I have been to quite a few Jasons Deli's in since 2012 with the first one being in Oklahoma City. I would order food on my lunch break three or four times a week and I distinctly remember the food always being too hot to eat, always tasted fresh and always prompt. When I ate at this location, I was disappointed that my taste of the food was not the same. I ordered a baked potato which was burnt all around and old looking as if it had been sitting on a hot plate since the day before , the chicken strips were cold and tasted of freezer burn, and the penne and meatballs was cold with medium sauce and no seasoning. The Big Chef's Salad is LOADED with ham & turkey; on a bed of mixed salad greens, olives, tomatoes, boiled eggs, and packed with vital green nutrients! More importantly, it is sufficiently baried that I did not miss the salad bar trip! My wife's Sante Fe Club was full of flavor and just to her liking! I used Jason's for my wedding reception. I was thrilled to have such an easy option, because I have used them for other events. I was NOT Bridezilla, but what we got was truly aweful! I wonder if they actually read the surveys that they nag you to fill out. We bought the 2 platters of roast beef sliders and the turkey and Ham sliders. The roast beef sliders tasted like the meat was old.the staff forgot the Au jus, but Luckily I checked over the order as we loaded the car. Many people took one bite and threw them away. the We had an entire platter left. The fruit and cheese platter had strawberries with bad places in them, the fruit dip was not labeled so it was put with the veggies trays. Ordered dinner here tonight and my daughter got the chicken tenders. I broke one apart and it was gray in color and looked over cooked...I'm not entirely sure what was going on here but it didn't look edible at all. The service here is absolutely shocking. Walking in we were not greeted. I stood in line for 4 minutes with an open computer and people standing around watching not wanting to take an order. After my order was taken I wasn't given any instructions and had to find the place to get my salad bar plate. After walking over to retrieve my plate the woman working the end of the line was extremely rude. We asked where our fountain drinks were and she stared at us and didn't respond. After asking her if she could get us them she said "the front of the line should have them". I would have expected her to apologize and walk to the front and grab us our drinks. We then proceeded to get our salad bar and the lady told us "hold" so she could put the tongs in the salad bar. Kind of shocked people can be so rude! We have been coming to this location weekly since it opened. The food is typically good. However today was a different story. There were 9 visible employees and 4 tables with guests. The dining area & food prep was trashed. Dirty tables, food and trash all over the floor. I've been in cleaner gas stations. Dirty plastic gloves on the floor. Boxes and trash in every direction . The salad bar was missing items. The icee cream Machine was out of order. My husbands pre made salad was delivered with at least 1.5 cups of cheeses in it.. making it mostly inedible. The table next to us waited 20 minutes for their food and it was delivered wrong. They sent it all back. The manager, (Peni or Beni) came out to ask my why i was taking pictures. I told her i was taking them to share with the health department, online and the managing partners. She told me they had been busy for hours. To which I pointed to the 7 associates behind the counter. And the fact that she herself wasn't helping to clean. I pointed out the dirty plastic-gloves and trash. Her reply was yes ma'am I'm sorry you feel that way. WTH?? My eyes work and there were no feelings about it. It was filthy and she was blind to it. I suggested that the cleanliness was a reflection to her management style. I cannot even imagine what the behind the screens look like. was super disappointing. It has been a while since we visited a Jason's Deli and thought we would try the one in Rockwall. It wasn't crowded yet the woman behind the cash register was very impatient with the 5 of us. My husband is partially deaf, he asked her to reread the order to me. She huffed then in a snarky tone asked if I was ready to hear her. Then she seemed inconvenience when we had to correct a few things. One trip salad bar and no kid size salad. There is no ice cream machines or they weren't working so it was a disappointing trip for my son. He doesn't like things to touch so he had to use my mini plate, his mini plate and an extra mini plate. Pickles, trail mix and muffins all had their own plate. There was no desert pudding stuff- that had not been replaced and wouldn't be the entire 40 minutes we were there. The chairs had food on them so I switched chairs from another table, those chairs had food on them as well. The dining room needed to be swept. It was generally messy. There were a couple of employees who who were trying to finish their lunch as they walked behind the counter. One of them popped the last of her sandwich in her mouth then brushed the crumbs off her gloves where everyone was else was making the sandwiches. Instead of changing gloves, she just jumped in making someone's sandwich. The salad bar had a young woman who was trading out the dishes of low veggies and condiments. She was not wiping down the bar area or taking care of the contaminated food, most of it was cross contaminated. The eggs had 1000 dressing (?) and beets on them, the olives had cheese and the cheese had a noodle in it. It was messy. Drive the extra few miles and go to Rowlett. The Rockwall Jason's Deli doesn't have a manager who can bring this up to the standards most people are expecting with this chain. read more

