I honestly wished I lived in Carmel solely for this coffee! I absolutely love their seasonal drinks when I'm down visiting my sister in the area. I haven't had a drink I haven't liked from here. I got their iced mocha, and I'm never disappointed with their coffee. What's nice is that I even bought their instant cold brew so I can have a little taste of Java House whenever I'm back up in NWI. read more

I wanted to love this so much more than I did. The aesthetics and ambiance are great. Friendly staff and clean, seems like a great place to study or hang. My iced latte unfortunately wasn't one I'd try again. I couldn't taste really any coffee and what I did wasn't good. The reason for 3 stars instead of 2 is because my aunt loved her Carmel mocha frappe! Don't know that I'll be back but you may love it! read more

I have walked by here so many time saying to myself "next time I want a coffee I'm going here" and I've finally made it! This place is conveniently located right off the monon trail near sun king and fork and ale. First off I really like their menu I would say it's pretty unique and not your average coffee menu. I tried the pumpkin cream cold brew and I think it's the best I've had this season. Their coffee is delicious! But the best part (obviously) is the foam! Oh my! You can tell they hand whipped this cold foam and it was so good. I could drank a cup full of just the foam. Next time my friends suggest a coffee date I will be taking them here! read more

I am frequent at Java as majority of my meeting happen there. I am not a coffee connoisseur, so my rating is all about atmosphere and service. Service is top notch - professional with a smile. Atmosphere is business casual, I am not the only one meeting there. Lots of business people, entrepreneurs, creatives. Plenty of space for drinking coffee by yourself or a group of 16 (there is a private room there, that can be reserved). Java House is located next to garage and you can enter it either from the street or garage. So plenty of parking. read more

This a quaint spot off the Monon at MidtownCarmel. Decor is earthy and the interior space is open and welcoming. Coffee choices are great. I usually get an Americano but theres lots of flavors to explore. The staff is friendly and efficient in service and preparation. They have some continental foods but this is primarily a coffee house and the coffee is very tasty. Give these folks a try. You wont be disappointed that you stopped here. read more

From the moment you walk in you are created by friendly staff and a very clean environment. They have a nice selection of different drinks and some breakfast sandwiches and bakery items which are really good. Recently taking a job in the area, Java House Coffee Bar is located on the first floor of the parking garage that I park in, so I had to check it out. Super friendly staff each time I've popped in for my morning Americano and muffin. Love the bar-feel and the draft-style handles they use to pour the coffee. I've gotten a couple of different types of muffins here too, and each time they've been great. They don't pull from the display case but instead have everything individually wrapped in the back. Super awesome place and I'm so excited to be working so close to Java House Coffee Bar. read more

Perfect hot spot for a coffee date in downtown Carmel. It's usually pretty busy but there is plenty of seating inside and some patio chairs if the weather is nice. The menu is interesting with how you build your drink. You pick your coffee roast type and then what kind (latte, etc) and then you can get it hot or cold. They do have flavor add in's as well. Since I'm lazy and didn't want to think about what to order I just picked one of their signature drinks. The Honey baby and workaholic are my faves. During certain times of the year they'll do seasonal drinks too. Java house has been expanding all around Indy and this is one of their best spots! read more

I first tried this place out at the Clay Terrace location and one thing I can say is that the friendliness of the staff carried over! Always welcomed with a smile and even had a newer barista take the time to get to know me yesterday before I left. Pros to this location: if you don't want to sit in their seating the Sun King/Fork and Ale courtyard is right across the street. (Parents if you catch it right on Monday afternoons there's usually a Disney movie playing) Cons: the inside is smaller than the Clay Terrace location. Recommendations: Tedster (Salted Carmel); Honey Baby (Honey & Cinnamon); In a Minute (Chocolate) - all are good iced and hot, but iced is the go to if you don't specify. read more

I want this comment to be more about constructive criticism than an angry post. I went to the Java House today (Sunday AM) and it was relatively busy, nothing too crazy. I ordered a medium iced coffee and from the time to order to receiving the drink, It took 22 minutes. The cafe was not understaffed either as i counted 6 people behind the counter. The employees making the drinks had next to zero urgency and were engaged in a conversation about their weekends, Many times stopping making drinks to continue the convo . I noticed other people waiting, that started to add up, and everyone was getting frustrated at the significant wait time for primarily simple drinks. Maybe these employees were new? I don't know. Either way, I feel there needs to a little more of a sense of timing here with training or a reminder about why people come to cafes in the first place (in / out). When I left, another customer noticed my body language and said to me outside "I'm never going back" after how slow that was. While I will be back as I love the coffee, I probably will wait a few weeks and hope things change a bit. I hope this comment is taking not as a bash but an opportunity to make some tweaks. Thx. read more

