Benedict and potatoes

On our trip to Connecticut, we were looking for a small-town vibes diner, and Patty's was it! With nice servers, generous servings, and a hometown atmosphere, it checked all of our boxes! We ordered a benedict and breakfast tacos. Both were delicious, and neither of us could finish! Our coffees were full the whole time we were there, we didn't have to wait long to get our food or our bill. Overall, it was a great experience!

Today was our first time having breakfast at Patty's. It was delicious, I highly recommend. The eggs Benedict Florentine was so flavorful & cooked perfectly. The eggs & has was very good too. The hash browns were crispy & seasoned just right. We sat outside, plenty of space to be socially distanced & it was a beautiful fall morning. The only negative is they don't accept cards for payment, so if you don't have cash you need to use their ATM.

Came here for breakfast with my parents since it was on our way home to New Jersey. First impressions of this place was that it seemed very homey and welcoming, which I throughly enjoyed. I also enjoyed the fact that there is art being promoted and for same on the walls of the resturant. Our server had no real personality besides being in a rush and going very fast with everything she was doing. She would drop food and vanish and she never introduced herself to us. Just kept asking questions like what we wanted to drink, eat, or if we wanted a refill. The food did take quite awhile to cook, I'm not sure if it was cause it was bustling but for breakfast food it was SLOW. There were people who came if at least 20 minutes after us and they got served right after we did, so maybe our food was sitting in the window for awhile, I'm not sure. Now onto the food portion of the review. I ordered The Southern which consists of two eggs, contend beef hash toast and your choice of home fries or hash browns. Instead of toast I got their fruit cup which was amazing and fresh, the only downside being that the blueberries were hard and sour. I got my eggs cooked over easy and they were perfect, along with my hash brows that were just the right amount of crispy. However my corned beef hash was just terrible. It tasted bitter and honestly had no flavor. Which was very disappointing. Overall, I don't think that this is the best spot to get breakfast. Service was lackluster and slow. The food was mediocre and there were several good aspects but the bad aspects outweighed them. Maybe I just got a bad order, but my father ordered the same thing and agreed with me about the corned beef hash. If you do want to come here, I recommend sticking to eggs, hash browns and fruit. As my mother claimed her egg white omelet was good. Also, they only accept cash payments which is definitely a downside and parking is not that accessible.

This place feels very homey upon walking in. The aesthetics are nothing to write home about, but who cares as long as the foods good, right? We got here on a Saturday morning, and thankfully the restaurant is pretty big and we were able to be seated right away. They have a regular menu, which is pretty bland. But, make sure you ask for the specials menu because they literally have like 20 awesome options to choose from on there! I got the pumpkin waffle with walnuts and whipped cream, which was pretty good. I tried a side of the jalapeño bacon, which was good but just a tad to crisp fort liking. My boyfriend had a southern chicken omelette with home fries, which was DELISH. And our other friend got a cheese burger with fries, which I heard was heavenly. We also ordered a salad with fresh fruits that looked super inviting. We enjoyed the food so much were definitely coming back again.

And unlike their incredibly high-priced restaurant across the street, al Tavolo, you might actually afford to eat here. The owners have done an admirable creating an environment that's comfortable and low-key without sacrificing their commitment to quality. After all, the phrase "a mano" translates to "by hand," reflecting how the vast majority of items here are made from scratch on site. I come here often for their coffee, which I love for its balance and low acidity compared to Starbucks, etc. But the real star of the show here are the pastries, such as a layered s'more bar the size of a small brick; a variety of gourmet doughnuts (my favorite is the lemon-filled); and "cruffins," a combination of croissant and muffin with a delicious cream filling. My usual go-to are their bagels: slightly crispy on the outside, pillowy on the inside. There's also a full sandwich and salad menu with breakfast and lunch options including salads, sandwiches, a quiche of the day, and other specials. Their breakfast egg sandwiches -- seemingly modeled on the now-famous one at Sagaponack General Store in the Hamptons -- are especially popular. While $13 for a basic egg sandwich is a bit ridiculous even for a gourmet one, you'll have little complaint once you have a taste. While you're perusing the menu and pastries, don't forget to check out the well-stocked selection of farm-fresh cheeses and other Arethusa Farm products. And, if you've got room aftewards, don't forget to stop at the Arethusa Farm Dairy Store for some ice cream -- it's also across the street, next to Arethusa al Tavolo. (Disclaimer: I grew up in the area, though I don't know any former or current employees of Arethusa.)

There are signs letting motorists know that the restaurant and other businesses in the affected area are open, but not many have visited them. And according to the owner, Jackie's has been majorly affected with the number of weekly customers way down. And that's likely to continue until construction ends, hopefully by the end of August. So we're doing a short update to remind everyone in the vicinity that unpretentious Jackie's is indeed open and worth stopping by to dine. We've been doing that for around six years now, meeting regularly for breakfast with a small group of folks. Here's the skinny: Jackie's is open for breakfast and an early lunch (except Wednesdays). They are cash only, but there's an ATM inside. The menu is pretty standard breakfast/lunch items, but it's all prepared freshly and is pretty darned good. They know how to cook eggs, they make the bacon crisp, and they serve a good Benedict. We're fans. And we think they deserve to stay in business. Oh yeah, they have wonderful servers, too. We dined with a small party in a private room, warm and comfy, and boasting elegant, polished service from a sharp and friendly team of servers. Excellent. For Easter, we were given a prix fixe menu ($150 per) that provided some fine choices among appetizers, entrees and desserts. The appetizers included octopus, quail and some super tasty (and NOT overcooked) seared tuna. Delicious. The entrees included duck and chicken but all of us deferred to the tenderloin which was perfectly cooked to our preference, tender and ... well, just what we wanted. This is what we came across while driving through the little town of Morris, Connecticut. Penny Farthing Tea Room & Bakery is an adorable little British themed tea house. The best part? The three ladies running their business are all Brits! Alison, Clare and Deb are so welcoming and they come complete with their authentic British dialects. The inside is very small, homey and comfortable. There's so much British decor and delicate fine china everywhere. Their menu is broad with an assortment of tea of course, scones, sandwiches, soups and salads. I got the Rose Lemonade tea, with a scone. It came with a side of jam and cream. The presentation is stunning. Everything arrived on beautiful fine china, even the little dish for the honey. My friend also got their Chicken Salad Sandwich. I am so impressed, the scone was so fresh and tasty on its own, but adding that jam takes it to a new level. The tea was flavorful and rich. My friend also enjoyed her sandwich, I tried a bit, it was scrumptiously good. We had a lovely time at Penny Farthing Tea Room & Bakery, it is truly an experience to spend some time here.

It remains a small, independently owned store with a surprisingly full stock, lots of fresh meats, deli items, produce, a large beer cooler with all the local and foreign brands you night desire, and a very friendly and helpful staff. We're especially fond of the nice folks behind the deli counter. Our complaints are about the same: the prices hover on the high side. The prices are generally quite a bit higher than the nearby Stop and Shop, but honestly, the quality of their locally produced items is far higher. Still, if you're buying some basics like soup or milk, you'll pay more here, and some prices can be really way up there. Sometimes we're frustrated by that, other times we're grateful to find some delicious fresh fish or prepared salads. Bantam is not our first market of choice, but we're here regularly for some things we like and want.

That fried chicken is 5 Stars every time. Friendly crew, but the checkout can be a bit of a process though, the place does a brisk business, and the parking lot is always full.
