I was in the area Saturday morning and noticed this place was conveniently located. The Yelp photos of the popular pastrami filled bagel got my attention. It was a nice hearty sandwich with good amount of pastrami included. The staff was ultra friendly and even helped clear up our decision on Boots burger or Wells. We ended up getting both. I come here regularly and typically enjoy it, but today I came here for breakfast and a little bit of calm time in the morning. Not only did I order ahead and get the text that it was ready, but I still had to wait nearly 15 minutes before I was greeted with my order. Extremely disappointed in that. So my food nor my coffee was fresh. Additionally, I ended up losing a lot of respect for this place and the ownership when I walked in and to my surprise there was some sort of Trumpie and republican event going on. Very friendly staff that helped with the menu since it was my first time. The sammie bagel was really good toasted with chive cream cheese added to it with sausage, egg, cheese, and hashbrown. A very nice place to eat or do some work in with a few tables and a good selection of desserts and coffee which I will have to try next time. read more

I grab a Everything bagel, get it toasted and served opened faced, with whipped cream cheese, onions, capers, sliced tomato and lots of smoked salmon. Absolutely outstanding! As is many of their pastries! Service is pretty darn quick, right to your table. And every day there's a gathering of clubs or local merchants meeting or selling homemade goods and services. My husband had me put in order for my birthday breakfast. Was so excited to get the lox open face sandwich. He even told me not to worry about the price of $16 dollars. Well, I got an untoasted (asked for double toasted) bagel with plain cream cheese ( asked for dill), two small, dry ferment smelling/ tasting tomato slices, and small amount of capers (that's fine but with the rest, it just upset me). I am really disappointed. I've had this sandwich before after the delivery of my daughter and this is not the quality we received then. I'm upset my husband paid $16 for this out is out 65$ order. On top of it, my husband just let me know his sandwich was gross and the strawberry cream cheese we bought for my 4 kids is liquid like yogurt. None of them ate it. I just feel like I wasted our money because I wanted a special birthday breakfast. Won't make that mistake again. Had the chicken salad special with the toasted, Everything Bagel for lunch. It was very good tens times better than the lump of chicken salad with mayonnaise you get at the Chicken Salad Chick. The everything bagel, has a nutty like taste, and crunchy, the chicken was a good mix of thigh and breast meat with cranberry and celery bended together and tasted just right.. I could have easily ate two of them. Their cinnamon crisp was really delicious with a honey flavor throughout. They have a large choice of desserts that looked delicious and hard to pass by.. Just wish they had more locations closer to my home. It was worth the trip. The owner is very nice and friendly and she packs everything you need in large to go bag. Bagels available: Plain, everything, Asiago, Asiago jalapeños, sesame, cinnamon, cranberry nut, onion, garlic. We were just stopping through and got The Revi to split. OMG, this bagel sandwich is da bomb. Tender juicy slices of pastrami, avocado, spicy mustard - we got it without cheese (for the hubs and they were super accommodating). I almost turned around the car to get a second one. The hubs also got an apple scone (not your typical flavor!) and it was pretty stuffed, full of flavor. Well, for 2024, it was a nice surprise to see that The Bagel Lady has expanded in size, with a coffee shop attached for evening customers!. Bonus: Jax Comedy House! A tiny stage, with small tables & chairs, good for a small crowd to enjoy a solo act, maybe a duet. Size, does not, matter, how you use it does. I saw this on a bumper sticker! Back to bagels: The Bagel Lady is the actual owner/operater here, you are buying from the source, the good stuff. I got a delicious smoked salmon Lox on an Asiago Bagel, but I left off the onions & capers. Very fresh, very delicious, very good. Could not hang around for a pastry, but they were looking at me LOL The pecan braid looked too good, and chocolate-iced cinnamon rolls were calling me! More on the menu, I will have to visit soon. There aren't a lot of places that give you a good feeling the moment you walk in but this place did in spades!! I'm so glad I finally came in after seeing this place on my many trips southbound on Goliad/205. The Lavender Vanilla frappe I ordered was just what I needed and the ability to meet the proprietress and her husband, we will call him Mr. Bagel Lady haha. If the food was good, I'd give them another chance, but both the food and service here suck. People are super rude, it's filled with "regulars" that the owner allows to talk to other customers rudely. I should've read the reviews, because seeing her responses are a dead giveaway of how rude this place is. Not sure why Rockwall praises this food so much. FIrst off, they are closed on Saturday. This SHOULD mean something to you, provided you've ever met someone of Jewish lineage. I've seen below that this compares to NYC bagels... yup, 100%, no question, no concerns. Had both, hers are just as good if not better. I dug into my favorite, just as any other type food, Bagels w/Lox (and appropriate accoutremont - red onion, caper, tomato and a super tasty dill/garlic smear). Everything was excellent. I gave it a 5, because it crushed. I have only one critique. If you do a to-go, that has bagels, don't put anything else with juice / wet where it can hit the bagel and sog it. I would suggest either a little cup for the salad, and/or put the pickle and salad under a separate checkered sheet to keep the moisture away. I won't try and spell her name, but the owner (the literal bagel lady), is absolutely legit. I was wandering around and met her. Huge space, clean and staff are local kids and super friendly. I will happily offer my services as a Shabbos Goy anytime ;)... hopefully there are some left-overs in the fridge ;) read more

