Worst lunch I've had in a while. I got the Thai Salad with "soy glazed" veggies (an extra $7.50). The veggies had no soy glaze. They were just regular roasted veggies, half of which were TOTALLY undercooked. Pretty sure there were raw potatoes in there? But I can't really say what the things were that looked and crunched like raw potatoes. Gross. The lettuce was stringy. The dressing was meh. Very disappointed. This place is totally overrated. My friend's meal was even more disgusting. She got the steak sandwich and the bread was overloaded with garlic and burned her tongue. The steak was super chewy and all of it tried to pull out of the sandwich with each of the two bites that she took before giving up completely. Never going back. Barf. UPDATE: My order was a part of a larger order for our whole office. I have since asked everyone else in my office what they thought of their meal. The news wasn't good. 3 people ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, 3 people received bottom bun soup in the box and had to eat just the chicken with a fork and knife. This restaurant had a different location the first time I was taken here by locals, when asked when I definately needed to eat during my week work stay. I ate there 3x that week and did the same thing the following year. The food is clean and simple and highlights the ingredients own flavors to show off the dish. Great beverage/tap options as well. After 6 years, in town for a meet, and everything is as delicious as I remember. I could eat here 5x a week. So much variety, a staff that wants you to have a good experience. The raw ingredients are the freshest and flavor full. Even the raw carrots chunks on the kid veggie dish were the sweetest carrots I've eaten. I brought my family here this time because this seems like the most family/friend place in town. I've always remembered the comfortable seating options here as well. When you arrive at Jackson's Corner, you order at the register and then pick an open seat. They have a diverse menu of meals and to-go items. You can also skip to a separate line if only ordering from the cafe and pastry case. I could tell this place was popular when the line doubled around 9:30am on a Sunday morning. There is an outdoor patio area along with indoor seating. If you go on a busy morning expect a long wait for your meal. My meal took about 40 minutes to arrive, but the drinks come out much sooner. The kitchen can be viewed from the register which was a nice touch to see the culinary team. The Junkin menu item was a great and light meal with the eggs cooked perfectly to my order. read more

Great spot hidden in town. They have a nice little happy hour and great food after as well. We had the pizza and would come back for it again as the flavor was phenomenal. Nutshell: Amazing food, amazing natural wines, great vibe. When we first came to Jackson corner, I was slightly turned off by the wait in line, order at the counter situation they have here but after eating brunch, everything was just so great, it didn't bother me as much. I will say, they probably saved us some money since we weren't really able to just keep ordering drinks. Which could definitely be seen as a negative though if you're just trying to hang and enjoy brunch. Also, it does get busy and the line gets long for ordering, which can also be a little annoying while eating dinner at the surrounding tables. They do have a separate line if you are there to purchase more store bought goodies since they do have a very simple little market as well. Brunch food was so great we came back another day for dinner. Pizzas were great. Especially with a shared bottle of wine from las Jaras. Hot olives were good too! A very hearty and tasty, fat, juicy burger patty made with farm fresh organic, 100% grass fed beef from Rainshadow organic farm. We visited this farm in Sisters just a few days ago. Makes me that much satisfied when I take a bite of quality beef with special aioli sauce, grilled onions and cheese on a fresh bun. Sounds simple, but simply a delicious BLT substituting the heirloom tomato for pickled veggies - my wife did enjoy! Lots of outdoor seating so I consider it a safe place to dine and maintain social distancing. Tables placed apart inside as well! Messi owned the joint. So, we bit the recommendations and went to see what the fuss was all about. Logically, it gets its name Jackson's Corner b/c it's on the corner of a residentially Zoned corner street (no brained). But I'm not sure which employee was Jackson. It would have been neato to ask how one gets a street corner named after him. Okay, sorry I digressed to irrelevance (like an Elon Musk business). Let's get back on track. Breakfast. Bend. Bring it. I had the Breaky Sammy (see pic). It was great. It was noticeably salty. But I like it like that. Worth $9? Sure. The Apple juice was the best I've had for years. As a child we owned apple trees. Not since we made our own apple juice from the backyard trees have I tasted a glass so purely organic. Order two glasses of this and toast yourself don make a good beverage choice. Your mouth deserves it. The staff is cool. Dressed like locals, no matching uniforms or awkward Hot Dog on a Stick hats, they blend in. It's a subtle, we're one of you. They were training a newbie and