Food was amazing, and service was also great. Although it made ME feel uncomfortable looking at them, I greatly appreciate the almost PPE-like outfit the staff is wearing. They had masks, face shields, some plastic overall thingy, the gloves, the hand sanitizers, and checking temps in the front. Tables may be just a tad bit too close in some areas. All in all, I love this place. We ordered tofu soups and a couple of different beef and rice plates and they were all super delicious. Now, I only wish I live close enough to eat here every day. This is one of my favorite Korean places in Georgia. My go-tos here are the galbi jjim and the seafood pancake. Here me out on the pancake because it's actually really fucking good, though a bit greasy. The pancakes here are thicker and oh so damn crispy, but they keep the seafood cooked well (no rubberized squid). The galbi jjim is one level below being great: it's never mindblowingly tender or addictively flavorful, but it has a homemade taste and is consistently good. The braised spicy pork is also good in the same regards. Their other dishes are in the same class give or take a few, and the tofu soup here is one of my favorites (so much more flavor than most even soondubu focused stores). Their banchan are solid and varied, but this place could benefit from more rotation and seasonality (though that applies to 99% of restaurants in Atlanta). The best kind of food for a cloudy and rainy day! We came in around 1pm on a Saturday - if there's a lot of people inside... when you get to the host stand, try to flag someone down and they'll mark how many people you have and give you a pager for your wait. It's convenient but I didn't understand the system when I first walked in since the hostesses are the same people serving tables. When seated, you'll get a choice of hot tea or iced water. Love how many combos you can get. We ended up getting a #47 Combo of mixed (seafood & beef) tofu soup with their L.A. style galbi (short ribs), and their #28 WooGuJi Galbi Tang (Cabbage Beef Rib Stew). JSJ is one of the many korean tofu restaurants that Duluth and Pleasant Hill has come to be known for. Amongst the choices, how does one decide which one to go to? If it's the lunch deal, I recommend Well Bean with their 6.99 combination deals. I've heard Dan Moo Ji, A Hyang are also solid places, but JSJ is the best and most authentic one that everyone seems to agree on being consistently good. Prices are toward the 13.99$ hot bibimbap dish, 10.99$ for their soon tofu, but I guarantee everything to be good. It gets super crowded on a Sat night, so be prepared to find parking at the Tires Place next door. This place is known for their stews (noodle soups and soon tofu jiggae). If you want Korean BBQ, I recommend 9292 or other places in Duluth. You come here for their solid soups and soup based dishes. Their side dishes usually include an acorn pudding, a kimchi, broccoli steamed, bokchoy kim chi- usually vegetable dishes that are refillable- this one does not have any meats in their banchan that I noticed, but that' keeps your palate fresh for anyone ordering a heavier meal ahead. We ordered the duk bok gi, soon tofu, and their stone hot bibimbap. Their duk bok gi is definitey flavorful with fish cake and is 13.99$ which I recommend splitting as appetizer for a table of 4, or it can honestly feed 2-3 people. Large portion. Their soon tofu was pretty good- standard seafood/beef/etc options. I thought their rice was a little too moist if you order the purple rice (purple rice does take longer to took, but they may have over watered this one- I recommend the white or mix grain for a more dry rice to go with the tofu soup). Bibimbap was good- good variety of toppings, nothing Americanized, and it came out hot on their bowl. Service is pretty good for their kind of business. You have to ding the call button to get anyone's attention, but no one forgets about your requests. Level of noise is pretty good- you're not shouting and there is not much smoke from the grills if people are doing barbecue. Overall air and atmosphere is not hazy or noisy like some people. read more

We would return and would like to bring a group. Also, it would be better to arrive plenty before closing to enjoy for a longer period of time. Might be the best Korean Restaurant (in my opinion) in Duluth! Every single one of the sides was so delicious and well balanced - my favorite being the cucumber kimchi. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone trying out Korean food for the first time! When I entered the restaurant, I was quickly greeted and had my temperature checked. The waitress brought out the banchan quickly and our food was followed up shortly. The LA galbi was hot, flavorful, and thick cut compared to other restaurants in the area. The bossam was also very delicious. All of the side dishes were tasty but the kimchi was a bit on the mild side for my preference. I ordered a seafood tofu soup with medium spice level. When it arrived to the table, it was barely boiling. I wasn't able to cook all of the egg white fully when I cracked an egg in there. We came down from Charleston for my daughter's birthday. It was so good, we had been missing good Korean food since leaving California and this place was perfect. It has a very homey, welcoming feel. We arrived on a Saturday night and were seated immediately. The service was was amazing, our waitress was so nice and helpful with suggestions. We ordered the Bibimbap, Bulgogi and the DaeJi Bulgogi. The food and service was truly top tier and don't even get me started with all the Banchan dishes. We are coming back in May for my other daughter's birthday. I dare say the food in this place is better than some restaurants in Seoul, Korea. We ordered Pork rib stew for two, it was perfect combination of Pork, radish, kombucha pumpkin and rice cake. The radish chunk had absorbed the sauce of the stew so they were very flavorful. But for me the rice cakes were heavenly. I also ordered spicy arrowroot cold noodle. This is one of my favorite places in Duluth to grab Korean food. I shared beef galbi and seafood tofu soup. Their soup is so flavorful and full of seafood. Not sure what to make of this given the amount of Elite'22 reviewers who rave about this place, but I can't agree with their taste buds. Sure, it's korean food, but it isn't good korean food when weighed against the pricing by any means. I'd expect this level of food from a street-side food stall (they might even make it better) @ 25% of the price. We ordered LA Galbi, Beef Tofu Stew, and Seafood Fried Rice, total came out to $80 after tip. I'd expect to pay ~$40, at most, for what we ate. L.A. Galbi looked like a combination of leftover strips from other customers dish, reheated it, and plated messily without any garnish. Tasted overcooked and left out for a while. Beef Tofu Stew was meh, you can find better at SGD or from a BCD package at the store. Najki Bokkeumbap was off in the flavor. Not enough salt, too spicy, and way too much sesame oil, rendering the profile real bitter and unenjoyable. The food was sub-par at best, and I'm genuinely curious if the other 5-star reviewers have ever had good korean food, or am I missing something? 1/5, its' a pass. read more

