Jamba Juice, like Subway, and many other restaurants try to bring the healthy lifestyle to the people of Hawaii. Freshly made smoothies and juice products help facilitate such a lifestyle or option for those of y'all who enjoy smoothies after a challenging day at the office, a day at the mall, or just because. For myself though, it was a bit of both of health and convenience. That and getting in my fruit servings for the day. It's quite convenient to have Jamba Juice here in Hawaii to remind us of this fact that health is wealth and the most important part of a great lifestyle. My experiences here at Jamba Juice is fairly typical at this location. Typically, there are many people who are in line for their orders, compared to the other one in the mall, which is not so much. I dislike the lines, but having steady business is good. For the most part though, my wait time is typically about 10 minutes or less. As soon as you get your order in and pay, you just need for the staff at Jamba to fill your order and you're out with your drink(s). My favorite as of late is the chocolate moo'd. It's not a real chocolate milkshake per say, but it's more of a healthier version that can be beneficial to help those chocolate cravings. I also enjoy the strawberries wild and also the cold buster, whenever I need to get over that onset of stubborn cold/sniffles symptoms. The orange steam machine is pretty dope too. I actually had one last week on a typical trip to Ala Moana shopping center. The overall experience here at this Jamba Juice - Ala Moana shopping center, 1st floor Makai Market is pretty okay. The lines are long but the service is quick and friendly. Basically you tell them what you want and pay. There's not much interaction besides a quick hi to the cashier and the staff who calls your name when the order is ready for pick up. It's usually crowded here at the 1st floor food court, but you get used to it. If there is a line, it's usually short and moves fairly quickly. Not much else to say, other than that Jamba Juice has a pretty good assortment of smoothie products and a decent amount of flavors you can add to the base smoothie so you can have that perfect combination to call your own. Sometimes, I would add strawberries into my chocolate moo'd smoothie just to give it some kick when my mood suited me. Of course, it does cost extra, so be mindful of that. It is in a food court, so there's not much room for the actual restaurant itself. It's basically a fast food counter, but there's plenty of seating options in the food court, but current Covid rules applies here. Whatever you do at Ala Moana shopping center, consider coming by to Jamba Juice to get a refreshing smoothie to add a layer of awesome to your day. I'd recommend the aforementioned chocolate moo'd, peanut butter moo'd, or the strawberries wild. It will make you go wild! This Jamba Juice location is humbly located at the 1st floor Makai Market food court at the Ala Moana shopping center. It's basically next to the north entrance of the food court, where the escalators are. Ala Moana is physically located at 1450 Ala Moana Boulevard in Honolulu. They accept major credit cards, but accept cash as well. But in the age of Covid-19, credit cards are generally preferred. As far as the parking situation goes, you're at Ala Moana shopping center, there's plenty of parking here. Just make sure you know where you are parked, so you can find your vehicle quickly, as the mall is quite large enough to make you get confused a little bit. If you are like me, many bus routes start or ends service here at Ala Moana shopping center. You need to choose the right route(s) for you to get here for your day of shopping and your fix of Jamba Juice. The prices have been rising steadily over the years. I remember the price for a medium was about $5 something 10 years ago, but now it's over $6. It is what it is. Jamba Juice is known to be health business, but you can go off the rails if you wanted to. KOKO HEAD is one of the new smoothie creations by Chef Leanne Wong. I'm not usually a big fan of Jamba Juice because the smoothies are too sweet and don't really keep me full for longer than two hours. I've probably gone to Jamba Juice once in the past 2 years. HOWEVER, last week I was walking past the Jamba in Hawaii Kai and saw a new sign that had Chef Leanne Wong from Koko Head Cafe and her three new "creations" for Jamba Juice in Hawaii so I walked in and decided to try it. I tried it again at the Jamba on Ward Ave, and then last night I was really craving it again but it was late, and there are only 3 locations that open til 10pm, this one was one of them (the other two in Waikiki). LOCATION: This Jamba is located right across Nitrogenie in the new Ewa Wing at Ala Moana center. It used to be here before the renovation, but now it looks a little different. They are open UNTIL 10PM when other locations close at 9pm. Great Jamba location. My fiancé and I went in to try something new and yummy for our mall shopping. I went onto the secret menu and decided to try out the sour patch kids and tropical paradise w/ half strawberry half banana. I wanted to use a promo coupon thing that I was emailed, and two different gift cards on the Jamba app. After we made our special order requests, I tried to use the coupon but it was no good. First my reception stunk, then the WiFi. The cashier was very patient with me, but then realized that the coupon/promo gift card was only for the mainland and wouldn't work at this location. She was very apologetic. We then went to the app, and she happily manually punched in the card numbers for the two different cards. Because it took a while to finish paying, our drinks were already ready. They were delicious! Major hit! We loved them. They were pretty sugary (as most things are on the secret menu), but we loved them. Overall, we had a rough experience. But it wasn't the fault of the store or employees at all. It was