I've been coming for over 20 years. Dr. Reiner and Dr. Lee no issues ever at all. The new staff since Covid is not the best. I left once and went to Costco but came back and now I'm done with this office. I called the other day and was on hold for 10 minutes. I am trying a new optometrist next month when my insurance is available for full exam etc. My latest glasses are horrible. Spent so much money. The anti reflection is expensive yet it doesn't look like I have it. In pictures, I look horrible. Can't see my eyes. The new doctor I got was nice but probably examined me wrong. My glasses are hard to use. The countertops and tables look curved. Also she told me the price for a contact lens exam and gave me the wrong price. If I would have known I would have said nevermind I will live without new contacts. I paid so much money for a horrible product. I told the staff and they didn't care. I was forced to pay even though she made an error and saw the wrong price. I cried and cried in my car. Melody called me and probably realized I was upset and she tried her best to make me happy and I agreed with her offer and that was that. But for the past year, I've been wearing my old prescription glasses because the new ones are simply hard to use. Plus I spent so much money on new frames and new contact lens exam that I didn't have enough money left over for new sunglasses so I've been using my sunglasses from two prescriptions ago and now I fell while running and they scratched up so I am forced to replace everything. I hope the new office that I will be trying out is good to me. read more

I was tweaking in my previous review ..... was all a huge misunderstanding & communication Issue, which I can't entirely blame them.... i shouldve asked more details regarding b the appointment price. However, besides that issue turnaround time was quick, all staff is super friendly...regardless of my obnoxious review. Very old office with old equipment, cheap selection and poor quality glasses. Don't pay extra for any tests or add ons, it's just a market scheme and quality is so bad and cheap. Bad serVice, everyone is rude and pushy especially the supervisor melody. She won't give you the prescription because she wants you to buy from them. read more

This optometry office is the only one I have ever been to back when it was Dr. Reiner... so roughly 30 years. I called today to make an appointment and let me say this... even if you say things in a nice tone... it does not mean you are not being rude. "Julie" felt the need to inform me that we are in the middle of a pandemic - thank you very much captain obvious. (See... nice tone, still very rude - I can do that as well). Instead of simply letting me know that the hours have been cut back to due the pandemic you decided to give me a lesson in current events. I still need to make an appointment though, so let's do it for when you have availability in July. The conversation continued to go sideways so I decided to find a new eye doctor. It's too bad, because I really like Dr. Lee. I'm going to need "Julie" to lose the attitude and take the appointments like a decent human being. My family and I will be looking for another optometrist office. The front desk girls are moody, so consider yourself lucky if they are polite - you caught them on a good day. Also, the selection of frames they have to offer is of low quality and it is overpriced. read more

Dr. Lee was very patient caring and very down to earth. I would want her to always be my EYE DOCTOR as for her staff they are mostly staying in the back instead of being out front to take care of people coming in for Dr. Lee I gave Dr. VF5 star because she was great with both my mom and I I would definitely go back to her. read more

It's sad this place has changed so much. I've been going here since I was a little girl but I am no longer coming here ever again. They don't know how to do glasses at all! I went back like 6 times trying to tell them I couldn't see clear and they tried forcing me to keep them and they claimed I would get used to them but I tried and couldn't get used to them. I wasn't seeing clear at all and they changed my prescription 3 times trying to see if that's what was wrong but it wasn't. The guy that makes the glasses there doesn't know what he's doing. I had to return both pair of glasses because it was useless keeping them and I went elsewhere to get new glasses and they got it right the first time! This place is a joke now. It was a Tuesday, Dr Reiner examined me. He is a very kind optometrist who's been in business for 55 years! Gentle, patient and thorough. He saw I had a problem and made a referral call right away to see a specialist the next day, he saved my eyesight! I like Dr Reiner, he's only there on Tuesdays, go see him. Now, that melody lady, she's the blonde lady, she's the sales person there. Quick to answer and she lied to me about ordering frames... its been over a month since i visited and she told meet that she" would call as soon as they arrived, i promise you" yeah right. Would recommend this Optometrist to anyone who wants an efficient As well as friendly place to go for their eye care. I felt cared about, they were very thorough, and in spite of it being my first time there, everything was completed and my glasses were ordered in less than an hour! I was so surprised. This was my second and last year coming to this Optometrist office. My main complaint/disappointment is with the staff and lady in the back processing vision claims through the insurance. Patients should never be lectured and talked down when being asked how the office processes claims since the insurance was telling me one thing and the office another. Regardless of the negatIve experience with my recent visit. The Dr I saw did a great job and will recommend her, the staff however should up their customer service skills. read more

The lady who did my eye test to blow air in my eye was the rudest ugliest thing that walks on this planet, she did the highest setting I was pregnant at the time my eye couldn't keep itself open due to the pain and she didn't care I walked out immediately and went to another eye dr who was so gentle. Melody is THE WORST. Dr Lee is rude. I wish Dr Reiner would take his practice back and fire that old hag Melody, whenever I have to deal with her it's always a hassle and I feel so rushed. This place lacks custom service and there's like 4 chairs in the waiting area. The girls in the front usually have an attitude as well and it's always been an uncomfortable experience going there ever since I was little. The best decision I made was finding a new optometrist. This place is convenient because it's down the street and next to the store but I'd rather drive a few extra miles so I don't have to put up with Melody and have to look at her dressing like a teenager when she's clearly 60+ years old. I ordered a pair of glasses and when they came in they told me that it did not come with anti-reflection (which I ordered) and so I had to come back which was extremely inconvenient. Now when I came back, they put on the anti-reflection on the lenses and they ended up scratching my lenses meaning they had to order a new pair and I had to wait even longer. This is extremely inconsiderate, inconvenient, and unprofessional. read more

