I like Jack's Donuts. This little location is tucked away in a strip mall behind another store. They were very busy when I went in so I had to wait a few minutes to get my donuts. I ended up ordering a cup of coffee and two donuts. I had the Biscoff donut and the Oreo donut. The donuts were way more sugar than I needed but they were delicious! I just had the regular coffee with cream but it was nice and hot and also self-serve. I have stopped at this location many times as I used to work near here. They have a pretty good selection of donuts. read more

The staff is super down-home friendly at this franchised location of Jack's Donuts. Jack's originated in Greencastle, Indiana in 1961. The Greenfield location is tucked inside of a strip mall on State Road 9. I stopped by midweek with my husband to indulge in a donut. The cases were full of perfectly iced or glazed donuts. The shop is cute and cozy inside with a few tables and some comfy seating. Any donut is $2 or a dozen for $22. The clerk is friendly and offers a few recommendations. I snag a blueberry, which is soft and melts in my mouth. My husband had Bavarian Cream filled donut, which is popular with the locals. He loved his donut. My favorite donut place in Greenfield! The staff is very friendly every morning that I come in, the donuts are excellent and the coffee is fantastic. Ok, here's the scoop on Jack's: the donuts are solid, there's always plenty to choose from, the price is reasonable, and the employees are friendly. What more can you ask for from a donut shop?? First of all, parking is a breeze, meaning you can easily walk in, pajamas and all, without having to trudge a great distance for your sugary treats. Employees greet you almost the instant you enter the door, which always makes me feel great. Who doesn't like to feel special, am I right? Jack's selection is abundant, meaning you're sure to find what you're looking for. One of the big draws for me is that they still make apple fritters (a lot of shops have abandoned these delicious pieces of heaven, because they're so labor intensive). Prices are comparable with similar shops and the donuts are consistently fresh. Rude staff... one visit I purchased a soda and when I tried to drink it it was expired and gross. Expired by a couple months, not recently. It was a long time until I visited again and I tried to get another soda. I noticed they were expired AGAIN, and I tried to politely say that the soda was expired. She snaps back at me "I know! I went to Jack's this morning to purchase donuts for family members that are packing items from a deceased loved one's home. The woman who took my order was rude. She was the youngest of the three women working but definitely not a young girl. She asked if I wanted a box or a bag, as if I was putting her out. She had difficulty understanding my request for plain iced cake donuts. After adding the rest of my order to the box. I asked her for one additional item in a sack. The sack was not folded over at the top. She crumpled the bag at the top as well as the sides. Once I paid for my items, I requested a new sack(as I didn't want to drop off the sweets in a tattered sack)she literally threw the new bag across the counter and gave me an eye-roll. I placed the item in the fresh bag while she walked away. No greeting, no thank you, just rude!! The other two ladies working were noticeably well mannered and appropriate. The facility is clean and nice in appearance except for the cult of Jehovah Witnesses outside the store with a stand of their literature. I like Jack's Donuts because it's a back to basics kind of donuts place. You walk into the place, look at the display cases, and pick what you want. They have different styles and flavors at a reasonable price, so you don't break the bank. They have late hours, which I like. However, I'm unsure how much product is available at any give time. A few times I've visited on a late afternoon, and the choices have been somewhat limited due to the cases being half empty. The quality of the options I've had has been great. As a huge donut lover, this place is GREAT! I walked in and instantly felt welcome. Scott was the person that helped and answered all of my questions with a smile and enthusiasm. I also met the owners Ron & Shawn, and they were amazing! The donuts were hot and fresh! There is even a cool glass window in the back of the store where you can get a behind the scenes look at the kitchen. The overall ambience was fantastic with plenty of chairs to hang out and a tv to watch. I have nothing bad to say about my experience so this was an easy 5 star rating! I was all prepared to excuse the lack of variety available at this Greenfield location of the four-location Hoosier chain of Jack's Donuts until, that is, I came home and looked up their restaurant and realized that they are open until Midnight on Saturdays and my late afternoon arrival time should have found a much more decent selection than it did. In Greenfield for a meeting, I decided to try out Jack's before heading to another place to enjoy dinner. Jack's Donuts is located in a pretty run down strip center, but the shop itself is simply yet cutely decorated with a fairly basic display along with a few small tables for those wishing to dine in. The vast majority of their donuts run $1.00 each or $11 for a dozen, though what they call "gourmet donuts" are ever so slightly higher in price. They offer, according to their website, a pretty decent variety of donuts ranging from your familiars, like yeast and cake and various iced donuts, to their more experimental fare like Oreo, Peanut Butter & Jelly, and others. As I noted, the selection upon my arrival was pretty basic with a handful of gourmet types that looked unappealing to my fairly basic tastes and a couple of cinnamon buns. I chose a couple cinnamon buns to go. A few observations should be noted. First, Jack's prides itself on "great customer service" and, indeed, that was the primary positive to the visit. The young woman working the counter did answer a phone call while talking to me, a slight faux pas but an understandable one given that I was still deciding. She compensated greatly for this by offering friendly, warm service once the call was ended and by opening the shop's door as I was leaving. I won't quite say it was "above and beyond," but it was good service. The cinnamon buns? What can I say? They were disappointing. They were very yeasty in flavor (I swear "yeasty" is a word) and the texture was far too dense. Truthfully, I didn't even finish the second one because it was just unappealing. While it's always true that donuts are better when served hot, if you're going to keep your location open until Midnight then you need to keep your product reasonably fresh until Midnight. This tasted like it had been around awhile. The shop itself was cute, but not particularly well kept. There were a couple of customers in-house, but the tables just looked disheveled and untidy. I never considered staying there and eating, primarily because it just felt uncomfortable. While I've heard very little about this location of Jack's, I've heard fairly good things about the chain's Carmel location. They also have locations in New Castle (the original) and Fishers. The original incarnation of Jack's started around 1961 and they do have a rewards club they call "Dough-Nutz." If I were rating Jack's solely on the basis of their donuts, I'd be going with a 2-star rating. However, solid customer service is worth recognizing and a decent atmosphere allows me to bump this up a star to three-star rating. Jack's is certainly not a destination donut shop, though I might stop in again earlier in the day to see how the donuts fare when they are fresher. In terms of wheelchair access, Jack's is pretty workable. The strip center has several curb cuts and the glass door is pretty easy to maneuver. The employee this afternoon was quite friendly and I'm sure if she'd seen me struggle with the door she'd have been right there helping. read more

