Nut topped persian.
Dave M.

No frills old school bakery. Always fresh, always delicious classic donuts. Don't expect any hipster creations. They are open until they sell out for the day. Personal fave is the nut topped persian.

Simple dining area

The donuts go fast at this locally owned, small town donut joint on Route 40, just west of Greenfield. The donuts are freshly made on site. The glazed yeast donuts are amazing and melt in your mouth so fast that you'll probably need two or three. The staff is friendly and eager to help. They know the regulars by name and bring their coffees out before they order. Prices are great. There is a drive thru or you can eat your donuts inside at one of their four tables. The shop is simple, not fancy or upscale. A must visit if you are in the area.

Some tables set up to eat at. Very comfortable home like feeling.

I heard all the rage about these being some of the best donuts, and the rumors were one hundred percent true! These donuts are absolutely delicious. And not only do they taste amazing, but the price is very affordable too! The workers were really kind, and took time telling me what they have for sale at the moment, and helped me decide which donuts to choose. They also did very well making it look comfortable, despite the small amount of space they have. I definitely recommend anyone to stop by and try out their donuts. Plenty to choose from, and all a really good price. Just make sure to show up as early as possible, they sell quick!

Donut Grow Up 1st Birthday Party, with the Sweet Shop donuts!

I love the Sweet Shop, it is locally owned and the bakery items are delicious! I've been a bunch of time and the donuts are always amazing! They are always so friendly. I ordered for my sons 1st birthday party, 4 dozen variety, and it was super easy to order and pick up. They even gave him a birthday donut to try, it was such a sweet gesture.

Got up early Sunday and decided to visit the Sweet Shop in our jammies before getting ready for church and the day. I always went my dad when I was a kid but I had forgotten the old entry door and tables until we visited Sunday! Wow! The memories came flooding back!!! They have an awesome area with tables where you can enjoy your doughnuts and coffee or whatnot. The grandson chose a chocolate yeast and yeast topped with chocolate icing. I chose doughnut holes and a few different doughnut for Pop Pop since he slept in. Well these early birds caught the worms and they were delicious!!! So soft and fresh and the grandson begged to go back after church. Of course they were closed by then but I promised him on his next overnight with us we will go again and eat at one of the tables. Thank you Sweet Shop for the past memories and new memories I'm building with my grandson!!!

Great soft donuts

We got a great welcome in a donut shop where everyone knows everyone. There is a big display case that is full of various donuts. We got a mix of two dozen donuts to take home. I highly recommend the lemon one. It was very soft with a sweet and sour lemon middle. The glazed cinnamon roll could use a little more cinnamon, but still had great soft flavor. Don't miss heading here for a donut.

From the top, glazed cake, butterfly, sprinkle, chocolate covered yeast, and LONG JOHNS

BEST DONUTS IN INDIANA! I've been coming to Sweet Shop since I was a kid. They do donuts right! Every donut is delicious. They're classic and have not lost any of their quality over the many years they've been open. I now live 30 min away and I still make the drive to get donuts here. My favorite donut is the filled chocolate long John. They're also very affordable compared to other donut shops. They're freshly made every day. You just can't beat them! Generation after generation have enjoyed Sweet Shop. I hope my kids bring their kids and so on.

The best time to eat the donuts is at 4am right when they open and they are all still hot from just being made over night.

All the cupcakes were moist, and a great flavor; too often when you visit bakeries they have frozen the cupcakes and I can always taste that. These were fresh! I love that they chose a downtown location in a historic building and left the safe in the wall. They store the cake boxes in the old safe and it is visible behind the counter which lends character to the atmosphere. This is a candy lovers dream store. Lots of candy gifts ideas.

We got a German chocolate cupcake, which is chocolate cupcake with caramel and coconut-pecan frosting. It was big enough for two people, for sure. The Cookie Monster cupcakes were cute, and there were also cupcakes that looked like sundaes, plus a lot of other flavors, like strawberry cream, pina colada, cherry, M&M and others. Along with cupcakes, you'll also find ice cream, pie and cake slices, cookies, bulk candy, and a whole two walls full of packaged candy, including old fashioned candy like Pez, Chuckles, wax lips and other novelty sweets. This is a sweet and charming little store for all things sweet, located in a vintage-looking building. Parking is on the street or in the small free parking lot a short ways away.

