We stopped by to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday and left very upset within 10 minutes. The hostess began by discriminating against my mom, who uses a small scooter because she is handicapped. Even though there was no where to move, she kept saying that we needed to "keep the space clear" next to the hostess stand. She then told us she could seat us at three separate tables (party of 12), which was fine except that she said we needed to split up the kids and they could not sit together. Our four oldest kids are between 9 and 12 were standing quietly waiting to be seated. I was starting to feel uncomfortable, but we agreed. Once she led us to the tables, half the room was empty and it would have been easy to slide tables together end to end. When I asked to do so, the hostess said, "No. Three separate servers. Three separate checks." The final straw was when she told my sister in law that my newphew, who was sleeping a small stroller, had to leave. I have worked as a waitress in many restaurants and in one in Kennebunkport similar to this one and was appalled by her rigidity and insistence upon creating problems where none existed. I guess she gets away with this since they are one of only two restaurants open in Perkins Cove. read more

I went to this restaurant with my family, about 14 of us. We were ok with being seated separately as there were too many of us. We were seated in three different tables. After an hour of wait time to get our drinks, we asked a waitress if we could please order. She snapped back that she was not our waitress with attitude. She proceeded to speak to the table in front of us and pointed at us to the customers and laughed. I had never felt so humiliated. Our waitress came, took our orders and we waited another hour before our food was brought out cold and my kids orders were wrong. I told our waitress to please take the plate back, I had lost my appetite. She then stated that she would not take it off our bill. I never asked her to give it to my for free. We are Hispanic and felt completely discriminated against. I asked for a manager and was informed that they did not have one, to come back and speak to a manager. We went back to speak to the owner and she asked me what did she want me to do about it. She did not care at all. Our intent was to have drinks and dinner .. until the bartender was less than welcoming. He didn't make conversation, was quite grumpy about special requests and had an edge. He worked alone preparing drinks for customers sitting at the bar as well as the waite staff. Too much work and this may have contributed to his attitude. My experience today earned every bit of its 2.5 star average. Lobster weight def off. They charge for soda refills.-which we were not offered but found out when we asked for refills. Food comes plopped on a plate-no frills yet their inflated prices. Our server was bland and slow and for the FIRST TIME EVER I was rushed from my table to leave while still eating by my server who gave us the bill and said "Are you paying cash or charge". Despite the beautiful view right on the water, big portions and pretty good food, I can't recommend this restaurant because of the rudeness of the staff. We didn't like the first table offered to us, and asked to change. We were put back on the bottom of the waiting list by the less than gracious hostess. Once seated, our order was quickly taken, but we were never offered bread, and no drink order was taken. The food was good and fresh. We were eating our dinner and my young daughter and her friend split the chicken and broccoli fettuccini. We spilt it into 2 plates and my daughter began eating it and found a bug in her food. Both girls stopped eating their food and we sent it away. We did not get a replacement for this food because they lost their appetite. The manager came over to apologize and we said it was no big deal since this can happen. When we got our bill the fettuccini was still on the bill for $23 so we asked if this could be taken off. The manager again came over and said he would not take it off because they had already stated eating this. After we argued with him that this food was not eaten cause of the bug he said he would give us half off. We again had to argue for this to be taken off. He finally took this off but made us feel uncomfortable about having to argue for this. When we left we thanked him and he said "well this is not or our policy" so we will now not go back. Management is unfriendly and arrogant. A restaraunt we have visited often is now off our list of go to places. Too bad for bad management!! read more

My boyfriend and I had dinner here yesterday and this review is ONLY based on the negative service we received which I normally wouldn't care so much about, except this time I was bringing my boyfriend here with the intentions of a fun, romantic evening. I come here at least 4-5 times every summer with my best friend and have had nothing but great service, good food and an AMAZING view! (Unfortunately, I just became a "yelper" this year and never reviewed it previously) I decided to take my boyfriend here for his first time for a romantic view and some seafood. I will admit the food is very overpriced, but it has been worth it in the past because of the experience. Our service was very bad and I have to admit I left embarrassed that I brought my boyfriend there because of our waitress. I found myself having to say,"but before it was really great!" a lot after our dinner. Our waitress had a thick accent (which is absolutely fine as English is NOT my first language) but you couldn't understand her because she was mumbling her words. She greeted us very friendly and told us the specials. We got the mussels as an appetizer to share and I had to have a bowl of their yummy lobster bisque for myself. (It's had bad reviews, but I really enjoy it!) He ordered the twin lobsters (or lobstAHS lol) and I got a lobster roll with a side of fries and coleslaw. (I LOVE their coleslaw by the way!) The mussels come in a MASSIVE bowl. We were only at a table for 2-toppers so there was not much room which is fine, except she never cleared our appetizers before bringing out the entrees. When out entrees came out, it was a disaster trying to get our entrees on the table. She did not check on our table while we were eating EVER. Not even a quick check up to see if everything was okay. (Side note: She never checked on the couple next to us either...who you could also tell was also feeling frustrated with her lack of service as well) She simply dropped off the appetizer and left. Our waters were getting low during the app and they were empty when our entrees arrived. She asked if we needed anything and we said "More water when you get the chance." She took "when you get the chance" WAY too literally. We waited 25 minutes for water! I couldn't believe it! This has NEVER happened to me at Jackie's! My boyfriend was almost done with his second lobster and I had stopped eating because I had no beverage to drink with my dinner. We almost had to flag down another server until we saw her. My boyfriend (frustrated) put his hand up and said,"EXCUSE ME, we just need our waters please." He has never done that before and I personally think it's rude when customers feel the need to have to "call" a server down, but when you've been waiting your ENTIRE MEAL for 2 waters we were frustrated to say the VERY least. Her response was to throw HER HAND UP and say,"UMMM EXCUSE ME-ONE second!!" and ROLLED HER EYES with attitude! As if we were bothering her! We were waiting SO long for these waters, to be honest I think she forgot and was upset she was called out on it. Originally, we were going to have some cocktails to wash our delicious seafood down with, and I am SO GLAD we did not bother wasting our money. I didn't have the heart to give Jackie's only 1 star because of one very awful server. This is my first bad (and very long) review. I'm upset it was with a restaurant I've had so many good summer memories in. I will be going back because of past experiences, but if I see that server walking to our table I will be moving to another section. The breading basket was rusted beyond belief there was dried stuck on seafood on the counters.i also saw dried food on the handles of equipment the floors were disgusting..there was a bad smell from the area of the seafood breading station..please clean up your kitchen so people can eat fresh clean food..i will never go there again no matter how clean they make it read more

