My husband and I came in simply because it was time for our checkups, and the whole experience exceeded our expectations. We went in thinking we might need contacts, but thankfully we're at a level where they weren't necessary (yay!). The exam itself was thorough, efficient, and surprisingly easy. Even the dreaded air test for glaucoma, which I usually hate, was quick and painless. The paperwork was clear and easy to complete, which was such a relief compared to other offices where forms feel overwhelming or confusing (almost punitive LOL). I also loved the office ydecor. It's full of travel souvenirs and sports memorabilia, which gives the space so much personality and warmth. I really appreciate offices that feel personal and welcoming rather than cold or sterile. Dr. Au is truly exceptional. He's patient, funny, and genuinely caring. What really stood out to me was that he took the time to get to know us: our lifestyle, habits, and reasons for coming in, and offered personalized advice that actually felt doable. I felt seen and heard, which is honestly rare and so refreshing in healthcare. I just moved back to the South Bay, and I'm so happy to say I've officially found my eye doctor. I ended up purchasing around three pairs that day, and his help was a huge part of why I felt so confident in my choices. More recently, we had to come back because one of our pairs of glasses had broken. We were expecting it to be a whole ordeal, but Ivan took care of us immediately. We were literally in and out in about 10 minutes, and he was able to resolve the issue for us at no charge. It saved us another trip, additional expense, and so much unnecessary stress and frustration. We were incredibly grateful. What really stands out is that this level of service hasn't been a one-time experience. They are not serious people, and they are not professional. The first time, they made my glasses incorrectly, and later they had to replace them. Months later, I came back because the glasses were damaged internally, meaning they were not well made and were poor quality. I went back and asked the girl to adjust the glasses because they felt loose, and I also asked her to check them because they had internal lines--not scratches on the outside, but marks inside, as if the lens coating or film had shifted or something like that. At that moment, she told me they could replace them for free. I said okay, and I went to my car to get my other glasses to make sure I had them with me, since I cannot drive without glasses. When I came back, she then told me I had to pay $250 just for replacing the lenses, not even for new glasses. This is not a serious business. Do not go here. If the app allowed it, I would give them zero stars.
