I'm not currently a patient here, but I will be after my experience just now. I came in with a pair of eyeglasses that I had bought online, and I needed them adjusted to fit my face. Their AI phone answering service said that adjustments were complimentary for glasses purchased through them, and I was fully prepared to pay, but the person who helped me insisted that there be no cost. Today I had my follow-up appointment after wearing my contact lenses for one week. Monica was wonderful while training me on how to place and remove the lenses the week before. Today, Dr. Quick examined my eyes, noted that the lenses fit well, and sent me to the desk to place the order for contact lenses. The young man said that my insurance would cover a certain amount, and I would pay out-of-pocket $91 for a one-year supply of monthly-wear contact lenses. I clarified that I heard correctly, and he confirmed that they would charge my credit card $91 for contact lenses to last one year. I was so happy, until Dr. Quick came out and said she had given him another patient's paperwork by mistake. Everything he told me was incorrect and my insurance didn't actually cover contact lenses at all. I excused myself and walked outside because I was starting to cry. When I came back inside, he handed me my prescription and said he was sorry. They didn't offer any sort of alternate arrangement such as a discount, and I just left empty-handed. I would like the opportunity to speak with someone about ordering contact lenses, as it is unresolved at this point. read more

I like this place, it was pretty efficient to go in for an eye exam and get an updated prescription. Made a reservation and was seen by the optometrists within 15 mins top, and she explain each test prior to the examination. Then I got my prescription and was out of there in 20 mins. read more

From the moment I walked in till I left I felt good about everything. Everyone was friendly and kind and explained to everything in great detail and seemed very knowledgeable. I brought my old script with me that I knew wasn't done right from another location and she quickly looked at it and realized they only had done one eye. Lots of doctor's offices have made it a policy to overbook their schedules and let patients wait. This is one of those places. Unapologetically, they asked me to show up 10 minutes early to fill out a 2 minute form and then have me wait another half an hour. Of course they didn't tell me about the wait. It was only after I've already waited 15 minutes and asked how much longer, did they tell me another 15 minutes (if I'm lucky). I think they do this because there's no repercussion for making patients wait. We simply wait patiently. I walked out and encourage all of you do the same. If they can't keep their schedule, why should I waste my time and pay the cost. If I'm 30 minutes late to any meeting, I don't expect them to wait for me. The office manager that you're asking me to speak to is the same person that's so rudely told me. I'm not welcome to come back into your store so unless you give me the name of the person you would like me to speak to, and that name is not the name of the person who is so incredibly rude. I'm not calling your store. I'm not coming back into your store. I was humiliated for no reason other than the fact that your office manager or head sales person wanted to have fun that day at my expense and they didn't report the exam or the cost correctly to my health insurance so my entire account with VSP is messed up and I wasn't even able to get eyeglasses that day, your store because of the way I was treated so I believe you have my phone number. Haven't been here in a few years but knew it was time for me to come in and get an eye exam done. I made an appointment over the phone. I arrived at my appointment time and was served immediately. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and the check-in process was a breeze. The Dr. that did my eye exam wasn't Dr. Quick from the times before but an Asian lady. She was also very nice and the whole process took only about 10 minutes. The arrangement for my eye contacts to be picked up was made and I'm glad the service here hasn't changed. I was in desperate need of new glasses after losing mine on vacation so I went to Del Amo Optometry. Since I needed them ASAP I agreed to paying $254 for a Columbia frame that to me seemed like a standard frame. Researching the frame online I found it for $95 at three different online retailers. 1. TIME: Christmas time is a bad time to go there. I went in for my eye appointment in early Dec 2019. Customers and employees looked very busy. Also, hours of operation are not helpful to working professionals. 1 Star. 2. OPTOMETRIST: The doctor was fantastic and very informative. I learned a lot. I would go back just for her advice and knowledge. 5 stars. 3. PRODUCT: My insurance said I am due for new lenses, not frames. So I used my current frames to update, meaning, I am not reviewing frames. Those came from Venice Optical (they get 5 stars for service but very expensive). The lenses I got from DAO are fantastic. No problems so far. 5 stars. 4. SERVICE: Everyone was very sympathetic, friendly, and understanding of the fact that it took about a month to get my glasses back. They had to send the glasses out to their lab (offsite). I understand it was the holidays and they are busy but how about a status update or something. I had to do ALL the follow-up phone calls even after they said that the glasses haven't been started on Jan 6. I called on Jan 13 and 14 but they were not ready... I finally got the glasses back on Jan 15, 2020. In the end, they did nothing about the slow service. 1 Star. 5. SUMMARIZE: Holidays are a bad time to go, the optometrist was fantastic, the lenses are working well, and the service was friendly and understanding about the slow turnaround time but did nothing about it. 6. RATING: 1 + 5 + 5 + 1 = 12. Sum divided by 4 = 3 STARS. 7. SECOND CHANCE, MAYBE: I might be back in July when I am eligible for new frames and lenses. They were unable to figure out my insurance....it seemed like they did not know what they were doing. The low star rating does reflect this business. I came in today with an appointment and the receptionist told me I don't have an appointment set. I showed her my phone record that I talked to someone on Saturday to schedule the appointment and she confirmed it is their number but still didn't believe I have the appointment. Then I remember when I called to set the appointment, they pull my insurance so told her about it. She looked up the insurance stack and my record was there. Still I can't see the doctor because they have other appointments they ironically need to keep. I give 2 stars because I want to be fair since I haven't seen the doctor. read more