I liked how gracefully they did this. It's always great to see people getting new gigs. They hype is real. The food is clean and fresh. The service is respectful. The house transformed into a restaurant as effortlessly as one of Michael Bay's Transformers. You feel at home. Literally. It is clean, cozy, and cute. Yet, not by accident. Everything had its place and purpose. Everything was well thought out and planned. Possibly there was tweaking (not twirling, thank goodness) along the way. Jackson's Corner used to be our favorite spot in Bend. Everything was delicious! We loved the junkin, breakfast burrito, pizzas, and salads. Unfortunately since the sale of Jackson's corner, the quality of the food has declined significantly. It's so disappointing. The coffees and bread are still good, however. We were surprised to find this place tucked in the middle of a neighborhood...definitely didn't expect that. Parking on the street can be a bit tricky, but we managed to snag a space. We were there before 9 am, which we thought was pretty early but the queue was from the ordering counter to the door. The line kinda moved slow and it was a while till we got to order. We were told that the lox and some other item were not available. Between us we ordered plain and chocolate croissants for the kids, Boursin omelette for both of us and a monkey bread to share. The kids got their croissant immediately and they relished it. Our cappuccinos were good and didn't take too long to come. The monkey bread was something my kids hadn't tried before, and we all liked it more than a cinnamon bun kinda bread. Our omelettes took a while to come but it was fluffy & light on cheese omelette. My husband got his with a side salad and liked the salad a lot. Overall it was a good omelette but am not sure if it was worth the price tag of 17 bucks each. The next morning, we were heading out by 7 am so decided to pick up food on our way out, since it was quite close to where we were staying...unfortunately even though they were open at 7 am, their bakery stuff was not all available...as in they were still being baked. So with limited choice we picked up couple almond croissants and scones. The food and atmosphere is great! I've been to Jackson Corner several times; staff is friendly! But they need to work on bringing food out at the same time so your party can eat together. the last 4 times eating at the restaurant someone in our party gets there food 20 to 30 minutes after everyone else at the table. This last time attending first 2 plates came out then 20 min later 3 more plates then I was the chosen 1 this time to be forgotten after 45 min later I had to let them know I didn't receive my meal. Mine was the easiest one to prepare Thai salad green, grilled chicken Breast And peanuts. I've gotten this several times. I only got 4 pieces of meat and it was cold. Usually it's warm. This was My first time saying something to the waitress after having it happen 3 others times in the last 4 weeks. The excuse was we are busy! we got At the restaurant at 5:20 it wasn't busy when we arrived. I almost cancelled my order because everyone at the table finished their food. it's just an awkward feeling going out to eat with friends and family and having to be the Lone Ranger eating alone! This is one of the best places in Bend for breakfast, coffee, pastry and brunch (also dinner). Service was polite and welcoming. I had mouthfuls of cinnamon rolls iced in a sweet glaze, chomped on a fruit scone that was both crispy on the edges with soft density in between jewels of candied ginger, cubed pineapple, topped with a fruit drizzle. The lavender coffee awakened my very soul, perfect preparation with the froth and milk balanced in syrup and ice. The espresso permeating like a submarine rising to the surface. Yes it's so good I came back the next day for brunch. The savory dishes had Brussels sprouts seared but still tender, one of the highlights is watching the open kitchen as the chefs prepare a steak sandwich. It's like watching ballet. Eyes becoming fixated on the sounds of bread rolled in butter then charred, the arrangement of steak the sizzle and aroma is dreamy. But I didn't get that far with the steak sandwich. After the sale of Jackson's corner I hoped the quality of the food would stay the same. Unfortunately the execution has dipped significantly. The fried chicken was dry and under seasoned, Thai steak salad was cooked well done and the quality of the salad mix wasn't as good, ox tail ragu was bland / under seasoned. The preparation of the food was mediocre and the flavor is lacking. The service, ambiance, and bread is still great. Hopefully they can get a Chef on board who can improve the quality and consistency of the food that they put out. The biggest downfalls in Bend kitchens is when cooks are allowed to prepare food without a chef helping guide and keep quality and consistency high. read more

