I've been on the fence with this, and I can no longer support Java Jax. The staff is SUPER nice, but the older gentleman, whom I think may be one of the owners, can be VERY rude! And what I saw today was the last straw for me. Me and the gentleman he was rude to just looked at each other and shook our heads. It feels borderline racist at times. I gone here nearly every day for two years. The owner still looks at me like I'm from outer space every time I order. I order the same thing, every single time. All of the employees are wonderful. They know exactly what I want without me saying a word. The owner? I have to explain to spell it out, every single time. Zero loyalty or recognition. The food quality has been consistently getting worse. The tomatoes are routinely "dusty" looking and look like they have sat in the fridge for a week. My final straw was when I got an everything bagel that came from Safeway that tasted like cardboard. When I asked the owner about it, he said that he ran out of bagels from the "normal bakery" and he had to get some from a "different bakery" (i.e. Safeway). Gross. The Internet rarely ever works. The rotating art is nice and like I said, the employees are great. If you spend a couple thousand dollars somewhere and go there every day, it'd be nice to be treated like something more than a human cash machine. read more

Driven by this place a thousand times, always curious of the hot dog special for $4.50. Finally stopped and parked and ordered the special. Chicago dog style with a bag of chips and a can of soda for under $5. Best bang for your buck meal if your looking for that low priced hot dog fix. Sac's is still great but if you want to try something new, I suggest you pull up and try it out. Great hospitality as well. read more

I cherish visiting Java Jax whenever I visit Vallejo. What this local business has is consistency. Another poster, J.B., critisizes the owner for his demeanor. Maybe the bespectacled owner isn't doing excited backflips everytime a guest comes into the cafe, but he runs a tight ship and you always know you're going to get good service and a perfect cup of coffee. I go to Java Jax to appease my weekly (if not more) craving for a bagel & lox sandwich. Staff is always friendly, they take care in getting your order right, and they're not stingy with the cream cheese if that's your thing. They have a nice selection of fresh pastries, and really good breakfast sandwiches. I have not had the chance to try any of there lunch items, but I'm sure they're exceptional also. Did I mention they serve Double Rainbow ice cream!! They're located in the downtown area of Vallejo with an "old-time" feeling. Outdoor sitting is nice, I myself have not had the chance to enjoy since I grab and go. I think they may also have free WiFi. read more

I am so glad to have found this place! I am from San Francisco and recently moved to Fairfield and could not stand going to Starbucks for coffee that tasted awful. On a Sunday morning I found myself in Vallejo. With a couple of hours to kill. It was coffee time and I was in an unfamiliar city so checked out Yelp on my IPhone. Drove over to Java Jax and ordered a cappuccino and a bagel with lox and cream cheese. They were both excellent. I spent two hours there reading the New York Times. Had a breakfast bagel with ham and a turkey club for lunch. Both were a little mild tasting (could also mean healthier and lower sodium) The ordering process was really long and cumbersome. This is a really great place to stop to get a bagel and coffee, they're both great here. Add the great service, squeaky clean classic environment, and generous helpings of cream cheese and you have a solid coffee house. Now if they could only open the upstairs patio to guests. read more

Java Jax is a bit of an anomaly in this area. I work around the corner have yet to find another sandwich shop that can even come close to providing the service and quality of food that you can get at Jax. I NEVER write reviews, but I had to for Java Jax. This place is awesome! My boyfriend is from Chicago & has complained for years that he can't get a true Chicago Dog in California. For his birthday dinner, I wanted to have Chicago Dogs, but it was way too expensive to order everything online & have it shipped. I called Dave & explained situation. He put together a complete care package for me, including the celery salt, peppers, relish - all of it. He went out of his way to make sure I had everything I needed and he was so nice. I've driven past this place for years and never thought much of it. Now, Java Jax will be on our regular list of breakfast & lunch spots. read more

At first I loved this place I got the lox everytime and my bf gets the breakfast bagle. Then I came in one day and got my usual and it looked thrown together. A giant square of cream cheese and then barley any lox. I brought it to the cashier and he emediatly had an aditude saying that this is how it is always made. coffee shop in an old auto garage! Awesome breakfast and great drinks... The French pressed coffee is better than average (everything is average these days) and my GF's Hot Chai was damn impressive. Every aspect of the food and drinks is right on! From espresso strength to foamy froth! It also fills the minimum requirement of having free wifi! read more

My favorite dive in restaurant in Vallejo for brunch and coffee. I usually go there every other day for their breakfast sandwiches, bagels and coffee that hit the spot for me. I love the people that works there and I know them as well and I like seeing the usual customers and new ones as well. The wi-fi service is great as well just ask for the passcode and it's easy access. I like to sit there for a hour if I am watching YouTube videos or what not. A great spot to chill out. read more
