I've been here a few times with my cousin and his friend from college when he comes to visit from out of town. I really like the atmosphere at jaspers it's very lively, welcoming and friendly every time that I visit. We went last night and had a wonderful server Alexandria. She was very attentive and checked on us a good amount of times. I had the jaspers shrimp and the coco-mango drink and my cousin and I shared the apple pie dessert. Everything tasted really good. I've heard so much about the drinks here but my drink was not strong at all it tasted like juice so I was a bit disappointed because we were there for celebratory reasons. Other than that the service was fine. We did have to wait because it was packed which seemed unusual for a Tuesday night but the wait wasn't too long. read more

Its been years since I have been to Jaspers. It wasn't bad at all. I will return to try out the stuffed shrimps. Everyone in our party was happy with both the food and drinks. My salmon was a little over cooked but was edible. I'm a healthy eater that don't eat too many sauces and seasonings. I always ask for them to be put on the side. For my tastebuds the salmon and crab explosion was flavorful without sauces/seasonings. The sweet potatoes fries was very soft but ok. A good place for meet ups, catching up or hanging out. This was really very good, and a good value. The hostesses need some real further training. They're pretty horrible. That's the only reason I went to 4 instead of 5 stars. She literally made eye contact with us, and continued her conversation with her friend or coworker. Very awkward and rude. For the food: it was fantastic! My boyfriend really wanted the spinach artichoke dip, he loves it. So that's what we started with. A+. For his entree, he got the sirloin steak with mac n cheese and mashed potatoes. I promise you, their mac n cheese is soooo good. His steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. I got the grilled salmon salad. I decided to drop by Jaspers with my son and grab a bite since they always have many options to choose from. We ordered the Tiger Shrimp which was delicious as always! Entrees we had the Blackened Salmon and the the Great American Grill that consisted of Sirloin steak, crab cake, and shrimp over peppers, onions, and veggies. I will say the Great American grill was just ok .... The crab cake was mushy. The steak was cooked the way I like it and the rest of the meal shrimp and veggies were ok! I wouldn't order that again as an entree. The Blackened Salmon was delicious!! The service was phenomenal as always to the host Stephen!! The blue cheese is lazy, yes lazy, it's a non blue cheese sauce with blue cheese crumbles. It's good but it's not blue cheese. The crab dip was subpar, not horrible but not memorable. Shrimp and Chicken Cajun Pasta. Man if it wasn't for the ambiance and the wings, they'd get zero stars. They gave me penne, blackened chicken, frozen frost bite tasting shrimp and heavy whipping cream doused with pepper. NO FLAVOR whatsoever! I forgot there was a good reason I hadn't been to Jaspers in probably 10 years. It's always the same issue for me which is why I stopped supporting: lack of decent, quality & informed staffing. For me, the food can be mediocre and the decor can be shabby. But good service will always put a business over the top. Came here last Friday for HH to meet a friend for drinks. Let's start with the fact that the greeting I recieved upon walking in was dry and unenthusiastic. Everyone standing at the front looked so miserable. Geez people, cheer up! Next infraction: the young man who took me to my table was dry and unenthusiastic as well (do you sense a pattern here?). No smile, no "how are you this evening?" He pretty much just threw the menus down and walked off before I could even say thank you. Nice job! Ok so the server wasn't too bad. She actually attempted to make small talk and was fairly attentive. But her infractions were not knowing what beer they had on tap and bringing me not one, but TWO martinis with a regular sized straw sticking out of them. Where they do that at? Next infraction: Just plain negligence. A table nearby spilled a glass of water on the floor that was heavily trafficked (I saw at least 10 people step in it). The table notified a server who was walking by and I assumed he went to get a mop. Never saw him again. I guess the water eventually evaporated. Jasper's better be glad that lawsuit waiting to happen, didn't. At some point you'd think a business would recognize their chronic problems but I guess not. And this is why I stopped coming. I don't plan to go flocking back any time soon but my friend actually enjoyed the appetizers (calamari & boneless wings trio) and the drinks were good (something fruity with rum in it). Plus the HH prices were decent. So I may have to eat my words and suffer through another visit but next time I'll be sure to check my expectations at the door. I think the drinks are really good. I enjoy the appetizers - shrimp and crab dip and a flavored wing that I can't remember the name. Because of the items I like, I only prefer happy hour. However, the down side to happy hour is, if you sit in the bar, but away from the physical bar, it can take awhile to receive service initially. My husband and I visited during lunch and were initally impressed by how open it is, but that quickly changed. Our waiter was so.....dry and monotone, it was weird. I ordered the salmon and crab explosion and it was anything but. The name is super deceiving! It's just a piece of salmon and a crab cake with veggies. Soooo disappointing. The salmon was as bland as our waiter's personality LOL. Nothing was seasoned. The "crab cake" was the consistency of an undercooked biscuit. My husband ordered the jambalaya, which too wasnt seasoned and had a layer or oil on top of the sauce, so it probably was sitting out for a while. I had so many people recommend this place but it was a huge let down. Maybe my taste buds are too advanced for this place lol but I won't be back & won't recommend it to anyone. Went to Jasper's with a girlfriend I haven't seen since COVID. It was great to see the precautions being taken for those eating inside. The wait was about half hour to adhere to capacity guidelines. I have been coming here for years and never experienced what I have today. My friend ordered the Chino Latino Eggrolls and some Crab egg rolls were brought to our table. He ate one thinking it was what we ordered. He realized it wasn't and pushed them to the side. The bill came out and they charged us for the crab eggrolls. It was there mistake. The manager watched on the camera to see if we ate them all. When she came to our table she tried to justify charging us by saying he ate one. He thought it was the egg rolls we ordered. Initially I had thoughts that this place was going to be decent... like the restaurants nearby Jasper's - Ruby Tuesdays or Outback- but turns out it might be one of the best in Landover. Pricey but worth the trip. Asian Salmon Teriyaki, Chicken Teriyaki, Chicken Fajitas, Mediterranean Pasta are all the dishes we've have tried here. Their honey wheat bread rolls are so good and to top that off, their homemade butter is TO DIE FOR! But save your tummy for your entree. Portions are big! Staff is pleasant and accommodating. Curb Side To Go is always a nice feature. Two negative things - dark parking lots with police patrolling most of the time and when ordering curb side to go, there is always quite a wait on the phone until someone takes your order. read more

I've been here mostly for their buffet brunch and once for dinner. I prefer the brunch here as they have a huge variety at their buffet.. It's a good mixture between really good breakfast items (waffles, eggs, bacon) and good soul food choices (fish, chicken, greens).. The dinner menu is mostly soul food, which is fine by me, and everything that was delivered to our table (except the Mac and cheese) was delicious! The only reason I'm deducting any stars at all is because the service at brunch leaves a bit to be desired.. The wait staff is usually non existent since everything is self serve but trying to get a refill on your drink takes forever!!