THE best chocolates in Indiana. I'm calling it, people. And you can believe me, because I've eaten…read morea lot of chocolate in Indiana. I get around. J. Evelyn Confections -- also somewhat confusingly called Greenfield Chocolates by some -- is a boutique chocolate shop in downtown Greenfield. They use Valrhona chocolate and other high-quality ingredients to make their confections, and everything that they make is so fresh that they ask you to eat it within two weeks. I love that these chocolates are so good that they have rules! I don't think any kind of chocolate, in any amount, would last two weeks at my house, especially if it came from this chocolate shop, so that's no problem for me. They gave samples of their milk chocolate and dark chocolate, both of which were amazing. The chocolate has a snap when you bite into it, which is what you want. Then, it melts in your mouth. So luscious and delicious. I got a small sampler box of some of their popular chocolates: a milk chocolate caramel, a creamy vanilla bean truffle, a lemon chiffon truffle, a chocolate that had champagne in it (!!) and a crispy chocolate bonbon. Each chocolate was unique and spectacular and delightful. They have lots of chocolates and truffles, but they also sell chocolate bars, chocolate-covered nuts, caramel clusters and so many other chocolate-covered things. Greenfield Chocolates -- also called J. Evelyn Confections -- has received the Indiana Artisan seal of approval, which is kind of a big deal! It means that this local chocolate shop is committed to creating handcrafted and high-quality products in Indiana, which is really cool.

The clerk was friendly and happy to tell me the story of the owner, her friend who has this remarkable candy making skills. Most of the chocolate comes from Europe and all the candies are made fresh on site. The candies looked like little works of art. Some of the candies have a short shelf life (a couple days) because they are made of fresh ingredients and preservative free. She told me that their best seller are these giant nut clusters. They come with pecans or cashews and milk chocolate or dark. I picked out a dark chocolate cashew cluster. I ate my candy later in the evening and it tasted simply devine. The chocolate was rich and salty and the caramel creamy with the crunch of the fresh tasting nuts. What a treat. I'll be returning. The clerk told me that they decorate seasonly, and Christmas decor is fabulous.

What a fun and welcoming place to get a coffee and sit for a while. I ordered the raspberry dream latte and she ordered some caramel honey something iced coffee and they were both delicious! We sat down in the caboose and enjoyed the details and we just went to the back to get some pictures. I will say I can honestly appreciate that they have a reservation sign up for the back of the caboose which makes so much sense. Time and time again we have gone to coffee shops and too many people are just hogging up areas and or treating the coffee shops like it's their personal office area so i definitely appreciate that you must make a reservation to enjoy the experience of the caboose. Other coffee shops should get on board with this kind of idea...pun intended! (Wink wink) Our experience was definitely a great one and looking forward to a not so windy day to be able to enjoy the patio area outside. Great staff, great drinks! Definitely a must visit!

I really really love…read morethe vibe of the place (it's perfection) and have worked remotely in there before, but haven't in a while because I just really don't like the coffee. I am not sure where they get their beans or how good their espresso maker is, but something is definitely off. The ONLY thing I have been able to drink is the shaken espresso which I have gotten probably 4 or 5 times, but it is far from consistent. I think maybe 2-3 times it had been good and strong and balanced, but the others the drinks have just been super watery and undrinkable. I have gotten extra shots in drinks in hopes that the drinks will be stronger and there really is something off and not good. Also My husband got a regular decaf coffee once (at 9am on a Saturday) and they had to make it as a pour over, and it was about $7, and he told me it was the worst coffee, he had to throw it out and got a coffee at BP gas station that was much better. The owners are very lovely and pleasant, honestly all the staff is. I just really wish something about the coffee would change. I can't necessarily see myself going back :(

I've been a customer for 6 years, but the direction this company is going has lost me…read more My biggest issue is the change of how they are selling almond butters and cashew butters - one time only presale and having to wait weeks for product rather than buying when you need or want to. Then it's on the customers to buy and meet the company's goal, otherwise they will be refunded. How is that a customer friendly approach, it's a frustrating experience. The company did not meet the cashew butter goal, so what did they do, they extended the timeline, because of course that is not customer friendly to cancel when it's just 70 jars from not meeting their goal. Which now results in a misleading and dishonest practice. Aside from that, they are not transparent about the future and inconsistent about their messaging. You see people making comments stating they want to buy more almond butters or want different flavors offered and I've seen both the response of we hope to have almonds on the site soon to then changing we hope to do another presale, which is not sustainable to put this all on the customers at one time. Or they give the frustrating line of we never say never! My advice to the company, stop focusing on posting trendy reels and start focusing on transparency with the direction and future of the company with consistent messaging, as well as offering product in a better way, because this is not it.
