I've been here a few times with my cousin and his friend from college when he comes to visit from out of town. I really like the atmosphere at jaspers it's very lively, welcoming and friendly every time that I visit. We went last night and had a wonderful server Alexandria. She was very attentive and checked on us a good amount of times. I had the jaspers shrimp and the coco-mango drink and my cousin and I shared the apple pie dessert. Everything tasted really good. I've heard so much about the drinks here but my drink was not strong at all it tasted like juice so I was a bit disappointed because we were there for celebratory reasons. Its been years since I have been to Jaspers. It wasn't bad at all. I will return to try out the stuffed shrimps. Everyone in our party was happy with both the food and drinks. My salmon was a little over cooked but was edible. I'm a healthy eater that don't eat too many sauces and seasonings. I always ask for them to be put on the side. For my tastebuds the salmon and crab explosion was flavorful without sauces/seasonings. The sweet potatoes fries was very soft but ok. A good place for meet ups, catching up or hanging out. This was really very good, and a good value. The hostesses need some real further training. They're pretty horrible. That's the only reason I went to 4 instead of 5 stars. She literally made eye contact with us, and continued her conversation with her friend or coworker. Very awkward and rude. For the food: it was fantastic! My boyfriend really wanted the spinach artichoke dip, he loves it. So that's what we started with. A+. For his entree, he got the sirloin steak with mac n cheese and mashed potatoes. I promise you, their mac n cheese is soooo good. His steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. I got the grilled salmon salad. I forgot there was a good reason I hadn't been to Jaspers in probably 10 years. It's always the same issue for me which is why I stopped supporting: lack of decent, quality & informed staffing. For me, the food can be mediocre and the decor can be shabby. But good service will always put a business over the top. Came here last Friday for HH to meet a friend for drinks. Let's start with the fact that the greeting I recieved upon walking in was dry and unenthusiastic. Everyone standing at the front looked so miserable. Geez people, cheer up! Next infraction: the young man who took me to my table was dry and unenthusiastic as well (do you sense a pattern here?). No smile, no "how are you this evening?" He pretty much just threw the menus down and walked off before I could even say thank you. Nice job! Ok so the server wasn't too bad. She actually attempted to make small talk and was fairly attentive. But her infractions were not knowing what beer they had on tap and bringing me not one, but TWO martinis with a regular sized straw sticking out of them. Where they do that at? Next infraction: Just plain negligence. A table nearby spilled a glass of water on the floor that was heavily trafficked (I saw at least 10 people step in it). The table notified a server who was walking by and I assumed he went to get a mop. Never saw him again. I guess the water eventually evaporated. Jasper's better be glad that lawsuit waiting to happen, didn't. At some point you'd think a business would recognize their chronic problems but I guess not. And this is why I stopped coming. I don't plan to go flocking back any time soon but my friend actually enjoyed the appetizers (calamari & boneless wings trio) and the drinks were good (something fruity with rum in it). Plus the HH prices were decent. So I may have to eat my words and suffer through another visit but next time I'll be sure to check my expectations at the door. " it had no dill pickles. So essentially it was only mayo because there are only real 4 ingredients, add lemon, sugar and onion if that's what your into. It was Mayo. Bad food from Black Owners. That's the thing I got up to verify. I went to ask the Bartender. But I ended up asking the table next to me. & why did I do that? Let's hear it from the GANG! All five tables had something to say. We said, the drink was good. One man's face was so tore up. U know how you look around just to see is it jus me. I pointed at my food and looked. The four of us agreed. There were two smiles, they had salad with blackened salmon. That where I my mistake I chose grilled. The mistake we didn't make was ABSOLUTELY DO NOT ORDER the MAC & cheese. Enough time for her to come by and ask how the food was, which was then I told her to cancel the app. I found out it was her first day, so cut her slack and still gave 20% tip. Shrimp and Chicken Cajun Pasta. Man if it wasn't for the ambiance and the wings, they'd get zero stars. They gave me penne, blackened chicken, frozen frost bite tasting shrimp and heavy whipping cream doused with pepper. NO FLAVOR whatsoever! I think the drinks are really good. I enjoy the appetizers - shrimp and crab dip and a flavored wing that I can't remember the name. Because of the items I like, I only prefer happy hour. However, the down side to happy hour is, if you sit in the bar, but away from the physical bar, it can take awhile to receive service initially. I have been coming here for years and never experienced what I have today. My friend ordered the Chino Latino Eggrolls and some Crab egg rolls were brought to our table. He ate one thinking it was what we ordered. He realized it wasn't and pushed them to the side. The bill came out and they charged us for the crab eggrolls. It was there mistake. The manager watched on the camera to see if we ate them all. When she came to our table she tried to justify charging us by saying he ate one. He thought it was the egg rolls we ordered. My husband and I visited during lunch and were initally impressed by how open it is, but that quickly changed. Our waiter was so.....dry and monotone, it was weird. I ordered the salmon and crab explosion and it was anything but. The name is super deceiving! It's just a piece of salmon and a crab cake with veggies. Soooo disappointing. The salmon was as bland as our waiter's personality LOL. Nothing was seasoned. The "crab cake" was the consistency of an undercooked biscuit. My husband ordered the jambalaya, which too wasnt seasoned and had a layer or oil on top of the sauce, so it probably was sitting out for a while. I had so many people recommend this place but it was a huge let down. Maybe my taste buds are too advanced for this place lol but I won't be back & won't recommend it to anyone. I usually come to Jasper's for their brunch on Sunday after church. Always nice ambience but the past few times I have noticed that the Brunch except for the waffles and omelettes have really gone down hill. The fried chicken is fried too hard. The pasta was too oily, there was more oil than flavor. The fajita bar, whatever that cheese sauce was it was just nasty. Those were just a few things that were not good. I feel that over the years the quality has gone down but quantity is always good. If they would just fix that it would be so much better. However, my recommendation or returning will not be anytime soon. read more

So today I hosted my sorority sisters 34th birthday party at Jasper's. I originally was only gonna give one star however things progressively got better, thanks to Aisha, Tayo and Mike ( the night manager). Originally I had spoken to Miguel and he was very matter of Fact, rude and just wasn't trying to work with me or my group. Every question I asked was answered with, the night is sold out, there are 4 other parties tonight (25 or more ppl) and we can not accommodate you. After a little more discussion, I asked if I came in 2 hrs before my party time, would I be able to get the tables by the bar if they were open. He said yes but was still very negative about those tables being available. Fast forward.... Got to Jasper's @ 3:45 pm. Was able to hold 3 tables that held 6 ppl each (18). Tayo and Aisha were amazing. My group was very needy and had them all over the place. They did not fret or stumble. They were extremely attentive and went over and beyond the call of duty. I even contacted Mike to tell him about it. I also had to call Mike over due to another matter with a rather nasty waitress however he took care of the issue quickly and efficiently. No one In my party even knew what was happening. I definitely recommend anyone to go to Jasper's and ask for either Tayo or Aisha, their phenomenal and if you want an attentive manager that doesn't make excuses or will take care of your problem, Mike is your man!!!! Our group home came yesterday for our clients birthday. It was rocky getting us seated all together but after we all sat together. Our waitress Katie was excellent. Her patience's with dealing with some of our special needs clients was amazing. She made jokes and in the car ride back home all of them kept saying her jokes.