Oh Jackson's Corner. What happened to you? My kids and I had dinner on a pretty quiet Tuesday. Ordered the pasta which was tasty. The Thai salad was awful. All the usual nice touches were not there. Mostly lettuce. Three radish slices. Lots of peanuts. Drenched in dressing. For $19. The chicken dinner $34. The fried chicken was pale and the crust tasteless. The potato salad was good. The corn bread was ok. It had this dried cheese on top. My teenage son devoured the food because he was hungry and will pretty much eat anything. My daughter and I shared the pasta. Which was very small portion. We couldn't eat the salad. It was all dressing. All this for $70. We did not order drinks. I used to love JC. Jackson's Corner NOW charging a boxing fee for takeout! Representing an embarrassing lack of customer service understanding, Jackson's Corner now has a misguided policy to charge customers an additional "takeout boxing" fee of $2. This fee is something new and controversial as I've already heard complaints from three other friends who were ripped off with this hidden fee recently. Today I was told by the very unprofessional "manager" on duty at 11AM this morning that my takeout breakfast sandwich would be charged an additional amount for the "boxing." Nowhere in the establishment is this posted or on any menu. I've been a loyal customer for over ten years but will never set foot inside again after the unreal rude treatment. The first cashier even overcharged me for my item! What's next? Should customers be accosted with a surcharge for napkins? For toilet paper in the restrooms or the plate you eat your meal on?!! What about the general cost of doing business? I'm buying your food!! The "manager" told me that this new charge was "to help keep Jackson's Corner afloat," and that she was not removing the fee. If Jackson's Corner is in such a dire financial state that charging for an inexpensive 5-inch square box is required for solvency, then they're in more trouble than just upsetting customers. After two minutes of debate, she would not remove the fee and my solution was that I'd take the food on a napkin and leave with it. And that's exactly what I did, with zero effort to make the situation better, and I'm sure she tossed that box in the garbage as it already had food in it. Never again Jackson's Corner! So sorry to see your downfall and bad attitude. read more

Have been coming to this location since it was a true corner market and have watched it grow into Jackson's Corner, a now iconic local cafe' on the Westside. Short Answer: This is a YELP Yes kind of place ! Location: well positioned between Old Mill, Galveston, and Downtown but still a little hidden away if you're not a local. Parking: at times ridiculous and a bit dangerous as the narrow street allows parking on both sides which allows for just one lane of traffic in the middle. Fun to watch but not experience if you have a large vehicle. Ride your bike. Ambiance: Excellent Bend locals decorations... nothing fake or fancy just fun. Menu: Aside from a great coffee bar, the food menu is pretty simple good with breakfast and lunch items and adult beverages. They stay open until 9 pm so pizza and other special rule the day into the night. Food: Seems to always be well prepped and plated. Taste is a bit on the heavy side, it tastes good but maybe not super healthy unless you spec it out. There are GF and vegan options. Value: excellent, we enjoy warners days sitting outside and taking our time ordering and enjoying our meal without ever feeling rushed. Get there at off peak times and you'll have a great time, otherwise enjoy staying in a line and waiting for a table which is okay if you're into the community kind of thing, be nice share your table and talk to a stranger. I ordered the Junkin which was two fried eggs over a bed of local roasted veggies, topped with microgreens, and served with a slice of their house made bread. My brother got the huevos racheros and was advocating hard for everyone to try a bite because he was so obsessed. My mom got the eggs in purgatorio which was baked mushroom polenta, a braised tomato sauce, sous vide eggs, served with a pile of herbs... soo good! My dad for the breaky Sammy (not pictured) which he said was really great! And for the table we shared the French toast beignets, which were 10/10! When we opened the soup later that day both small single serve containers were only about half full . For $7 each! The Chicken and Bean soup had a very strange flavor. This used to be my go to every time I go to Bend. Admittedly, I haven't been there in about three years but was really looking forward to going this past weekend for some much needed RnR. In the Before Times, I used to eat here a couple few times a month, every time we came down from Portland. It was always super friendly, the food was excellent, the drinks were always great and the service was The Bomb. We came in for Brunch on Sunday last weekend. Ordered a couple of Bloody Marys and some BLT's, one of which had GF bread. The Bloody Marys were literally just Vodka and tomato juice, no garnish, nothing that makes a Bloody Mary a Bloody Mary. Total for two BM's...$32. When the sandwiches came, the GF one's bread immediately disintegrated and I ended up eating it with a fork and couldn't eat the bread, which was dry and crumbled into crumbs. Barely any mayo on both of them and the tomato was cut a half inch thick and was not ripe. The only good thing was the extra side of bacon, which was perfect. The service was curt and seemed like they didn't care if we were there or not. A far cry from what it was, every single time we used to go. The total bill with tip, $80.00 for two BLT's and two glasses of tomato juice with two shots of vodka in them. $32 bucks for the worst "Bloody Mary" I have ever had. If the grub had been even remotely close to what it was, I wouldn't have a problem but this was terrible food, crap drinks and apathetic service. SUPER disappointed and will unfortunately not be back the next time I come down. It's a shame to see such a great location hit the bottom on the barrel. read more

