Always a 10/10 experience visiting Indie Coffee Roasters in Carmel, IN! The staff, environment and vibes are immaculate ~ one of my favorite spots especially for a fantastic work environment.

I've tried Indie Coffee Roasters a couple of times, but this was my first time at this location. It is located in the North End Apartment complex. Unfortunately, there is no sign out front, only a decal on the door so it could be easily missed from the street. Free parking in the back, if there is a spot available. There is a good variety of seating options (booth, high and low top tables, reading chairs), but this place gets rather crowded so could use more. There is also some outdoor seating on a wraparound patio. My biggest gripe is that the only sweetener option outside of syrups is sugar in the raw. And when put into a cold drink, sugar in the raw is nearly impossible to dissolve so it leads to granulated sugar bits in each sip. It would be nice if they offered standard sweetener options, or just any options at all, like most coffee shops.

This continues to be one of my favorite spots! In the last year, they've added an organic matcha to the menu and I love that they have multiple alternative milks (coconut, almond, and soy I think?!). The seating situation is perfect for co-working since the lobby shares space with a local bakery and is the first floor or an apartment building. My only ask if that they put a sign out with the seasonal beverages described. The names are always listed on the sign with no description and I'm sure that the employees repeat themselves all day. I don't like holding up the line asking what everything is. :)

This is a really nice comfortable place to have a cup of coffee and chat or do a little work. It is a coffee bar so you order there and they bring it to your table. I ordered a latte. Sadly they did not have sugar free vanilla syrup so I opted for a bit of honey instead. The coffee was tasty and hot which I appreciated it. The area is large and they also have a charming outdoor patio area. Right across from the coffee bar is a pastry shop and their croissants looked delicious although I did not order anything. Service was good and although there was a line to order, I did receive my latte quickly. Will definitely be returning/

Love the creativity of these summer drinks! Not too sweet but very refreshing! We tried the Gazebo & Berry Bliss

I was amazed with how I was served sparkling with espresso! That blew me over! If you are a true coffee aficionado you know that sparkling water cleanses your palate to give the absolute best flavors of your espresso - rich, bold, fruity flavor! Indie coffee roasters won me yet again with sparkling water! I had a great time working and getting into the coffee vibe!

So much room for sitting to either crank on work individually or meet with people. The coffee had a free refill and was delicious. I'll definitely be back.

Cute place, and bigger on the inside than expected. I got a matcha latte with oat milk and it was amazing. The service was good too.

The service was great and the coffee was delicious!! I really enjoyed the environment. The staff were very polite and helpful as well. I'll take more meetings there for sure.

Traditional European coffee, nice soft bitter bite after the flavor. The hazy pumpkin is very flavorful and the pumpkin is perfectly babalanced with the hazelnut. We sat in the coffee shop and enjoyed our coffee. They delivered it straight to your table with a smile. It's a nice, bright and quiet space where you can easily get lost in a book, or your work projects.

I had been to the location on Main Street and loved that so had to check out this new location. It's in the bottom of an apartment complex, so it was a little confusing to find. It was really spacious inside and shared the space with Le Petit Gateau, so pastries were readily available. The London fog was delicious. It's not something I would normally get, but I loved it. They had a great variety of seating, so it was perfect for relaxing with a book on the couch, studying in the study room, or sitting in the booths with friends. I went on a Thursday and it was a great place to get some work done! The staff was super friendly and helpful. They bring your drink to you at your seat which I really appreciated. There's free street parking outside and single person restrooms that were very clean and modern. I can't wait to sit on their patio once it warms up a bit!

I'm so happy that Le Petit Gateau and Indie Coffee Roasters are in the same space! I've always loved the simplicity of the Indie Coffee Roasters menu. I typically order coffee first and then get a croissant. You typically have to wait a little bit to get your coffee and I am never in a rush when a nice, delicious coffee is brought out to me. I often take my daughter there and we enjoy sitting on the couch looking at the fireplace. There's lot of space and a couple of booths if you're wanting to work/study. The coffee is always delicious and when I'm in for a treat, their sweeter options are worth the indulgence! Everyone is super friendly and I'm so glad it's close to home.

