This is a cute little coffee shop in Cambridge with great coffee and fresh food. There are lots of vegetarian options but some chicken items as well. The coffee drinks were good - I especially enjoyed the Nitro cold brew. I had the burrito with chicken and while it was filling, I found it a little bland. It could have definitely used some salsa. The chicken quesadilla really looks a lot more like a grilled cheese, but it was tasty. The lemon lavender scone was nice but just a little too dry for me. The place was clean and had a nice vibe. I would definitely return when I'm in the area. read more

Bigbig area! When I walked in I wasn't too sure where to order... A sign to the right said "order here" but straight ahead when you enter there was a cash register. Anyway I stood at the cash register for a few minutes and a team Member can from the back (kitchen) to take my orders I couldn't decide between a latte or a cappuccino. She explained the difference between the two and I decide to do the latte with less foam. Well the latte was good but there was too much foam.... This is a large space and the windows are even bigger which makes it nice to people watch. A few customers came in with their dogs so assume it's also dog friendly. This isn't a good since to work as there is no wifi and cell service seems minimal too. Try it if you are in the area but I wouldn't recommend visiting if it's out of your way. read more

Cute little coffee shop in the Cambridge area. The prices for the coffee are average to the area. The music in the shop is soft (more on the quieter side). Food was fantastic. I got the ALT and veggie burrito. I was happily blown away by the veggie forward food. The salad that comes with the ALT seems like the same ingredients that go into the veggie burrito. read more

Used to be a great place to hang out with a cup of good coffee. Has since gone downhill more and more with each year that passes. They automatically add a tip when you purchase a coffee without telling you, then flips over the screen to just have you sign. This is one of my favorite spots in the neighborhood - although previous reviewers have faulted Barismo for not having WiFi, I personally find that to be a bonus! It's a great spot to get off screen, write, read, and talk with a friend; I find that it's generally pretty quiet in there, or mostly the sound of other people conversing with each other in-person (as opposed to on-calls or Zoom). The breakfast burrito is the best thing on the menu IMHO - so wholesome and delicious. Also recommend their nutella lavender biscotti! For drinks, the iced draft latte is excellent. I've enjoyed getting to know the staff over time, and always feel welcomed whenever I visit. So in short... please don't let the 3.2 rating here deter you from trying this spot. There are plenty of other options nearby if you require WiFi, but I would hate for you to think Barismo is no good just on those merits alone. A nice looking establishment! Quite spacious with plenty of space to work!... Well kinda. They didn't have Wi-Fi and they didn't seem to really want people working here anyways. Coffee was mediocre in my eyes which really limits the redeeming qualities of the cafe after you add up all these aspects. A friend and I went here for a quick coffee. Due to Covid, they are accepting online orders. The process to order was very straightforward and even integrates with apple/google pay so you don't have to take out your card in the middle of the road. The area to pick up the order, the window is a little small, but there weren't many other customers so it was not too bad. I tried the cold latte with oat milk and the lavender scone. Great coffee is a given. I was a little skeptical of a lavender flavoured scone but it was actually really good! The balance of lemon and lavender was spot on! Also lacked the variety of drinks that most other coffee shops have like matcha etc. Got an iced chai and it was mostly milk with the slightest chai flavoring. Latte and customer service was great but it makes absolutely no sense for this cafe space not to offer Wi-fi to its customers. If they required purchase of products for access to the password and put a time limit on the amount of time you could stay it would make better sense than not offering it at all. read more

