The Setup: it's a pretty big space. There's a large bar with table seating in the middle of the restaurant with plenty of space to sit and watch the game with friends. The Food: ummmm I'll pass on the food if I ever return to this place. I had the salmon salad for $16 and it just wasn't worth the money. It was a very small piece of salmon, maybe 2 oz, on a bed of romain and iceberg lettuce. Typically, salmon salads are on a bed of mixed greens with supporting vegetables, but this was just fish and lettuce with feta cheese. My friend got a Turkey burger that didn't look very appetizing. The Drinks: another Yelper noted the drinks are watered down and mostly ice. Yea, that's about right! I ordered a LIT with light ice and there was a noticable difference between my drink and my friend's drink. The Service: our server was decent. Last night my wife and I decided to eat at Jaspers. We typically usually sit at the bar but it was packed. We ended up sitting ourself at the high tables. When I say we had the best service ever from Katie 10/10. My wife instantly could tell she's been doing this job for years just by the way she greeted us. The food and drinks were definitely good but we will be coming back more so for the great service. Initially I had thoughts that this place was going to be decent... like the restaurants nearby Jasper's - Ruby Tuesdays or Outback- but turns out it might be one of the best in Landover. Pricey but worth the trip. Asian Salmon Teriyaki, Chicken Teriyaki, Chicken Fajitas, Mediterranean Pasta are all the dishes we've have tried here. Their honey wheat bread rolls are so good and to top that off, their homemade butter is TO DIE FOR! But save your tummy for your entree. Portions are big! Staff is pleasant and accommodating. Curb Side To Go is always a nice feature. Two negative things - dark parking lots with police patrolling most of the time and when ordering curb side to go, there is always quite a wait on the phone until someone takes your order. read more