If you love Cold Brew, you'll love it here. I drink cold coffee all year long, regardless of whether it's snowing, raining, or even when it's freezing. You select your roast, brew method, and your drink style. I love Sumatran coffee and not a lot of coffee shops have it so when I come here, I usually get the Sumatran, Black or Americano, served Cold or Nitro. My apartment also sometimes has Java House come in a coffee truck from time to time. My friends from Chicago, who also almost aways only drink cold coffee, really loved it here and whenever they are in town, they always stop by. read more

Pro tip - coffee purists may want to skip this one or perhaps give it a go once. If you like fancy sugary beverages, iced coffee, or need a convenient place to work/meet in Midtown, this is your place. First impressions: cute coffee shop very conveniently located in Midtown. Fantastic working space that is closed off from the rest of the shop (nice and quiet!). Their coffees are all cold brewed (but are also served hot) and prices are higher than expected. After regularly visiting for over a month: this is a good stop for coffee but not my favorite. They have a lot of Instagram-y sugary drinks and their specials are fun. Staff is slightly inconsistent. Definitely a good place for casual meetings. Prices are definitely higher than average. I will continue stopping here for an occasional drink since their hours are great as is their location. My current drinks are - the Benny (a special for the summer) and an iced Sumatra with a touch of cream. read more

Always enjoy going to Java House. They have several locations and have wonderful coffee. Their roasts are very good for all you black coffee drinkers. Love love love Java House. I'm a huge iced coffee fan and theirs is the best of the best. I usually go with a vanilla cold brew and sometimes add cold foam for a little extra treat. Big light up letters that spell "cold brew" and other fun decor if you're someone who likes to snap the perfect Insta shot of their coffee like me. Highly recommend! read more

Love this location! Such a fun area to walk around on the Monon. Lots of places to sit inside too and read or catch up with friends. Love their cold brew! I always get their latte with sugar free chocolate and salted caramel. Always appreciate the uncommon flavors

My friends and I came into Java House excited to have some coffee and chat. Unfortunately, most of our drinks were not up to standards. The chai was very milky and watered down, my friend received a hot drink when he had ordered an iced, and the bread on the sandwich we ordered was very hard. They were also out of oat milk when they had advertised they had oat milk drinks. The staff were friendly, but we were not very pleased with the food and drinks. read more

While walking around Carmel, I discovered this coffee shop. I am happy that my route today took me here! There are several options for specialty drinks as well as more traditional options. Waited about 25 minutes for two hot coffees. Understanding that they might have been short on staff, however there was no hustling by the 5 or so employees behind the counter. (I literally watched one employee heat up an egg sandwich for about two minutes while she stared blankly at the oven cooking it! Might want to teach the employees multi-tasking.) The long wait aside, the order was not made correctly. (The "Brewster" did not have the toffee added and was missing the whipped cream as ordered.) For the price, it was very disappointing. read more

Awesome service and great coffee! They also rotate out seasonal flavors that are new and exciting! Highly recommend.

WOW! This is proper coffee craft, a dazzling yet home spun remodeled barn inside, feels like a family reunion without the drama! I loved this from the first step in, very friendly staff, smart and original brews with plenty to please everyone, lots of stuff to try. So much space! There's a group room for quieter (or noisier) studying which is good and well as it got very busy and sparkly with vocal conversations by time I headed out around 5. I wish there was one near me in Lafayette! I went for one of the specialty drinks but suddenly realized upon being asked by the great gal that it wasn't coffee but tea. Switched up, not a problem at all due to the easy going ways here, to a raspberry latte. Look at the photo! That cream, what is that stuff? Milk infused gold? Sitting on top like a thick luscious hat, the whole mix was a tad sweet for me but the cream helped balance it out. I'll definitely be back! Great to have free parking in the same building and another solid coffee spot in Carmel. read more

Midtown: It's convenient location and quality coffee are big wins for me. But because of the high ceilings it is loud when there's more than a few people inside and in colder months like today I was freezing. This could also be because their interior wall is the parking garage. The outdoor dining when it's warm is nice but you almost feel like you're in the way since it's basically the sidewalk. I've tried a variety of drinks and straight black coffee. I prefer the coffee to the mixed drinks. They are too sweet and don't have as much coffee flavor as I'd prefer. The cup and board for in house dining are cute, but my coffee got cold too quickly. I'll stick with a to go cup next time. read more