Offseason visit and it was nice to find some lunch service. The staff were all really nice, the seating was nice on a heated/enclosed deck that had amazing views from every table (the real reason to eat here). The food was fine- we're not seafood fans so a cheeseburger and a chicken wrap for us which were tasty. The wrap came with a little snack bag of Lays potato chips, which was disappointing. One note is that even though the Yelp filters said this restaurant is good for kids, there is no changing table in the bathrooms. The bathrooms are very tiny and I had to change my baby on my changing mat balanced on the toilet seat cover- dangerous and gross. Also, I was asked to leave my stroller outside (understandable), but not provided a secure place to put it. We had walked the Marginal Way from Ogunquit so we didn't have the car with us to change him in or leave his stroller. As new parents, we are learning how important these things could be so I wanted to share in case any other parents would like to know what to expect. read more

Today s visit held great expectations- beautiful weather, lovely vista and great friends! To cut to the chase we felt like we were in a prison atmosphere soon after settling in at a beautiful table with a grand view. Our wine choice was not satisfactory to one of our party and after a sip she asked for another brand- the server was clearly flustered at the request for another brand/ left and came back with another glass filled with 1 ounce of the requested wine change- she embarrassing told us that she could not take off the original charge but was giving us the ounce that they calculated that my friend drank!!!! As for flexibility with menu - there are no substitutions Or creativity to add lobster salad to a different salad??? There is no customer service here and I feel badly for staff who always have to deliver the message with no backup from management. We drove 1.5 hours to eat at this place. We were having a mother daughter weekend. The town is small and quaint and the view from the restaurant is amazing but the service is horrible. My mother and I went to grab a table as my sister went to park. (Parking is tough) The hostess would not sit us until my sister came back from parking the car. I told her we just drove 1.5 hours and I really needed a drink but she refused to sit us. My sister showed up so they finally sat us after my sister had to pay $20 to park. We sat down the waitress came over put 3 water on the table and walked away. Alrighty then. Then we waited a good 15 min for her to come over to ask what we wanted to drink (we almost left) but when she finally came over we put the order in for our app and food. Did I tell you the place was NOT busy. The Steamed clams delish, food was delish. Still service was horrible. She never came over once to ask how our food was or ask if we needed refills. Remember I was thirsty so I drank my soda super fast but was never asked for a refill. I was initially not impressed at all - inside vibe is weird, service was CRAZY slow, drinks were forgotten and lost in the shuffle, but this place redeemed itself with the food. The 4 lobsters we ordered were good but underfoot we were covered in earwigs. EWWW! They seated us but proceeded to close the bar, vacuum the floor, and close the plastic screens over the patio. Went here for the first time with a friend this past weekend. Will start by saying the view is absolutely spectacular, the best of Perkin's Cove. My friend had been here prior to the pandemic and it was mediocre. This time around, it was all around horrible. Margaritas are watered down and had zero taste of alcohol. The mussels were not even close to what was pictured on the website. There wasn't even a sauce. It was warm, dirty tasting water with pieces of shell, sprinkled with sea salt and parsley. Actually disgusting tasting, so we only had a few. The kids chicken fingers looked like they were from a frozen dinner. Did not touch that at all. Brussels sprouts app was the only edible item we got. The waitress did not ask us once how the food was. Took our plates and ran without saying a word. We did give a good tip, as we understand the struggles of the pandemic on all industries. However, we will not be back. This place has a lot of potential with the location and is definitely in need of new management or ownership. read more

