My husband and I came in simply because it was time for our checkups, and the whole experience exceeded our expectations. We went in thinking we might need contacts, but thankfully we're at a level where they weren't necessary (yay!). The exam itself was thorough, efficient, and surprisingly easy. Even the dreaded air test for glaucoma, which I usually hate, was quick and painless. The paperwork was clear and easy to complete, which was such a relief compared to other offices where forms feel overwhelming or confusing (almost punitive LOL). I also loved the office ydecor. It's full of travel souvenirs and sports memorabilia, which gives the space so much personality and warmth. I really appreciate offices that feel personal and welcoming rather than cold or sterile. Dr. Au is truly exceptional. He's patient, funny, and genuinely caring. What really stood out to me was that he took the time to get to know us: our lifestyle, habits, and reasons for coming in, and offered personalized advice that actually felt doable. He checked the prescription and placement of prescription on my progressive lens. Also checked if a higher or less prescription helped my vision. They took my order and when I called back to ck no one answered the phone. I had to go back in person to ck on my order, they didn't even have a note in the computer with my prescription or that I had even came there previously and had asked specifically about two pairs of frames they stated they sold there. I had to start the process all over again! The optometrist (sorry forgot his name, older man, gray hair and beard) who came to help me Had had the friggn shakes!! he could not hold his hands still. He scribbled marker all over the sample glasses to make the markings to line up with my pupils for the glasses I was ordering and paying for. His writing was illegible. I didn't feel confident about the markings he made regarding my PD. I called on more than 3 occasions to ck on my glasses. No one answered the phone all three times. I left voicemails no call back. I emailed, no email or call back. I finally went up there only to find out my glasses were ready! No accountability. Antionette kept trying to defend herself "It wasn't me " OK well can you find out why or what happened? I asked to speak to a manager and or the owner. I was promised someone would call me. I NEVER received a call. After I picked up my glasses, Antionette didn't even ask if they fit well, or could I see out of them. She was ready for me to go. I called her back a few days later in the morning which she suggested if I wanted to speak to someone, to ask about my promised phone call. Once again, she got defensive as though there was nothing she could do. This was a terrible experience for spending over $500 dollars on glasses. Terrible customer service, no follow up. No accountability no professionalism No system of records regarding your medical information (i.e. prescription), BUYER BEWARE. I would not shop here. There are much more professional and better places. This Dr William K Shiomi should be ashamed to have his name assciaed with the place, Still never received a call from him or anyone else regarding my concerns.

I made the mistake of taking my father to this location for an eye exam…read more The doctor who assisted him with the exam was not patient. He rushed my father during the exam and made him feel very uncomfortable. This resulted in 1 pair of regular glasses with a strong prescription and 1 pair of sunglasses with a strong prescription as well. My father had a second exam and this other doctor was doing the same thing. I had to ask her to slow down and allow my father to process each option. My father had to wait almost a month before actually receiving the correct prescription. Also, the staff never called to let us know his glasses were ready. I had to either show up in person or call ahead to check on the status. We're talking about 4 different pairs of glasses that I had to chase down. They charged for a full exam but didn't even dilate his eyes. Furthermore, during that same period, I took my daughter for an eye exam. Her exam was Ok but I've gone to other locations were the service is of high quality. I also had to chase down her glasses because no one called to let me know they were ready. This location is dirty. The exam room is full of junk. The carpet is dirty and they have a limited amount of chairs in the waiting area. People are standing around waiting for seats. I do not recommend this place. Do your homework and find a comfortable location. Get your moneys worth.
