Too Good To Go bag
Sophie B.

Got a Too Good to Go bag here. It didn't have a great quantity and I didn't really enjoy anything in it. Both the banana bread and peanut butter cookie were pretty flavorless. The jalapeno bagel was fine but I'd definitely never get it again.

Matcha Martini

Stopped by after a shopping trip in Chinatown and had the Matcha Martini--so good! The coffee bar was packed with tons of options, from classic coffee to creative lattes and more. I'd highly recommend this spot, especially since they have a cool area where you can watch the slow roasting process in action. A great place to unwind and enjoy a unique drink!

Friendly service and helpful recommendations. Very inviting, comfortable space offering a variety of seating options with just enough tabletop for your drink and laptop. Food is fresh and offers good variety as well. I'm on vacation and scoping out all the areas, so I'm very happy to come across a coffee shop that offers day drinking options!!! YAY for the espresso martinis!!!

Sandwich with skimpy bacon and an egg--The bread was fresh. The red velvet hot chocolate is good.

I love Jaho at 665 Washington. I came to this location, 1651 Washington by accident. It has the same offerings I presume. This location is much smaller but still has a variety of seating options including traditional tables, booth style pubs, counter level seats, and one window seat. It is easier to find a seat here than at the 665 Washington location. I ordered a focaccia sandwich with bacon and eggs. I wanted avocado, but they didn't have any fresh. The sandwich was ok but very skimpy bacon. I spent $10 on a sandwich that had maybe 1.5 pieces of bacon. So, the value for your dollar is below average here. I also ordered a red velvet hot chocolate, which is nothing short of amazing. I travel over 30 minutes just for the red velvet hot chocolate. The service could have been more friendly. No one wants to walk into a cafe to do a couple of hours of work when the service is stale. It cheapens the experience.

Jaho is nice place in Boston. The coffee is as expected and they have a wide variety of drinks. From coffee to teas and even boba, there's definitely some thing for everyone to try. I like Jaho for their fun drinks. They have a lot of flavors and ways you can customize to make drinks dairy free. They always have seasonal lattes and specialty drinks which I would highly recommend when you explore. I haven't tried too much from their food menu. A lot of their sandwiches have meats or cheese and you don't get to swap anything for free if you are trying to adapt for food allergies. It can make customizing a bagel or sandwich kind of expensive (~$12) to the point where I'd rather just go somewhere else for a more filling meal. That said, I do love their basic bagels and just add hummus or peanut butter. Jaho is definitely more of a beverage place for me. The inside of the store is very trendy and hip. When I can, I sit inside to enjoy my drink, do a bit of work, and people watch. There is a decent amount of indoor seating and also some tables outside. It's close to the Boston Medical and the Boston University medical campus, making it a great option for students and employees in the area. Jaho adds a little bit of fun into everyone's day!

Tried the hibiscus iced tea ...lightly sweet... might have to put some sugar if you like it sweeter.... Came in a cute plastic cup

Red velvet hot chocolate

I have such mixed opinions about this place. They have many options for milk substitutions (soy, almond, coconut, macadamia, the list goes on), but as many of the reviewers pointed out, the menus have no prices and my order ended up being pricier than I expected. For a small cake/cookie thing and a small hot chocolate, my total came close to $9. This pricing is similar to other bougie cafes in the area, but Jaho doesn't really give off "bougie" vibes to me. Continuing on the theme of mixed opinions, the red velvet hot chocolate I tried was super delicious. It was as red as a cherry starburst, but it wasn't too sweet and had a nice flavor. Unfortunately, the honey cake I tried was super dry, cold, and tasted kind of undercooked? It reminded me of the weird baking experiments I used to do when I was in elementary school (and I was not good at baking). To have spent $9 on good hot chocolate but a bad pastry was quite a disappointment. They do have a large tea selection, free WiFi, smaller tables as well as a comfy couch area.