Also tried the cold arrowroot noodles and the tofu stew which was also good. Service was also very fast and the cost of the food is fair considering the quality. My friends and I came here for lunch the day we leave georgia and it did not dissapoint! There was a lot of korean restaurants in doraville and duluth, it was just so hard to pick where to go and I'm so glad we chose this place. As soon as you enter you see a hand sanitizer and as you get seated on the table they ask you if you want a hot tea and/or water. The server here is so nice and the meal is just so good!! I ended up sharing a meal with my boyfriend as we had the combo galbi+beef tofu soup that comes with banchans. There was 4 of us but only 3 ordered and each order came with small banchan. It was so much that i'm kinda glad I didn't get anything anymore. Also make sure you press the button in the middle if you need your servers to come to you otherwise you'll be waiting for the longest time. Highly recommend this place! read more

Great food, very poor service that seems to be against non-Korean customers. We waited 5-10mins for a staff to come seat us although the restaurant was half-empty and 3, 4 staffs saw us walking in. They seated a Korean family after us right away and also treated them friendlier (we are not Korean). Although we came before that Korean family, we had to wait longer to get our order in, our food, and even our check (we finished our food before them). The staff barely spoke to us when we ordered or asked for more side dish (once) although we said 'thank you' along the way. I had great experience the first time when I went with my friends but it's different when I was with my family this time. The food, the service, always tops, and I love their kimchi (as well as their other bonchons). My only fault with them is they do not use any delivery services. However the tall ceilings and the rustic furniture inside make the restaurant feel twice as big! Food: so good! Soup dishes were pretty standard! I felt that the tofu soup had a lot of tofu--even for a tofu soup (sounds weird, I know). But the flavors were rich and had healthy servings of shrimp and clams. The most pleasant surprise came from the seafood pancake. One-inch thick, this crispy appetizer almost became an entree. Service: good service overall once we were seated. Gets packed pretty quickly. The location can be missed if you don't slow down! The parking lot is a tight space but not overcrowded at all. You will walk into what feels like a traditional korean "house." The food is the most authentic I've had since living in Gwinnett. The Bimbibop Stone Bowls ACTUALLY has crispy rice at the bottom(and that's why we came) my kiddo enjoys all soups and glass noodles A-LOT, so it was an overall cultural experience as well. My only complaint is there's very little parking here for how popular it is. And the sign is a little confusing. I don't know if it said jang su jang on it. The food here is great. We came for a birthday celebration and had a variety of items like the seafood pancake, king dumplings, banchan, bulgogi, black rice/white rice, spicy squid and a few other items. I loved the king dumplings - they have so much filling! The bulgogi and spicy squid were my favorite entrees that we tried and it was a ton of food. We had plenty of leftovers to take home for lunch the next day. The service is ok. This is one of my top 5 restaurants in all of Georgia - for classic Korean dishes, it can be on the more expensive side, but it is 100% worth the price. All meals come with free banchan - so much variety - and yogurt drinks at the end of the meal. If you are new to Korean cuisine, I suggest taking recommendations from staff, although everything here is delicious. Soups come out boiling hot (with a raw egg, giving you the option to cook it right away), and everything tastes straight out of the kitchen! This was our second time here and brought my 81 year old korean mother for her birthday. If mom likes it you know its good. Food is very authentic and delicious. Super hot! Everything comes out super hot. Burned my arm. My bad. The korean pancake had so many things in it. It was heaven. The banchan were all good. Some better than others but really good. The kimchi jigae was piping hot and delicious. Great flavor and lots of porkbelly. We also had 2 different bibimbop. My squid one was good but no egg or any other veggies. But had great flavor. The regular bibimbop was ok. The pork bbq was super. Tasted really good with great flavor . Had tons of food to go. Ordered to much. Reasonable too. I gave it 4 stars cuz our food came out before the appetizer. No other beers than korean beer. Bathroom need some TLC. read more