I've been here mostly for their buffet brunch and once for dinner. I prefer the brunch here as they have a huge variety at their buffet.. It's a good mixture between really good breakfast items (waffles, eggs, bacon) and good soul food choices (fish, chicken, greens).. The dinner menu is mostly soul food, which is fine by me, and everything that was delivered to our table (except the Mac and cheese) was delicious! The only reason I'm deducting any stars at all is because the service at brunch leaves a bit to be desired.. The wait staff is usually non existent since everything is self serve but trying to get a refill on your drink takes forever!! First time visiting while in town & it was Saturday, albeit early for dinner Saturday & we were told there was an hour wait. The lobby waiting area was packed with patrons waiting to be seated. Some had been waiting for over two hours (they had a very large party but still!! ) we stuck out our wait. Got a text immediately saying our wait would be 30-45 mins. Felt pretty good about that. The whole time we waited there were 4 employees standing around the hostess station seemingly not really knowing what they were supposed to do. Just standing there joking around, eating snacks, one even collecting an application from a girl & stood there pointing out things on it with his coworkers & laughing, having a great time. Head guys were busy left & right attempting to explain to folks why they were waiting so long. A server comes from the dining area somewhere & says they are short staffed (not for hostesses apparently). Managers never said that. After an hour & a half we finally get seated. Know exactly what we want since we had forever to pour over the menu, ordered a couple dishes that seemed easy enough & would hopefully be quick because HUNGRY! Salads, a lobster bisque & spicy Cajun jambalaya. Salads came out after awhile. Then a few minutes later the bisque. My slow eating wife was almost finished with her food when she asked the waitress if my jambalaya was coming soon. A little bit later she stops by the table saying it should be out soon. I stopped by for happy hour with a friend the other night and tried their margaritas and calamari. The place was packed and several different games were shown in the big screen. Happy hour specials are honored all night long on Mondays but not at tables which was weird to me. Luckily, our original server made us aware of this before we sat down and encouraged us to move to the bar section. The margaritas were tasty, and the bartender was heavy-handed which I appreciated. The calamari was a little bland and too greasy for my liking. I will be back but will definitely not order the calamari again. It was pretty tasty. Went today for Sunday Brunch and I enjoyed it. Had Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Lol The sweet tea was good and the Orange Juice. Loved the waffles as well with the fruit. This place needs a rescue. One hostess said I could be I seated immediately and the other hosted said 20 minute wait. I watched as I was waiting for my husband to park the car that everyone that came in after me she would say its a 20 minute wait. When we walked through the restaurant to be seated it was many empty tables. I had the fried seafood platter. The food was over cooked. Plastic cup was cracked and water spilled all over the table, the coffee was luke warm, and the service was mediocre. Its very loud and not the place you want to go to if you want to have conversations while eating. The food pictures on line are false advertisements. Ummmmm. Definitely mixed reviews. I came here about a year ago for a birthday brunch. It was a buffet and the food was really good, as wel as the mimosas. I came back a couple weeks ago, and it wasn't as good as i remember. Not to say it wasnt good at all, i just know I've had better. Nothing on the menu really jumped out at me, so i got the basic fish and chips. Again, not terrible, but not the best. The drinks were strong! If you're looking for a quick buzz, this place is for you. If you're looking to sip slow and enjoy, maybe not so much. I wouldn't count this place out totally. I wasn't impressed. I was looking for a new brunch spot to try on Sunday and since I heard about this place so many times before, I decided to give it a try. When we arrived, instead of being welcomed with a smile and warm greeting, we were welcomed with blank stares and a clip board stating a 2 hour eating/sitting limit during brunch. We approached the hostess stand they still stared at us. My friend decided to "break the ice" and requested a table for 2. We were told the wait was 35 minutes- not bad. While we were waiting a few kids ran across the platform behind the hostess stand and instead of quietly talking to the children one of the workers said "hey, y'all can't run back there" and "whispered" to her fellow co-workers loudly "People need to come get their kids" -WOW When our name was called, we were shown to our table and the seat was still wet. I asked the hostess if she would be able to dry the seat and she simply looked at me and walked away. I asked my friend "Was that not our hostess" I was genuinely confused. A few seconds later a lady came over to dry the seat. As I looked around, I realized it was a brunch buffet. I was expecting a more formal style brunch but that was okay. There was one menu on the table- it was 2 of us. So we shared the menu. The men at the omelette station were nice and fast as well. I tried the french toast however, the inside was not cooked. I figured the 1st two I selected were just an unlucky pair so I tried again. No such luck! The second go round was the same way. While I was there, they never brought more fried chicken out it was the same 5 dried chicken thighs- a lot of people bypassed them. The sweet potatoes were NOT good.The shell macaroni and cheese had NO flavor and it taste like they ran out of cheese and the turkey sausage were salty. I will not be back. My best friend introduced me to this spot and I've been back about 7-8 times and each time is super chill and I love their happy hour! I usually get the DC tap water, crab and shrimp dip, combo of old bay and sweet chili thai wings (?) and some other stuff here and there but the first two are definitely my favorites! The atmosphere and crowd are super chill, wait staff pretty friendly and the music is something you can groove to. I recently discovered they have lunch specials too. Their slogan is "in the spirit of fun" Went back Dec 27 2015 with a party of 8 and had a good experience. Personally I ordered the kiwi lemonade - bright green, much like sugar water, and the cowboy sliders medium well, which were cooked correctly, and a dinner salad with my entree. For such a large party our order was correct and the bill was $166.13 as it was a family reunion dinner none of us ordered alcohol and no one was sick thankfully. Again my personal Yelp consultant (i.e. Yelp app) lead me here. I thought the building was closed or had moved when I arrived because it looks a little "empty" for lack of a better word. However when we stepped inside we were transported to a place somewhere between the 1940s and the present. The layout is very reminiscent of an old jazz club with the bar taking the center stage. Large televisions to watch while you eat and a happy hour (that our waiter unfortunately failed to tell us about) and a very (maybe too large??) menu. I ordered chicken tenders and my friend ordered a spicy chicken sandwich and was very happy with his flavors. Nothing surprising about my dish but I just wanted something quick. As with many restaurants substituting for a salad instead of fries is an upcharge (why is being healthy so expensive?!) so I opted out. But I did try a side of the collard greens and it reminded me of something my Mom would make. Perfect balance of salty and bitter with chunks of smoked pork in it. Mmmm. All in all I'm glad I didn't judge Jaspers by it's cover (or lack of one!) and took a chance to go in. Don't be afraid of the culinary unknown Yelpers, you might just be surprised. read more

I have been to this establishment several times. It is one of the many PG county local hang out places that has many returning HH customers. I ate both at the bar area and the dinning however, make sure you stick by the bar area. The service is quick bc you are right inform of them lol and the drinks are made well. They have extensive menu and also have nice brunch on Sundays. They have around the clock happy hour by the bar area. The place is alway crowded regardless of weather or other events be patient to circle around few times before you find seating near the bar. The food is a hit or miss. I guess it depends on the chef. Regardless it has been the local hang out for years and you can't beat their HH drinks. read more

The service was great inside and outside because there was a security lady outside that was so wonderful. She let everyone going in and coming out about this 92 year old lady.