Came with a friend for coffee & Beagles. My friend ordered a eggel (bagel w/egg) & she wanted to add sausage. The cashier rung her up and she paid.... The owner came out a bit aggressive asking was she just ordering a bagel with egg. My friend said no I wanted sausage added on. She was a little rude about the mistake like it was our fault the cashier rung it up wrong so she told the cashier to charge her for the sausage... the cashier said ok cheese and sausage my friend just agreed sure. $2.80 extra. So then I go to order a Sammi, which I notice the prices are different on the wall then what it's saying on the cash register.. I asked why is the price different, the cashier didn't know what to say so asked the owner. The owner just brushed it off casually saying as she walking by, oh that's the cash price on the wall but you pay more if you pay with card." Wish there was a sign informing you, you pay more with a card. Then my friend gets he sandwich and they leave out the cheese, by then my friend doesn't even want to mess with them asking but I told her they charged her for the cheese. She goes up and explains to the owner grabs the beagle and two seconds later returns with a cheese slapped on the beagle & cold not even melted on it like it should be.... One of the best lox and cheese bagel I've had in Dallas. The everything bagel was lightly toasted and went so well with the chive cream cheese and salmon. Coming back from a NYC trip, I've been on a search for a bagel close to the lox and cheese I would get at bodegas and this was the closest I could get to one and it was an excellent choice. We like supporting local businesses, and wanted to try this place for a while. We went in early Sunday morning, the guy at the counter was friendly enough, but he definitely was still waking up. My wife ordered an iced coffee, I ordered an iced tea. Oh, they're out of ice. First thing in the morning. Odd, but okay. The tea was not straight black tea, feel like it had aftertaste of being in a container with a flavored tea. For breakfast, I ordered the egg & sausage bagel on Asiago, my wife ordered an everything bagel with lox & cream cheese. Was kind of surprised to see mine getting microwaved instead of toasted in an oven. When we got our food, it looked like the cheese on my bagel has been cooked well done. Her bagel was good by her. Local gems. Rockwall has so many hidden gems and this is one of awesome spots I want to introduce. I am not a Rockwall resident and I get to find so many good eateries around here. You get to try the whole sampler to find the best bagel for you. I am always a go getter for the lox and that was the biggest / best lox bagel I had! Service 5/5 they let me try the whole sampler bundle as I was the first timer. Everybody was so attentive, friendly, and made me feel welcomed. Food 5/5 I can't really remember the exact name of the sauce but the green herbal with spicy kick was the perfect with lox bagel. I want to try every kind they have literally. Atmosphere 4/5 Still under some renovation. Very good idea on expanding. The current area was still cozy vibe though. Hope this business continues its fame for very long time! Updating review to a 3.5: I still think with the current options in the area this is still the best option for bagels. I'm torn because the employees are very friendly and kind and I still think these are the best bagels in this area and the texture of their bagels are more authentic than Panera or Einstein. With that said, we've tried the bagel lady a few more times since my first review and unfortunately it's inconsistent. The shape of one of today's bagel looked like a croissant. One of the prior times we went, one of our bagels was missing from the dozen, but I did a quick count before we left because of a prior yelper's review and caught it before we left. The owner's daughter was very sweet and quickly corrected the order and apologized and said the employee that had helped us was new. Today, my son said his cinnamon raisin bagel tasted plain so not sure if they forgot to put cinnamon in the recipe or if they just used it VERY sparingly. The pumpkin cream cheese only tasted like plain cream cheese with the pumpkin pie spices -I didn't taste actual pumpkin, and with it being a fall flavor, it needed to be sweet with brown sugar. It wasn't sweet at all. I would like to highly recommend their dill cream cheese though. It's amazing and full of flavor!! Lastly, I think this bagel shop could benefit from an automatic bagel slicer. (My pumpkin bagel had a slight "everything bagel" taste and I'm not sure if it was cut with the same knife as all the bagels.) It would also be helpful if the bagels were moved to the cashier station to facilitate ordering and seeing what's available. read more

The whole time we were waiting for our order we heard the microwave popping off. I guess the microwave puts in overtime at this "restaurant" I'm not sure you can call it a restaurant if their only cooking tool is a microwave. The texture of the bagel after being microwaved was very chewy and the flavor was not that great. I loooooove this place! Let me tell you why. The food is out of this world. From the baklava to the bagels to the egg salad sandwich, Revi gets a perfect ten. But, what makes it just as special is how she remembers me when I come and makes me feel like family. I love to sit down with a bagel (I get her fabulous hummus instead of cream cheese) and a nice, smooth coffee and work on my laptop or visit with people who come in. This is a great little place where you'll meet many interesting, kind people in the community. When Rockwall area people find a good place, they come back over and over and over. And this is a gem. Revi makes a ton of yummy desserts, but I usually come for breakfast or lunch and I'm always amazed at how yummy everything is. The staff are all super friendly and accommodating. Forget Starbucks or whatever your chain you go to. Come visit this place and you'll be hooked. read more
