Great brunch spot! Came for Father's Day with my F-I-L and had an excellent brunch. It's a small…read moreplace but there is ample seating and they did a ton of take-out. The 6 of us sat near the front and were quickly brought water and coffee. I ordered a breakfast bowl and dad got a waffle with a bunch of fruit. The food was excellent as was the service. We will definitely be back.

We recently stopped by The Shine Cafe and had an overall good experience with a few areas that…read morecould use improvement. I ordered the "Double Trouble" -- French toast loaded with cookie dough, Oreos, Nutella, and chocolate sauce. Let me just say... that dish is a train straight to diabetes. In all seriousness, it was absolutely delicious and indulgent, but definitely on the overly sweet side. If you have a serious sweet tooth, this one's for you. My wife went with the Classic Eggs Benedict, and that was excellent -- well-balanced flavors and cooked just right. The breakfast potatoes, however, were a bit bland. They were cooked well texture-wise but could definitely use more seasoning. Service was so-so, though it seemed like they were pretty busy, which likely played a role. The location is great -- conveniently about a mile from Woodside Church, one of the largest churches in Michigan -- so I can imagine it gets especially packed on weekends. One important note: restroom maintenance needs attention. With only a single restroom per gender, cleanliness is critical. My wife noticed the toilet seat wasn't clean, which is something that should be addressed promptly, especially in a high-traffic establishment. Overall, the food quality was strong, particularly the main dishes, and we'd likely return -- but there are definitely a few operational details that could elevate the experience.

My buddy and I checked out Lela's in Auburn Hills for the first time today, and I've gotta say--it…read morewas a great experience all around. It's conveniently not far from his house, so it made for an easy stop, and we're both really glad we decided to give it a try. Right when we walked in, the vibe stood out. The place is really nicely decorated with a cool, welcoming atmosphere that just makes you feel comfortable right away. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which always goes a long way. Shoutout to our waitress--unfortunately I can't remember her name, but it was actually her first day, and she absolutely crushed it. Super attentive, kind, and on top of everything. You would never guess she was brand new. Food-wise, I ordered the American breakfast sandwich (I think it might've gone by a different name before), and it was fantastic. Everything was just right--the eggs were fluffy, the sausage was flavorful, and the lettuce and tomato added a fresh touch that pulled it all together. Every bite hit. My buddy kept it simple with eggs, toast, and tomato slices, but even that looked really good--the tomatoes especially looked fresh and delicious. Overall, great service, great food, and a really cool atmosphere. Hands down, I'll definitely be back.
