Jackie's is a "hole in the wall" type place tucked under an antique shop. It has a counter area, and a larger dining area with tables. There is a round table, for anyone with childish whimsy enough to channel their inner King Arthur. I was voted down in that endeavor for a square table. Anyway, the wait staff was pretty attentive without being intrusive. Once they food came, they kept an eye on things from the register in the middle in case drinks needed to be refilled or anything looked lacking. They keep Pepsi on tap and Cokes are hit or miss in the cooler, if you take note of that sort of thing. The food itself was pretty good, although the knife cuts on my Baked Potato skilled could have used a little more consistency. They are cash only, so make sure to stop at the ATM first.

Came for breakfast, great specials, giant pancakes, everything cooked well. Roomy, but cash only.

Very well made food quickly prepared. Waitress very friendly and efficient. Staff did not rush us to leave even though past closing.

We went here for breakfast. Prices are good, food is what you would expect for a typical breakfast, and the owner's daughter is amazing.

Both staff and food were great! Eggs were cooked to perfection, sadly hard to find it seems at breakfast joints nowadays.

And unlike their incredibly high-priced restaurant across the street, al Tavolo, you might actually afford to eat here. The owners have done an admirable creating an environment that's comfortable and low-key without sacrificing their commitment to quality. After all, the phrase "a mano" translates to "by hand," reflecting how the vast majority of items here are made from scratch on site. I come here often for their coffee, which I love for its balance and low acidity compared to Starbucks, etc. But the real star of the show here are the pastries, such as a layered s'more bar the size of a small brick; a variety of gourmet doughnuts (my favorite is the lemon-filled); and "cruffins," a combination of croissant and muffin with a delicious cream filling. My usual go-to are their bagels: slightly crispy on the outside, pillowy on the inside. There's also a full sandwich and salad menu with breakfast and lunch options including salads, sandwiches, a quiche of the day, and other specials. Their breakfast egg sandwiches -- seemingly modeled on the now-famous one at Sagaponack General Store in the Hamptons -- are especially popular. While $13 for a basic egg sandwich is a bit ridiculous even for a gourmet one, you'll have little complaint once you have a taste. While you're perusing the menu and pastries, don't forget to check out the well-stocked selection of farm-fresh cheeses and other Arethusa Farm products. And, if you've got room aftewards, don't forget to stop at the Arethusa Farm Dairy Store for some ice cream -- it's also across the street, next to Arethusa al Tavolo. (Disclaimer: I grew up in the area, though I don't know any former or current employees of Arethusa.)

We dined with a small party in a private room, warm and comfy, and boasting elegant, polished service from a sharp and friendly team of servers. Excellent. For Easter, we were given a prix fixe menu ($150 per) that provided some fine choices among appetizers, entrees and desserts. The appetizers included octopus, quail and some super tasty (and NOT overcooked) seared tuna. Delicious. The entrees included duck and chicken but all of us deferred to the tenderloin which was perfectly cooked to our preference, tender and ... well, just what we wanted. Add in the desserts and the drinks -- lots of specialty beverages. all on the pricey side -- and we were totally satisfied. Not a complaint in the group. Winvian is very private, You can't just stroll in. Reservations are necessary, and you'll need to get buzzed in. Once there, however, the well-trained staff provide first-class treatment, thoughtful and never obtrusive. It is a grand experience -- but it is expensive. Definitely for special occasions.

This is what we came across while driving through the little town of Morris, Connecticut. Penny Farthing Tea Room & Bakery is an adorable little British themed tea house. The best part? The three ladies running their business are all Brits! Alison, Clare and Deb are so welcoming and they come complete with their authentic British dialects. The inside is very small, homey and comfortable. There's so much British decor and delicate fine china everywhere. Their menu is broad with an assortment of tea of course, scones, sandwiches, soups and salads. I got the Rose Lemonade tea, with a scone. It came with a side of jam and cream. The presentation is stunning. Everything arrived on beautiful fine china, even the little dish for the honey. My friend also got their Chicken Salad Sandwich. I am so impressed, the scone was so fresh and tasty on its own, but adding that jam takes it to a new level. The tea was flavorful and rich. My friend also enjoyed her sandwich, I tried a bit, it was scrumptiously good. We had a lovely time at Penny Farthing Tea Room & Bakery, it is truly an experience to spend some time here.