I came in for an early lunch with my two children. There were four people filling orders but no one working any of the registers. After waiting more than five minutes, I asked one of the people filling orders if anyone was working the counter. He looked annoyed and walked outside to get a girl who was washing windows. I am giving this a 4 star review for a couple of reasons. This may be lengthy but bear with me as I explain. My wife had placed an online order for me to stop in rockwall and pickup...pretty simple the order is texted to us complete and to call when you get there and park. I arrive on time as when it should be ready , place the call and was told yes the order is ready, I politely ask do I need to come in even though it's curbside. Answered by the person on the phone no problem we will bring it right out. Cool right ...seamless so far ...then it begins 12-13 minutes no order ...meh ,they are probably busy so I call back , my answer sorry sir we are just really busy but we will bring it right out to you ...again sure no problem. 40 minutes and no food hmmmm problem time to enter the store. I walk in and the place looks like complete chaos meal tickets not organized everyone and I mean everyone of their employees running around trying to see who doesn't have what and no answer in sight. The young lady who helped me seemed very overwhelmed and was doing her best to try and help diffuse the situation with as many customers she could. The manager on duty steps up asking about my order of which he cannot find under my name stating it probably was not submitted, Nope NOT likely since I had a confirmation on my phone.I told him hang on let me grab my phone. Come back in of course he can't find the order says that he would pay for the order . That doesn't really matter to me I just want to understand why I'm told my food is ready and nothing is to be found no order or food. Frustrated as he walks away obviously trying to get everyone else's order ready. I tell the young lady , who was in all honesty trying to help to just cancel it and credit my money back. Frustrated I head to my car call the wife and explain what happened. While that's happening the young girl comes outside trying to make amends I ask if the manager of the place is there and she says she is on the way. Even though I'm frustrated I decide to head back in and give them a chance. I ask who is the manager the man with no answers tells me he is ,NOPE not good enough please let me know who your boss is. Finally Brandi comes out to help asks me to give them a chance and wait to make our meal is fresh and she would comp the meal. Why not I've been here this long so I'll wait. Just in time the meal is delivered to me with some cookies and a gift card Of which we were grateful for. I did my best to explain what happened and really wanted to thank the the young lady before Brandi who did try to help. I thanked her and wished her luck and hoped her night would get better! I headed home the meal was absolutely delicious and filling even though a long wait it did satisfy! Moral of the story : I've always been about second chances and this second chance did not disappoint. In the COVID world we live in now it's easy to get frustrated but we as the public need to see beyond that. Restaurants have been hit hard and people are frustrated and working short handed. I really feel sorry for the manager on duty , it just seemed he was overwhelmed and just did not know what to do with so many upset customers.... maybe with the right training and a bit of patience he can do better next time. To the young lady who helped me , you have the makings of a true customer service professional and you need to be on the fast track to management... and to the owner Brandi thank you and your crew for just trying again because with your help they did succeed. I usually go to the Mesquite Jason Deli and decided to come to this location since i live off of 30. I placed my order for sandwich and salad bar the salad bar was well maintained the ranch dressing was almost empty, hummus looked like it had been sitting since this morning, muffins and bread needed to be refilled along with the salad being low. After making our salad to go we waited another 15 minutes on them to prepare our food. Their are too many people working their for the service to be poor. Jason's Deli is usually one of my favorite chains but I was disappointed with this location. The food just wasn't up to the usual standards--I've been to tons of Jason's Delis over the past few years and this is pretty much the first time I felt like the quality didn't match the price (and I got one of my tried and true favorites). I agree with the reviewer who said the sandwich fillings were skimpy. It seemed like it was just thrown together--the bread was slightly over-toasted and the flavor in the fillings just wasn't there. Soup tasted odd too. Not even the ice cream was normal, the texture was kind of watery/icy instead of creamy. I will say that the service was great--very friendly staff. And it's clean and nice inside. I went there once before earlier this year and I don't remember it being bad then--so maybe today was just an off day. However, I wanted to leave this review in hopes that the management will consider taking steps to improve the quality and preparation of the food! I'm in Rockwall often and would love to have this as a go-to spot for lunch--but for now I don't plan on going back unless something changes. read more

I don't know how this place is getting great reviews on Google??? But I definitely won't be going back to Rockwall's location again. This has been my second time going and again they have failed me. I thought maybe the first mess up was due to the fact that they just opened, but the second mess up is ridiculous. My second visit wouldn't have been corrected if i never called, but the one manager there was helpful. I'm still in disbelief tho, this place has been open for about a couple of months now and THEY'RE STILL MESSING UP ON ORDERS! And for some reason the food just isn't as good as other locations. Horrible service consistently and while I am sure the employees mean well, it seems to be the same manager on duty every time I have a problem and she consistently lacks empathy. She has had her employees promise me a free meal in the past after I waited 1 hour in the drive through for a single sandwich, but gave me no voucher or anything to demonstrate credibility of the offer. It was essentially a "make the problem go away" move without any actual commitment to do better in the future.