It's a pretty great sandwich, actually. I like the Boss, but there are many great options. There are just two things to keep in mind: 1) it's relatively expensive (though doable) 2) the sandwiches are quite rich and salty, often relying on a flavorful cream element (truffle cream, pistachio cream, etc.) As a result, I probably wouldn't go every day or even every week. But a once-a-month cadence or so would be great. Try it!

Sam LaGrassa's is a Boston legend that's lost its way…read more As a local, I used to defend Sam LaGrassa's to anyone who called it a tourist gimmick. It was the gold standard for a real sandwich in the city. Sadly, the magic has faded. Between the soaring prices and the shrinking portions, the value just isn't there anymore. You can taste the "corner-cutting"--the flavors aren't as bold as they used to be, and the sandwiches feel noticeably smaller even though the cost has increased exponentially - I mean $30 for a sammy?! It should have gold in it! Even then, I'd keep coming once in awhile if the service was worth it. but honestly - the staff seems burnt out even bright early in the morning. But I'm actually writing about the company's website and phone recording. Once, on a prior holiday, and today due to a winter storm, I wasn't sure if the restaurant was open. In both cases (where the restaurant turned out to be closed), the website (appropriately) didn't allow online orders, and (more importantly) THE OUTGOING PHONE RECORDING WAS UPDATED WITH CURRENT INFORMATION. In an era where businesses barely have phone numbers to call, or employees who answer with something other than 'hello', is rare (and by the way, this is the fault of management if they don't properly train their staff). THANK YOU FOR HAVING YOUR SHIT TOGETHER IN COMMUNICATING YOUR HOURS TO THE PUBLIC. I, for one, appreciate it.

We almost felt that we were inconveniencing the workers and the wait time is absurd for in person orders. But I have to give credit when it's due, this was by far one of my favorite sandwiches although they are pricey, you can easily feed a party of four with a nice bag of chips on the side. We were blessed with being able to try the table sandwich. The focaccia was fresh along with the mozzarella and arugula. Since we made an online order which quoted us 45 minutes, our sandwich was ready in 20 so unfortunately, the chicken cutlet was not as fresh as we would've liked. Sidenote, the first day we attempted to order in person they quoted us an hour, so we decided to place an order of the following day. Highly recommend placing the order and staying local to be safe. While you can order there, it does seem like it takes some time for the sandwiches to be made. There is a sign saying that for the weekends to expect up to an hour wait for your sandwich. That being said, I ordered ahead online and my sandwich was ready when I got there. (This was a Thursday afternoon). I got the vodka chicken Parm after seeing it online and it definitely lives up to the hype. And yes, it is ~$30. The sandwich is huge. It has huge cutlets in it which are very filling, and perfectly made. It ended up being enough for two people, so find a person to share it with! The vodka sauce in the sandwich was sooooo good, definitely one of the best I've found in boston. They also provide you with a whole container of sauce to dip your sandwich into (highly recommend doing that). What lost the star is that I felt there wasn't enough basil. For that huge sandwich, there was actually very few bites with basil. I wish there was more of it, and I also wish there was some other green in there like arugula. Other than that, it's a great sandwich. I'd definitely get this again!

The spinach tortellini with the pesto cream sauce is my absolute favorite- it's a HUGE portion and so delicious. It usually lasts me at least 2 meals. The bread they include is also great! I like to dip it in the sauce. The past time I got Dino's I accidentally ordered spinach ravioli instead of tortellini...that was my bad. HOWEVER I think I might have found my new favorite? The raviolis are huge and so fat. I'm talking like 1/2 inch - 3/4 inch thick. There is so much stuffing and the spinach ricotta mix tastes so fresh and delicious...it's a must try. I've also gotten the eggplant parm before, and the fettuccini Alfredo. Both were also delicious. I've never had any of the sandwiches, but if they are anything like their pastas then I'm sure they are great! The bang for your buck here is also great which is nice. Highly recommend!
