They have a great selection and will remember your preferences, even if you don't visit yearly -- as you should. I think they have contacts as well, but I really enjoy their quick turnaround times for lenses. I've accidentally broken my glasses by sleeping on them, and I was able to get them replaced within the same day. Other places are more expensive and can take up to 2 weeks before you can pick them up. And their service is phenomenal. Jane, the owner, is super friendly and really knows her stuff. She'll be able to pick out the perfect frame for whatever facial shape you have, and keep an eye out for frames that would work for you. I CAN NOT express how amazing this place is! The few times I've been here with my husband, I always saw these two women, always super welcoming! Recently it was my time to upgrade my glasses, not only did I have an easy check up, my glasses were basically done within two days. On top of that they tightened two of my other glasses that I got prior somewhere else AND cased it! Honestly I'm not fond of wearing glasses, call me vain, but I've never found one that suits my face. However I can honestly say they have their fair share of options and designer as well if that's your cup of tea. After getting a quote of $500 from a nearby "discount" optician for using my own Ray Ban frames for a simple under -3. 0 single vision prescription, I made the 30 minute drive to Venice Optical. This place is everything you could wish for if you want quality lenses or contacts at a good price. I got not just one, but TWO pairs of lenses, one was polarized and anti glare with tint and the other a simple clear replacement lense with my new prescription for less than the outrageous price quoted to me for one much less upgraded pair at the other place. They texted me as soon as the glasses were ready in about 1 week, and they replaced the nose pads and adjusted to ensure proper fit when I arrived. Haven't had such a great experience with an op shop in ***years***. I've been wearing glasses for 47 years and have tried all of the options, from super fancy to mail order. Jane is a *wonder* at pulling good frames -- and is honest enough to tell you something is bad if it's not perfect, then she gives you more good options. That kind of help has practically disappeared thanks to W-P and all the chains with their meh, generic frames. She found a solution to an emergency, and got three pairs of glasses all set up for me within days. (Especially delighted that my sunglass lens tint is so much darker than Costco can make, too.) Here's a tip for those wearing glasses to see better: Do not put your glasses where you sit. But if you do, and your glasses get twisted up, go to Venice Optical for repair. I sat in my prescription Trifocals made by Venice Optical and they became unwearable. Okay, first off - everyone is so friendly on the phone. I called to make an appointment with the optometrist. They were organized and I booked the appointment. Days leading in the appointment and one day before, I received reminder texts. That's amazing because sometimes you just forget. So I went to get my prescription done first with their optometrist. She was very straight to the point and asked me a ton of questions that LensCrafters never asked. After, we went to look at frames. I told them exactly what I wanted, the shape, style, color, etc. I have a very full face with no nose bridge so I never had a good time looking for glasses. But they made it so easy for me! They kept bringing me pairs and honestly, I liked all of them. They have anti-glare lens, blue light lens, and even some for prescription polarized lens for sunglasses. I've been seeing her since I was in high school, so well, over 10+ years. She's always so helpful and helps me find glasses that fit me. I've never walked away with a complaint. Fantastic selection of designer frames, fair pricing, and excellent customer service. My boyfriend and I needed new prescription glasses, and wanted to support a local business, as opposed to one of the many corporate optical retailers. I am so glad we did. The small shop is packed to the brim with options, including many luxury brands. They are currently open during the Covid-19 pandemic, by appointment only. Eye exams were booked two months out at the time of our visit, but appointments to select frames were available same day. Jane was lovely, selecting dozens of options for us to try on. She even provided special face masks that prevent your breath from fogging up the glasses. We decided on two pairs of Tom Ford frames, and a pair of Ray Bans with transition lenses. All together, this set us back $1500, significantly less than I expected to pay for top quality prescription frames. Built in blue light filter included.