I liked this place. Espresso shot was pretty good. I would have liked some sparking water or seltzer water to help clean my pallet but major respect for the pour over. Absolutely delicious. Come here to drink a pour over. A buddy of mine tried to get a 16 oz pour over and they said, nope, that will dilute the coffee and we can't do that. Only 10oz. That's beautiful. I loved it. After finding Dwelltime on a Thrillist list of top coffee shops in Boston, we ventured down Broadway to its unassuming location with our books in hand, ready for good coffee, breakfasty bites, and a relaxing atmosphere. What we encountered was something much different. Brunch was being served, so we were seated with menus by a waitress in the somewhat loud space (made louder by the screaming child just one table over). The menu boasted that it was from December 2014, so it seems that at least some of the offerings change monthly. Looking to be warmed up on a chilly day, I ordered the pineapple spice oat bowl, and the bf got the frittata with roasted veggies. For drinks, the Guatemalan pour-over was delicious with some fruity notes. The machiatto was a bit too bitter for my liking, but my caffeine-centric partner drank it with gusto. And it had some art on top, which I'm always a sucker for. The food came, and it was just kind of lukewarm. I need my oatmeal hot to maximize comfort, so I asked them to please warm it up for me. They took my bowl away, and I had a wait a good amount of time to get it back (how long does it take to stick something in the microwave?), When I did take a new spoonful, it was a bit warmer but still not piping. Fine enough. The pineapple mixture on top was nice - not overly sweet and flavored in a Caribbean motif with cinnamon and rum. The fruit bowl on the side was meh - melons (filler fruit, if you ask me), a few pineapples (which I already had enough of in my bowl), and mango (the best part). The oats under the pineapple topping were pretty tasteless, so I wasn't tempted to finish the bowl (which I guess could be a positive thing?). The fritatta on the other hand was much more flavorful and really cheesy. The roasted veggies on the side were also done well, although again I would have preferred it to be served hotter. And another disappointing fruit cup made an appearance. The portion was pretty small, so I would not order these brunch items if you're trying to get the most "bang for your buck." Considering the noise level and waitress checking on us every few minutes, D-Time is not the type of place to lounge with a good read. We ate, caffeinated up, and headed out to find somewhere that actually embodied the coffee shop experience. It was fine, but one of the best cafes in Boston? I'm not sure that Thrillist editor gets out much. read more

Cute spot in an area where there isn't much going on. Easy to park on the street. I didn't see a sign out front but there wasn't anything else around so I assumed I was in the right place. The barista recommended the lemon lavender scone and it was really good - light with a great flavor and a nice little crunch on the outside. I love Dwelltime's baked goods, brunch, lunch, and coffee. Most of the baristas are pretty friendly and the location is great. I just wish they were more organized. 3 out of 4 times that I've been here for brunch they run out of everything 1/2 hour or more before it's supposed to end. Not just one thing, not just "we're doing a revised brunch menu of just pancakes/waffles because we ran out of everything except for flour, eggs, milk etc." Everything. Today they stopped brunch early again and this couple next to me asked about the food they had ordered before they started closing the kitchen (still 15 min til end of brunch) They forgot about the order and since they were closing the kitchen down already they were out of luck. Woah. So until they start ordering enough food to deal with brunch, come before 1:30 on Sundays. Even if it's a summer Sunday where everyone in the city is at the beach and there are like 5 people at Dwelltime. read more

Not sure why this place has such a low rating! This is the best place for coffee around Central Square! Barismo offers a bunch of pastries and snacks as well as a good selection of coffees. They also have grounds for sale and are offering more food options. The food - my go to a at barismo are usually their espresso drinks - primarily their lattes or espresso. I think the iced latte is the highlight and makes for a perfect afternoon pick me up drink. The espresso is strong which is why some people may say it's too bitter, but that's how I like my coffee. The espresso is good but I always have to add at least a bit of milk to it. I've also had their mint tea which is really tasty and very strong; you shouldn't let it steep for too long. As for snacks, the brownies are a must have. They are really rich and extremely chocolatey which is exactly what I need when I'm looking for a brownie. Their cookies are slight while the scones are good and have an interesting taste with different baking spices. The place - really nice spot to have a chat or to read a book or just chill for a few minutes. They don't offer WiFi so that's quite a bummer but I guess it limits how long people stay. The space itself is rather large with lots of seating options and it's usually never that full so you can pretty much find a spot to sit pretty easily. They do play music most of the times which may make it a bit too loud for a phone call. Overall, I really recommend this place for an afternoon treat ....get the brownie!! read more

A snooty coffee shop. The coffee wasn't very good and the staff is not helpful. The bar is in the center of the restaurant, an you're supposed to order in the back left side. Which is not evident unless you've been there before. We got the quiche of the day, twice, with two different flavors, and they were really good, which saved this review from getting less stars. Coffee here is exceptional. Food is also very good but wouldn't necessarily go out of my way for the food unless I was going for a coffee. Slightly more expensive than some other shops in the area but I find their coffee to be worth paying the 50 cents extra. I have bought beans here several times because their roasts are so delicious. Drip coffee is the perfect temperature every time and I have never been disappointed by it. Really great medium roast. Hands down the best coffee in Cambridge imo. read more

Stopped in for coffee/tea/hot chocolate. It was a nice cafe and they had a good variety of coffees and some plantbased milks. We ordered on line and pickup was pretty easy. My partner got a sandwich which he said was pretty mediocre. Would recommend for drinks for sure! read more

