On 1/19/2020 my friends and I went to Jasper's. At approximately 12:57am the waiter brought our bills out. I paid with my cash app card, my sister paid with her bank card and my other friend paid with cash. The server De'Naysi came to the table and asked us if we knew about tipping and if not she would educate us. Once we left my sisters card was charged for $114 which her bill was only $24.33. The manager stated that she charged the card for everyone's ticket but everyone had paid already and this change was done on 1/22/2020 a whole 2 days later. Jasper's is the go to spot to watch sports with friend, good drink or just to grab some food. If I get a drink, most likely its a fruity type of drink that will hit me a little later or when I stand up. LOL They fill the glass to the top! For food, I love their chicken tenders and boneless wing trio (dipped in three sauces: honey bbq, spicy buffalo and sweet tiger chile -mmmm!) appetizer. Brunch on Sunday is great as well. They have a buffet! All kind of food! All You Can Eat for $19. Not bad...Right? Well, I believe it was worth every penny. They had eggs, girts, three types of sausage, belgium waffles (made right at the buffet), french toast bites, bacon, chicken, omletes (made just the way you want), fajita bar, fruit bar, Chef Carved Oven Roasted Beef and Ham...list goes on and on! I remember the glory days of Jasper's, when both the food and service were good. Before it had more than one location, and even when the Crofton location was still open. But now, I've learned to expect lousy service and just-OK food. I would only recommend this for takeout for something better than fast food. And, never pick up your takeout from the bar. Jasper's is close to my office and its probably the best place to get above-average food at a good price with a decent atmosphere in Landover. And that's not saying much. The $7.99 lunch menu is a big hit, and provides enough variety that you can get something different every time. My favorites are the buffalo chicken salad (big portion for the price) and the crabcake combo. The food isn't spectacular, but when combined with the atmosphere, its definitely a clear step above the other local options like Bugaboo, Applebees, and Ruby Tuesday. I get the impression that Jasper's is a very different place at night though. I've been for happy hour a few times and the bar area can get very crowded. read more

My husband and I decided to stop in for lunch last weekend and were surprised to find it a Ghost Town (it's a huge establishment with 30+ tables) but there were only two other couples eating there. Hmm... Anyhow, our server was very nice and prompt (not that she had any other tables, lol) and we really liked the atmosphere. It was a little dim, but very chill and had nice, spacious booths. Husband ordered a burger and fries, I ordered the Jambalaya Pasta (it has shrimp, chicken and andoille sausage in a Cajun spicy sauce) with a Caesar salad. The best part of the meal was the salad (so crisp and a little tangy w/sun-dried tomatoes) and the french fries. The burger was just "ok" (not as good as Applebee's, Timothy Dean's, or Red Robin according to husband) and the pasta was a mess. It kind of tasted like chili (minus the beans) mixed with spaghetti sauce over top of linguini. I'm not sure how they managed to make it both bland and spicy at the same time, but somehow they did. I think a little salt and garlic would have helped it. Needless to say, I kept sprinkling more and more salt on it because I was hungry, then finally gave up and took more than half of it home. I opened up the container a few hours later and it had a very strong, fishy odor. I tasted a little bit and found the fishy taste was overpowering the noodles and other flavors, so i threw it away. I have given this Jaspers chance after chance and I can not do it anymore. I receive lackluster service every time I go. I only go because my husband loves it. I used to love Jaspers and was sad to see the Crofton and Greenbelt locations close. The food is ok, when prepared properly. Once I recieved cold crab dip and when asked to reheat, it seemed like a huge imposition. Last time we were "greeted" by the hostesses and then seated. We waited 15 minutes for our waiter. This would be expected if the place was crowded, but total, it was only about 10 tables with patrons. We got up and left. Jasper's could really use a new menu. Most of the options are fried and there's nothing that you really like there aside from the drinks.

