Situated in a convenient location to the downtown area. Sonoma and Georgia Street. Looks like it used to be a gas station. Coffee here is as good as any other coffee place around. Seems pretty low key and friendly in here with lots of tables and seating for those that want to hang out. I usually stop here if I'm in the area on Saturday for the Farmer's Market on Georgia Street. read more

I love this place, starting with the fact that this used to be a gas station. The coffee is great...very tasty. If you just come for the coffee alone, it's definitely worth the trip. But if you shouldn't just come for the coffee, they have awesome food. I came here and had a bagel with cream cheese and lox...it was sooo good. I still have dreams about that bagel. Basic tasty comfortable clean convenient. Short menu long in flavor, easy parking, great bowls of chow. Do it.

4 stars for their coffee (much better than Starbuck's and on par with Peet's), awesome smoothies (try the banana-strawberry-peach combo!), and yummy bagels. Indoor and outdoor seating. Steps away from the Farmer's Market! And soooo dog friendly - they have water bowls outside and will bring your to-go order out to you if they see you're waiting with your dog(s)! read more

Damn fine coffee, friendly and efficient service, really good bagels and bagel sandwiches, and very cute and clean seating area (I do love the funky diner-style stools). I took one star away only because they don't have a huge variety of non-bagel/non-sandwich foods on offer. How about a yogurt & fruit parfait or oatmeal for breakfast, or a nice fresh salad for lunch? The Double Rainbow ice cream tempts me every time I go in there, but I bravely resist. They have the best coffee around, and know how to make the perfect cappucchino. read more

Great place for Vallejo. I was debating between 4 and 5 stars, and decided on 5, because for this quiet town, it really does stand out as exceptional. I wish it stayed open later. They have always been friendly to me when taking my order and the food and coffee is delicious. Very cute redesign of an old gas station and convenient when walking downtown. I have passed by a hundred times, always meaning to try them out, especially since they are my friend, Yurik's, favorite. Needed my morning fix and out of coffee at home, finally tried them the other day. The French Roast tasted like hot water with a bit of coffee flavoring. Pretty gross and after downing the whole cup, I was ready to take a nap-no coffee zing at all...and expensive as hell! One scone and one medium coffee was $4.75!!!! I am all for supporting the locals and will even pay extra for it but only if it's at least as good! Pastry was tasty. read more

Would NOT recommend this place at all. Ordered simple bagel breakfast sandwiches and coffee. Only one other customer in cafe besides us. Owner was more interested in teaching his young, inexperienced wait staff about our 100 dollar bill and how to detect if it was counterfeit or not. We sat down with our coffee and patiently waited for our breakfast bagels. Dozen customer later and about 25 minutes we decided to ask for out money back. I'll give this establishment one star because I didn't need to cause a stink to get my money back. read more

A neighborhood hangout, the brewed coffee is on the light side (for the Bay area) but goes well with the sandwiches and excellent pastries. Great hot dogs, (Double Rainbow) ice cream and very welcoming- Vallejo locals are probably the most friendly folks in the Bay area. It gets knocked a star for closing way too early and removing the French press coffee (which was excellent) from the menu. read more

Great cup of coffee! Great pastries.The Breakfast sandwiches are my better half's favorite. Sometimes I just get a bagel and cream cheese that's also excellent. There Cafe Mochas are also delich!!! I love this place! I'm not going to lie, the coffee (straight black with nothing in it) is a bit on the expensive side, but it is of great quality and the owner (I think he's the owner) is always there, very friendly, very attentive, and always thanks me for coming in and for busing my table. The food is excellent (only local place I know where one can get a Chicago style dog), and their ice creams are very tasty (though if you intend to get a shot of espresso over said ice cream, I'd suggest you don't get the soy ice cream as it turns gummy when heated). Overall this place is fantastic with fantastic service and they have WiFi (can't remember if it's free since I always buy something and they give me the code when I ask.) read more

I'm in Vallejo for three weeks visiting from Washington, DC, and Java Jax has been my daily escape and source of good coffee. It's got a great location in a converted service station. They've got free wireless and lots of tables that make it pretty good for getting some work done. On the weekday mornings I've been here it's been pretty empty with fast, friendly service and more than enough space. They're regular old coffee is good. I actually recommend it over the espresso drinks, I tried a cappuccino and a latte and they were average, but I'd say the regular coffee is well above average, certainly head and shoulders above starbucks. I also recommend their Bagel with Lox and the fixings. read more

I've been here a few times, and while I love bagel with cream Cheese and the Turkey Pesto sandwich, I'm a little sad that cheese doesn't come on the sandwhich unless you order it. I have ordered a smoothie here before and paid almost $5 for it....to me it didn't taste good at all. I ended up throwing the whole thing away. I would also like to say that there are some dog owners who go there to sit outside and don't keep their dogs on any type of leash....so I hope the owner or whoever will look into that. read more

Great place! Ordered a Chihuahua dog and a Chicago dog.....So, so, so good!!! The Chihuahua dog is a Vienna dog with bacon in between the dog and bun. Topped with tomatoes, onions, jalapenos and sour cream.....mmmm....hot dog+bacon= the best. The Chicago dog is your typical Chicago style dog....dog, tomato, onion, sport peppers, pickle, relish, and celery salt. Just like the one I had in Chi town! I got the Chihuahua dog and the Chicago dog combo (choice of assorted Lays chips and canned soda) for $10.04. Small little mom-pop coffee/breakfast/lunch shop. Went for breakfast and got a bagel sandwich and coffee. Bagel sandwich was out of this world fresh and tasty. Could tell it was homemade with cut up bits of ham in the egg. So good and would definitely go back again. read more