my phone, the coupon itself not pointing out locations or states that don't accept the coupon, and my personal fault for not having the app and coupon loaded by the time I hit the register. This is a quick review for the Ala Moana Jamba Juice right across from nitrogenie. It was 8:40am and based on how long they took to acknowledge me I assumed incorrectly that they were closed. Make sure to have your Rewards login/app. I only like to get the jamba smoothie when there's a deal, like 50% off. It was really nice when I went in at about 11:30am on a Saturday. There was no line, I made my order, and barely only waited a few moments and my large caribbean passion was done already! When you use the 50% off offer, it was only about $4. I'm all about value, and so worth it. I always tell myself to try to pick a different smoothie, but I always end up getting the Caribbean Passion. Coming from the entrance facing the parking garage a person will see the counter in front. There will be a black rope divider which forms a line for the customers to follow. Customers would stand in line until they reach the counter to place an order of a blended drink. My recent visit I stood in line after several individuals. I reached the counter and was greeted by the employee. I placed an order of a small banana berry. Darn it...forgot to use my gift card. I paid using cash. The shop also accepts credit cards as payments. After I paid for my drink I noticed that there was a cold case towards the right side of the counter and it had bottles of water. I also noticed a surfboard mounted on the wall above the windows. I noticed there were few tables and chairs outside of the shop for customers to use. So I use to work for Jamba and know some of the in's of what they are about. They make their own fruit juices and it's just juice, no sugar is added. The fruit is flash frozen so nothing is added to that. With that being said, any of the all fruit smoothies are excellent for Paleo peeps or the fresh squeezed juices. This Jamba is always busy but the line goes pretty fast bcs they try to serve everyone within 2 mins from start to finish. I love the Acai bowls, their blend of juice and fruits has a great taste profile. I've tried a lot of other bowls around town and Jamba's in the top 3. The bottom part is already watery/ melted with barely any ice in it... If you can find a seat in the food court better eat it right away because it's already melted... I don't go to Ala Moana Center very often due to overcrowding and its huge popularity with especially the tourists. When I went on a Friday in the middle of the day, the line actually wasn't long at all and most of the people there were actually waiting for their orders. We love JJ and am so glad the line goes by fast here even with staff training or learning a new recipe. I almost always order the matcha green tea while the kid gets white gummy. Every once in awhile I'll get a carrot juice when I feel I've been lacking in veggies and wanna run some carrots through my system. The shop is spacious, clean and fast moving. Coming in on a sunny Friday afternoon (when is it not sunny here?!), I was parched from the sojourn from Waikele back to town. After scrambling through two other stops in the center, this was my final destination. Remembering my 16 oz. complimentary card from Northern California, the cashier ran the card through and sadly told me that it isn't valid here. Undeterred, I ordered a 16 oz. Orange Dream Machine with immunity boost and joined about eight or nine other waiting customers. While waiting, the cashier really stood out as each person or party entered; she greeted them with "Hi, how can I help you?" with a friendly smile. Working in retail, this is not the easiest thing to do on an all-day basis. The drink maker looked a bit swamped, but efficiently completed the orders. I had to revise my previous review. It wouldn't be right if I didn't! All it took was one good experience to change my mind about the unfortunate previous experiences I had at this location. I'd say I'm easy to make it up to! I came in around 1:30pm on a Thursday. A young man assisted me, I ordered the usual: Koko Head with whey protein, extra thick. He had a hard time punching it into the system and apologized for the delay. I later found out he was in training. Cherise ended up assisting him with the input. She also made my drink for me. I took one sip and was pleased! It was the first time my drink had been made to my liking - just the way I had asked, in awhile. I like the fact that they opened up a branch in the Ala Moana Center's Makai Marketplace, but don't like the way their signs read. I noticed that there is always some confusion with where the patrons are to stand. (As well as at their location next to Sears on the upper level.) I understand the need for some organization because of these busy locations, but there are always people standing and waiting to order on both ends and people who arrive after me always get helped first since the end of the line is placed right at the register. The great thing about the Jamba Juice at this location is that it's never crowded. It also doesn't hurt that it's close to work, so I can stop buy during my lunch to grab a quick smoothie or one of their blended bowls. The customer service is friendly and efficient. I've never had any trouble with the employees. One of my most recent discoveries is the chocolate strawberry bowl. At $6.59 for the sixteen, the prices are a little steep, but they've got me hooked on this thing. Its a blend of chocolate moo'd and strawberrys and the taste is so addicting. It's got this awesome chocolately berry blend that doesn't taste super sugary at all! To top it off they add granola and sliced bananas. So good~ Parking is a little tough to find, but it's tough in general for the area. I know some people like to park at the Walmart parking lot and just walk over to Starbucks and Jamba Juice.
