    Butterbeer Latte
    Kelly S.

This place was packed! The inside is small, but cozy and there are spaces to sit - the window bar seat looks to be the best because then you can look outside to see what's going on in downtown Franklin. I ordered a butterbeer latte, then noticed some winter menu flavors so I'm definitely going back for those. They serve Calvin Fletcher coffee (a coffee roaster/shop in downtown Indy) and that was nice to see local supporting local! My drink was warm, smooth and perfect for the extremely cold day.

Cute coffee/ bakeshop in Franklin, In. The space is small and cozy with good service. I ordered the lavender fields latte, iced. This latte was created using lavender, pistachio, vanilla, and oatmilk. It was smooth and creamy with light flavor.

Couldn't wait! Quiche! Tea and blueberry muffin(missing)!! Delicious!

The Bakehouse is 100% gluten free AND 100% FABULOUS! They offer soooo many food a They can be found right on the square - parking is free in the lot or on the street. Their staff are all friendly - personable - and kind.

Good place if you are looking for a cozy place to cool down or hang out when you are not in a rush. What impressed me the most is the decor and lighting. The yellow vintage bulbs with wooden tables and retro-indie wall decor makes you feel welcomed. Our server was kind but forgetful, and the service was not the fastest. Good pastries and coffee but not 5-star worthy in my opinion. Coffee is very tasty, but matcha can be watery. Peanut butter cookies were not maintained fresh although the flavor is good. Sugar pie is the best item I tried, I recommend!

I reviewed this place yesterday and it was so good we went again today. The best quiche ever. Creamy, you can taste the spinach. I'll be craving this for a while. Cute coffee shop vibe. Friendly service. Real plates and real silverware.

This is a 100% Gluten free bakery. Great vibes, great food and friendly service. I tried the blonde Cuban sandwich which was really good. Perfect size not overly filling. Also tried the sugar cream pie bite which was absolutely amazing. I didn't know if I was going to like it but boy was I surprised! It has a cinnamon flavor great crust and very smooth sugar cream on the inside. You must try this. They sell earrings, bracelets and some other boutique like items and local art. Pleasantly surprised by this place. I would recommend this place anyone who can and can't eat gluten. Lots of coffee and tea options.

    Wedding cake

1823 Bakehouse made our wedding cake! They were so lovely to work with and the cake was delicious! It was so fun to have the opportunity, as a gluten free individual, to still customize our cake and having something I knew would be safe to eat! They delivered the cake day of and it was an overall great experience. Plus, it was always fun to try new treats each time we went in!

I came as an out of town guest on a Saturday morning at 10am. Plenty of free parking out front and plenty of places to sit. Service was not quick, but I was not in a rush. Everything is gluten free and downright delicious. Between my friend and I, we tried the biscuits and gravy, cinnamon roll, and banana chocolate chip muffin. I recommend them all! They do have more than baked goods, so check them out for lunch or breakfast. They also have kombucha on tap with some delicious sounding flavors. Their restroom was clean and there were plenty of cute Knick knacks for sale. A cozy, fun shop!

My son and I stopped in for a quick treat while shopping. It was a great choice! We had the chocolate frosted brownie which was dairy free. It was so delicious. He had a juice box and I got an iced coffee with Carmel. It was a nice pick me up in the afternoon. The service was great and it was cute little shop.

Do you want to feel like you've fallen straight into an autumn time Hallmark movie? Well you're in luck because going to the 1823 Bakehouse will feel like that. So put on that cardigan, pull your cardigan closed, and stare into the distance while drinking a great cup of coffee! On a gorgeous fall day when just a few leaves were gently falling and blowing in the warm breeze I stumbled upon 1823 Bakehouse . I was in the area on business so I checked my Yelp app for the best lunch eats in Franklin. Luckily I found an open parking spot right in front of this coffeeshop. After lunch on the way back to the car I noticed this gorgeous little coffee shop and decided to pop in. I'm so glad I did! It's so cute! Like really really cute. I didn't catch the baristas name but she was so nice! They have coffee, lattes, smoothies, baked goods, quiche, sandwiches and more! I got a latte and a blueberry muffin which were equally delicious. There is also a store inside that has various eco friendly goods like soaps, detergents and shampoos. Love that! HIGHLY recommend 1823 Bakehouse. I will go out of my way for this place and will 100% be visiting in the future.

    Double chocolate muffin
    Joan R.

I ordered the double chocolate muffins because they told me they were vegan. I do not need to eat gluten free but these were hands down some of the best muffins I have ever tasted. I also ordered an oat milk latte which was very tasty. This is a nice spot right in downtown Franklin. Will definitely be back and bring family members who require gluten free food.

I have driven by this place many times and finally made time to stop with my kids. We came on a Wednesday morning and it wasn't busy at all, so we were able to park right in front of the building. The inside is clean and nicely decorated with lots of things for sale on shelves. We picked up some tea and stickers as gifts and will be back for other things eventually! The food was great! we got some kind of pumpkin roll cake, cinnamon roll muffin, and chocolate muffin. I even was able to grab a dairy free banana bread for a friend! We sat and ate at the window and watched the goings on around downtown. The woman working at the register was super helpful when helping me pick out a tea. Sweet little place and can't wait to go back!

Very kind staff in a home space. Would recommend if you're a tea lover especially! Didn't have any food but the desserts looked lovely.

And he said the menu will expand again soon. Since I was by myself and he had some time, he sat down and we chatted for awhile. The seating at both restaurants, and you can call them that now since they do not just sell drinks anymore, has been greatly expanded both indoors and outside. He also told me they are working on opening a Plainfield location. I ordered my usual The Slugger on a biscuit for my bread choice (4) with sausage for my meat choice (3) and provolone for my cheese choice (5). It was superb and just how I remembered it from the other location when I was eating breakfast there several days a week about a year ago. I also ordered one Biscuit & Gravy which was excellent as well. I love small local business establishments and cooking. They always have great service and a friendly atmosphere. I parked in the public parking lot across the street since it was a Saturday and street parking was full. The restroom was clean, well stocked and had a pleasant fragrance.