One of our very favorite restaurants in the world. It's oceanside where you can hear waves hit the rocks and enjoy ocean views. My wife always chooses the seafood pasta as it's her favorite dish. My wife and I went here for lunch after walking on Marginal Way. A couple was in front of us and were seated immediately. The host returns to us and tells us it will be about 30 minutes for a table. In front of us there are 10 tables with place settings and no one is sitting there, so I ask if we can sit there and he says that they are not sitting anyone there today. My wife and I go sit at the bar and order a beer, look at the menu, listen to the couple next to us complaing about how long it has been since they ordered, we watch one of the servers continue to eat olives from the bartenders tray and decide it is time to find another place. read more

We waited an hour for our table which is expected, but then after ordering our meals it too took another hour for them to arrive. The food was overdone, cold, and tasteless! This was by far the worst experience that my husband and I have had. We have been to Jackie's Too several times. It's always a nice treat when we visit Maine to sit, relax enjoy the view and have a really nice dinner. This visit was awful. We got seated in a nice spot to enjoy the view.? We ordered drinks and an appetizer. The drinks and mussels we very good. We told the waiter that we wanted a little time before we ordered our dinner. That was the last time he checked in on us. He was at the table next to us 3 times, not even checking in on us or seeing our empty glasses??? Really??! After it seemed like 25 min I went to speak to the hostess. I requested another waitress. The waitress that was running circles around our waiter. I wish I could remember his name because he was terrible. He was a black man that waited on us but the other waitress was running around tending to all of her tables, running by our table several times. She definitely knew what she was doing and was very good at it. She looked at us several times almost to say...is anyone waiting on you?? The hostess was awful! The waiter said if they don't want me, that is my table and they will have to move to another station??? Really!!! I was irate! Not to mention that by now all the tables were full. It was terrible and ruined our time. We left and went next door to another restaurant where we had awesome service and a nice view. We will not be back to Jackie's too. this is a 4 star review for lunch. I live locally and am not so interested in paying for dinner here but this is a FANTASTIC lunch spot. If I want to take someone for a lunch w/ a view this is the place I go. Parking is tough down at Perkins cove so it's best to take the trolley or park at one of the lots in the village. Try the fish and chips, clams, lobster roll or salads. I like the wraps also. Great views, lots of outdoor seating (heated patio) wouldn't be my pick when it's 50 degrees to be outside but great most days also lots of seating indoors. Nice view but mediocre food and service. Our server was nice enough, but the other staff were less than professional. Most at the back near the bar, seemed to be sitting around staring idly at customers coming in (not even a smile, or 'hello'), complaining about customers, in front of other customers, and also airing out their own grievances with each other, right there in the middle of the restaurant. We told the lady up front that we were just there for desert, this was not relayed to our servers and they just seemed very disappointed - enough that we felt very unwelcome and just wanted to get out of there. I get that this is a seafood place and that the other dishes might be very good - but if you don't want to serve desert, then don't have desert on your menu My mother got a bumble-berry pie, which was stone cold. My wife got a desert with ice-cream, that hardly had any ice-cream, my key lime pie was pretty mediocre with a little squirt of cream from a can - I mean, why bother? Best of all was the mac and cheese that the kids wanted - it was totally vile. Obviously a cheap store-bought frozen one that had just been zapped in a microwave. They would have done better to atleast serve Kraft microwave mac and cheese. The total experience was half-hearted couldn't-care-less why-are-you-still-here? Lovely location with nice open air deck overlooking the ocean but my lunch was pricey and mediocre. The special of the day was toasted turkey, avocado, tomato, cheese, red pepper aioli sandwich. Sounded tasty but what I got was a bland conglomeration of deli turkey, pink tasteless tomato, nearly liquefied avocado, dripping with a pink mayonnaise-like dressing on pan grilled regular bread. Edible but IMO poorly made. The sandwich contents would squish out onto my hands and plate as I ate it. I also ordered a Bloody Mary which was literally a 16 oz glass filed up with ice and a few ounces of tomato juice flavored water. If there was any vodka in it I couldn't tell since the drink was so watered down. I've eaten here in past years when visiting Perkins Cove was very satisfied. This time around not very good. They need to raise their standards and monitor the quality of what's coming out of the kitchen. read more

If you want a great salad Jackie's Too is the place to go! Hubby & I just had dinner there tonight and I wanted a tuna salad plate. What I got was a dinner plate heaping with a mixed green salad, hard boiled egg and a large scoop of tuna salad and a nice vinaigrette dressing! We had a fantastic server, Anne, who was very attentive & even brought me warm bread to go the salad. I could only eat 1/2 of my salad there was so much. It was definitely enough to share! Hubby had a burger & fries which he enjoyed. If you're full after eating here, which you probably will be, take the walk along Marginal Way it's right off the far end of the parking lot for a wonderful view of the ocean! read more

Not terrible. But not even decent. Baked stuffed lobster was supposed to be 1.5 lbs. definitely under. The side of rice was very bland. Over cooked and may as well have been white rice. The lobster was over cooked. I've had hundreds of lobsters. Never that rubbery though. Wouldn't recommend. Might try a different dish but based on what I had so far there are better places in Perkins Cove. read more
