Chocolate chip cookies was undercooked, greasy, and had almost no chocolate in it. Really yucky. On the other hand, the cinnamon roll was classic pure goodness and great flavor. I really wanted to try the coffee cake cookie as I have never seen that cookie flavor, but one cookie was enough. They should list the prices on the items in their display case. My mom and I needed a place to kill some time before the nearby art fair started, and this coffee shop was a great spot for that. It was spacious and there's a ton of cozy seating options, each still with a little side table, as well as several standard tables. I love that in a coffee shop. I ordered a vanilla latte and a bagel and my mom got a smoothie. All the baked goods looked delicious. While we enjoyed our visit, there were a few things that would have made it better. I didn't see the seasonal menu until after I ordered, because it seemed way of to the side. I wasn't given a plate or napkin for my bagel and it was a little hard to get someone's attention to ask where to find napkins (up by the register). It would've been great if they'd asked whether we wanted our items for here or to go. The restroom was out of toilet tissue, and when I tried to tell a staff member, they were wearing headphones so they couldn't hear me. I had to go find another to let them know. Staff was super friendly! Air conditioning, spartan seating, clean bathroom all good, but I LOVED that they had numerous quality iced tea options and the cupcakes were not only delish, but moist and with enough icing. I will be back next time I'm in Columbus! read more

My husband and I stopped by this afternoon on a whim. We got a molasses cookie for our kids and the oatmeal cream pie to share. The barista at the counter was very welcoming and super friendly. She told us everything was made in house. The bakery had a super warm, cozy vibe and if we wouldn't have been in a rush- would have totally enjoyed our treats there! Once we were home we dug into our oatmeal cream pie and it was FANTASTIC! Perfect hint of cinnamon in the soft, chewy cookies and the ratio of cream filling to cookie was on point. I like a coffee shop with a good bakery selection, and Gramz Bakery has many baked goods. I saw lots of flavors of muffins, pecan rolls, cinnamon rolls, scones, banana bread, cookies, cupcakes and lots more. I got a banana nut muffin and a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon rolls was just OK, but the banana nut muffin was stellar. It had a somewhat sticky toffee top, and the whole shebang was tender and ultra banana-y. I also got a cup of black coffee, and it, too, was stellar. It almost had a fruity, wine-like flavor. Kind of bizarre and unusual but in the best way. This bakery / coffee shop is located in downtown Columbus. Parking is on the street and around the corner in the neighborhoods. read more

*Update* My second visit was less than stellar. The young lady at the counter was not very friendly. I ordered another latte and it was not good in flavor and was half foam. She immediately went to the back so I couldn't find her to ask for it to be corrected. Disappointed in the inconsistency here... Wow, so thankful for the Yelp recommendation to come here while visiting the area. Located in the heart of downtown, this shop is so quaint upon walking in. It immediately felt very cozy. They offer a wide variety of fresh baked treats, coffee options, smoothies, kombucha, tea, and lemonade. I was immediately excited to see they offer pumpkin spice year round. While I was torn on that flavor for my latte or blueberry crumble, I went with pumpkin, since you rarely see that outside of the Fall. The owner explained how they make all of their own syrups, such as real pumpkin in this one. He said I should try the blueberry next time, which I am already looking forward to. He gave my friend a free shot of cold brew to see just how smooth their coffee is. He was immediately very impressed. I'm not surprised, my latte was amazing, by far the best coffee in town. The pricing was very reasonable, actually cheaper than you'll find most elsewhere. A large latte was only $4.25. I also ordered a peanut butter brownie, Samoa cheesecake bar, salted caramel bar, and a buckeye, which was only $9.60 total for all four. Such a great price! Everything was really good. The Samoa was my favorite, with melt in your mouth texture. My friend preferred the salted caramel bar, which was good with more of a cookie texture. We stopped here on a Friday morning and it was quite a popular spot! I had a blueberry scone but the standout winner was the bagel egg sandwich my boyfriend ordered. The bagel was so soft and doughy. A huge breakfast sandwich for a great price. Excellent espresso drinks as well, not too acidic or bitter. The staff was so friendly and made great recommendations. I absolutely love Gramz. If I were to have a "Cheers," Gramz would be my Cheers. I feel like I'm treated like family there and I love the many choices of drip coffee. If you like light, medium, dark, or flavored coffee, they have a coffee for you. There are also many different types of tea and a full espresso bar if lattes or cappuccinos are more your style. The seating varies from window front lounging to 4 top tables and longer, rough cut wood tables for larger groups. If you go in the morning, there are bagel and croissant breakfast sandwiches, bagels with cream cheese, and several other types of foods as well as cookies and pastries. Lunch is also available, however I haven't had an opportunity to try it yet, however what I have seen looks delicious! read more