Jack's Donuts is a good place to go when you are in a hurry and want donuts. They are really busy on holidays but their service is great even when its one person working the counter. Once I went there with my family and grandparents. It was really busy and not many donuts left. As soon as we walked up to the counter they were already restocking their donuts. This was our first visit to the new Jacks Donuts. Upon walking in, I noticed how nice it was inside. Very nice decor, and a pretty display case. I'm a glazed yeast guy, and was dissapointed that there were none to be had. I settled for a cream cheese-filled strawberry donut that was actually very tasty. My wife got a toasted coconut-topped donut she really enjoyed. Overall, seems like a solid donut place. I'll have to try a regular yeast from here to truly be able to form an opinion. read more

Most donuts looks verrrry tasty and very appealing buuuut...all taste verrrrry close the same as if the only flavor that exist is sugar. The "chocolate" does not taste like chocolate like a dunkin donuts doughnut nor a krispie kreme doughnut....it tastes like straight sugar that's been drenched with food coloring. I've tried many types of Jack's Doughnuts but they all taste practically the same. Some positives though....the freshness is amazing. I really like to support local businesses, but I just cannot give this place any more than 2 stars. I have been there a handful of times. I have received poor customer service. Overall, it seems like sometimes the donuts taste great while at other times they taste stale. It just depends on the date and time you go.
