a bagel with eggs and bacon

Quaint, cute little hidden gem in the Litchfield-Bantam area. This place is great! They offer breakfast and lunch with a variety of fresh baked goodies! From breakfast bowls to omelettes to egg sandwiches you can choose from their menu or make your own creation. They also have lattes, cappuccino, coffee, iced coffee, tea.. anything you'd like! I had a cappuccino and a bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel and both were delicious. Fresh, made to order, and totally hit the spot on a beautiful Sunday morning after a workout. I imagine their lunch is great too- I saw some of their soups and prepared tuna salad and some to-go salads. Everything looked delicious. Try this place! They are wonderful.

Yogurt parfait- Mesmerizing! - Perfect amount of granola adds to the crunchy texture mixed with all the berries under the rainbow

I Love Heart's Bakery! Customer Service is great. Food is A+ People are all really friendly. They want you to enjoy their creation.

A very cute and quaint eclecticly decorated bakery cafe who's owner and workers are pleasant and accommodating. We had some delicious baked goods and a very tasty cup of coffee. I highly recommend stopping by on a Sunday afternoon, its well worth the visit.

I stopped by for lunch today, not having been since they formally took over Chowderhead's. It's very much, with lots of tempting items. I had the turkey panini with pesto and mozzarella. The sandwich was apparently made ahead of time, so they kindly picked off the tomato for me. The sandwich held up very well over the two additional stops to get home, and was tasty. At $6.50, not a bad price in this area. I wish I worked nearby; it would be fun place to stop in for lunch regularly! It's decorated with a personal touch, on the eclectic side, and I feel like I'll see something new every time I go in. All the salt and pepper shakers are different, I loved the pigs! For the fans for the former Chowederheads, the New England Clam Chowder is still there, along with a few other varieties of soup. They have a lot of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options in their food and bakery items. Tonight I'm trying their homemade Oreos for dessert.

Food is ok. The staff is not the friendliest. Customer service needs improvement, a nice welcome, or hello would be a good start.

And unlike their incredibly high-priced restaurant across the street, al Tavolo, you might actually afford to eat here. The owners have done an admirable creating an environment that's comfortable and low-key without sacrificing their commitment to quality. After all, the phrase "a mano" translates to "by hand," reflecting how the vast majority of items here are made from scratch on site. I come here often for their coffee, which I love for its balance and low acidity compared to Starbucks, etc. But the real star of the show here are the pastries, such as a layered s'more bar the size of a small brick; a variety of gourmet doughnuts (my favorite is the lemon-filled); and "cruffins," a combination of croissant and muffin with a delicious cream filling. My usual go-to are their bagels: slightly crispy on the outside, pillowy on the inside. There's also a full sandwich and salad menu with breakfast and lunch options including salads, sandwiches, a quiche of the day, and other specials. Their breakfast egg sandwiches -- seemingly modeled on the now-famous one at Sagaponack General Store in the Hamptons -- are especially popular. While $13 for a basic egg sandwich is a bit ridiculous even for a gourmet one, you'll have little complaint once you have a taste. While you're perusing the menu and pastries, don't forget to check out the well-stocked selection of farm-fresh cheeses and other Arethusa Farm products. And, if you've got room aftewards, don't forget to stop at the Arethusa Farm Dairy Store for some ice cream -- it's also across the street, next to Arethusa al Tavolo. (Disclaimer: I grew up in the area, though I don't know any former or current employees of Arethusa.)
