My iced latte unfortunately wasn't one I'd try again. I couldn't taste really any coffee and what I did wasn't good. This place is conveniently located right off the monon trail near sun king and fork and ale. First off I really like their menu I would say it's pretty unique and not your average coffee menu. I tried the pumpkin cream cold brew and I think it's the best I've had this season. Their coffee is delicious! But the best part (obviously) is the foam! Oh my! I am frequent at Java as majority of my meeting happen there. I am not a coffee connoisseur, so my rating is all about atmosphere and service. Service is top notch - professional with a smile. Atmosphere is business casual, I am not the only one meeting there. Lots of business people, entrepreneurs, creatives. I usually get an Americano but theres lots of flavors to explore. The staff is friendly and efficient in service and preparation. Recently taking a job in the area, Java House Coffee Bar is located on the first floor of the parking garage that I park in, so I had to check it out. Super friendly staff each time I've popped in for my morning Americano and muffin. Love the bar-feel and the draft-style handles they use to pour the coffee. I've gotten a couple of different types of muffins here too, and each time they've been great. They don't pull from the display case but instead have everything individually wrapped in the back. Super awesome place and I'm so excited to be working so close to Java House Coffee Bar. read more

Perfect hot spot for a coffee date in downtown Carmel. It's usually pretty busy but there is plenty of seating inside and some patio chairs if the weather is nice. The menu is interesting with how you build your drink. You pick your coffee roast type and then what kind (latte, etc) and then you can get it hot or cold. They do have flavor add in's as well. Since I'm lazy and didn't want to think about what to order I just picked one of their signature drinks. The Honey baby and workaholic are my faves. Always welcomed with a smile and even had a newer barista take the time to get to know me yesterday before I left. My friends and I came into Java House excited to have some coffee and chat. Unfortunately, most of our drinks were not up to standards. The chai was very milky and watered down, my friend received a hot drink when he had ordered an iced, and the bread on the sandwich we ordered was very hard. I want this comment to be more about constructive criticism than an angry post. I went to the Java House today (Sunday AM) and it was relatively busy, nothing too crazy. I ordered a medium iced coffee and from the time to order to receiving the drink, It took 22 minutes. The cafe was not understaffed either as i counted 6 people behind the counter. The employees making the drinks had next to zero urgency and were engaged in a conversation about their weekends, Many times stopping making drinks to continue the convo . I noticed other people waiting, that started to add up, and everyone was getting frustrated at the significant wait time for primarily simple drinks. Maybe these employees were new? I don't know. Either way, I feel there needs to a little more of a sense of timing here with training or a reminder about why people come to cafes in the first place (in / out). When I left, another customer noticed my body language and said to me outside "I'm never going back" after how slow that was. While I will be back as I love the coffee, I probably will wait a few weeks and hope things change a bit. I hope this comment is taking not as a bash but an opportunity to make some tweaks. If you love Cold Brew, you'll love it here. I drink cold coffee all year long, regardless of whether it's snowing, raining, or even when it's freezing. You select your roast, brew method, and your drink style. I love Sumatran coffee and not a lot of coffee shops have it so when I come here, I usually get the Sumatran, Black or Americano, served Cold or Nitro. My apartment also sometimes has Java House come in a coffee truck from time to time. Fantastic working space that is closed off from the rest of the shop (nice and quiet!). Their coffees are all cold brewed (but are also served hot) and prices are higher than expected. After regularly visiting for over a month: this is a good stop for coffee but not my favorite. They have a lot of Instagram-y sugary drinks and their specials are fun. Staff is slightly inconsistent. Definitely a good place for casual meetings. Prices are definitely higher than average. I will continue stopping here for an occasional drink since their hours are great as is their location. My current drinks are - the Benny (a special for the summer) and an iced Sumatra with a touch of cream. read more

If you are looking for a cold brew, this is the place to go. However, if you're looking for a regular cup of coffee, an americano or a latte - look elsewhere. How can they offer an Americano or latte when they don't even have an espresso machine? Is what they're doing is warming up their cold brew and calling it an americano? Midtown: It's convenient location and quality coffee are big wins for me. But because of the high ceilings it is loud when there's more than a few people inside and in colder months like today I was freezing. This could also be because their interior wall is the parking garage. The outdoor dining when it's warm is nice but you almost feel like you're in the way since it's basically the sidewalk. I've tried a variety of drinks and straight black coffee. I prefer the coffee to the mixed drinks. They are too sweet and don't have as much coffee flavor as I'd prefer. The cup and board for in house dining are cute, but my coffee got cold too quickly. I'll stick with a to go cup next time. read more