Okay, hats off to the person who came up with the idea of opening a coffee shop inside an apartment complex! I've always been a big fan of indie coffee roasters but the downtown Carmel location never had parking, and I always had to turn back around (their coffee was my biggest craving in pregnancy and I hated that I couldn't find parking walking distance) so this new location really blew my mind!! It's super clean, amazing staff, and so much seating!! When do you ever go inside a coffee shop and see families enjoying pastries and coffee? Never. I was in awe when I walked in and saw 2 families with kids enjoying their treats. I felt so much comfortable going in with a baby! Most coffee shops are small and aren't accommodating to kids! I ordered the woodsman which was perfect for the cold! It had a nice maple, Smokey flavor and wasn't overly sweet!

Just make sure to get there before your proposed meeting time because the line is often literally out the door. This was the case when I arrived thankfully I'm chronically early. It just so happened to be their birthday celebration when I visited, so Bovaconti was giving out free pastries that day. I chose a croissant which was fluffy, flakey and buttery as all croissants should be. I ordered the $5 SPANISH LATTE consisting of Espresso, Sweet Condensed Milk, Cinnamon & Steamed Milk. So good! My friend had the $6 MAYAN MOCHA made with Dark Chocolate, Honey, Cinnamon, & Cayenne. Also well received. The gorgeous building appears to be an old bank with the original vault converted into a smaller room with eclectic decor. I recommend going on a weekday.

Went to JustLoveCoffee on a cold weekend morning. They have a good Winter and Valentine's Day…read moredrink menu. I got a regular tall coffee, which was hot fresh and good. My wife tried one of their holiday specials, the white chocolate raspberry. It had a very good flavor. However, it was definitely not hot. In fact, it was barely above room temperature. A stretch to call it even warm. You can order the drink hot or cold and we ordered it hot. I've attached a picture after she had a few sips. She said she had to drink it quickly, before it got any colder, and couldn't wait for me to take my picture. We come here quite often. This is the first time we have been served a drink that was not to temperature. We did notice a lot of new faces for the wait staff. It was also much slower than normal to obtain our beverage. Both these factors may have caused the drink to not be up to par with regards to temperature. We will not let this experience taint us from returning. We will come back again and give them another try!

The raspberry pistachio croissant? Oh. My. God. This thing had me in a chokehold. Flaky, buttery layers with the perfect balance of tart raspberry and rich pistachio. It wasn't just good -- it was write-home-about-it good. The kind of pastry that makes you pause mid-bite and question every other croissant you've ever had. The second was a croissant sandwich (I wish I could remember the name!), but the way those flavors paired together? Let's just say it was a full culinary experience. Savory, balanced, indulgent -- you get the hint. Every bite just made sense. Now here's the part that really says something: I grew up on the East Coast where authentic French bakeries are everywhere and the cultural standard is high. I know a proper croissant. And this? This was better. Yes, I said it. We even had the chance to speak with the owner, who was incredibly warm and genuine. He checked in to make sure we enjoyed everything -- which we clearly did, considering we left with boxes to take home. This place isn't just a pastry shop. It's an experience. And trust me, it will be a topic of discussion in our house for days. Run. Don't walk.

Java House's successes are impressive. Their product(s) must resonate with a loyal audience because…read moreadditional retail locations continue to pop up all across central Indiana. I imagine having the support/backing from Heartland Foods helps... The environment at this particular location is okay. I've always been confused by the meeting room in the back, which has no heating and cooling. I'll blame that on whoever took the lead on the buildout. Now for the most important question: How is the coffee? I wouldn't call myself a coffee connoisseur but I'd like to consider myself a decent judge of good quality and flavor. My home coffee preparation process includes: grinding fresh beans to a grain specific for my preferred brewing method (usually Chemex or Aeropress), heating the water to a specific temp based on the bean's country/region of origin, patience, etc. Java House's coffee is not good... I'm fairly certain they use "coffee" powder that's dissolved into water (think Nestle instant coffee) then placed in pressurized kegs that are then either heated or cooled before being poured via a tap. This is not a place you go to experience good coffee. I believe Java House appeals more to certain coffee drinkers who enjoy adding flavors, sweeteners, milks/creams, etc. and not those interested in the art of growing, roasting, brewing, etc. If you're chasing quality coffee in the area, I suggest checking out either Indie Coffee Roasters, Illumine Coffee, or Eggshell (if you can figure out Eggshell's hours). If broken down, my rating would be: 2.5 stars for the successes and environment .5 star for the coffee For the Java House folks: If I'm totally off regarding my assumption of how you brew, please feel free to correct me!