I had the most horrible experience with this place from the very beginning. I called to schedule an appointment on 2/18, I spoke to the receptionist, and I believe her name was Donna. She asked me if I was a new patient and asked for my insurance information. I gave it to her and she set me up with an appointment on 2/23 at 11am. First Appointment 2/23: I go to my "appointment" check in and the receptionist tells me that I was not in the system and if I was even scheduled there because I could have mistaken that place for the Del Amo Mall optometrist. I looked at her and said No, I'm sure its this place. I looked in my phone and pulled up the phone record and read the number out loud to her and asked if that was their number. She said yes, it was. I said Ok, why am I not listed? She looked me up by insurance and said that nobody noted it down. I was very upset because it was all a waste of my time.She asked if I wanted to schedule another appointment because they were completely booked that day. Of course I said yes, because I need to get contacts. She scheduled me AGAIN for 3/2 at 9:15am. Second Appointment 3/2: I arrive to my appointment at 9:00 am and wait in my car because they aren't open yet. They did not open their doors until 10 after 9 maybe. I checked in and sat down. I literally sat there waiting for about 45 minutes. I saw Dr Quick and she was really nice. I didn't have any issue with her, I actually really liked her. She tells the front desk that I am going to be getting contacts and needed to be told about pricing and such. I sat down with her and she told me what my insurance will be covering and what I needed to pay. She told me that there was a $20 charge for a class on how to put contacts in... WHAAAAT??? a class on how to put on contacts? seriously?? BUT, I will only pay $17 because of my insurance. I am in shock that I need to pay money to learn how to put on contacts. Its not that hard! I end up paying the $87 that day. I was told that my contact trials would be coming in 3 days, so by Tuesday, Wednesday the latest! They said that they would give me a call when they came in and we can schedule an appointment for my "CLASS". Ok, cool! Tuesday 3/5 came and went.. I heard nothing. I called on Wednesday 3/6 and they were out to lunch and left a message with whoever answers the phone while they are out. I received a call about 4:00 - 4:30pm and was told that my contacts weren't in. I was told AGAIN that they will be in tomorrow for sure and we will give you a call. Ok, thanks! I also asked if they can ask the Dr. if I needed to have the plus ( I have an astigmatism) to correct it or I can just use regular contacts without correcting it. She did say that she would ask and let me know tomorrow. Thursday 3/7 I received a missed call at around 4:00pm. It was literally 3 minutes after the call that I called them back. The receptionist answered and I let her know that I had a missed a call just a couple of minutes prior and gave her my name. Her response was "well did they leave a VM for you?" I was taken back a bit and said "well it literally just happened and I called back" She said "well, there are a lot of us here sweetie sooooo..." I said "well its probably in regards to my contacts? you can check my file and see if anyone left any notes in it? (yes, i had an attitude with her because her tone was unnecessary) she said "well, whats your name?" I gave her my name and birthdate she then put me on hold for nearly 10 minutes!! she comes back and said they called to let me know that my contacts still had not arrived and that they should be here tomorrow. I told her "theres no need to contact me when they come in I do not want to do business with you. Please cancel my order and refund me back my money" "this whole experience with your office has been terrible from the beginning for me until now and then you have me on hold for 10 minutes??" her response: Well, we are busy here. hold on Proceeds to put me on hold comes back and says that they are only going to refund me back $17...... WTF?? NOOOO.. I said what? no, i paid $87 id like all of my money back. She put me on hold again comes back and said that they can do $77 because I had a $10 copay, ok, thats fine. Gave her my card info and asked that she send me my prescription for contacts and glasses. Well they aren't going to send me a prescription for my contacts because Im not getting them through them. Stupid!! I was so upset that her customer service was so terrible! Im not sure of her name, but she was definitely the younger one in the office. PROS: Quick, friendly staff CON: Not much of a selection on glasses. I've been going to this place for a few years now. Never really had a problem with them. Eye exams are usually quick and painless. They are really patient with you. Waiting area is REALLY small though. Parking is great. When selecting glasses, they don't mind answering questions you might have. Though I find the selection to be small. And only a few of them looks good. However, if you do find a decent looking one, the build is solid and doesn't feel cheap. They get it back to you quickly also. At most, it'll take a week. For contacts, they're overpriced compared to sites like 1800Contacts. Though they have the same brands in stock. I'm going to keep coming here until something goes wrong or they don't have something I want. read more