I've always had issues with my vision since an adolescent. I had 3 childhood eye surgeries to remove cataracts and have always had trouble with my left eye vision. Dr. Yang and the previous Dr. Before her have been the only 2 Eye Dr's to care enough to pull vision out of my left eye. I feel like they are very knowledgeable and caring to where they were able to have my contacts completely paid for as a medical necessity because my eyes fight against each other I have a high +9.0 positive left eye and a high negative right eye which mean I can't wear glasses with both pre scorpions so I have to wear contacts to see. I would highly recommend Dr. Kristen Lee's office for your eye needs. read more

If you are in need of getting your eyes examined or contact lenses in the city of Carson, then look no further than the Optometrist office of Dr. Robert S. Reiner and Dr. Kristen Lee. I received an eye consultation from Dr. Lee and she along with her staff are excellent when it comes to customer service. I had my eyes checked by Dr. Lee and she was very nice and friendly, I felt comfortable right away, especially since I had to look her in the eye...get it?.. because I had an eye exam?! There was a wide selection of glasses to choose from as well as sunglasses, which was what I was getting. I picked a pair of Prada frames that would fit my prescription lenses perfectly. The office is conveniently located between Carson and Avalon in the Ralph's shopping center, parking is plentiful, and close to the 405 freeway. I especially appreciate the size of the place, it isn't too large where you would get lost amongst all the eye-wear, there are just enough seats to sit down while you wait. So if you are in the Carson area, don't let your eyes deceive you, look for the "Optometrist" sign above the front door and you will surely see things clearly! read more

Horrible service. I called to ask for a prescription to be ready and still had to wait!! The staff is horrible and don't care about keeping as a customer. We have been going here for a few years now because I want to give second and third chances and it's local but now my patience is gone. As I sit here now still waiting, the staff is so slow to move....no and still prescription. There is no care for other people's time. Office is clean , staff is friendly and very pleasant to pass time with while you wait for Doctor and accommodating. The doctors are nice and knowledgeable and will use terms you understand. The only negative is due to Covid restrictions as a patient/ customer you can't use their restroom and need to go next door to Ralph's Market . You will need to call before entering the office so be patient because the staff is limited at this time but they will answer phone by the 2nd call . read more

I have been bringing my elderly Mothere her for the last few years. Dr Lee is thorough, professional and pleasant, and we have always experienced average customer service from the reception staff, which is okay. However, today I brought my Mom in with a question regarding her insurance statement as related to the amount she paid the office for her glasses. The receptionist was unable to assist us, so we waited a few minutes for the blonde short lady that does the billing. She was extremely rude and I had to be persistent for her to even explain the statement to us. She said she was angry because of the way insurance companies prepare statements for their patients. Her attitude exhibited extremely poor customer service. While Dr. Lee is wonderful, such negative interaction with this deplorable lady is definitely causing her patient load to decrease. read more

Dr. Lee and the office staff was great and friendly! Eye exam took less than an hour to go from checking in to picking out glasses. This was actually my first time seeing an optometrist and Dr. Lee made the experience easy, relaxed and enjoyable. I couldn't wait to pick out my glasses. There's an entire wall of glasses to choose from and many different styles. I ended up going back to the same pair after checking out a few other options, Marc by Marc Jacobs frames. To top it off they had this woman, whom obviously was a style expert, give me all the details of what was going to be covered by my insurance and easily explained my costs. I was told they'd be ready in a week, even though the following week was Thanksgiving, they called me and told me glasses were ready exactly in 7 days. So I was ready to show off my new glasses to the family! Thanks once again to Dr. Kristen Lee and her office staff for providing me with great service and a great deal on these frames! read more

I am filing a complaint on behalf of my father. My father attempted to go in today as his glasses were loose and he wanted to have them adjusted. He stopped by the office just after 1:30pm and didn't see anyone in the office. He called and asked if they were in and Melody informed him that they were taking lunch and would be back at 2:00pm. My dad said okay no problem and walked into the Ralph's next door to pick up a couple of items he needed and then at 2:30pm went back to the office. He pulled on the door and found it locked AGAIN. So he called AGAIN and asked if they were open yet. Melody asked very rudely what he needed and he explained to her he needed to have his glasses adjusted. She again, responded very rudely, that "We're not offering those services now for our own protection". Well, that's something that should have been explained to him immediately so he didn't wait an additional hour for them to open up after lunch. Had anyone bothered to ask him what he needed in the first place this could have been avoided. However, I suppose it was inevitable as Melody is very rude and lacks any sort of customer service skills. My family has been going to Dr. Lee for 17 years but we will not be returning after this. This is not the first time we have been treated poorly by Dr Lee and Dr Reiners staff but it will certainly be the last time. read more

I had an awful experience at this office. Should you interact with the unprofessional and inapproporiate woman, Melody (I beleive this is her name), please call your insurance company, file a grieveance and ask to be able to see someone else. My insurance did and I asked them to look into their profile because of the frequent issues patients seem to have with this office. I didnt look at Yelp before since it is important to start with a blank canvas. The woman was confrontational when asking for my prescription and said "we're not trying to hide it from you" called me "odd" multiple times. I suggested that she may want to use precision of language or consider word choice when communicating with patients. She later said "Maybe its a language issue. Do you speak another language?" The implied meaning with this was not acceptable. I felt uncomfortable and would hate for anyone to interact with anyone, in any capacity this way. read more