It's tough to dwell at Dwelltime because you're wasting time waiting for a seat instead of relaxing; it's not like this is a cramped space, quite the opposite, but it seems all my neighbors are in on the secret. I'm always inclined towards anything lavender, but that little dollop of strawberry jam atop a rosemary scone just sealed the deal. Next time, lemon lavender, you're all mine (if I can find an open table, that is.) Iced coffee is freakishly caffeinated...I'm talkin' enough to take down a bull. I had a cup at 11AM. At 4PM, I'm twitchin' & my heart's racing. I couldn't sleep til 6AM that morning. But, you know what? It's so damn delicious, I risk my health to have it again. A fan of Dwelltime, that I am. The coffee, pastries and sandwiches are on par with the best coffee, pastries and sandwiches the North East has to offer. But the staff... ohh the staff... probably some of the worst the North East has to offer (mind a small minority of them are good). The atmosphere usually pretty cool, lots of people come here to get work done. Although sometimes certain staff take over the playlist and cause everyone to either put headphones or ear plugs in or just leave. Umm. So perplexed. Such potential. But consistently disappointed. Weekday mornings: no breakfast/egg options served beyond a quiche. Really? I see the kitchen, it just needs to open. Saturday mornings: Don't open until 8. Wait until 8:00... then the kitchen doesn't open until 9:00. Are you kidding me? The decor is cool, the space is awesome, yet has an unfinished feel, like they ran out of money or interest to finish. The shelves are partially empty of product adding to the haven't finished yet feel. Owners: walk into Nero and take In the creative finishing touches. Even the front window looks unfinished. Espresso is only ok, and there's no cream available to mask the bitterness (in all senses of the word ;-). Pastries seem nice enough, and the counter workers are sort of friendly. Ambience is stark. Ok, stark-ish, though the space is actually quite cool in a retro way--high ceilings and a great storefront. On the up side, they do accept LevelUp, which gave me the extra push to try the place out. After a few visits, I'm a little disappointed that I can find no compelling reason for me to come here from the other side of Harvard Square. This place sucks. Went in there and per the other reviews, the 2 staff there seemed almost entirely indifferent to me showing up. I got a murmur of a greeting from the cashier who looked like she was about to fall asleep. I ordered a double espresso and waited around like an idiot for 15 minutes as they processed other orders. There was a point where the 2 staff were literally just messing around on their phones without my double-shot having arrived. I asked about my double espresso, and apparently their system wasn't working or something so she didn't see the order. Again, 2 staff, and literally 2 other customers in this place. Way to be completely oblivious. So she starts working on it. She lets me know it's ready and it's clearly a single (not double) shot...Whatever, I don't care at this point. The actual espresso was horrid - it was the worst shot I've ever had. Once I got past the crema, all I tasted was sour/bitter/burning. Just awful. This place screams "new wave hipster coffee" but can't even get the temperature right on an espresso. Just the worst. The previous occupant, Volt coffee (or whatever it was called) was so much better. I can't see Barismo lasting long with shitty staff and shitty espresso, let alone the fact that they are across the street from Tatte. read more

They can't be bothered with anything, from smiling or saying hello, answering the phone, or actually staying open as per their listed hours. I was just there at 2:51,and the place was shut closed. Best coffee by far in the greater Boston area, second only to Barismo, but that's okay since its owned by the same guys and Dwelltime brews Barismo beans! :) Their freshly homemade pastries are delicious and made fresh every day. The coffee is the best and this place would be considered a great coffee shop also in down town Rome, which is where I lived for many years! They also have a great selection of soups, sandwiches and salads which are great for a healthy and light meal. The place is also charming and the staff is extremely knowledgeable and courteous. read more

Mofo in the back whipping up the fire breakfast taquitos. Pastries on point with the complex flavors - had the rosemary/pear turnover this morning. Everything I have gotten at barismo has been great! I like their egg sandwich (egg, avocado, ogau sauce, and roasted veg on focaccia, comes with a side salad) a lot, and their coffee and tea selection is great. I bought a bag of one of their teas a couple of months into the pandemic because I was going out of my way to stop by the store to get it so often. They have vegan friendly pastries and a great food menu. Highly recommend. read more

You'd think that a cafe with the audacity to call regular hot coffee 'hot draft' coffee they would at least have something to back it. As in "Yeah the call it hot draft, but it's actually really good, so I'll let it slide." But, nope. It's more like "This hot draft coffee tastes like day old Dunkin Donuts coffee." It is throughly annoying. You'd think they'd have more to back up that amount of pretension. That being said, it's a beautiful space with a good atmosphere. I'm not much for coffee so I got a hot chocolate and that was amazing as well. It was super chocolatey without being chalky.
