as the previous staff. I was charged $79 to replace the temples of my glasses, only one side was replaced now my glasses are slanted. How do you get charged full price for a product and get cheated. I spoke to the office manager who didn't realize she answered the phone too early I heard her huffing about my concern. I will no longer return here and would like my glasses repaired properly or a refund. read more

Very well acquainted with this location since a kid! Before becoming a patient I always came with my grandmother and the atmosphere has not changed all these years! Same smiles and helpful staff even if they changed through out the years... I bring my children here as well and have never had a bad experience. Just left with a new pair of Michael Kors glasses (because I think we still protesting GUCCI) and Mary made my experience even the more special as she laughed at my corny jokes lol... great family environment.... If I could add anything it would be something for little kids to play with as they wait to be called but note they did have on cartoons...even still my 2 year old became restless! Also Naomi wigs know they need to let folks park in that lot, there is not that many people rushing to grab wigs ‍ Be prepared to find parking other than that great service if you are looking for a eye doctor! I went in there for the first time today just to get my glasses adjusted. Keep in mind, I didn't get an exam or glasses here. I'm rating 5 stars simply based on the amazing customer service I received. They are taking the necessary Covid precautions and the girls that work there were very polite. I didn't have to wait long and they adjusted my glasses for free. What surprised me the most is how clean and cute this office is. You'd never know it from the outside. I was definitely surprised of the professionalism going on in that office. I was well taken care of and all my questions and concerns were answered. The only complain I had was the parking situation is not quite ideal and a little confusing for my taste. Gisselle, the woman answering the phone, was very helpful and patiently asked me the questions she needed. I've had other experiences at other offices where the person answering the calls seemed annoyed that someone called at all and felt rushed; not with Gisselle! The staff at the office is nice, caring and attentive! I belive her name was Elianna did my Covid-19 screening she was super nice. The office is nice and clean. They have about 10 girls working with 2 doctors. As a new patient it was quick from start to finished about 1 hour. Prices are reasonable and they have many selections with brands. I would definitely recommend them to family and friends. The office WOW me with the customer service including the doctor. read more

This office is so unorganized I came in for a walk in appt exactly at 9 there a full staff. Only patient with appt and 3 without. There was 5 employees sitting in the front just looking at their Computers instead of trying to assist the walk in patients they didn't start to assist the walk in patients until 9:30 to verify insurance. It's 11 right and my son hasn't been seen by the doctor yet. read more

My sister recommended this office. She takes my niece here. My son who is 10 did not enjoy his first time getting glasses at his previous office. But before we both finished our appointments together he said "Mom, I like this place and the doctor."! And so did I. We had a nice first time here with Dr. Jay and his helpful staff. You guys keep up the good work and thank you for your time. Everyone is very polite...my 5 year old had a bad experience with previous optometrist we were going to so he was scared coming to this one, but he was happy and so was I when we were helped here. The guy at the front desk was awesome applying the eye drops on my son which made it a better visit!! And to top it off the prices are affordable!! read more

All of my children & family went to Dr. Messinger over the years. My son received his first of many eyeglasses starting at age 6;he's 47 yrs. Old now. I went to this office and my great grandson age 7 went to Dr. Messinger's office recently & I was shocked at how the office was operating. People with appointments waiting outside because the waiting room was overflowing; initial eye examination "room" with 2 tables with no privacy. It didn't matter about our appointment time because approximately 15+ people had the same scheduled time. The office pushes you to purchase very expensive frames. It's all about money, money, money. The positive thing I noticed was the equipment is modern and up to date. Unfortunately & sadly because of the "milling" of patients I will not be a patient of this office anymore. read more

Dr. Messinger is great! Love coming here. My husband referred me here 3 years ago.. However, the frames are behind the employees, you cannot walk up & just try on any frames, you have to direct the employee to which ones you want to try on. Which makes me feel uneasy. Treated as if I'm a criminal of some sort.... the Frames here are VERY expensive. $535 for Frames with crizal, & another add on which makes the lenses thin. That was with $120 off from my Insurance. Those same frames online are $174 online. Because of the expensive frames I will not be returning to Dr. Messinger's office. read more

So this is my first time taking both my daughters due to many family members recommending this office. So finally I give in and go try it out since it's very close to home. I liked the fact that walk ins are welcomed, but the wait time is insane! I waited almost 2 hours just so one of my daughters could be seen! On a good note, the doctor and staff were very friendly. Had to to go back the next day because the Dr. was concerned about my daughter's prescription, he scheduled an appointment for her, we came back the next morning with an appointment and we still had to wait because there were other patients first. Soo what's the point of an appointment then? Am I right? . Overall the staff and doctor were very nice and patient, the wait time on the other hand.. Now to just wait and see when my daughters glasses are coming in. read more

Wow what can i say? Dr. Messinger has been my optometrist for about 17 years. Back in the days when it was just him and one other optometrist at the office. His staff has grown and i am still frequenting due the excellant customer service, attention to detail, and the all around health of my eyes which is their main goal. The girls in the front are great (Espi, Rita, Josie, Mary, Sarah and a few more) Armando has been there many years and is an all-around allstar. I love this place and will continue to go. My entire family has been seeing his family (started with my grandma and his father :)) for years and years. Dr. Messinger has taken great care of us. From access to good eye care when my parents couldn't afford to pay out of pocket (they accepted medical) to now when I pay for my own eyewear and still choose to come here. My treatment over the years is what keeps me patronizing this office. BUT LET ME SAY THIS. If I visit one more time and cat any attitude from the new girls in the front, I will not return. I took off work one day to go get new glasses. I asked for a note, and the accounting rep said "its only for if you see a the doctor". No, actually miss, getting new glasses is part of my healthcare and is approved under my sick leave. Not only that, as a paying patron, if I utilize ANY services at your place of business and require a record, I have every right to ask for it and I will. Amazing, great tentative service from the first phone call I placed to them to, to the doctor, to picking out my glasses. Over the phone they are very nice and professional. They also call you on the day of and days leading up to your appointment to remind you of it which I think is great. Dr. Jay Messinger was so great. He listened to everything I had to say, which was a lot, and paid great attention and helped me out so much. Then when picking out glasses I was very picky and asked to try out so many pairs and the girl helping me out did not get annoyed and was patient and very nice. Everyone was of great service. I ordered my refill contact prescription on 4/28/15 an to this day 5/22/2015 they still don't have it worst service ever i had to get refund because they wanted me to wait 4-5 more days to get them i don't understand why tell you're customers that they will have them 7-10 days and take an entire month to actually receive them. I have been a patient for over 20 years. Lately the customer service has plummeted, the only thing that matters in this office is $$$$ they gave me glasses with astigmatism Rx unnecessarily. I paid out of pocket for another exam and was told that they gave me the wrong Rx. My son's glasses were ordered, we went to pick them up, and found defects before we left the office. They were upset we complained that the lens almost fell out; they tagged our chart as "difficult customer". Sorry Dr. Messinger your staff is inadequate! read more
