Decided to stop by for dessert and jazz! The place has live music seven days a week and a very intimate indoor/outdoor seating area that makes for a wonderful evening. We enjoyed some of signature drinks and desserts. Loved it! Our waiter was quick and attentive.

Amazing restaurant with live Jazz music. You are surrounded by trees, plants and awesome brick buildings. Food is good and is presented well. I ordered the charcuterie pizza which is loaded with meat. I recommend!

They have a big menu and so it may take a while to pick. Based on what we had, quinoa salad is good and light. Pesto pasta had good flavor. Salmon lasagna is good only if you are into a hearty (heavy) meal. Poutine should be shared among people in my mind rather than being an entree. It's just too heavy. You have been warned . Sit in the garden section to enjoy the area and the wasps.

I went here for lunch (there were six of us) without a reservation recently and we were promptly seated in the charming outdoor dining area. The garden has beautiful ambiance and there was also some live music. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad, it was your typical Caesar but delicious nonetheless! We also ordered fries for the table that hit the spot.

Stopped here for a quick snack and to fill some time before our River cruise. We sat in the front outdoor deck area given the beautiful day. Found out, from a friend, there is a beautiful dining area with a garden (Le Jardin) in the back which we missed-next time! Started with a couple of cocktails-Ginassis (refreshing and perfect summer drink) and an Espresso Martini. Our server recommended the "Tomato Madness" appetizer and it didn't disappoint. Confit Cherry tomatoes with two cheeses made for a memorable app. Service was friendly and attentive. Great spot for Cocktails and snacks.

We were in the hop on hop off bus and had our tour guide Richard, recommend this restaurant. We took the opportunity after a lovely walk and it was mid afternoon. We were given the choice of inside or the patio and chose outside to people watch. I had the beef tartare and a local beer and my wife had the tuna poke bowl. Both were amazing. I'd love to go back and do the same or explore the menu.

Yummy food, friendly service, beautiful ambiance. Seated pretty fast as a solo diner on a Tuesday night around 7:30, but the line got long shortly after that. Friendly waiter showed up a few minutes later Fantastic nonalcoholic options - I had a Brandenburg wheat "beer". Enjoyed the music and the setting. Background noise is loud but not so loud that I couldn't hear the music from the back of the space. And I was glad I couldn't hear the street performer that was juggling fire sticks and vamping with a microphone across the street. Sax, Electric guitar, and bass is a nice combo to have a groove and some fun solos. Poutine with pulled duck over fries - extremely yummy, not too rich, but I couldn't eat all the fries by myself. Note that you have to eat it as fast as possible, because the cold fries that result if you pause for too long are just sad. I could've done without the "just the two of us" and "making whoopie" song choices, but it is a lovely date spot (would that I had a date with me.) "Sentimental mood" is perfect. Had a decaf mocha for dessert, which came topped with whipped cream, and looked so lovely the person sitting next to me used it as an excuse to strike up a conversation. It tasted good, too.

The food and service was top notch. I could have not asked for a better server for my dinner. I will start off by saying the heaters inside are incredible. The Jazz Music was even better. However, the any pizza there is cooked to perfection for single person. Their lasagna was also delicious. My party also tried the duck poutine which were tasty. We finished our meal with Le Pot D'amour 3 Étages De Bonheur. Wow was this amazing !!!

How do I even begin? This is probably one of my favorite restaurants period! I have only been here a handful of times but I always love it as a treat. I may just be associating it with my fave memoris of Montreal but I always consider it a highlight. Is it a tad overpriced? Maybe, but location is fairly priceless. Old Montreal is a good place for a restaurant, and it's hard to find a bad view. I love how one al fresco but still inside. You get the experience of dining outside without the bother of foot traffic or loud cars/ambulances going by, bc little or no traffic is allowed on the streets nearby. I like the live but not too intrusive music, and the food is quite good. We don't get a lot of crepes here in Chicago, so a place that has them as the focus of the menu is just awesome. I came here by myself after a morning of shopping, around 2pm on a Tuesday. It is not too hard to get to via train or bus, I don't think I would drive, there is very little parking in Old Montreal. I sat almost right away. I got wine, salad, and the pork crepe. The waiter was informative and professional. I got the Canadian wine (who knew?) Le Vignoble Chat white wine. Very good, I will look for it here if they sell it. I also had Caeser salad and the pork crepe with cheese and mushrooms. So good! The only thing that put a damper on the visit was my tooth! I bit into the crepe, and cracked my filling! My teeth are problematic to say the least, so it was probably bound to happen, but I keep thinking something hard must have been in it. The waiter empathized with me, and suggested maple ice cream / crepe for dessert. I got it, and it was excellent, except for the pieces of maple candy in it. I had to avoid them as I was in pain and not trying to bite down harder than I had to. The waiter took a while to get back to me but it was pretty busy. I still left in good spirits; the umbrellas helped block out the sun and heat. An excellent choice for groups, families, couples, or solo dining.

