It was nice weather and I enjoyed the stroll. The tea I ordered was really nice! It was a simple black tea, and they took the time to steep it for the proper amount (~4 min) behind the counter. Loved that! I will say, a large hot tea cost a little over $6.50 with tax, which felt ... excessive. Definitely higher price point than my usual spots! But the moment I spotted the 32 oz coffee bucket...I was sold. I've been searching for a coffee shop that serves coffee buckets, so this instantly became a must-order. Not only was the bucket such a fun experience, but the coffee itself was perfectly balanced despite the larger size. Plus, I was thrilled to take the bucket home--I already know I'll be reusing it! A white woman came in after me, and Sophia, the barista making hot drinks, immediately greeted her with "Welcome in" and asked if the drink she had just finished was hers. The woman said no, and I had to speak up to say it was actually mine. Sophia then placed the drink down without saying anything and walked away. The lack of professionalism was disappointing, but what was more troubling was the clear difference in how we were treated. Whether it was conscious bias or something deeper, it felt dismissive and racially charged. Regular customers should never feel invisible, especially in a place that claims to value community and inclusion. Do better!

I ended up pitching the drink after a few sips, which was especially disappointing considering it cost $12. While walking around the farmers market, I noticed that most of the coffees from Rose & Lois had that same very light color, which made me wonder if I just caught an off day or if this is typical. My first time having Rose & Lois, it was definitely on the lighter side but I could still taste the flavors of espresso & syrups of my choosing. The coffee truck and shop are absolutely adorable, and I really wanted to love it, but unfortunately, today's latte totally missed the mark for me.
