Dr. Ishigo helped my eye feel better! I had strong eye irritation and I asked if I could be seen with very short notice before the weekend. The team was welcoming upon arrival and quickly took me to the doctor's office. Dr. Ishigo was able to identify an eye lash stuck in my lower eye lid. She took out the eye lash that was deeply embedded in my eyelid and also made sure that no further eye damage was done. The irritation is now gone! Feeling grateful for her and her team for their timely, kind, and effective care. read more

My insurance kicked in and I needed eyeglass right away because I had lost mine recently... Also I needed new prescription Initially I attempted to call the other local optometry They all seemed to take my call in haste and pretty much told me they couldn't see me until next week I call Ishigo office, and behold they saw me right away The ladies there were very warm and friendly yet professional through and through Dr. Ishigo was detailed and answered any and all my questions I was in and out feeling great and 3 days later .... I made the switch to Ishigo Optometry this year, after reading all the positive reviews, and I'm so happy I did. For years I've been experiencing eye fatigue and Dr. Ishigo was able to root out and address/correct the problem. Dr. Ishigo has been my optometrist for 2 years now. She's incredibly informative, thorough in her examination, and has great chairside manner. She's always spot on with my glasses Rx. Never had to come back for an adjustment or redo a Rx. This year she implemented a new optomap machine that takes digital images of you retina. Really cool stuff!! She used the digital images to review the health of my retina. Her staff is very warm and inviting. With regards to Covid, I felt very safe during my eye appointment. Touch points are regularly sanitized and there are barriers in place. She also carries a great selection of frames. read more

This is not my first time here, I have been coming here for years, Dr. Wayne was my my eye doctor about six months ago he retired. A new doctor took over in the same building and just the name change. Dr.Amy Ishigo Optomertry OD. Is the new name now. She is very nice and friendly plus so young, I do believe I could be her dad. Would never come back here. I came to this optometry based on the good reviews, I am now thinking they are friends & family, most of the commenters are not even from the South Bay where this is located. I DO NOT RECOMMEND COMING HERE! First off they upsold me an exam which I probably could've done without, I was in my 20s, probably not at risk for cataracts. I paid about $800 total for an eye exam, replacing my current glass lens (no frame), and some no brand contacts (WITH INSURANCE). They overcharge you. On top of overcharging you they didn't do a good job with my lens placement so the lens is sticking out from the frame. When I asked to get it redone they agreed but wasn't too friendly about the whole process and told me they only allow for 1 more adjustment. So even after the 2nd one was not how I liked it I just had to accept it as is, the lens was still sticking out of the frame so it was touching my cheeks... They also send your glasses somewhere else so the process takes quite a bit of time. And the worst part is that the lenses became loose after about 5 months in... and I don't even wear these glasses everyday due to it being uncomfortable. And now after 1.5 years they are still calling me to come back for an overdue eye exam. It is August, and my exam was supposed to be done in February, it's been overdue for 6 months, probably means I went somewhere else if I never called them back for another appointment. I also held myself back from writing a bad review initially but having them call me every couple of months to make an appointment when I haven't been responding to their calls is quite annoying, understand that I am not interested. If I wanted to make an appointment, I would call back. Probably the business isn't doing too well and they need me to spend another $800 there. No thank you. read more

I usually don't write bad reviews but I felt obligated to do it because we had a very bad experience with this doctor. My husband and I used to go here before Dr Ishigo took over. We were very happy with the previous doctor but after seeing her, we will never go back to this place again. Dr. Ishigo is rude, impatient, and condescending. She was very pushy and tried to upsell contact lenses that my husband didn't need. She was not pleasant and felt like a bad salesperson more than a doctor. read more

I drove all the way from the valley to get my eyes checked by Dr. Ishigo! She is the most thorough, kind, and knowledgable optometrist I've been to. She takes her time with each patient and answers any questions I have. I've struggled with many years of terrible contacts, but once I met Dr. Ishigo, she recommended the perfect brand that wouldn't exacerbate the chronic dry eyes I was suffering from! She gave me tips on how to avoid getting dry eyes in the future too. The staff is excellent as well! They were able to find me a rebate for my contacts. Woo! Free parking! Open Saturdays! This place was previously known as Wayne Yoshioka Optometry. It was recently purchased (within a year or so) by Dr. Amy Ishigo. I went there for the first time, and it was a pleasant visit. The doctor is extremely nice, thorough and knowledgeable. I am sure your visit will be the same. They are closed Wednesday and Sunday. The price for an eye exam seemed quite reasonable.