I was in Montreal for a combined bachelor/bachelorette trip and we decided to come to this place for dinner after walking around the square trying to decide where to go. We were able to get a glimpse of the inside of the restaurant while walking around and really liked the vibes and decided to get in line for dinner. They don't take names/numbers and don't give you an estimated wait time so your best bet is to wait in line. Our group of 6 waited around 10-15 minutes before being called inside. We were seated right next to the stage where they had live jazz music playing. The music and ambiance were nice, however I felt like the watermelon sangria that we ordered and the food were only okay quality. I wouldn't order the sangria again--it tasted very artificial and not natural and was very sweet. With the long line outside and the food quality, this place reminds me of Sarabeth's in New York City if you've ever been. Overpriced and a tourists' trap. I wouldn't come back for their food or service but if you're into plants and flowers with live jazz music that's not too loud, then consider stopping by.

Gorgeous ambiance here at Jardin Nelson. The live jazz music was absolutely beautiful. We came on a Saturday night at 7:30pm for 8 people and only had to wait 45 minutes. The lines are usually long here but they do to fast. They do not accept reservations. Food was alright, very mediocre. The veggie lasagna was probably the best out of everything we ordered. The walleye was a huge disappointment due to the lack of flavor and spices (including salt). The smoked meat crepe was very also soggy and disappointing. Great views and drinks but not the best food.

If you're in the French part of Canada, you gotta try crepes. Jardin Nelson is definitely a great option as they have both sweet and savory crepes, and a beautiful terrace to enjoy them on a nice summer day. Yes, it is expensive, but it's in the heart of old Montreal and the quality is great. Highly recommend.

Good service and good food. Beautiful patio area in the back. Live music. French onion soup was very good. Espresso martini was fair.

I somehow thought they would collect it at the door, but it was added to my bar tab. Good idea, efficient, they surely don't do that here! I was hoping to sit at a table, but they told me a previous party was still there, so they sat me at the bar, with my back to the music! I was not happy with that but since I was there by myself maybe it was to be expected? The place reminded me of The Green Mill here in Chicago, another intimate jazz club, except they serve food here as well. I had eaten earlier so I only got drinks. I sampled one of the local beers and had a cocktail. The bartender was helpful and friendly. The Alex Bellegarde Trio came on and were great. Other guests came up for a jam session, one of my favorite things about jazz. The place was not easy to find on public transportation, but maybe that's bc I took the train and walked. The area was nice, artsy and busy even at 11:30 at night. I'd go back next time I am in Montreal, but maybe take a Lyft or Uber.

"If you have a favorite band, you need to see them in Montreal"…read more This is something I have been chasing for just over a decade, but never able to make it happen, thankfully this was fixed involving the same venue, funny enough. The Venue, in comparison to anything I've experienced in my life, would be in the top 5 favorite venues, great layout, and phenomenal sound. Getting to see my favorite band of all time, In Flames was very close to a religious experience, being on the floor, everyone around me was singing every single word, lots of movement, stomping feet (wow) and a plethora of horns in the air. There is something I've experienced in this venue that I've not experienced anywhere in all my concert going, there are dedicated people who walk around with drink trays and a mobile debit machine, what great and game changing service (Toronto could learn a thing or two) Having a tiny complaint, the lighting for the back floors was not bright enough for the atmosphere, I thought it was my eyes, but it was not, as this area felt super dark all throughout the performance of all four bands. I'm in love with this venue, and this neighborhood, I can't wait to come back and experience a headline show for my favorite band of all time, with the crazy metalhead concert going community of Montréal 5+/5

Admission was quick and simple. There's a bar off to the side with seating and TV views of the stage to let you take a load off between acts and a huge one at the back of the main theater with multiple bartenders to keep the booze flowing. The sound system is good and there seems to be adequate bathroom access for the listed 2,300-person capacity. The standing-room-only floor grades down so that you can see over taller patrons and still get reliable views of the stage, and there are drink tables spaced out so you can set your beverage down to clap for your act. And after dealing with the absolutely execrable LiveNation and their evil venues with $18 beers in the US, being able to get a tall can of Molson for $10CAD was positively a breath of fresh air. I don't think there's any dedicated parking?