Excellent Experience! I went to get my eyes checked after COVID slowed down because I've been looking at the screens a lot. The optometrist was very good and polite! She was friendly and explained how progress very nicely! The front desk employees are also very polite and encouraging people to wear masks and hand sanitize. I must say the support staff was super friendly and kind! OMG those girls were awesome. Speaking of the optometrist, she was doing my exam and she asked me multiple times if I was on pain meds because I appeared tired and pain meds "mess up your eye exam." Reality was, I had actually just worked a 1900-0730 shift the night before at the hospital so I was running on 3 hours of sleep and zero caffeine (my appointment was at 1130). Who wouldn't look like someones family member from the walking dead? People are allowed to appear tired without having been on drugs. I looked like a zombie everyday of my high school/college career. She wasn't over the top rude or anything, did a decent exam, and explained herself well. I was just taken aback from the assumption she made about me. FYI: Tattoos and piercings do not = someone is on drugs but I used to watch one of the doctors in the parking lot smoke some Mary Jane every day before work. Dr. Quinn has been our primary Optometrist for well over 5 years. Dr. Quinn is a great doctor and the ONLY reason I haven't left and gone somewhere else. The staff is indifferent to your needs and never seem to want to help you when you call. I just called and spoke to Dora, who sounded like she had better things to do than answer my questions. Her reply, before I even finished my question, was "you need to come in"....how can you know that before hearing my question?! Dora is extremely rude to the customers..I wonder if the manager knows how she speaks to people on the phone! I need to find a new Optometrist. read more

I arrived to my appt an hour early, assuming I was going to wait I grabbed a magazine and sat down in the waiting area....I didnt get to page one before my name was called and the doctor saw me!! The doctor was friendly and informative. I expressed my concerns about working in IT and looking at monitors every day and she perscribed me computer glasses to help with my migranes. I have not one complaint about the doctor or the technology used. It was quick painless and easy! I did feel a little lost looking for frames since the gentleman helping me did not really ask any questions or talk to me in general. He made me feel a little rushed. I have never had glasses before and this was a new experience to me. I am sure if you know what you are looking for you might not want help, but I just needed a few pointers and compliments! The girls at the desk were great and helpful though and the doctor was great!! They took my insurance so I cant comment on the prices but overall I would def do business wiht them next year! read more

The staff are extremely rude, don't bother coming here if you expect good, hell even decent, customer service. They filled my prescription wrong and first said they would give me another exam for free to fix that but when I went in for my appointment they said they tried to call to cancel the appointment (they called my house number but I had been at work all day), and that now the exam would not be free. It's just been a terrible experience all around and the staff basically have a "screw you" attitude. read more
