I had my routine annual exam about 3 weeks ago, and I am always pleased by the consistency of the service all throughout the appointment! Literally no wait time (I can't say the same for other doctor appointments I go to) Everyone in the office seemed to genuinely be enjoying themselves and you can tell they work so well together! From my perspective, it appears the owner Dr. Hernandez really strives to make the office a welcoming environment for not only her patients, but her own staff too! Very rare to see nowadays with businesses! During my exam, I noticed that some of the equipment was new and updated, which made for a neat experience. This is a sign that this practice is continuously innovative and evolving: a positive sign! I was also informed by Dr. Hernandez about an innovative new dry eye device that, from testimonials, is a life changer for anyone that experiences such condition. I'm updating my prior review and upping the stars significantly. Shortly after leaving my prior review (later that evening), Dr. Hernandez reached out to me to discuss my concerns. She listened to what happened, apologized and was empathetic. Moreover, she got me into the clinic the following day to assess my eyes as I was concerned about how quickly my vision appeared to have deteriorated. I am now wearing glasses with new prescription lenses, and I am hopeful the blurry vision and migraines will decrease. The replacement lenses came in quickly and this was all addressed within a week. I was asked to keep them updated on how my eyes adjust. In any case, only one star off here because I had to write that initial review to get things addressed to begin with. That said, I'm hopeful that I can continue going to this neighborhood clinic for my eye care needs for a long time to come. read more

I left an old eye doctor of 30 years because they increased their prices. I'm a single mom & I don't have the funds to spend on extra stuff. I came here and was so happy with their service. They were affordable and very accommodating. That changed. Supposedly they are under new management who doesn't care about customer service, just care about making money. Horrible. Then he moved to Torrance at Clear Choice Optometry, and I liked him so much that I made the 60 mile round-trip visit to him for the next 20 years. Recently, i learned that Dr Hirano retired. After learning of Dr Hirano's retirement, I re-considered whether I would continue making the 60 mile round-trip visit to see the doctor that replaced Dr Hirano. I was looking for a local Torrance Optometrist since I moved and stumbled upon Clear Choice Optometry. It is located in a small shopping plaza with plenty of parking and is really easy to get to. I went with Dr. Hirano and he is so nice and thorough with his eye exam. He walks through the entire process and lets you know why he is performing a certain test so you have a clear understanding of how it is helping for your eye health. All the other staff at the office are very nice and do their best to help make your experience to the doctors as painless as possible. Highly recommend!! They are very good so appointments book out pretty far in advance, but if you are local you can ask to be put on the priority list in the event of last minute cancellations. That is what I did and was able to get squeezed in right before I ran out of my contact lens supply. Hehe. read more

Came here to get a pair of eyeglasses for reading. Everything went great. Got my glasses. They were not cheap thinking they would last because this place has great reviews after eight months the Lenses started peeling I only wear these for reading and put them right back in the case when I'm finished. After it started getting worse, I finally came in to see if they can swap out the lenses for me and I was told the warranty was expired. I need to buy brand new lenses horrible customer service. These glasses were not cheap. And only wear them for about 30 minutes a day and then put them right back in the case You can clearly see in the photo the lenses are defective. This is not from wear and tear. As my glasses have always been inside of a close case indoors on my home office desk, and only come out of the case for about 30 minutes at night to read emails This is from using cheap quality lenses. I've been coming here for a few years now but finally went the contacts route. My prescription is pretty high and they were still able to accommodate me with clear contacts and soon colored contacts. Dr. Hernandez and Bella one of the opticians were both very patient. I had my contact lens trial for the first time and took me a little over an hour to feel decently comfortable. They went through different methods since I have acrylic nails and were able to work with me. I'd recommend coming here if it's your first time trying out contacts, because they took good care of me, even though I kept closing my eyes for the first 45 min! read more

Took my young daughter in for an appointment last week and the front desk/staff who did the machine test (wears glasses and has a tattoo on her arm) was very cold and not friendly at all. Usually I have appointments with Dr. Hirano, but since he was booked 3 months out, I had my first appointment with Dr. Shelly Fukunaga. She is super friendly and caring and explained everything she was doing during my exam and advised me of the option to accept a nominal additional charge for viewing photos of my retinas, which I accepted. Dr. Fukunaga also mentioned that there's a benefit regarding contact lenses that may be covered by my insurance. The efficient office staff phoned my insurance company and found that my policy didn't cover the benefit. Ordered prescription sunglasses from here. They're really friendly, I just brought my prescription from Lenscrafters and went straight to picking out my frame. There's a lot of frames available to choose from. Due to my poor vision, it requires a really thick lens and most of the sunglasses does not allow that prescription. I ordered Prada sunglasses from here and took about two weeks for them to make it. It's great and the lab did a great job making it. Only bad thing about this place is the really small waiting area by the door. read more