Gramz is a place for coffee and pastry, but I will admit right now that I plan on returning to check more items like their coffee bar (14 flavors brewed every day) and their lunch options. Who knew? I went in because I got the impression it was a bakery and I wanted to pick up some pastries. I selected a pecan sticky bun (large portion) and a cinnamon roll (just as large, and comes without icing, but the server will ask if you want the icing. If so, it will be added right then.) They also have bagels and pies, cookies and brownies. Lots of tasty looking items for that sugar rush or when you just feel like splurging. I will say that both the items I picked up were a bit dry...enough that both my wife and I noticed it. However, since mine was a "to go" order, I nuked it for 20 seconds and that seemed to breathe life into the bun. I'm not sure if they reheat the items for you in the shop. So, stay tuned. Worth getting off of I65 and going downtown for. We had two chocolate cupcakes. Super moist and flavorful. Peanut butter frosting and chocolate on the other were just sweet enough. Had the PB frosted brownie. Not as good as the cupcake because not as chocolate-y, but still good. And I had the cupcake first... My son had the chocolate chip cookie. He makes Tollhouse cookies all the time and said this was just as good as his. Finally, the banana muffin was not to sweet, very banana-y, and moist. Cute downtown location. read more

Went to this local spot when another well-reviewed coffee shop nearby was so crowded and noisy that it did not meet my needs. Now, I am so glad. Gramz provided a well lit open space with a variety of seating. I asked the barista about espresso notes and she gave me a shot to try to see if I liked it! How sweet is that? I ordered another shot so that tells you what I thought. The espresso is dark, rich, full-bodied with chocolate notes. It touches your tongue with a bitter note swiftly followed by smoothness. I did not add anything to the espresso but did pair it with a caramel cookie bar. I specifcially asked for something with flavor but not overly sweet. This was a perfect recommendation. If I lived here, this would be my first choice of shop. Highly recommend. read more

This place is so cute! I've been here twice now and I love it. Last time I got soup. I think it was chicken and dumpling if I remember right. But I do remember that it was DELICIOUS. Today I got an Asiago bagel and it was delicious as well. I love their coffee too. My friend got a peanut butter brownie or something like that last time and I tried some of it and I almost died it was so good. I love the vibe in here. It's dim and relaxing and it's decorated so cute. Even the ceiling is cool. This is my second interaction with Gramz bakery. I live in Arizona but my parents live in Columbus. I ordered a cake for my mum's birthday in October and it surpassed all expectations. My father just had surgery and I called to ask for cookies to have delivered to his surgeon's office. The staff member who answered the phone was wonderful! First off, the smell upon walking into this little bakery is out of this world. The sign out front said "we have you covered for lunch and dinner" but the sandwiches were just boxed, from the catering company (Pieper's) down the street. So I went down the street for lunch and came back here for dessert! I was torn between the many delightful looking (and smelling) options. The cinnamon rolls and nut rolls were gazing at me from near the register, there were several pies in a refrigerated case, and also various brownies, bars, cookies, and scones. I ended up settling on the Oatmeal Carmelita...nuts, caramel, oatmeal, and chocolate chips. It was awesome! Really tasting with a nice balance of flavors, fresh soft texture. At $1.50 I felt I got a bargain. The guy who got my brownie for me was polite AND I was impressed that he seemed to know exactly what was in each dessert. When I asked if there was anything with coconut in it, he said they DID have chocolate coconut cupcakes, but were out...and then offered that I could call ahead to make sure they made whatever it was that I was after. I was told Gramz Bakery was a "must" in Columbus. Loving coffee and all things baked, I decided to check it out. I'll be honest, my first time there, I was underwhelmed. The coffee "machine," which amounted to a gas station cappuccino maker was out, so no coffee. The cinnamon role was adequate, but not extraordinary. Basically, a meh experience. A few weeks later, I returned to Gramz. To my delight, the terrible, malfunctioning coffee machine has been replaced with a bar top with eight different brewed coffees. AMAZING! I also went with the sticky pecan role and it was incredible. Gramz is making improvements, which are helping it keep stride with the evolving Columbus downtown. Take a minute, check it out.