We go for the bar service only. It can be slow but with all the activity and conversations you can get by. The complaint I have every time is the billing, billing, billing. Using your card is a high risk and I mean HIGH. You have to watch your account to be sure erroneous tips of $40-$80 don't magically appear. I use cash to avoid that aggravation. It's been going on for years, it's been in the newspaper but after our visit a few days ago and hearing from others in my party - the billing shenanigans continue. I stopped eating at Jaspers years ago but I ordered curbside for the family yesterday since I was in the area, it was 8pm, and out of Jaspers, Outback, and Ruby Tuesday, I felt like Jaspers had the better options since I've had practically everything on the menu. I was extremely happy with my meal and so was my sister and our kids. Every time I've come to come this Jaspers, the place is crowded and I've always felt like my food was overcooked and rushed. COVID-19 has restored my faith in Jaspers. With their only being curbside pickup, yhe food was cooked to perfection and my tiger wings were so bomb and whatever fries they are using, keep them. I'm sure the kitchen staff has now been able to cook these meals properly since they aren't constantly slammed with orders like they did when it was a full restaurant.This use to be my favorite restaurant starting in 2005 but once the Greenbelt and Crofton locations closed, I felt like Largo couldn't handle the demand and they quality went downhill. Jaspers, y'all about to get my money again if you keep producing excellent quality food. I definitely feel comfortable placing another order and you will see me soon. I do hope you guys consider opening another location and would love if you brought back the Buffalo chicken eggrolls. I still miss those, they were crack. As a new resident in the area I picked the Jasper's since I've never been there. My friend was already sitting down when I walked in talking to a server. Server mentioned how we are not in his section at how he will let our server know that we are here. We sat there after this good 20 minutes if not longer until our sever finally came over. She walked out of the back saying to another server how not one told her that she was seated. Not sure if she realized that we were able to hear her. Worst part about us waiting there was that two people, who appeared managers along with at least 10 staff members walked by us and did absolutely nothing to acknowledge the fact that we were sitting there with no drinks and two menus for 20 minutes. Our server went straight into her spiel upon her arrival which was very generic and diner like "you-all ready to order". We ordered our drinks and two Jambalaya for entrees. Drinks arrived fast and minutes later our food arrived as well. Was bit odd that our entrees arrived within 5min but ok. Both of our dishes were lukewarm at the best , tasted like something that was just reheated in microwave. After giving it a try with couple more bites my friend and I ask our server if we could order something else instead. She quickly removed those dishes away and we ordered two appetizers instead, chicken wings and calamari. We finished our drinks and 15 minutes after we placed our order, our food was still not there. What was really interesting to me is the fact that my entrees originally came out within minutes and our appetizers now are taking forever. I really like this place. The atmosphere is a widely diverse mix of young, middle aged and older... family, friends, birthdays, etc. You must try the Tiger Wings or Shrimp. They're amazingly good. I've gotten the 14oz Ribeye 3 times which is seasoned very nicely and cooked perfectly when I order it medium. My experience with the service has always been pleasant although the greeters leaves a lot to be desired. There's a HUGE bar in which you can delve deep into your libations or pick one of their specialty drinks with TV's everywhere to watch your sports. I called to confirm a table and was told "I dont know if we have availability you will just have to come here and see" and that the person on the phone is "in the back so they cant see the floor" to know if tables are available or not. This place is cool... I've been there for dinner and during happy hour. They have a nice size bar which every time I've gone has been packed. The drinks are decent and the food is tasty...The Salmon Caesar Salad is my favorite, every time I've ordered it the salmon has been juicy and it's a healthy portion, the greens are fresh and the other toppings (bacon, egg, etc were good too)...For the most part the bartenders I've encountered are friendly and professional...I give this place a 4 star instead of 5 because the last time my hubby and I went the wings during happy hour were very small and dried out. I'd definitely recommend this place as a nice spot to grab a bite to eat with your spouse or friends. I am so sorry to have to write this review. My husband and I are regulars here and LOVE the happy hour and brunch. We were both off today which is rare and decided to go for happy hour. We were seated in the bar area and had a waitresses named Jasmine. We asked her if happy hour had started yet. She said she would get us some water and check the time. She came back and confirmed that her computer showed it was 4pm and happy hour had begun. We placed our order of a few drinks and food from the happy hour menu. When we received the bill we noticed she rung our order up at 3:56pm and all of our items were full price. When we brung it to her attention she started, "oh my goodness, I'm so sorry let me get the manager to fix it". The manager Mike approached our table very rude and blunt. He stated he could not make any adjustments to our bill. He showed no compassion or concern of of our issue. His demeanor was very belittling as he looked at my husband and I with a death stare and said to us "so yea I can't do nothing for yall" and walked off. The waitress Jasmine came back apologizing and shared that she was new and wasn't aware that the time she gave us was wrong. I then went to the hostess desk and asked for the general manager who they said was Phillip Motley and he was no longer available. I ask for any other manager other than Mike who could help. Moments later Mike returned stating, "What is the problem!? Didn't I tell yall it was nothing I could do!?". At this time we are at the front desk with patrons trying to reserve a table. I politely asked Mike if we could stand over to the side to not bring attention or distrust other guests. I calmly explained to him again the situation and how the waitress openly admitted to being wrong. With the same death stare Mike expressed not being able to help us. He stated to have spoke to another manager by the name of Miguel who confirmed he could not accommodate us for the