This little local donut shop is filled with delicious sweetness and has been serving donuts since 1981. We stopped in after seeing great reviews on Yelp. A friendly clerk greeted us and walked us through all the options. Prices are great with most donuts under $2. I had the crowd favorite, a glazed yeast donut. The donut melted in my mouth. My husband had a cinnamon pecan roll, which he devoured like a little kid. The dining area is filled with tables and donut art. The place is not upscale but has a small town charm. This place closes at noon, so if you have free time during the day, be sure to stop here first before heading off to run your other errands. My wife and I made it just before closing and we were really glad we did! The place has a kind of drab exterior, so unless you are really looking for it, it's easy to drive right by. Fortunately, we found it and pulled into their private lot. Inside, there is an order counter to the left and lots of seating to the right. We were greeted and though the inventory had been reduced, there were still plenty of donuts to choose from. My wife got a cherry turnover which she said was light and flaky on the outside, with cherries throughout the folded pastry. I ordered a Butterfly Roll that is a chocolate iced bismark made with layers covered with cocoa so that I got chocolate flavor in every bite. Really good! The cinnamon roll we split was fine. Unlike other places that smother them in icing, this was a smaller and thinner roll with a glaze. Nice flavor balance, but not what many expect who go to mass produced bakeries. The gal behind the counter was friendly and answered all our questions about the different donuts available. If you like donuts, this is worth checking out. Just wish I had tried the coffee. Moved to Columbus in 2015 and discovered this gem. By far the best donuts I've had in Indiana. I was born and raise in Indianapolis and you may hear people blabber on about Longs and blah blah blah, that's only out of nostalgia and or they are crowd followers. Longs donut are thick bread type donuts like you'd get from Kroger. This place has the best light are airy donuts you'll find. Get here early or you'll miss out. Better yet don't get here early so that I don't have to compete for their amazing Persian roll. Everything is fantastic here but as mentioned their Persian roll is unbelievably good. It has that old small mom and pop type small town feel and I love that about this place. read more

Ok, first-things-first, I (unfortunately) consider myself a donut aficionado. Having lived in several places in Louisiana for the last decade, I've had some great donut shops to pick from. However, Donuts N Coffee in Columbus (my hometown) is by far my favorite donut spot. There's just something about the "lightness" of their donuts (and I always remember those "lot less fillin' and a third less calorieeeeeeees) jingles from the 1980's). The icing is also fittingly lightly applied on several of the donut varieties. My favorites here are the glazed, the cake with orange icing, and the long johns with the chocolate, caramel, and vanilla icings. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, so I can't speak to that, but this spot takes #1 on my list for donuts. My only complaint is that, as a ma' and pa' store, it isn't open on Sunday--the laziest day of the week, and the day I'm most likely to get donuts. And, though I haven't been there I some time now, I do remember that they stopped making donuts at some point in the morning, meaning that those who came in after that could only choose from some seriously picked-over donuts. Here's the thing: I've never actually *been* to Donuts N Coffee, only tasted them as a gift from a coworker who commutes from Columbus and has, on his most generous days, graced us with boxes of treats. How he delivers these items immaculately without tearing through them during the drive is beyond my comprehension. The donuts are all delicious and light (..for a donut), with classic flavors executed to perfection. The muffins are oversized, but not like a bloated Starbucks confection. These muffins' heft is more loving: a donut equivalent of the Midwesternly citizen who's maybe packed on a few pounds over the years but carries it in such a way that it somehow enhances their appearance rather than detracts from it. These are the desserts who carry their weight so well, they can pass as breakfast. Not pretentious, not stale. They're all just right. read more

All of the donuts -- even at 10am -- were so tasty! They go fast** I had and orange and caramel cake donut as well as a vanilla long john. The orange and the vanilla were super tasty. The caramel wasn't anything special but still tasted nice. My sister loved the strawberry cake donut and the chocolate pecan roll. I would love it if they could have some vegan donut options but right now I don't think they do :( Coffee is nice and affordable. A quaint place for breakfast! read more

The drive through is nice at 5:30 in the morning. The long John I got was a $1.09 but was mini in size. The width and length was the size of a small hot dog bun. I took one bite and that was enough, I was not inspired to have another. Very disappointed. read more

These aren't just the best donuts in Columbus, they're the best in the country! If there were a National Donut Competition, this place would get my nomination. As visitors to Columbus we stopped in our first morning, and stopped by again on our way out - we would have had them each day if our bed and breakfast didn't include breakfast. We liked the twists, the cinnamon rolls, and the donut holes. We're still talking about it now... and have concluded that there's a bit of a unique chewiness to the dough, which makes it sooooo good.
