Consultation told me that the prescription was for a $200 drug that I could alternatively get off the shelf. Why didn't pickup just tell me that instead of "we're waiting for more info from the doctor"? Because there was a long line. While it's bad enough falsely blaming the doctor to shorten the line, by sending me to another booth, I ended up making two more lines longer! So they used me to make their problem worse. Youch; it's sad when the operational inefficiency is more off-putting than bad customer service.

I let them know that I needed to start it ASAP and they reluctantly helped me. They were clearly rushing and refused another customer after me even though they weren't technically closed yet. They even gave me a hard time about applying my insurance to it so I could afford it.. While I can somewhat understand the situation, it should be stated that you must show up however much time beforehand for pick up or the workers should be given a grace period instead of having to be closed down by "closing time". It completely inappropriate to make customers feel this way. Just today, my boyfriend picked up a new medication for me that I've never taken. Nobody explained how to use the medication or what to do, yet he was told you click a button that said they did explain it. California law states that they have to explain each new medication to you, even if you don't ask.. And this is definitely not the only time this has happened.

There was a 50% coupon available, but instead of simply helping me, the manager, Surendra, insisted that I cancel my order, re-upload all of my photos on the store kiosk, and submit a completely new order. The entire process took almost 30 minutes. I was there with my baby in a stroller, who woke up crying, and instead of trying to make the situation easier, there was no empathy at all. To make matters worse, the store's Wi-Fi wasn't working properly, so the photos were taking a long time to upload. When I mentioned it, Surendra told me to go outside because the upload would be faster there. So I had to stand outside with my crying baby just to upload my photos. Communication was difficult, and when I asked why he wasn't helping me, he repeatedly said, "I'm helping you," then simply walked away while I was still speaking to him. I understand that employees have to follow store policies, but customer service is about more than just policies it's about treating customers with patience, respect, and compassion. This experience was unnecessarily stressful, and I left feeling completely dismissed. I hope Walgreens provides better customer service and support in the future.

I waited six minutes in line patiently (one person ahead of me) while she slowly rang up an elderly lady, which is just fine with me, because not every store can be staffed to help all customers at all times. This is a hard job, and I understand that these employees have to deal with rude customers all day. I finally handed my item to the cashier with a smile. The cashier's first action was to berate me for not using the self-checkout. When I started to explain that I got in line because one self-checkout was broken and the other was being used, she interrupted and dismissed me with a wave of her hand, berating me (again) for bringing her a pair of sunglasses (the only pair that fit me!) which had a barcode that wasn't working in her scanner. All this time, she's criticizing a young kid who's working behind her. She refused to help me, refused to let me explain why I couldn't simply bring up a different item which might have a different price. I don't work at CVS. I don't know what to look for. She never wears a name tag, always keeps a mask on to avoid being identified, and when I politely asked for her name so I could file a complaint, she snapped, "Why do you need my name?" then shouted "Next!" and blatantly ignored me. It's genuinely upsetting that someone with such an attitude is allowed to work in a pharmacy ,a place where people come in vulnerable, in need of care, and deserve kindness. I told her no problem and I would come back and get the shot with my card. She then proceeded to explain to me that it was no longer free/paid for by the government and I would need to pay or show my insurance. I agreed and said I would come back. She went on repeating herself slower and louder, as if I had trouble understanding her. Today, I made an appt online, showed up with my insurance card and vaccination cards. Another pharm tech could not find my appt and asked me to check my email and SMS accounts. I tried but both the wifi and wireless connectivity were not working. I told her that no problem I would come back later. She then told me that I should check my SMS text account. Again, I told her that the wifi and wireless connectivity were not working (no bar on wifi, and 1 bar on wireless on my iPhone). She told that i should open up my Messenger account to check. Again I showed her and told her that I couldn't connect and would come back later. I am not sure where these pharm techs get their customer service training but both experiences showed a distinct lack of listening skills and touch of condescension. Wonder whatever happened to customer service? I know that pharmacies get swamped but a bit of listening skills would have saved both of us a lot of frustration. It's odd, cuz I shop at this Safeway several times a week and have always received great service from the store, deli, butcher, produce, bakery, checkout, and management staff. The staff were nice as they usually are at that location, but the person behind the counter couldn't handle "How do I get the MRNA flu vaccine" or even "How much does it cost?" Then their POS software went into an infinite loop. I was going to make some purchases too, but ran right out of time and patience.