Really cute place I love the space. I think this restaurant has a huge potential it just needs some tweaks. We waited in line for a good 25min to place our order. I think our total was around $80 which is a lot for an order at a counter type place. Unfortunately the food didn't make up for the wait. The blue salad was the best thing we ate and it was excellent. The delicate came in a cast iron skillet and was charred black on the skin side which made it very tough. Like eating plastic on some bites. There was also a stem chunk that I had to spit out. Not a big deal but like chomping down on a rock. I wouldn't order that again. The polenta looked amazing but was grainy and lacked flavor. It needed some acid or white wine and really needed salt. There were also hard black flakes in the sauce. Like they used a pan that had burned residue on bottom. The steak was probably the worst dish we got. It was seasoned well but dry and had several veins of tough silver skin running throughout. Not usual in a New York strip. I cut off what I could but we both still had to spit a couple pieces into a napkin. I think we just got the unlucky bad cut. The bread looked amazing but didn't get bread with any of our dishes. Not sure it comes with any but would've been nice to get at least once slice. I think the salads shine at this place and I was kicking myself for not ordering the fried chicken. It looked amazing sitting at another table. read more

Great spot for pizza! Two of us split a pizza, a side of potato wedges and a side of roasted vegetables which was the perfect amount of food for two. We got the pizza as half honey pie and half sausage and mushroom. Both were delicious! The roasted veggies and potato wedges were straightforward and good. I really appreciate their incredible customer service - the wait for our food was longer than expected so they apologized for the wait and gave us a gift card which I found really thoughtful and impressive. They also brought some free homemade bread which was delicious - I would order their side of bread next time! Jackson's Corner is a must go to place if you are in Bend, Oregon. It sits on a cute little corner and is a happening spot. We went for brunch and it did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the breakfast burrito, a turkey sandwich, side potatoes, a coffee and a beer. The breakfast burrito was one of the best burritos I have ever had! The eggs and bacon were cooked to perfection and with a little sour cream, absolutely YUM. It addition to this, I ordered a hazy IPA which came from Sunriver Brewing Co. It was also one of the best hazys I have ever had. Furthermore, the service was top notch! The women running the hostess station and running all around are awesome! Cute little spot to grab breakfast or coffee at. We came around 10 and it was pretty busy. They have a lot of room for seating and a bunch of communal tables which we did not mind. We ordered the biscuits and gravy sharing size and the meatloaf. We also ordered a chai and latte which were both extremely delicious. The sharing size of the biscuits and gravy is a massive portion. The gravy was so flavorful and had bits of sausage throughout it. I really liked the biscuits as they were crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. The meatloaf was definitely interesting but very good. It was topped with some sweet jam. It came with a side of bread which was from Jackson's bakery which was very fresh and delicious. This was a wonderful find. I'm so glad I tried it out. The food was wonderful, the service was stellar, and the place was quaint and cozy. I'm not sure what I loved most about this joint. The location is seemingly in a residential area, but given the kitschy household decor, it still somehow manages to blend in seamlessly. I dug on the look and feel of the place. Sure, it doubled as a store, but it was so nonchalant about it, you almost don't notice. The process is simple: you pick up a menu. look it over, order, pay, then take a number to your seat. It's pretty straightforward, and it saves time overall. We had our meals fairly quickly, albeit not in the order they were placed (which was weird). I had the rigatoni with ragu, and let me tell you... it was soul food in Italian form. The noodles were spot on, but the sauce was heavenly. A rich, but balanced meat based sauce with tomato flavoring (because I would not describe this as a tomato sauce... that would be an insult to the meat) draped lovingly over the dish. Long strips of sharp, tangy parmesan accented the dish perfectly, and an authentic chunk of real sourdough completed the scene. Luscious. I would order this again in a heartbeat. It was large enough for two meals, and the leftovers were just as satisfying. They have a great selection of local craft beers and ciders, and their service was friendly and helpful.