waitress misinformation. He also refused to contact Philip regarding our concers. He stated, "You have Phillip number call him if you want I don't care". Very frustrated at this point my husband and I agreed to leave and handle this with upper management. As we are walking away Mike states out loud to another staff person, "I don't know what the f*** thier problem is, I told them I wasn't going to f***ing help their a$$es!". My husband hears him and asked him to repeat himself. Mike firmly started, "You heard what the f*** I said!". My husband is so pissed at the level of disrespect at this point. He had not said anything and watched this man "Mike" disrespect me through this entire exchange. At this point we had to swallow our pride and leave before things escalated. I typically do not write reviews but this has to be reported. I am so sad my favorite happy hour and brunch spot is no longer a place I feel welcome spending my money. We travel from Waldorf to dine here but unfortunately will not be returning. I'm currently working with my credit card company to see how this can be reported as a fraudulent charge. I think the saying is 3rd times a charm wellllllll second time charmed me. My first experience here was so so, I think I just ordered the wrong thing to be honest. I got the fried platter and everything was ok but not absolutely delicious. I would've enjoyed if they added some old bay or something in the batter to give it a kick. But both were good but their French bread was warm, a little toasty on the outside but absolute soft on the inside and delightful. I would prefer they serve this over the complimentary rolls. My hubby ordered the tiger wings and they were crispy sweet and tangy! I loved them. I ordered the short smoked salmon with mashed potatoes and their Mac and cheese. (I know carb overload) the salmon was cooked perfectly and delicious although I would've preferred a hint more of seasoning..if there was any on there at all. But I guess that speaks volumes that it was still delish regardless. Mashed potatoes were good and a little of the juice from my salmon rolled underneath which made them even better lol. Now the Mac and cheese didn't look appealing at first. It gave me a kraft Mac n cheese vibe. But when I tasted it it was pretty good. It wasn't a baked Mac but more like a Mac with a cheese sauce and drizzled with extra cheese. They added I think cayenne pepper to it which gave it a bit of a kick which I appreciated. Last night close to 25 women, including myself, went to Jasper's in Largo, MD. We were celebrating the completion and success of our event. THE WAITING ROOM. How fitting... The restaurant definitely felt like a waiting room where we would never get the treatment we desired. We were there on Tuesday July 26, 2016 after 7:35pm. We ordered various menu items. The servers got a lot of the orders were wrong but we were like no biggie... And then someone in our group was given profusely molded bread. We were as gracious as possible until it was time to pay. The servers took our cash and we had to ask for change. We had to ask for receipts. A credit card was returned to the wrong person. When I told the female server he said "Did she get her card?" I explained to her that her response was unacceptable. We did not order alcohol. We were not belligerent or rude and it should have been obvious that we were women of God who just wanted to spend time together. I used to visit Jasper's frequently years ago but recently went there just purchasing some appetizers. I brought two crab dips because I remembered they used to be delicious. This time my visit was one to remember. My husband's crab dip had a long piece of plastic in there. Plastic from what, I'll never know. So, we called them to inform them. The 1st young lady wasn't surprised or disgusted. She said please give me your email address & I'll send you a gift card for the amount. No I'm sorry, that doesn't happen or how can we rectify this situation. SMH, just nasty. She was so very nonchalant. Too cavalier for me. With all this coronavirus stuff going on, they should be super vigilant. I never received any gift card from them & frankly at this point I don't want one. I went to jaspers today and literally waited 20 minutes for our waiter to come. When the waiter finally does come she has an attitude and was very loud. I asked for a glass of water 3 times before finally getting it and she only brought 1 when there were three of us. Later asked for the manager who came out looking confused and on something (only speculating). He claimed he would look into the situation and finally the watress came back to take out order after 45 minutes of waiting. I used to meet up with friends here once a week for happy hour. It's been about a year or two and the service has changed for the worse. When we arrived the restaurant was less than half full but we were still told there was a 15 to 20 minute wait. We asked why we couldn't be seated and were told they didn't have enough servers for any more tables. It was Sunday evening around 7... that's pretty standard for dinner. We ordered drinks at the bar to pass time and still ended up waiting about 30 minutes for a table. Our server came and greeted us about 5 minutes after we were seated and said he would be back shortly. We still had our drinks from the bar so this was fine. When he returned he asked if we were ready to order and we mentioned that we both wanted salads but also had a question about an appetizer that used to be on the regular menu. He said he wasn't sure and wanted to ask real quick but didn't return for another 30 mins. We saw him pass the table several times but he seemed to be in a hurry and never stopped back by. There were only 3 other tables in his section. When he returned he apologized and said he had a problem with a bill and had to get it fixed. At this point we still had not gotten out salads and he never asked about the appetizer. We asked him to please put in the salads as soon as possible. Another 30-40 minutes went by and he never returned. We ended up just leaving. My bf said something to the host as we were leaving and their explanation was that he was new. I'm pretty patient and understanding but this was unacceptable. Shout out to the bartenders for still making good strong drinks but other than that the service for dinner is subpar. This used to be a favorite place of mine and although I don't frequent here like I used to it was always a sure bet. Service wise this is not the case anymore. Local spot in PG County, I go here when I don't feel like driving to DC and wanna watch the game. I will say so much better since they got rid of the old manager. The staff and manager are much better than the previous few which makes the overall experience just a little better. But its Jasper's so you really can't expect the best of the best.
