It's pretty quick for the pharmacy to give call back. And the pharmacist is nice when you come pick up.

Longest pharmacy lines in Santa Clara county. CVS seems to take our business for granted. Painfully slow. Minute clinic here is the same.

The customer standing…read moreat the "working" self checkout was having problems with her purchase, but the cashier (brusque Indian woman in her 50s) rudely kept telling her repeatedly to "follow the instructions," although the customer was clearly confused. The cashier never helped her. I waited six minutes in line patiently (one person ahead of me) while she slowly rang up an elderly lady, which is just fine with me, because not every store can be staffed to help all customers at all times. This is a hard job, and I understand that these employees have to deal with rude customers all day. I finally handed my item to the cashier with a smile. The cashier's first action was to berate me for not using the self-checkout. When I started to explain that I got in line because one self-checkout was broken and the other was being used, she interrupted and dismissed me with a wave of her hand, berating me (again) for bringing her a pair of sunglasses (the only pair that fit me!) which had a barcode that wasn't working in her scanner. All this time, she's criticizing a young kid who's working behind her. She refused to help me, refused to let me explain why I couldn't simply bring up a different item which might have a different price. I don't work at CVS. I don't know what to look for. She just began fighting me on it, like it was the most natural thing in the world for her. I threw up my hands and walked out of the store without a purchase. Read some other reviews on this app. There's at least one talking about the same person, the same behavior. I don't care how long I have to wait in line. Like I said, I have compassion for stores that are understaffed and under-trained. I also have endless patience for this kind of thing usually. If anything, I'm the person wanting to make someone's day better if they're having a bad one. But this cashier was needlessly antagonistic, not just to me but to every customer and employee around me, creating an atmosphere and experience so unpleasant that now I'm logging on to f***ing YELP to write you a novel about this CVS location and warn you off it.

The pharmacists here are generally kind, but unfortunately, there's a very, very rude Indian lady…read morewho works both at the front and in the pharmacy as a technician. Her behavior is completely unacceptable. She's consistently rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. She never wears a name tag, always keeps a mask on to avoid being identified, and when I politely asked for her name so I could file a complaint, she snapped, "Why do you need my name?" then shouted "Next!" and blatantly ignored me. It's genuinely upsetting that someone with such an attitude is allowed to work in a pharmacy ,a place where people come in vulnerable, in need of care, and deserve kindness. It's disappointing and frankly alarming that this type of behavior is tolerated in a healthcare setting.

The Santa Clara Medical Center has so many different pharmacies, but I use this one (dept 138)…read moreregularly because it's the only one at this hospital that is open 24 hours including holidays, and the flexibility works well with my busy schedule. It's been dependable for the many years I've used it. I came by this past Thursday to order same-day prescription refills after my mail-in order failed to arrive on time (I had run out, and couldn't wait another day for my delayed items). They were understanding toward my circumstance, and the pharmacy worker resolved my issue without giving me a hard time. I was really grateful for this. By the way, I think Kaiser pharmacies in general have faster and more efficient service than drugstores like Walgreens or CVS, not to mention the option to have meds conveniently delivered to your home at no extra cost. But if you need to pick up from an actual pharmacy, this one in Santa Clara is a good option, with friendly and professional staff, and an easy process. Every once in a while, there's a long wait (for instance, 30 minutes on my most recent visit), but on most days wait times are reasonable. I don't expect perfection, but when it comes to our health and well-being (especially when facing chronic conditions or the like), having a reliable pharmacy like this to turn to is invaluable.

Lol it seems like everything's gone up! Lol. Along with my one stop shop, I liked how they had all these California/state items you could buy and pretend you traveled everywhere. Granted you're just in Santa Clara, California. Lol I thought it was ironically funny since I was in Hollywood two weeks ago and they sold all the same items at numerous stores on Hollywood Boulevard. Lol. This particular CVS was pretty clean granted there's some homeless people living in their parking lot. They only have self checkout so the poor lady in front of me was having trouble getting her items to scan, but a cashier came to help her. I really hate how people are losing jobs too computers like self checkout stands. I'd rather talk to a real person not a robot. But that's just me. Hee

There are always a number of people in the background, doing not sure what but only a couple of people helping with the pickup. When there is a long line and there is one every time, no one opens up another counter to help. I dread going here because I feel like years of my life are wasting away, standing in line. Any of the above would be bearing if the people working there were efficient or even great to deal with. I left a message at one time and their answering message says that they will call back within a period of time, I waited almost a day before calling them again and when I asked about the timing, the pharmacist said, with heavy attitude, that she had called me back and my inbox was full and she could not leave a message, I have 5 messages in my inbox! There are 2 lines to form to pick up prescriptions, one regular and a fast land for mobile check in. The last time I was there, standing in the regular line and it took the person in front of me over 20 minutes to pick up her prescriptions! The person helping her would walk off, find something, it was wrong and she would go start that all over again or she was not able to find the prescriptions! She didn't ask for help, just kept walking around the tiny space trying to find the poor women's prescriptions. The fast lane was open, with no one in line, and I went there to pick up my prescription and the person helping, she was one of the pharmacists said that this is a fast land and I had to go back to the regular lane, there was no one in that lane!!!!! There are signs posted asking people to be kind to the pharmacy staff - probably because they are so inefficient and rude that people get frustrated It's too bad that there are not many other choices. I wish I could take my business elsewhere!

It makes shopping difficult, because I always have to track down multiple employees to do my shopping. What I love? The employees! They're always pretty friendly no matter how understaffed they are. And I guage how much I like a new employee to their response when I ask if they know my childhood friend, Daniel. It's Daniel who makes shopping here the best: no fake small talk, no intention of fake customer service, just real, raw, wonderful interactions. What would make this place five stars? Honestly, the employees always do. But occasionally I watch certain policies enforced that make me cringe, so I'm fairly certain it's just tough for me to GENUINELY support a major corporation. I'm referring to the front register, not the pharmacy in the back (though I do often see lines and waiting there too). They only ever use one register at the front. If there's a slow customer in front of you, the workers do nothing to resolve the issue or expedite the transaction. And the employees just work slowly, talk slowly, move slowly, press buttons slowly, ask unnecessary questions, cause unnecessary delays... everything is just absurdly slow. This has not changed over the last decade. There can be just one person in front of you at this Walgreens, and it will still take longer than a line of 10 times that many customers elsewhere. I came on Tuesday afternoon to pick up some cold medicine cuz I was feeling under the weather, and yep service is just as inefficient as always. I had planned to get my go-to DayQuil, but then I saw that Mucinex offers its own fast-max version of all-in-one liquid gels and opted to try that instead, so at least they had a variety available to choose from. Still, I only come here when I urgently need something (since it's closeby to where I work). I would avoid this store at all costs otherwise.

What bothered me most was how an elderly gentleman in front of me was treated. Aishwarya rushed him and allowed other people to go ahead, even though he had been waiting longer than all of us. It made him visibly uncomfortable. I told her that, in my culture, we respect our elders, and I chose to let him proceed before me. Because of the lack of organization, two people who arrived after me ended up going ahead of me as well, which made the situation even more frustrating and unfair for everyone waiting. When I asked Aishwarya for her name, she refused to provide it and even covered her name tag. This is unprofessional--especially since employees are expected to wear name tags for identification and accountability. I asked to speak with a manager, and Maria came to the front, but unfortunately the disorganization continued. My biggest concern is the treatment of the elderly. No one--especially elders--should be rushed, made uncomfortable, or skipped in line when they've been waiting patiently. This experience felt very unprofessional, and I would appreciate better organization and more respectful customer service in the future.
